Title: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: elblondie on January 29, 2005, 05:41:50 PM
:(  I was second out of the main event -I liked a flop of A 9 5 which matched my pocket 5s, but couldn't get 'bad girl' pham to drop her two 7s. She called and hit a 7 on the turn. I wasn't good enough to pass my hand, and the vietnamese beauty put me to the sword. Set under set just doesn't work.

Chip counts will follow

Hi Tikay
Having just typed a post asking for details on Gus Hansen and Greg Raymer (and average chip count!), I got a rather cool message stating "Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post". Telepathy or what!?!
Well done on getting the forum up and running.

Hi Simon

Sorry to say Greg Raymer - who I shared a table with for 3 hours - busted out in spectacular fashion. He had AK v KK, & hit his K. Oops!

Gus is doing OK-ish, but his table is being dominated by Stuart Fox & Devilfish.

Well done guys on getting the Forum up and running. Just wondering Dave how did the betting go during that hand with Badgirl, that she decided to still call with 77?    who says you dont need luck.
Sorry to hear that you busted out , good luck in the rest of 2005

"I Know It".

Dave hit his set of 5's on an A high flop & bet it, Bad Girl called with 77 & hit her set on the turn. The rest as they say, is history.......

Bambos is in cruise mode, 24k.

Vicky Lincoln has about 15k - she looks absolutely stunning, in a French style outfit with matching black beret....Fashion comments? What other poker sites give you them?

The Camel looks pretty stunning too.....but he's OUT, poor fella.

Do you know if Christer Johansson is still in?

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 29, 2005, 10:24:27 PM
Christer Johasnsson - he departed during first 2 levels, in a 3 way pot. The Camel tells me it was a 3 way pot, Christer had KK, & he was up against AJ & J-T on a J-T-x flop.

At least your chip leader on the postings with 9 Tony.

50-1 anyone beats Tikay for the number of posts this year.

Great site, will tell all 3 of my mates ( allright, aquaintences, cause bookies have no mates ) to use this site.

Bet you get over 500 sign in before Cheltenham festival.

I dont know what time they started there but if they have that many left and are playing down to 9, that could be a VERY long night. Good YoYo had some practiceat the late night tourney in Luton last week.

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 12:48:33 AM
The Final will be an 8 player jobbie. 23 left now.

Thewy is living up to his Yo-Yo nickname. From 45k to 90k back to 45k & now having just busted a short stack (Thewy A-T v Low Stack K-T) he is back to 53k. All in 10 minutes. I have a hunch that Julian & Noah are gonna clash big time soon.

Marcel has cornered the market in low denomination chips, & has them in his trade mark "pile 'em high" stack some 30cm high! Think he has about 90k, hard to count though.

Padraig is on course to make history - the first player to make the money in an EPt & a WPT Event in the same week. Least, thats what he tells me.....

Ram Vaswani, one of the real class acts in the field, looks cool & unflustered, probably about 70k now & absolutely cruising.

Sadly, Vicky Lincoln has exited, but she did so with the grace & dignity of a real Lady.

Bambos is sitting quietly with about 40k.

Xuyen Bad Girl Pham has been card dead for the last 6 levels, and has an awful seat.

I am struggling to find any news on Boaz Lavie.

A big thanks to Joe Beevers & The Hendon Mob.

He has been incredibly helpful to blondepoker.com & in particular tikay, tonight, when we have been struggling to do updates for the first time.

A big thank you to Joe who is an absolute gentleman.

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 01:01:33 AM
Julian Yo-Yo Thew is making a nonsense of our updates - he is back to 90k again!

In a pot with 5-6 of spades (he's tightened up.....), he check raised when he flopped 4 to the flush & his oppo moved in with top pair, Thewy caught the flush. Quality starting hands, that's the secret of Thewy's success.

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 01:38:59 AM
It's BUBBLE TIME

19 left, 18 get paid, it's hand for hand on 3 tables. When it gets to 18, they break for the night, & return tomorrow.

Eric 123 Sagstrom busted out 20th in a 120k pot with TT against the chip leader, the Danish guy Petersen (?).

Noah 55k

Ram 130k- ducking & diving, & playing hardball.

Padraig 66k

Pham 17k & clinging on now, card dead for hours.

Bambos 50k

Marcel 120k

Thewy 90k.

18th gets paid about 35k Danish, thats about 3,500 english. (still no pound sterling sign on this damn computer....).

Thanks Guys

They commence battle at 1500 local time (1400 UK time), & play dow to a Final table of 8. It's a TV table & so it'll take a little time to "wire" everyone & get them set up, so I guess there will be a break of an hour or two before the Final starts.

