Title: EPT Vienna
Post by: Milkybarkid on March 10, 2005, 01:29:19 PM
Shuffle up and deal. Good luck to Tikay, Julian, Martin and Richard.

So, the first hand is dealt at 2.20pm local time in Vienna, and we are under way. Starting chips 10,000.

Chris Bjorn takes down the first pot at Blondies table and Alex, a popular local, lights his vanilla pipe. In this non smoking tournament I might add. The elegant My Kremser has a quiet word, Alex protests, while getting a last few puffs in, but eventually complies.

Player out first hand, KK V's AA.

Tikay gets dealt KK on his first hand and is making a beeline for the final with 12,000 chips.

Tikay gaining 20% on the first hand. He must be 8/11 to make the final now  ;)

The best of wishes to all the Norwegian players in the tournament, and I would be delighted to get some reports on their progress if possible. I'm positive there's gonna be a surprise top 3 coming from at least one of them.

Chris Bjorin, Sweden in London, Starts well up to 13000
Michael Kerner, germany, takes 2 6's and beats 2 10's making a flush stacking up to 13000.
El Blondie 13000

Devil Fish has been spotted.
Beavers and Noha Boailen are on the same table.
Joe beavers got top straight and got paid, only to give 'em all away and go out!!

Clash on Table 34 was top pair and a nut flush draw, v's trips. Trips held up and another man down.

Stefan Erker - having entered the EPT event was presented with a tv sign off form- "I don't understand english" he protested "and we are in Austria!" There was no german version available so Thomas Kremser had to return his money. This is obviously one for John Duthiers secretary to sort out for futur events....Oh sorry he dosen't have one!....And ALex has put his pipe away.

Barry Boatman just gone

Ross Boatman may be chip leader with 35k chips
Henning Gradstad 18k

Tikay limps with 44, Simon T raises and Tikay passes. Simon showes 23! Ole!

Blondie doubles up with QQ V#s AK and then again with Trip 4's now has 9K

Post by: tikay on March 10, 2005, 05:29:54 PM
We are on a split dinner break now, half the field on break, the other half still playing.

Let us know if you want any particular chip counts.

Bad Girl Pham 14k.

Smoking Steve 5k.

Greg Hill 17k. He just laid KK down! Matey boy showed AK on an A high board.

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: tikay on March 10, 2005, 05:33:12 PM
Anthony Nicholls busts out with TT v AK. Flop J 2 3, Anthony moved in, matey boy called, turn was the K, ayya!

Is Martin Farragher playing?

How are Noah and Marcel doing?

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: tikay on March 10, 2005, 05:36:30 PM
Greg Hill tells me he R#d with J 2, & got RR#d, so Greg promptly RRR#d another 4.5k. After a huge dwell, matey boy passed. I asked Greg why he R#d with J 2, he said "other guy was at it, he had nothing".... Where did he learn tricks like THAT, one wonders.....?

Hi Ben,

Martin Farragher, Marcel Luske & Noah Boeken are ALL playing. I will go & try to find out how they are shaping up.

Title: Re: EPT Vienna

Noah Boeken has 8k.

Marcel Luske & Martin Farragher appear to be on dinner break, will try & get their chip counts soonest.

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: tikay on March 10, 2005, 05:54:37 PM
Joe Beevers looks cool & calm with about 16k.

Nick Whiten of Notts has 12k.

Simon Trumper is mixing it up beautifully on his table, which includes El Blondie. His only setback was against tikay in a tidy pot, when tikay thought Simon had no hand & RR#d to 2,800 after Simons 800 R. Tikay had AK, & Simon AJ suited, Simon was 4 to the flush, & tikay was naked - then an A rivered.....

Title: Re: EPT Vienna

So how many chips do you have tikay ?

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: Mrs C on March 10, 2005, 06:12:41 PM
Marcel Luske is out.

