I will find Scotland with great ease.

I'll simply keep driving or flying North until I see the polar lights and a Haggis going in the other direction  ;)

Congratulations must go to Ironside on his incredible generosity....it's going to a very worthy cause.

Anyway If you care to e-mail me by clicking on my name we can arrange a convenient date and time (I can't find your e-mail address from your previous post as I think you have it hidden)

Nice one ironside very generous.

Also well done ActionJack who secured a percentage of Harry in next weeks WPT Comp in Paris. (Nice kilt Jon)

Welcome Harry, I echo ironside's comments, it's a friendly sort of group.

It's fair to point out that some of the best lots in the auction were donated by Mr D and, best of all, when I bought a round he ordered a drink of water. Pleasure to meet you big man.

And a word about Mr D.

I shall be writing a little article about tonights Game4Life bash as soon as I have finished on the Forum, it wll be up later today, & will feature, amongst others, Harry D.

But for now....

I chatted to Harry tonight at length - he is a most generous, respectful & polite Gentleman, & I took a liking to him immediately.

Rather cheekily - some may say rudely - I ever so gently enquired as to whether he might, at some stage, considering becoming a blondeite, & honour us with a few of his very insightful posts. I think I may have said that blonde has many top players as Members, but we would not consider ourselves content until he himself joined & posted. He explained how busy he was. Not often in the UK, & that he has blonde bookmarked, & regularly visits the site to have a look round. He ended by promising to post on our Forum "soon". I actully believed him - he seems a man good to his word.

And within hours, he did.

He's a pretty busy fella. And I'm pretty knocked out by him.

Memo to Self - Add Harry D to list of Poker Heroes.

OH - & most of the "donations" tonight came from the man himself. When I mentioned this to him, he would only hear mention others such as El Blondie, Joe B. Barny, Ross, Ram, Camel, Simon, etc etc.

Top bloke. He plays next week's Paris WPT. We shall be proud that he's a blondeite, we will follow him closely, & we hope he runs well in it.

Actually if we are going to give some credit to someone then lets give it to all those players who provided me with their signatures/books/signed photos etc etc which I took along last night and some of which have been saved for the poker4charity event in August (sadly I will miss that one as I'm going to be abroad again).

Not a single poker player has refused to supply me with items for charity events such as this and the list includes:

Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, Huck Seed, Scotty Nguyen, Greg Raymer, Dan Harrington, Erik Seidel, Phil Helmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Gordon, Layne Flack, Carlos Mortensen, Howard Lederer to name just a few. (There really are too many to list).

The list is endless not to metion the tireless efforts aof Dave and Angie (and Tony himself last night) and then there were all those reps from internet sites whom I along with many others castigate from time to time (Blue Square, 888.com, William Hill and Victor Chandler) and most importantly of all, those that were prepared to buy tickets for the function, raffle tickets and make generous bids for auction items.

I was just a delivery/errand boy and more than happy to be so, but hopefully I can bring back more goodies from my next trip to The USA in a few months time.

Life and poker has been good to me and it is indeed a privelidge and honour to be able to give something back and there are a lot more people beside me who are happy to do the same and more.

No - I'm still known as The Wise Owl it's just I don't really feel like dragging out the Card Protectors except for final tables and their novelty is wearing off a bit these days and there are advantages to not being so easily recognizable.

Ironside hun, I congratulate you and thank you for outbidding Dave (Alfa666), I hope to God my look of horror was NOT caught on camera. The thought of having someone as famous as HD in my house was enough to make me want to chuck myself off that balcony.

As much as I would actually have liked Dave to win, I'd have been booking them both into the local travel inn rather than suffer the humiliation of letting anyone important into my hovel. *lol* :o :o :o

Well done and congratulations once again Ironside.

P.S. TIKAY: I'm not what you said I was on Saturday night, I'm an ANGEL! ::)

Yeah it was Dave Ironside - if they had left a little more on the 425 bit you would have heard Davey shout 450 by Dave **** (don't think he'd like his surname on here), and more importantly you would have seen me stood next to him.  (lol  j/k)

Well done again.

Welcome Harry.

I'm glad you're here because it gives me the opportunity to tell you how impressed I was with your composure under extreme provocation by Josh Arieh last year.  When I watched it my immediate thought was "That's how I hope I can react if ever I'm in that situation."  Sheer class.

well done ironside. knowing Harry I am sure you will have a great day. All the best with your op as well.

I remember thinking the first time I saw the Josh Arieh incident how well Harry handled it and that if I was ever in the same situation that I would like toconduct myself in the same way - truth is I probably wouldn't.

Now all I need is Greg Raymer to join Blonde and I can say the same about his similar scenario with Matusow in 2004.
