Welcome to blonde Live Update for Day Two of The Vic 1,500 Freezeout.

The Ovrnight Chip Counts are at the end of yesterday's Live Update thread.

I will take you through the runners & riders shortly, just bear with me while I try & suss out who is who.

I don't know some of these guys, so in true blonde fashion, if any blonde-ites out there have any background info on any of todays combatants, please post on this thread, we would wlcome your input.

And if you have a particular player you want to follow, let us know, & we willl keep a special eye out for them.

good luck Nick Whiten.  Its been at least 2 weeks since a big Notts victory!  -we are letting standards slip.

24 players left, ave chips now about 70k, average for the Final will be around 191k.

Chip second with 164,200 is Stuart Nash. I don't know a deal about this guy, except that I see him running well in a lot of decent comps.

Bruno has 155k, & this guy has pedigree, despite being French. Winner of the World Heads Up title in 2001, & plenty of big Finals to his credit. Plays cash at The Aviation Club (which I think he runs) for serious money, I saw him with over 100k (Euros) in front of him several times when I was in Paris last year. Has great table presence, charisma, & is a real class act.

King Richard Ashby, 128,000. Well you all know of Richard, & he'd be a popular winner. Wont sit on his stack though, & will either get a heap of chips quickly, or lose them, he's a "player" in every sense.


Simon Nowab, 108,000. What a remarkable double it would be for The Burnley Twins if Simon could win this, following John Falconer's victory in Dublin last week. Simon finalled in the Vienna EPT, but did not seem to be to play his best game that day. There will be a HUGE cheer if Simon does the bizz today.

Jan Boubli, 93,900. A whole heap of podium finishes, mainly at The Aviation Club in Paris, & including runner up in a WPT in Paris a few years back. Must have a great game, though all I saw him do was move all-in time after time yesterday. I bet 5k with QQ, he went "all-in, 40k".....! But he got the chips with his monster AJ, & the guy is clearly fearless. One of a big contingent of French players here this week.


Trevor Reardon, 88,500. Finalled in the Walsall 250 a few weeks back, & went deep in the Walsall Main Event, his AT being scupppered by El Blondie's quad 8's. A lovely fella, whose game is coming on leaps & bounds.

Carmy Banin, 85,000. I just know he's a proper gent, a lovely guy who is much respected, & is Prince Charles brother. Seems to run well at The Vic, where he has gone close twice in biggies.

Chris Singh, 206,000. Had a huge double up when he outdrew Devilfish's TT with 99. Got 3rd in the Walsall whopper that El Blondie won. This guy will create plenty of headaches for everyone today, he moves in with any two cards, & has no fear of losing.

Can't believe I omitted the Chip Leader.

Horace Harvey, 88,000. Don't know Horace, but I believe he Finalled earlier this week.

Nik Whiten, 76,900. The "other half" of Notts Rob Yong, & the sole Notts survivor. Easily his best performance ever, & this guy will not yield his chips easily. May need the run of the cards to win as he lacks experience at this level, but he can play. And I must confess I am biased, as he is a good mate of mine, but I really hope he does well today, he is as nice a guy as you could wish to meet. Has a degree in Flower Arranging.

P Murrell, 76,300. Help! Don't know the fella, I'm afraid. Think he's a Vic regular.

Vicky Coren, 74,800. Wow, what a cheer there would be if Vicky won this! Half a dozen finals at The Vic, but this coluld be her biggest poker payday ever. A seriously talented journalist, who has a very sharp brain and a wonderful way with words. A lady in every sense of the word.

OK, better get myself across to The Vic & get set up, then the Preview will continue.

Ian Woodley 44,000. Had a terrific week already, & won the 200 earlier this week, scooping 27k. Cant believe I never saw him yesterday, but I did not. Has the game to go deep today.

R Donning, 45,000. I believe this guy won an internet qualifier, & this is maybe his first live tourney. If so, that's awesome!

Les Dangeroux - Robert Cohen? - has staged an amazing comeback from about 2k with a series olf all-ins. Always smiling, speaks no English, hard to dislike him despite being French. I believe his wife is tuned in to blonde watching this - but she does not speak english either! And I don't speak French, so that's an end to that......

i can speak a little french if you need an interupertor

Yup, if they do not arrive, they will be anted away. Mind you, Bruno has enough chips to last most of the night! Hellmuth is a habitual "late arriver", & Mr Colclough usually cuts it fine. Me, when I return on Day Two, I need to be on time, it'd only take 1 hand to ante me away.......

Ironside, the "take the chips off the table" rule applies to the START of a comp. At this stage, they get ante'd.

Bruno is struggling with the colours of the chips, he has his 5k's mixed up with his 100's, so it's hard to see how many chips he has, but it must be 200k+. I just asked him what part of Spain he came from. Bruno looked dumbstruck, other players at table collapsed with laugher......

Brian confirmed that when Bruno gave him the staredown after Brian moved in, he had AA. Well, almost - he actually had A-5.....!

Brian Johnson is up to 200k! Tanchel is crippled with 20k, so he's gonna have to move a bit sharpish now.

I always like a pre match bath before the 20 rebuy starts. Sets me up nicely for the battle ahead....playing in some of these comps would require a pre match' sit down in the small boys room' for about an hour.

Maybe I can get a chip count for Bruno now. He'd done a Marcel, & hoarded all the low denom chips, so it was well nigh impossible to get a count on him, but I'll take a look now......

Bruno has 170k. He says "add those 120k, I will have them soon" pointing to ian Woodley's stack. Ian fired back in kind, all good-natured stuff. Comp is being played in a nice spirit

Isabelle is sweating Bruno from what I can see, maybe they've swapped a few %. Isabelle admitted that her exit hand last night was a dubious play. I must say, it was a most un-Isabelle play, she normally gets her chips in with the goods, but she was way behind Vicky Coren, I think it was 77 v QQ.

Dinner in 10 mins. The 'ol fella needs a break! Looks like a long night in prospect, but should be a mega Final.

Nik Whiten just RR'd Cemal Alp for the umpteenth time. Cemal passes, wags a finger at Nik, & says sternly "that's the LAST time boy, NEXT time I call". Ooh-er......

So we are heads-up between Andy Church & Stuart Nash.

Andy Church has 1,170,000. Stuart has 750,000. As near as makes no difference.

Our heroes are on a short break now, composing themselves (that's code for having a wee) before they battle for the biggest amount either has ever won.
