Chip second with 164,200 is Stuart Nash. I don't know a deal about this guy, except that I see him running well in a lot of decent comps.

Bruno has 155k, & this guy has pedigree, despite being French. Winner of the World Heads Up title in 2001, & plenty of big Finals to his credit. Plays cash at The Aviation Club (which I think he runs) for serious money, I saw him with over 100k (Euros) in front of him several times when I was in Paris last year. Has great table presence, charisma, & is a real class act.

King Richard Ashby, 128,000. Well you all know of Richard, & he'd be a popular winner. Wont sit on his stack though, & will either get a heap of chips quickly, or lose them, he's a "player" in every sense.

Simon Nowab, 108,000. What a remarkable double it would be for The Burnley Twins if Simon could win this, following John Falconer's victory in Dublin last week. Simon finalled in the Vienna EPT, but did not seem to be to play his best game that day. There will be a HUGE cheer if Simon does the bizz today.

More to follow.....

Jan Boubli, 93,900. A whole heap of podium finishes, mainly at The Aviation Club in Paris, & including runner up in a WPT in Paris a few years back. Must have a great game, though all I saw him do was move all-in time after time yesterday. I bet 5k with QQ, he went "all-in, 40k".....! But he got the chips with his monster AJ, & the guy is clearly fearless. One of a big contingent of French players here this week.

Trevor Reardon, 88,500. Finalled in the Walsall 250 a few weeks back, & went deep in the Walsall Main Event, his AT being scupppered by El Blondie's quad 8's. A lovely fella, whose game is coming on leaps & bounds.

Carmy Banin, 85,000. I just know he's a proper gent, a lovely guy who is much respected, & is Prince Charles brother. Seems to run well at The Vic, where he has gone close twice in biggies.

More shortly......

Whoops, thanks Blue Square, I missed Chris Singh, sorry guys!

Chris Singh, 206,000. Had a huge double up when he outdrew Devilfish's TT with 99. Got 3rd in the Walsall whopper that El Blondie won. This guy will create plenty of headaches for everyone today, he moves in with any two cards, & has no fear of losing.

Horace Harvey, 88,000. Don't know Horace, but I believe he Finalled earlier this week.

Nik Whiten, 76,900. The "other half" of Notts Rob Yong, & the sole Notts survivor. Easily his best performance ever, & this guy will not yield his chips easily. May need the run of the cards to win as he lacks experience at this level, but he can play. And I must confess I am biased, as he is a good mate of mine, but I really hope he does well today, he is as nice a guy as you could wish to meet. Has a degree in Flower Arranging.

P Murrell, 76,300. Help! Don't know the fella, I'm afraid. Think he's a Vic regular.

Vicky Coren, 74,800. Wow, what a cheer there would be if Vicky won this! Half a dozen finals at The Vic, but this coluld be her biggest poker payday ever. A seriously talented journalist, who has a very sharp brain and a wonderful way with words. A lady in every sense of the word.

C. Gabrielle 45,800.

Ian Woodley 44,000. Had a terrific week already, & won the 200 earlier this week, scooping 27k. Cant believe I never saw him yesterday, but I did not. Has the game to go deep today.

R Donning, 45,000. I believe this guy won an internet qualifier, & this is maybe his first live tourney. If so, that's awesome!

Les Dangeroux - Robert Cohen? - has staged an amazing comeback from about 2k with a series olf all-ins. Always smiling, speaks no English, hard to dislike him despite being French. I believe his wife is tuned in to blonde watching this - but she does not speak english either! And I don't speak French, so that's an end to that......

i can speak a little french if you need an interupertor

problem is i can't write a single word of it

but i know of a young lady that speaks it well

you just need to ask for her assistance

The guy we have listed as "Johnson", I think that's Brian Johnstone. He had over 100k an hour before the close, but is down to 18k now, so I guess he met with an "incident".......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two

The players are just signing the TV disclaimer forms, so you are not missing any action, they ain't started yet.....But Bruno will if he don't hurry up!

think they get 30 minutes to turn up if after 30 minutes they havent taken their seat they have to lift the chips from the table

tv disclaimer forms?  is that for 425? and why so earcly surely 425 will only take in the final 9 or so

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 02:44:59 PM
Yup, if they do not arrive, they will be anted away. Mind you, Bruno has enough chips to last most of the night! Hellmuth is a habitual "late arriver", & Mr Colclough usually cuts it fine. Me, when I return on Day Two, I need to be on time, it'd only take 1 hand to ante me away.......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 02:46:30 PM

Ironside, the "take the chips off the table" rule applies to the START of a comp. At this stage, they get ante'd.

well last year mate was stuck in traffic and was told he had 30 minutes to get to the casino before his chips was lifted (day 2)

he got in with 2 minutes to spare sat at seat before he went to bathroom

First casualty of the day is Jac Arama, OUT.

