Title: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 12, 2005, 10:13:30 PM
Hand 1 rob limps on the button with qt and sb raises to 1100 (200 bb) with kq. Rob passes and when asked declares A8....start as you mean to go on with the porkies rob but NO MORE LIMPING in this line up.

Hand 4 and rob limps utg with 66, tony g makes it 1100 with 88 and rob takes the flop for another 900. flop qj2 and tony g bets 2000, rob considers the resteal but folds. tony g shows an 8. Stop limping mate.

Next hand sb raises 400 with qt, rob calls with k7. flop k25 and sb bets 1000, rob doubles it and wins his first pot. Commentator keeps crediting rob as being a burnley/blackpool pro- maybe he is in the next blackpool team for the heads up challenge Tikay?

robs button and cuttoff makes it 600 to go rob passes a2hearts. Flop 3 hearts and rob wouldve won a nice one. Correct fold though. Rudling tries to steal pot from ulliott for 1000 but the fish calls with 3rd pair on board.

Have to say on first impression rob couldve picked an easier line up for his shot. Fischman, ulliot and tony g is a tasty line up.

here we go

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 12, 2005, 10:47:32 PM
Tony g makes it 600 to go in the cutoff with kk and rob has aa on the sb. Rob makes it another 1200 after a bit of speach play. tony g goes allin and rob calls after a dwell up??? Fishman folded k6 so theres one out for him. Flopp j68 turn 9 and the river pairs the 8. Tony g is down to the felt and rob is a massive leader, go on rob.

devilfish is rubbing down tony g with bad beat stories from games long ago. Tony G looks like he is about to throw up on the table.

Nice time to find AA when your foe has KK...Rob leading, interesting to see if he starts bullying :D

Chips -rob almost 18k, ulliot just shy of 10 fishman about 8 and tony g is allin in the next few hands I can promise you. Dont know the other guys but if we are honest and not at all bias do we really care? Come on Rob!!!

I think the Jesse is getting confused because chubbs is there with him and he has all the chips- by general consensus the best players come from the North West region so it is an easy mistake to make.

Tony Gs BB and rob raises with QQ. Tony G folds and leaves himself with 700.

Next hand he raises with AJ lol. Tony G on the SB with 500 left after posting 200 calls with 34. Mandatory call there. The BB finds AT and lays it down. Flop KT6 and the turn gives tony a 3, river gives him a 4 for an unneccessary 2 pair. He is up to 1800 now.

Cards hitting rob in the face...10 10 on ulliots sb/fishmans bb. Raises it up and they fold it up.

Tony G allin with JJ called by ulliots a8hrts. flop 9tk turn 2 hrts giving the devil extra outs. river is the ten of clubs. He is now up to 3600. Could be trouble if he wins another one.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 12, 2005, 11:18:09 PM
fishman raise with kt, tony g reraise allin with a3, sb goes allin with ak. rob folds 33 on the bb (what choice did he have?) . Tony G needs to find the case 3 or a miracle to survive. flop q22. turn 4 and tony needs a 5 a 3 for a win or a 4 or a q for a chop. river 4 and tony g is like a nasty stain on a duvet- impossible to get rid of.

Post by: ariston on August 12, 2005, 11:33:47 PM
Tony g doubles up with k4 v 8q. He is back to 8k now. Next hand rob looks down at ten 6 utg and looks like he may be raising, I get a BPO flashback and begin to sweat but he folds.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 12, 2005, 11:36:08 PM
shortstack moves allin with 53 utg and rob calls blind with q7. Flop k26, turn 7 and he needs a 4 to survive, river is an 8 and we are down to 5 players - rob wins his first pot in a while.