We will be doing updates throughout.

OK, gotta go. Dinner with Thewy & Bad Girl in 10 minutes. They pay me to coach them, you know........

Thewy in action first hand - he had AA (he get's no luck that boy, eh?) against the all-in Katja Spillum with Q-9. Thewy's AA held up on a board of T-7-4-J-A, he wins a pot of some 70k, & unlucky Katja is out.

17 left.

Then Padraig, on the other table, found AA, against Lindholt Juntgungen (?) with KQ off. Board was Q-5-6-Q (ouch!)-9 , for a 70k pot, leaving poor Padraig down to about 30k.

Jarkko Laine is OUT.

16 left.

Xuyen Bad Girl Pham & Padraig both hanging in there.

18th, 17th & 6th all pay 34k Danish, 15 to 13th inclusive pays 40k Danish. Divide by 10 for real money.

Blinds now 2k-4k, running ante 400.

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 02:58:50 PM
Bad News for Bad Girl

Bad Girl Pham, who has been patience personified, but now down to about 15k, moves all-in with QQ, & needs the 2 callers she inevitably gets, & looks good to treble up. But an A hit the board, Marcel had an A, & that was that, Xuyen Bad Girl Pham is out in 16th place for 34k Danish. Pah for Pham!

But she won many friends & more hearts with a tremendous display, one which she can be proud of & William Hill Poker, her sponsor, must be delighted with.

15 left, next 3 spots worth 40k Danish.

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 03:12:16 PM
Padraig gone! He never recovered from having his AA bust earlier today by KQ..

14 left.

The pick of the tables looks to be Marcel, Ram & Thewy. This is coming to the boil nicely, and could be a real stonking Final.

Thewy has 130k, I will try & get a handle on Ram & Marcel's stacks shortly, but it's well crowded in the Arena.

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: AdamM on January 30, 2005, 03:47:44 PM
They on a break? what's going on Tony?

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 03:53:25 PM
The last Lady in the comp, Birgitta Johansson exits in 14th.

Then.....KAPOW - Spectacular stuff here in Copenhagen.

Marcel, down to 30k, moves all-in, & gets 2 deep-stacked callers.

Flop is K-T-T. Deep Stack # 1 makes it 7 k to go - into a 90k pot mind! - & other deep stack passes. On their backs.

So, Flop K-T-T.

Marcel shows QQ

Deep Stack shows J-T

Turn is A, for K-T-T-A. Marcel has just 2 outs now.

River is.............. Q.....!

Marcel escapes, there is a HUGE roar, the crowd go wild.

Wonderful stuff!

They are on a short break now.

Hope I am not repeating info you provided elsewhere, what is the money breakdown for final table?
jbsc776

Title: Re: Copenhagen Main Event
Post by: tikay on January 30, 2005, 06:13:27 PM
FINAL - very first hand, Erik Kolaas makes a R of 15k, Ram RR to 50k, Erik RRR all-in for 128k, Ram calls.

Ram QQ Erik AK, board all rags, Erik out very first hand.

Money? Dunno, but will get it soon as pss. But first prize is about 1 million Danish, thats 100,000 English.

There were 156 runners paying about 19,300 Danish Kroners each, & there is tax & tronc of 5% I believe. You can pretty much work out the approximate loot from there.

And then there were 5......

Ram is rampant, & has taken out original chip leader. Ram forced Mikael to give best in 2 huge pots by RRR-ing, then Ram found AA against the same guy, slow played them, the flop was all Rags, Ram checked, Mikael Westerlund moved in, Ram called, bingo!

Ram is absolutely massive, between 900,000 & 1 million, the other 4 are all between 120k & 200k

Julian has not played a hand - stole the BB once, but he's still there, as is Bambos.

Dinner Break now.

They are playing again, & we are down to FOUR now.

Ram, Bambos, Noah & YoYo Thew.

Thewy is probably low stack with about 100, Noah & Bambos a little more but Thewy is "playing" now.

4th spot pays 17 large (English)

Pah! Thewy out 4th. Julian had A-3 against A-5, and on a KK4 flop it looked odds on a split pot, but a nightmare (for Thewy) deuce rivered, so the 5 played.

Bambos, Noah & Ram battle on.

Bambos just moved for 220k with Q-9 against Ram's K-8, & caught the Q. Can Bambos make a game of it....?

Thewy takes home 170,000 Danish Kroners - thats 17k sterling. Tremendouis effort by the William Hill man.

Tikay is having problems at his end so has asked me to keep you up to date.
Bambos with 10,10 all-in against Ram with K,J. Ram hit his king so it's heads up. Ram has around 1 million chips, noah about half that.