He is a fine fella off the table, but on the table, he has an awful habit of giving oppos the rubdown after outdrawing 'em. He did it three times yesterday, followed by table banging & holloring. Such a shame.

TK can you wish luck to my pal Warren Wooldridge. He is making a rare tournament outing in the UK but as you can see from the database over at HM he was top Britain at WSOP in several events last year.He plays in BIG private cash games and is a huge winner. I would advise anyone to get on at 50's.

Redsimon, Ironside is in charge of the "putting pics on" department, ask him, he'll sort it. We don't pay him nothing for doing nothing.
Notts County, Nottingham County, what's the difference?

Comeback of the day so far - Brian Johnson is on the march, up from 18k to 65k according to Jac Arama. I gather he moved in with 6-7 against AJ & caught the 6.

Brian's a nice guy, we wish him well.

Good afternoon Tikay, fine reporting as per usual.

Personally I'm rooting for Robert 'le dangereux', after what he did to Helmuth on LNP
He's been one of my heros since then.

Big thank you to Ironside who spent about an hour and a half last night sorting out my picture on here.
It would normally have taken ten minutes, but my computer skills came into the equation.

 ???

PS Jac is a slow-rolling pain in the botty

Thanks Karabiner. I am pleased Ironside got you sorted.

And Jac? Yeah, it really is such a shame, he's a smashing fella off the table, but his on-table antics are not my cup of tea, slow-rolls & rubdowns aint the way to go. And surely, what sponsor would condone it? "Get a rubdown from our Sponsored player". Yeah, right....

Guess I am just an old fuddy duddy.....

5 minute break now......

Brian Johnson doubles up AGAIN!

He had the absolutes - QJ on a board of A-K-T-x-x. He moved in when he hit the flop, & Tanchel, holding 88, clearly thought he was at it, & called with ....8-8!

Huge pot, chip counts for both in a mo......

Isabelle is sweating Bruno from what I can see, maybe they've swapped a few %. Isabelle admitted that her exit hand last night was a dubious play. I must say, it was a most un-Isabelle play, she normally gets her chips in with the goods, but she was way behind Vicky Coren, I think it was 77 v QQ.

It should be a corking Final.

Here's my first post on this forum, registered just to say thanks for the coverage. I was at the Vic last night, to see an acquaintance who had won a ticket from last Saturday's satellite. It was mayhem, struggle even to get to the bar,so this is a great service now I can have a scotch in peace.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 08:19:20 PM
Just a reminder, they are due to restart at 8.30.

And Ironside & me are both sitting on the same fence, not wanting to nominate a winner yet awhile.......

From a personal perspective, it has to be Nik Whiten - he's a special bud of mine, and a Notts boy, or Simon Nowab, who deserves a big victory.

But the best player? Bruno looks the class act to me.

HI Tony Great Reporting Mate-How are you ?

Ive really enjoyed all your reporting in recent weeks especially "Burnley" John's heroic performance in Dublin last week !

Ive been off the scene for a bit Im doing my House up but when its finished i can't wait to get back on the Circuit and help the Blackpool Boys dominate further ! Im on the new Poker Channel Sky 265 on 12 April for the British Poker Open and I want to borrow some Burnley Clover from Burnley John or Simon to bring me luck !!

You ask for my predictions;

I predict Tony Kendall and the lovely Rhowena will be given Reporters of the Year !!

I predict Carlo will bring back the famous dwell up for 45 mins the next televised final he is in !!

As for this Vic Biggie-I'd love my mate Simon Nowab to win-give him my best tikay-but he's a bit low if he can't do it ill go for

1. BRUNO
2. JAN BOUBLI
3. STUART NASH

Tikay-Lets get it on Blackpool vs. Nottingham you pick 10 i'll pick 10 well beat you out of sight !! If you lose well give you 10% of your money back that's how confident we are !!

Give my regards to Dave Tikay All the Best Mate See you soon

Kind Regards

The Nugget

Tony, I remember his moves in the walsall final. Didn't he get called after another all in move by Foxy or Junior and show 4 5 off?

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:01:22 PM
Still no sign of the players energing from Dinner!

But meanwhile, they have prepared the "Final" Table, though we still need to lose a couple of players.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:03:13 PM

That's correct Bobby - well almost! He had 4-5 off, for all his chips, & Dave Colclough, after a huge dwell to try & get info from Chris, eventually called with KQ, & they both hit.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:05:45 PM

OK, they have called the players back, we will soon be up & running.

Gonna be a late night, I fancy, with a 2 hour+ drive home to follow. Soooo glad I retired from "proper work", so I could fade away quietly.......

