Title: Blondes I need help please!! Post by: dik9 on May 04, 2006, 05:57:46 AM Could anybody tell me, where I could get (or if any exist) a chinese translation of Harrington on Hold'em or any other Poker strategy book? A very good customer of ours has been studying the game for himself, and is doing quite well actually, but wants to step it up a gear, unfortunately he cannot read English, his preffered language is Taiwanese but he can read many dialects of Chinese. I know it is a strange request but any help would be extremely grateful!!
With Thanks Dik9 Title: Re: Blondes I need help please!! Post by: Newmanseye on May 04, 2006, 06:17:35 AM best idea is to try www.joyo.com they are a book supplier in china, they may have a copy

http://www.joyo.com/?source=amazon-usstoreh Unfortunately I couldn'd search for Poker books as it was all in Chinese. If your customer has a Chinese keyboard he should be able to search the site. Post by: Sheriff Fatman on May 04, 2006, 04:07:17 PM I've seen requests similar to this on 2+2 (who are the publishers of HoH) before and I believe that there are no foreign language versions of their books.
Other than using a translation service the best option might be get someone to record an audio version of it onto MP3 or similar. This would overcome his inability to read English (I assume he can understand spoken English) and the problems of translation. Again, there have been several requests for audio versions of the popular 2+2 books which I doubt will ever happen but a 'home made' version is certainly feasible. Obviously the downside would be visualising the hand examples so he might still need the book in front of him to study the problems. Sheriff Title: Re: Blondes I need help please!! I think the first person to publish one of these translated books, would make a mint, as there is a huge unexplored market out there!! So any Chinese literate people get writing now!!! 8) |