Ross just clashed with Luke Smith - Luke had 10 10 and Ross had a Q on a J,Q,10 flop.
Luke now has 35,000 and Ross has 27,000

Gary Bush sits with 21000 and Simon Trumper hanging in there with 9500

At the first break it sounds like a blood bath!! This is a 3 day comp isn't it? Maybe I have been out to long but I don't think I would have played a hand yet. 3days is a long time and Gary Bush with 21,000 chips is a monster stack at this point......What a grinder he is and in this comp I think this is a very big plus. Hope he can do well let's face it the poor sod is well overdue!!!!!!

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: Mrs C on March 10, 2005, 07:30:14 PM
Tikay is sitting on aprox 17k

Two of the well known germans Lothar L on 10k and Sigi S on 28k are on the same table
Poya Pooyz 13k
Joe Gresch is doing well with 38k
Achilleas Kellachis from the mayfair game is out.
Noha B has 6k
Paul Teststud 10K
James Browning 21K
Ellery 18K
Simon T 9500
Chris Bijorn 5k
Rummit 15K

Luke S has just jumped up to a massive 48k hitting trip nines on the river!!! :o

Sorry about the mis spell, reading bad poker players hand writting. It's tough.

Any way, the blinds are now 150 - 300 with a running ante of 25 - still reasonably low, but wehave now lost over a third of the field.

Simon T is struggling with 7K
Willie Tann still has his starting 10K
Joe Gresh has a healthy 40K
Luca has 31,000
James Browning 15K
NGary Bush 23K
Sigi 30K
Ross Boatman 37K
Luke Smith still leading with a whopping 50K :o

Nottingham Nick just went out, heading for the exit not looking very happy. Funnily enough.

Greg Hill bluffs off much of his stack to the same unknown Croation that Luca had tried to bluff earlier - he obviously has a short term memory.
Unknown Croation, casino manager, 38K at this point.
Luca has 30K, greg 10K, Howard S 24K, Lothar 10K Rummit 10K.

After a long up hill struggle Blondie eventualy picks up aces to reach 19K from 16K, only to then be dealt aces again against the unknown Croation - his re-raise does not enduce a pass - the Croation then flops a set of sevens on a 743 flop and Blondie is out!! :o

Croation moves up to a tidy 57K

A break has just finished with the blinds now at 300 - 600 and ante of 75
135 players are left.

Willie Tann has just gone out.
Henning has 35K
Joe Beavers has 17K
There are also some big 70 and 80K stacks out there to unknown players. Prob scandinavian by the looks of them

 Ross now looks down to find he has 88 V's A10. Flop comes A - 10 - 8
A10 goes all in for 12K and Ross calls.
The turn is ....can you beleive it.... an 8!!! :o

 8) Hi Fellas sorry Rhowena was knackered - I have taken over

Luke Smith has just taken the chip lead.
He called a raise with K10 (the raiser had AK)
The flop was K 10 5 and all the chips went in

Luke has about 120,000

Ross Boatman is on the same table with 55,000

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: elblondie on March 11, 2005, 12:31:35 AM
 8) 117 Players left
Blinds are 300/600 with a running ante of 75

They are in for a late night - this and one more level to go.
Each level is 75 minutes - looks like a 3.15 finish Austrian time

And it certainly doesn't look like we will get down to 27 players !
(which was the original objective)

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: elblondie on March 11, 2005, 12:35:45 AM
 :o
Runit went out on the same table as me.
He had Aces last hand before the break against AQ who made a flush.
This left Rumit with 2000 chips a ten minute break before his 600 big blind. Two players go all in, he looks down to find Aces again.
Needless to say ...they lost again
He says he is now looking for a coach to Bratislava, so he can catch the first plane back in the morning.

We still think Luke Smith has the chip lead with about 120,000
Gary The Whacker Bush has reached 26,000 (he played his 4th hand of the night)
Joe Gresch is playing well again - 55,000
John Gale 25,000
Joe Beevers 20,000
Robert Cooper from the Mayfair game is chip leader on his table with 60,000

 8)Luke Smith from Ladbrokes - Doc12345 - is definately chip leader - about 112,000

Greg Hill 14,000 has regained his composure

Bad Girl Pham is looking good (isn't she always?) --- 58,000

Tikay is surviving on the table of big stacks....with his small stack - 15,000

I would suggest you make a guess of somehwre around that.

