pokerstars has announced its 4th online festival (the biggest on the net)
with 15 events and guarenteed total prize pool of 8million dollars (my guessimate will be nearer 12 million than 8 million)
it is the festival to be seen it

they are also offering 20% on any deposits before the 28th of july upto 120$ on a 600$ deposit

my goal at the start of the year was to make a final table in the WCOOP but my small bankroll will make this diffiicult as i will have to use a large % of my roll trying to win seats into as many events as i can this together with my revisit to the southern general for an op might make my goal difficult but i am going to try as a WCOOP bracelet looks nearly as nice as a wsop bracelet and the numbers taking part in the lead up events will make the supporting events at the wsop look small

i think the main event in the wcoop will be smaller than the the wsop main event but it should have around 1300 runners at $2.5k a pop will make it the biggest online event in the history of poker

Plenty of cheap sats Ironside. The $5 plus rebuys one generated 10 seats in the  $215 short handed PLHE last night.

idiotic play with AQ on a board of AQ8 cost me half of my stack that might have been able to P&F into the top 10
was looking for that extra few K that would have gaurneteed my seat

The WCOOP was in the top ten payouts in "Sport" last year, will be very interesting to see how it grows this year.
I would love to play these. I think the are recognised as "THE" online events to win.

I'm trying for as many of these as possible too.  Are you concentrating on a particular event first ironside, or just playing whichever sats you fancy at the time ?

As an unreformed satellite whore :D I would play as many as you feel comfortable with. You can always dereg and accumulate W$.

What are the clocks/blinds like in the main event?  Anyone know??

The blind structures are on the Pokerstars Site under the WCOOP tab look under an event and it says Tournament Info. 2500 starting chips and 30 minute levels

the structure of pokerstars events are in the top 3 on the net

with 30 minute levels they are a tough event to last but allows more play than any other game online

unfortunately not in your guys class but just qualified for a frequent players points sat final.Got to get final table to get in wcoop proper but im going to treat this as my final and u never know.small success for a blondite fish.     pokerram

ok 31$ down and entering sat 2 again its PLHE 10+1 rebuy

i have played about 5 of these sats today. Still havent got anywhere, apart from a tikayesque bubble. Although i am nearing the promised land as i write this in a NLHE 1.

first major action for me

Well i opened my mouth too soon, with blinds at 200-400 and lying in 10th spot (8 seats) and 19 left i limp TT UTG with 15.5k back, all fold to the SB who raised it a rather bizare 15,000. The BB swiftly passed and i reasoned that the SB was probably something like 55-JJ Ak or just maybe AA KK. After a very long dwell i decided to risk it, this 1 hand for a seat basically. I called and he had AA.

ok upto 7.4k when i limp utg got a few limpers followed but a cut off raise button calls bb reraises i go all in cutoff and button calls the bb is obilged to call
hands QQ (me) cut off KTs button 77 BB AKo

flop put 3 diamonds on board with the bb holding Ad but no help on turn and river and i take down huge pot

when my JJ with preflop pot raise ran into a flop of T99 and a caller with T7s i am now upto nearly 11k

ran my AA up against 88 whom only had 125 chips left after the flop in which he caught his set so i paid him off

k addon time looks like i will add on for another 2k

thats total cost so far of 52$

lost a huge chunk of change with AJd on a JT9 flop with 2 diamonds mateyboy called my preflop raise with 78 the rest is history
then took my AJo v ATo and flop came T high

3rd and final sat today another $10 +1 but this time NLHE

after getting upto 3.8k on first level i get busted when my AK fails to beat A7 i rebuy run into the nut straight when i have the 2nd best so i dont even bother adding on as i am falling asleep and nurse my crippled stack into the freezeout looking for a double up early or bed

so far i am 73$ down and no seats to show for it

luckly i have place in a couple of SnGs so no real drama yet

ok day 2 in my quest for glory

this time a 30$ + 3$ rebuy for the main event 15 $2600

first hand i played lost my buy in when i missed my flush draw against a lower flush draw that hit middle pair

so $63 down so far and counting

total of 166$ down now having to prop up the loses with SnG wins
might have a go see if i can get a SnG sat going i am much better at

trying to win out right on a 1 table SnG than i am at trying to creep in on MTT

I still think the $5 plus rebuy ones are worth farming. Once I get my act together they will be my staple diet MTT wise for August.

Just managed to pick up my 4th bubble in these!! On the plus side i am CL in the blue square luton sat.

! absoulte nutter on the table, has no idea what he is doing, i evrey hand etc. I raised with JJ he calls flop QTx evreytime he bets out in this spot and often calls with 2nd pair no kicker, infact earlier he called me with A9 all in on a K44 flop when i had TT, so i moved in and he called showing AQ.

This makes it 17 tournaments in the last 2 days (most of which are sats) and not a single $ returned!

ok day 3 and i hae decided to try a double shootout
this suits my always going for a win as i have to win 2 stt to get the $2600 W$
for an investment of $38

it also give the money back for 2nd -7th and 7$ for 8th

so aim is to win 2 STT back to back might have to change style from

normal STT as people wont be playing to make the top 3 and therefore will be taking a few risks

I am in this also, just won a seat for 1 of the smaller events also, i didnt realise these points could only be used for the WCOOP....

Just lost half my chips AK vs AT with of course a T on the river,

you can use the W$s for wcoop events or wcoop sats

ow you getting on in the double shootout i am chip leader on my table with 5 left

And i just became the CL in 1 of the $10 rebuy sats, from 27th to 1st in 2 hands, someone re-raised my AK with 89 all in flop AK

then got JJ in 3 way next hand vs AQ and 88 J on flop sealed it.

lost half my stack doubling thru a guy that called preflop with q5 only to flop a boat

then almost all the rest with a5 on a T53 flop when his a3 turn trips

had 220 left utg with bb at 150 and my T4o was no use v the AJ

annoyed at how i played those 2 hands but hard to put the player on q5

11.5k vs 1.5k HU

And through to the final :D

Final has started, as long as i outlast 1 player i am guarenteed at least $7!!

just lost a 10,000 pot, pretty big with only 12500 in play!

I flopped middle pair on a J8x flp with K8d my oppoent had A7d and the board came running diamonds.

I now have 2k vs 2.3k vs 9k

ever seen so much luck in 1 event as the guy on my right in the PLO he is in every pot calling flop and turn bets with as little as bottom pair of 2s triping up or making backdoor flushes and straights

good news is the freezeout stage is about to happen and the guy has 12k in chips and i have great postion

fact that i have spent 61$ on one event means i just hope i dont get my AAQT in vrs his K553 again cause his 2 pair killed me

no recovery after that...3rd.

and i just dumped all my chips to the fish i give up
