Here is a picture of our intrepid hero as he dodges the bullets, fires some rockets of his own and generally whiles away the hours...

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:03:12 PM
My guess is that Womble is listening to his favourite song at the moment cos he's bopping up and down in his seat, head dancing rythmically to the beat.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:04:22 PM
He's got no idea, but has spotted me peering over the balcony continuously at him.

Tables 1-13 are now on a dinner break. But Womble is on table 16, so he keeps playing.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:21:38 PM
Breaking news - Womble has taken his headphones off and packed them away. Must be getting serious down there...

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: simonow on March 09, 2007, 06:25:21 PM
womble accidently rang me yesterday and had to part with 5% so I know he is going to cash now. LOL

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:28:57 PM
Womble's button. There's a mid position raiser. Brigitte in the cut off reraises.  Womble passes very quickly.

Title: Re: Womblecam

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:39:27 PM
No massage as of yet.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:43:46 PM
Womble is in seat 8 btw. The table bully is seat 4, who has just made another mid position raise on Womble's small blind.  Can you guess what Womble did?

Answer: pass

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:46:52 PM
Womble min raises from the button. Two callers.

Flop 9-7-J-Q-3 board. The other two players get involved. Womble passes.

12 mins to go until a Womblebreak. I might tell him about this thread during it...

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:55:26 PM
Some kind of kefuffle at the table now. Dealer has miscalled someone's raise I think. Womble is orchestrating the correction. Dealer looks confused but it's all sorted out now.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: tikay on March 09, 2007, 06:57:35 PM
This is riveting. I am playing an Online Comp, & have bet myself that I'll play a hand before Womble does.

They are quoting 4/5 each of two.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 06:59:42 PM
5/6 surely

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 07:01:03 PM
The blinds have just gone through Womble again.

Pass/Pass

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 07:05:16 PM
Womble has taken down a pot just before the break, Unfortunately I blinked and missed the action, so I presume there was no flop. He's stacking his chips now.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 07:06:11 PM
Womblecam is now paused. I will get an accurate chip count from him before play restarts in 1 hour.

Post by: ariston on March 09, 2007, 08:03:38 PM
cheers for that matey. Maybe you will get a bit more action to report on now that the blinds are going up. I expect him to get back above his starting stack at some stage in the next 5 hours

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 08:27:10 PM
I just asked Womble if he had a quote for his adoring fans. His predictable response was

"Tell them to F off!"

Title: Re: Womblecam

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: ariston on March 09, 2007, 08:34:33 PM
nooooooo 8750??? he must have got kk cracked there

I think this feature should be run at future EPTs with a different player each time. Great idea to be able to follow one person work their way through a tourney. Good job you have picked a live one for the trial run ;)

Womble update - he's on 13,000.

18,000 was a miss hand signal. He was never up that much, but 13k is still worthy of an ayaaarrr.

The hand he got his chips on was with AK of hearts when three hearts flopped.

Title: Re: Womblecam

tell him back to work  till he has 18k, till then no ciggie breaks

nobody seems surprised by the fact when wombles money went in he had the stone cold. You think his table has realised this yet?

his reputation is so strong that at walsall he raised in level one and the blinds on the 3 tables next door passed

Title: Re: Womblecam

Womble is now playing with a stress ball. He looks very calm, so its obviously working.

Title: Re: Womblecam
Post by: AlrightJack on March 09, 2007, 10:33:38 PM
Womble was in the small blind. Someone accidentally pulled my power socket out of the wall and by the time I had glanced back they were onto the next hand. So I presume he passed...

I'm afraid I won't be playing at BB4 Tikay. Even though I'm a freelancer, being the GUKPT manager and being on Grosvenor's national rules commitee kind of rules me out of playing in any Grosvenor, even in a private game. May come along for a drink though.

Good News: So are the other seats at the table. It has been broken and Womble has been moved on.  It's a critical time of the night though. With the blinds going up in 10 mins to 600/1200 it's gamble time for the shrt stacks. With not much more than 10,000, Womble is one of those short stacks and needs to double up to be in any kind of shape for tomorrow.

They are into level 10 now. 600/1200 with a 100 running ante. About 70 players left and our loose aggressive hero is still one of them. Not much more than 10k though...

Day 2 here we come. Womble is on 16,500, so you were only 50% out Tank. Or 100%, depending on which way you look at it.  Womble played a a couple of hand in the final circuit of the table. He raised to 3,500 from the cut-off and was flat called by the big blind. The flop, turn and river were checked down by both players and Womble showed jack high to take down the pot. He then bet 3,500 again on his button and was raised by the same player as in the previous hand. Womble passed, showing pocket sixes and his opponent showed pocket nines.

We're back. By popular demand and due to Womble's continued existence in the tournament, Womblecam marches on to bring you more amazing passes, astonishing acts of LAGishness and general good cheer for the one known to all as Womble. Apparently his real name is Steve something or other.

Crack open the beers, salt/sugar the popcorn according to taste and sit back and enjoy Womblecam Day 2, which starts soon.

Play has resumed. Womble is on table 4, seat 1. In seat 2 is none other than Mickey Wernick. Also on the table is Jeff Kimber in seat 6.

So far Womble hasn't played a hand. Mickey has lost one though and is now down to 42,000.

Bittersweet news. No ayyaaarrrs here please or the thread may come to a very abrupt end.

Womble moved all in with pocket threes. Mickey, in the seat next to him looks down and finds kings. Calls.

Three on the flop. Womble doubles up to 27,000.

Mickey is down to about the same.

Just wish the hand was against someone else.

They are just about to resume after a 15-minute break. There are 93 players left. The blinds are now 1,000/2,000 with a 200 running ante. The average stack is 53,000. Our hero has just over half of this on 27,700. Mickley Wernick has now also recovered a bit and is on 40,000.

Go Womble
Go Mickey

good news there mate.

womble isn't happy unless he has around half the average stack before the final, he likes to save his big hands for there. Anything above average and hes in nosebleed territory ;)

Womble is down to 19,000 now. He says he's in a 9-2 phase of the game.

Can't get anywhere near them now as press are now not allowed in between the tables. But from my vantage point in the gallery I have just seen Womble move all in from under the gun. They all passed.

Things seemed to have slowed down a lot. Not lost a player for a good ten minutes. 78 left. But the blinds go up to 1,500/3,000 with a 300 running ante in 5 minutes time, so more carnage should be on the cards soon.

1. When is the soapy bubble?

2. Do you expect womble to slow down just before the money?

There are 75 left, 48 get paid, so we are still a way off the bubble.

I would actually expect Womble to do the opposite and get busy at that point.

Mickey is low now - on about 16,000. He has just susrvived an all in, but the pot was chopped. Couldn't quite see the cards but I think it was A-Q v A-Q.

Not much news to report about Womble - a fair few hands have been passed though.

Bad News Womblefans...

Ourt hero is out.

Small Blind v Big Blind. Brad Cowling in the small blind raises to 8,000. Womble calls.

The flop was 8-9-J

check - check

Turn 7

Brad bets, Womble moves all in and Brad calls, showing Q-T, having flopped a straight. Womble, with K-T had turned one, but not as high. He still had a queen running for him but if did not materialise.

C'est la vie. The womble lives on, but is no more in Dortmund.