He has had a steady tournament 20,000 and knocked Simon Trumper out KK vTT

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: Ironside on March 11, 2005, 01:19:08 AM
with 45 players left it would have been 4-5 times average

every time i play a tourny guy on my right always seems to have that

guess i just worked out where the fish on my table is

left of the guy with all the chips

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: elblondie on March 11, 2005, 01:23:46 AM
Tony Ure down to 10,000
Local Hero Harry Casagrande has 30,000 (he was asleep in his chips in the Omaha comp - lets hope he can stay awake till the end of day)
Nick Sz 13,000 Michael Keiner struggling with 6,000
Jon Shoreman struggling with 7,000 - so the pokerineurope.com reports may improve shortly
French ace Paul Testud has 21,000
James Browning has 15,000 (from the toon carlo)
Bad Girls boyfriend still aint smokin - 20,000
Karl Sohelmes 19,000

errr... I have a slight problem in that I dont know the names of most of the big stacks... they are all new faces

Wow - our chip leader just made an astonishing play.
Steamer crazy internbet player just opened for 40,000 to steal the blinds !!!!
Only Luke was sitting with QQ.
He thought for an age, and then some more.
Told his opponent that he was passing Queens 'case he knew he had AK and didnt want to coin flip...
....
and then...
the Big Blind called with AA
lucky Luke made a great pass

Title: Re: EPT Vienna

Tikay has in fact sneaked up to 22,000 without playing a pot (I cant work that out)
Ross 55,000
Bad girl 55,000

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: elblondie on March 11, 2005, 01:41:22 AM
Greg Hill finally bites the dust - ran AK into AA
Luca Pegano (who has made 2 out 3 EPT final tables) is playing very well - 35,000
Sorry Ross has 65,000 not 55,000

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: The Camel on March 11, 2005, 01:42:37 AM
hi Stuart. Good luck in Monte Carlo if you're going.

I thought I read earlier that Bushy was on Luke's table and raising to 40k to nick the blinds sounded like the sort of move he would make these days as he plays all razzle dazzle since he joined the ranks of the sponsored.

I put 2 and 2 together and worked out it must of been the Whacker.

Title: Re: EPT Vienna
Post by: elblondie on March 11, 2005, 01:43:14 AM
John Walsh 55,000
Bushy 21,000
Pascal 19,000
Noah B 20,000 (after being down to 600 in early stages)
Marcel went out early - as did Ram and Devilfish

85 players left
we wont make 27, 45 or even 75
they are in for a long day tomorrow

83 left and "Denis Kharitovov 146,875 (chip leader)"

my 320k wont be too far away for 45

my unexact maths says at 45 if the leaders stack grows
at same rate the leader would have 275k

then you add a little for the change amount of smaller
stacks getting bullied and hey presto

just wish i was a gambling man

Latest Odds to win the Tourney from Intertops.com  http://www.intertops.com/sportsbook/cgi-win-2/itwww.exe

Tikay, Joe B and Smokin out at 80/1, while chip leader Denis K is a 12/1 shot.

Bad Girl poised at 22/1.

GREAT coverage. Thanks Dave, Rhowena. :)

Thanks Bookiebasher aka Lucky jim. A nottingham raise, the 'ol 9-4 off jobbie? Nah, I can only do it if there is a muppet sat to my left.......

Ok, gotta go, cards in the air in 45 mins. tikay 80/1 with intertops? LAY!

At the odds offered, I actually fancy the William Hill duo of Smokin Steve Vladar (fancy Steve?, ooh-er) and Xuyen Bad Girl Pham - no probs fancying Bad Girl, the whole WORLD does, eh? And Luke Smith gotta be a good bet, too.

OK, I'm outa here.

Good news for all you Tikay lovers out there.
An almost immediate double through to 40K!!

American lady raises and one gets flat caller.  Tikay smells value and lumps in his last 18K.
US lady talks and dwells before flipping a coin which for some reason means she has to call'!!

Flat caller leaves the action.

Tikay 10-10 (yes, we were expecting 4-8!)
Loud mouthed American Lady A-Q

Board shows 10 high and Tikay is back in the game!