Verbals galore with the fish and tony g, this is actually good to watch for once.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 12, 2005, 11:52:45 PM
rob makes it 2k to go from the button with a4. luckily the fish has no hand and neither does fishman. Use the chip lead rob. He then states if anyone reraises him from now on he isnt passing.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:03:40 AM
Fishman moves allin with J8 and walks into tony gs JJ. The BB wakes up with ak and we have a 3way (you normally pay extra for that). Flop 358 spades. turn 7 and the river is a spade. the K spades cripples Tony G once more and fishman is out. We are at 4 and rob still has the chip lead. tony g is back down to about 9k. If rudling ends up heads up with rob he will be destroyed.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:08:53 AM
Action....tony G raises 2700 on the button with 77 and rob calls with TJ. Flop comes 892 and rob moves allin. Turn J giving rob the best hand, river comes a 5 and rob has all the chips. Tony G makes a quick exit. Rob has huge kahoonas to play the stop go on Tony but good luck to him.  rob 28k rudling 12k ulliot 10k. This could be over quickly and rob has made sure the remaining 2 know he isnt going to be pushed around.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:11:11 AM
rob limps with j8 and the flop comes 358, check check. turn is a 2 and the river is a 6. Devilfish does well to not go allin with his 67 (open ended on flop). He got 1k on the turn but rob takes another nice one down.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:12:22 AM
next hand rob raises on the button with 55, the devil wakes up with kk and makes it 4k to go (rob made it 2k so the double the raise hopefully will give him a clue).

He sticks him allin after reading it perfectly and saying he may have a monster. Rob needs a 5.......... and he flops it but there are 3 hearts on board to match ulliots king. turn 6 spades and the river is..... the jack of clubs. we are heads up and rob has a huge lead.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:17:31 AM
Sometime your feel for the game tells you that you are beat but you cant resist sticking your chips in (BPO flashback again lol). Rob knew in his heart he was beat but he stuck his dough in and got lucky, good on you Rob now finish this guy so I can go to bed.

matey takes the next 2 pots with raises and on the 3rd raise rob calls mateys bet. board k2353 with 3 clubs. Ace high wins from matey and its not like rob to not have a stab at that one on any street. dont get passive now rob, you play enough heads up with chubbs and co.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:33:10 AM
rob limps with a5 spades. flop kt6. mateys ten 3 hits the lead he bets 2k. turn 3 and matey checks to rob who falls for it with a 5k bet. Matey goes allin and rob has to fold.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 13, 2005, 12:37:31 AM
next hand matey raises to 3k with 22. rob goes allin with a5 for 16k. he surely cant call with the ducks nomatter what the commentators say. its 13k more to go and he calls..noooooooooooooooo

flop 346....turn 5 gives matey a str8 and the river is a 6...rob finishes 2nd after a valiant effort. Unlucky mate.

I see robyong on the members online list.
a) it's not live, what a swizz.
b) rushed to Gutshot and logged on to look at what cards opponents had.
c) most likely, family or friend following his progress. played a blinder didn't he?

Personally I thought Dave Rudling played a good game and was the deserved winner - and the above quote that he will get destoyed is a bit strong in HU when talking about a player Ariston claims not to know!

I know you are all rooting for Rob as a forumite but fair play to the Ruders.

He had a good week, 4th in the European at the VIC for £40k and picked up £50k in the DEN.  Nice one Dave.

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: ariston on August 18, 2005, 12:03:59 PM
There was no offence meant to rudling but Rob is normally a heads up specialist. Also as Rob is a mate I was obviously rooting for him so my comments may have been a little biased. With the huge chip lead I did expect it to be a formaility- ooops. Dave did well and fair play to him but I think a large percentage of people following the thread will have been rooting for rob- you have to give the readers what they want !

Title: Re: Poker den- yongsters TV debut
Post by: Dirk Diggler on August 18, 2005, 12:16:39 PM
I dont think your comments were offencive (and i don't think Dave would take them as such either) and fully understandable that most people would be rooting for Rob.  Nout wrong with a bit of healthy support for your man.  Anyways, all fair and all that....

Dirk, did you know that there is a card room opening in Colchester mid September, HALLELUJAH !!!!
Its gonna be above Molly malones Pub on St. Botolphs roundabout, not much info as yet, but looks promising... could you let Dave know, and perhaps we could get a meet up and a pint organised sometime .

Cheers
Kev.

Kev, thanks for that info - I had no idea!  keep us informed of any developments...

I'll get word to Dave - I know he plays a couple of bigish games round Colchester (or at least used to, not sure if they still exist) so he may well know something about it anyway, but would be good to all get down there for a game and a beer if it gets off the ground.
