Title: Posting on PHA
Post by: thetank on February 21, 2007, 02:34:50 PM
This board is intended as a learning resource for players of all different levels of experience and ability. To date, you guys have made it a fantastic place with some great civil debates, and patient explanations for beginners.

We want to keep it that way, so in the interests of all blonde members, users are strongly encouraged to refrain from elitist sarcasm and derogatory posting when using the Poker Hand Analysis board.

Any post that discourages others to use this tool is frowned upon, and offenders may be subject to moderation if we feel they have overstepped the line.

Any questions or queries regarding any of this, please feel free to raise them in the follwing thread.....

We seem to be breaking away from the spirit laid out in these guidelines of late.

Just a quick note here, to clarify what is meant by a post that "discourages others from using the board"

-Negative reinforcement

When presented by itself is not allowed. Eg, telling someone their play was no good, without saying why this is.

-Belittling or elitist sarcasm.

We all like a bit of banter, but this refers to a sarcastic remark that is made on PHA with no effort spent to set the original poster straight as to what you mean, something posted purely so that other folk who are "in the know" can snigger at what they deem is poker ignorance.

Anything that the mods feel is a joke of this sort, will be deemed to have broken the guidelines.

This is a learning environment. We ask you to all to please respect the sanctity of this, and remember that anybody should be welcome to approach the blonde blackboard without being mocked.

You may wish to be Simon Cowell on Flop Idol or Alan Sugar on the Apprentice, but if you do, this is the wrong forum for it!

Members who continue to break the guidelines will find their posts start to get removed. We like to avoid this wherever possible, but we've come to the point where enough is enough.
