Board = 5d 7c 6d 7h 4d

Lindgren bets 35k, Franklin calls

both show J-8

Boy, this is gonna be tough, it's too crowded in there and the final table feels like miles away.

(1) Jeff Madsen takes the blinds

(2) The announcer, who is bald, calls for cocktails (which doesn't make sense because they all ordered beers)

(3) Gaskell takes the blinds

(4) Tony Woods raises 55k, Gaskell (seated next door) pumps it up to 225k, Woods thinks then folds.

(1) Tony woods takes the blinds

(2) Captain Tom Franklin is given a walk, which is good because he's getting old and needs the exercise

(3) Gaskell raises 50k preflop, Lindgren calls from the big blind. Both check the Ac-5d-Qs flop, then bets 65k on the 7h turn. Lindgren calls. Both check the 6c River. Gaskell wins, K-Q

(4) Then some baboon left his bag in the aisle, I tripped over, and now my toenail seems to be hanging off.

If there's one of these finalists who'll know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em, it's this guy.

Good luck Pab, and isn't Gaskell a Brit as well?

(1) Woods raises 55k, Lindgren makes it 180k, Woods folds.

(2) Tony takes the blinds with a 55k raise

(3) Pab wins a pot, just the blinds though.

Lindgren seems to be a cut above here.

Pab's remaining patient.

Action at last!

Info courtesy of bearded guy on the rail. What a star!  *g

Gaskell pushes from the small to Franklin in the big.

shortstacked Franklin calls with Qs 9s, Gaskell has J-7

Queen on flop, 7 on turn, but Kenny Rogers survives and won't need to know when to walk away just yet.

(1) 2h 2d Ad

Tony bets 20k, Gaskell folds

(2) Erick raises 45k preflop, Gaskell (sb) and Franklin (bb) call.

Erick wins after betting 7d 3h Qh flop

(3) Battle of blinds - Franklin and Lindgren check down 9h Ahrt 8c 6h Kc board. Captain has K-T. Surprised he didn't bet the river, but I doubt it's a 'same village' thing.

(4) Jeff takes the blinds, one of which is Pab's Big

Tom Franklin has doubled up courtesy of Gaskell... again (!)

Gaskell raised to 50k preflop, Franklin moved in for another 119k. (the dude on the mic said 120k by mistake - SACK HIM!)

Gaskell called

Ac Tc v Franklin's Ad Qh

Board was harmless

5-K-3-K-J

Woods adds another 120k

Pab folds, would have been pretty much all-in

he's down to about 110-120k

Well, I guess he just never got the cards when he needed them

Nevertheless, a cracking performance to plough through a wsop field and make the final table.

I'm sure he'll be chuffed to pieces when he hears of how many blondeites were following his progress and sending out good luck messages.

It must be tough to sit at a final table in that spotlight, especially as every time you think about moving someone gets in first... Ul Pab, but we are all proud of you mate.

Just treat this as a rehearsal for your appearance in the main event final.

Just treat this as a rehearsal for your appearance in the main event final.

Jeff Madsen is his third final, William Chen has already won 2 bracelets, and the standard overall appears to be pretty shoddy...

... so I don't see why not.

Flop = 3s 5s Kc

Lindgren bets 75k

Madsen folds

Franklin calls

Turn = 7d

Both check

River = 3h

check, check

Lindgren wins with 5s 4s

Franklin mucks, but I saw the Ahrt as he threw them in.

Keep that under your hat though.

Tom Franklin doubles up through Lindgren.

Board shows Js 9d 5s 2d

Lindgren bets 55k, Franklin calls.

River = Aspades

Franklin announces all-in, Lindgren calls.

Lindgren has J-J for a set, but Franklin takes it down with the Q-3 of spades.

As expected, it was a coinflip situation.

Lindgren = Js Jd

Woods = Ahrt Kh

all-in preflop

Board = Td 2c 7d 4h 2h

There are some really unsympathetic Lindgrenites in the crowd, jumping out of their seats, high fiving and shouting various crap.

Have to feel sorry for Tony Woods.

Flop = 9h 6d 3d

Lindgren bets, Madsen calls.

Turn = Ahrt

Lindgren bets out again, and Madsen calls... again

River = Td

Madsen bets out 150k, Lindgren folds.

I just want to add that Pab was very unlucky on the final table. He was card dead and every small stack around him was offered a charity double up whilst he had to grind it out. You couldn't have written a worse script.

Only a fantastic, world class call by Lindgren about an hour in stopped Pab having a great shot at it. That pot was the difference between 2nd in chips and very little manouverability.

All I can say is that is the first of many finals for Pab. What a class act.

(The all dayer and night out that followed was pretty good too.)
