My thoughts are with Reece, Stacey and all the family at what must be an incredibly difficult time. You'll all find the strength to cope simply because you have to, and every time you look at that wonderful smile you will know that all the stress and more would be worthwhile.

All the best, Maureen. Stay confident.

Am I right in thinking that if he does get the transplant, he has approximately a 40/60 chance of survival (according to previous stats)?

I can only echo what everyone else has said. A tough thread to read.

Life can be so cruel.

Maureen said this......

.....another child has to pass away on a life support machine for the organs to be donated......

What sort of moral dilemma is that? Praying for one's Son/Grandson to get a transplant, & thus survive, but another youngster has to die to enable the transplant. It's hard to know what to think. It's all too sad for words.

We are here for you all the way Maureen, & Stacey.

Good point.

I read all the heartfelt good wishes and thought I dont know what to say but add to the list.

Zebs post has reminded me that although I once used to carry a donor card it got lost over the years so I will make a point of getting a new 1.

Maureen, it was probably not your intention but before I heard about your lovely grandson I was quite happy to have a donor card but thought...they can take my bits but no one is cutting up my kids if anything happens to them.

I pray to god they grow up safe and strong but you have now put seeds of thoughts in my mind...I hope I would be strong enough after hearing about Reece and his struggle for life to sign that form.

it must be very hard to even talk about you grandson,to people you dont even know, but you know that in your heart the people who you are talking to over this site are all genuine, in wishing good luck and  hopefull thoughts at this very hard time.
it must be nice for you and your familly to know that if there is anything you want to share, our get of your chest, that you feel you couldnt face to face with someone is that you can come on here and pm ANYONE.

we all hope and pray that this little boy gets what is needed to make him have a good life.it must be very hard for you and your daughter at this time,im not a doctor or a surgeon but if you ever want to let it out you know you can pm me anytime and i will try to help in anyway.....regards james

Just a quick update.

Reece has managed to get yet another central line infection so until this has been treated he has to be suspended off the transplant list. We don't want this to happen too often as we are all well aware how hard it is to get a match and we do not want him to miss out on his chance. Also his bilirubin, level has risen to over the 200 mark which is not too good. This could possibly drop after the line infection has been treated. I can't see him at the moment due to this awful bug i have had this week and now a terrible cough, I can not risk giving him it as that would result in another suspension from the list.

Regards Maureen  xx
good luck mo i hope he gets well quick.,.,.,

That's awful Maureen.

Being, for once, mildly practical, did you not Post some Pics of Reece on here recently, several times in fact?

If so, can someone find them, & then, somehow, someone could copy them off or print them for you?

Anyone help with this?

I know it's only a few, but it'd help. I am so sorry.

How is the little Hero?

Maureen, Bongo has worked the oracle & found 3 pics of Reece.

One on a swing.

One on Grandad's lap on a train.

One where has has earphones & goggles on.

I am off out now, so I can tell you how to find them tomorrow, or if you PM Bongo, or let him know via this thread, he'll sort it for you.

If the pictures came from a digital camera card it may be possible to recover them from there even if you've deleted them. Just depends on whether the pics have been overwritten yet or not.

Programs like "recover my files" or similar can do this if the files have been deleted but not overwritten yet.

Just a thought and hope things work out for you

I should tell you that Vinni, aka Barry Neville, wrote to me tonight. He has some valuable sporting Momentos - signed England shirts etc - which he proposed to offer up for auction on Reece's behalf. Simon Trumper, amomg many others, have written to me in the same vein recently, & Simon keeps in contact with Maureen.

My reply was that, right now, money is not the problem, what is needed most is for the lad to get well enough to have his transplant.

It's just awful for Maureen & Stacey, & the good vibes the blondes continue to emit have, please be assured, helped Maureen & Stacey enormously.

Keep them coming.

After last weeks news about the laptop going missing we ended up having a fantastic weekend. Reece was staying here with us as Stacey was feeling a Little low, which is not too often this happens and she and her friend Tracey went away for a 2 night break.  Stacey had an absolute ball, came back with batteries fully charged, this was the first actual away from home break for 2 nights that she has had in 2 years. I have to say she did look rather tired on her return but full of beans.

Reece was in great health for the weekend too, well you know what i mean. He has just come of a course of antibiotics thus him being as well as he gets. He is mad on Nemo and Toy Story and Trains so on the Nemo side we tookhim over to Blackpool marine centre, well he was in his element,as soon as he saw the tropical fish he shouts out " I've found Nemo". We had a great time out and it was a real treat to see him sort of comfortable instead of telling us how sore he is. Fantastic...

He has also added to his singing list "you've got a friend in me", which is the end song on toy story and is also (and always has been since being very small where he used to rock in his seat every time it came on ) a lover of James Blunts "your Beautiful",, and to hear him sing them brings tears to our eyes. This little lad is one brave ans special child.

THENNNNNNNNN...back to Laptop. I called the guy up at Cat Systems early Monday to findout  if any progress, when i mentioned i wanted to go to the police etc and get the ball rolling he continues with a sob story on how ill he is too and that he is on some sort of blockers for blood pressure etc and how he shouldn't have gone to India for his holiday etccc etc etccc. I told him i have heard enough and all want to know is about the Lappy, he tells me he is going to get the lady whom the lappy was sent to for repair to call me. This she did and as it happens Evey comp that goes to her she takes a copy of the hard drive. She spent yesterday along with 3 others  searching through disks, and has managed to get 700 piccy's from MY LAPPY >>YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS....where the laptops gone i don't care,She has transferred them all onto disks too. It seems it was most probably stolen from Cat systems, he said he was going through all CCTV footage, well if thats so surly he knows something from the footage, but who cares , at this moment i am soooooo veryyyy happpyyyy, just thought i would share this good news with you.

A big Thankyou to IrishDennis for his very kind offer. XXXX

Great news and a lovely post, Heres to good times.

Then 21st another pre op Covid test, 23rd admission to LGI for more surgery, including Endoscopy whilst under general and liver biopsies.

Never ends.