Ay-up, the French are bullying already. Bruno, & Jan Boubli - on different tables - have both RR'd all-in, & forced the original Raisers to pass.

So that's how it's gonna be, is it?

Man gone, & bad news for the Blackpool boys - Simon Nowab is OUT........

He had A-4, Nik Whiten had Q-T, & Nik made the boat.

So, Simon Nowab out 12th.

Unlucky Simon, great effort, your turn is not far away. Chin up fella, we are well proud of you......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:24:48 PM

Bruno is bullying again!

He moves Brian Johnson off his hand yet again, by moving all-in.

Bruno has set his stall out now, & is playing his deep stack a treat....

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:39:45 PM

DOWN TO 10!

Paul Murrell, low stacked, moved with J-7, Stuart Nash took him on with Q-T, & Stu hit his Q.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:43:17 PM

Wow, Jan Boubli just took a 120k pot on a board of 4-8-4-4-A with a bare King! His oppo was Cemal Alp, but nobody killed......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:46:43 PM

Blinds now 5k-10k, running antes 1k. On two tables of 5, thats SERIOUSLY painful........

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 09:53:28 PM
Chris The Terrorist Singh has suddenly woken up, & turned the tables on Bruno by moving all-in on him.

Bruno gives it a dwell before passing, saying with a wry smile, "almost", next time I call".......Chris just hrugs his shoulders. He's made of stern stuff.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:03:54 PM

Stuart Nash takes a leaf out of Chris Singh's book & fires back at Bruno, taking a tidy pot & moving up to about 200k.

They have sussed Bruno's lark methinks........Careful boys, tug the tiger's tail & all that......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:07:48 PM

it's gonna be a 9 man Final, & we have two tables of 5 right now (5 & 5 makes 10, for Ironside's benefit...), so it's a bit cat & mouse right now, nobody wants to be Bubble Boy!

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:10:24 PM

It's 10.10pm, & we aint got a Final yet - boy, this could be an all-nighter! Assume a half hour break once the poor sod who bubbles departs, so it will be nearly 11pm before the Final begins.....

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:20:22 PM
Cemal Alp and Jan Boubli clash. Jan had KQ, Alp had A-T, board was K-6-A-9-A. Alp bet every street, till he was all-in, Jan called every street, nice pot to Cemal Alp.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:24:03 PM

Bruno now decided that Brian Johnson is the easiest man to attack, & has just bullied him yet again, forcing Brian to let go. Brian could be setting Bruno up......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: Foxy on April 03, 2005, 10:24:30 PM
Hi Tony your doing a grand job. I did not know how unlucky you was to get busted out the main event also Greg Hill was also very unlucky to get knocked out earlyer on I was on his table when he was all in pre flop holding KK vrs Jac Aramas QQ only for Jac to find a Queen on the board for a huge pot. Simon from Blackpool also played a good game and is a jolly nice guy, see you chaps in Luton or Gutshot saturday. Foxy baaby

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:27:29 PM

We ALMOST had a Final, but it was not to be.

Brian, bullied down to 70k or so by Bruno, made a stand with 77 against Wooldridge's JJ. Board came 9-8-SEVEN - 4 A, & Brian survives. He really has fought his heart out, & deserves a bit of luck. Tough for his oppo though, he was HUGE fave pre-flop.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:33:34 PM

Nik Whiten just RR'd Cemal Alp for the umpteenth time. Cemal passes, wags a finger at Nik, & says sternly "that's the LAST time boy, NEXT time I call". Ooh-er......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:39:21 PM

Dodging Bullets Department:

Flop comes A-Q-T, all diamonds. Brian Johnson has K-J, both black, for nut str8, & bets 25k. Stuart Nash calls. A fourth diamond comes. Check check on the turn.  Stuart bets on the end, Brian passes his nut straight, Stuart shows the bare K of diamonds for the absolute coconuts!

WHAT A PASS! Well dodged Brian.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 03, 2005, 10:42:05 PM

Ian Woodley & Cemal Alp clash, pot is 250k before Cemal Alp passes (Alp passes!), & Ian shows KK!

Cemal is down to 60k, and won't be backing down next time, that's for sure.

Nik Whiten starts the action, raising 30.5 UTG - don't forget the .5 - and all pass till it gets to Bruno, in the BB, who has a dwell before passing.

Alp raises 28k, Bruno Reraises 60k on top. Alps dwells, then passes. Bruno wants these guys to know he's the man........

Next hand, Bruno's turn now, & he raises AGAIN........

Each player dwells, give Bruno a dirty look, give it the pained expression bit, before passing.

Someone gonna have to make a stand soon........

20 minutes gone, no casualties yet.

Bruno & Nik Whiten have a mini battle for the blinds, but it's handbags at 9 paces, & Nik takes a 60k pot. Nik aint gonna be pushed about, and he has position on Bruno.

But it gets serious when Brian Johnson moves in, & Alp calls. Alp has AQ, & Brian has QJ.

Board comes A-K-T-x-x, Brian hits the NUTS!

Alp is not out, but he's in bad shape.

Jan Boubli invites himself to the party, moving all-in, which is his stock move. Everyone passes. Good pass, he'd have five-flushed it..........

Btrian Johnson now tries the Raise trick, & finds it's a cinch - they all pass. This could catch on. I reckon they all been watching Thewy.

Uh-oh, trouble.

Chris The Terrorist Singh moves all-in, Andy Church calls. Chris has AJ, Andy has AQ, board is all blanks.

Chris covers Andy & survives, but is in intensive care now, along with Cemal Alp.

Bruno makes it 30k to go. Nik Whiten Reraises 63.5 - 63.5! Alp calls all-in for about 12k. Bruno gives Nik a dirty look before passing.

On their backs. Nik shows KING KING....! Alp shows - WHAT? - 2-4 off...!

And no fairytale ending for Alp, as Nik catches his set!

Cemal Alp OUT ninth!

Andy Church definitely making his move to win this now. He and Nik Whiten jointly invest 100k in the pot pre-flop, which comes A high, all diamonds. Andy moves his entire mountain of chips in, & Nik reluctantly yields.

Brian Johnson, in a bit of trouble, extracts every possible chip from Ian Woodley when he plays his AA cleverly, allowing Ian to catch up just a nadge. Brian back in this with maybe 250k, & it's Ian Woodley's turn to be in a spot of bother now, down to maybe 75k

Bruno had AJ, Stuart Nash had AQ, & all the chips were in before they took a flop. No imrovement for either, so Stuart doubles through, he's our new chip leader, & Bruno has to start rebuilding again. But at these blinds, he could soon be back where he was before he ended up where he is.

And Stuart turns over & goes back to sleep.

Tony had AA !

tikay? does he play anything else?

and what did you have?

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 04, 2005, 02:22:20 AM
Now it's Ian Woodley's turn to double up at poor Bruno's expense. Bruno has 55, Ian has J-8, & catches his J.

Bruno needs to get busy FAST, he is down to maybe 110k.

KJ of clubs on a 2 3 5 flop with two clubs , Tony had limped after a first position limper , put him on 88 or 99 , thought i had 15 outs twice .

Man Down!

Jan Boubli is OUT. He was dominated with Q-T against Brian Johnsons AQ. Flop was an awesome (for Brian) A-A-7......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 04, 2005, 02:26:31 AM

Jan exited in 7th, great effort from the Frenchman.

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 04, 2005, 02:28:36 AM

The blinds have forced these guys to play now, & Bruno gets his 120k all-in with A-8, but is dominated by Brian Johnson's AK.

Biut there is a gasp from the rail as the 8 drops, & Bruno doubles up, after two beats in a row.

Falling thick & fast now.

Brian Johnson's brave performance is over, he is OUT in 6th.

He had AQ, Andy Church had 6-6, & not only did Brian fail to hit, Andy hit his set!

A terrific & game performance from Brian, hard luck fella, but you gave it your best.

wow they are really motoring now looks like someone told them the bars closed

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two
Post by: tikay on April 04, 2005, 02:35:49 AM

Andy Church is mowing 'em down here, now he busts Bruno. Bruno has 99, Andy has QQ, & flops his set.

I never thought I would say this, but a great effort by the French man, you had to admire his aggression & guile.

So, Bruno OUT 5th, for 12,000 plus........

Molst of the chips are shared by Stuart (who's still fast asleep) & Andy Church, but Nik & Ian are not dead yet.

Fear not Ironside, Julian will have a bad beat tale. "My 4-7 off failed to hold up against 4 callers" sorta thing......

Title: Re: The Vic Biggie - Day Two

So we are 3 handed, but three's a crowd, & Ian Woodley has it all to do against the two deep stacks.

So we are heads-up between Andy Church & Stuart Nash.

Andy Church has 1,170,000. Stuart has 750,000. As near as makes no difference.

kipster your picture is in a passowrd protected area

means everyone is going to get asked for a password every time they
read a page you have posted on (a password they wont know)

i would recomend using a pic that isnt password protected makes it easier for everyone else

And Andy Church finishes it off in style - with Quad Fours! I don't know what suits the quads were, but I am told there were one of each.

And that was enough to win the hand, the chips, the money, & the whole kaboodle.

Congats to both of them, indeed all the Finalists.
