Right, next on the "catch-up list is this, the blonde-Titan Freeroll.

There has been much comments on blonde about the merits or otherwise of Titan. Most of you will have noted by now that I rarely say this site or that site is good or bad - it's a subjective thing.

I made a lengthy (I know, most of you fell asleep reading it) post earlier about Tony G's new role on blonde, & the blonde Titan Freeroll was the first deal he cut for us.

In short, the deal is that Titan run a Freeroll exclusively for the blondeites.  You can see the details on our Home Page, it's a huge banner on the right hand side.

Essentially, it's a $5,000 dollar Freeroll, with another $1,000 on top by way of bounties on El Blondie & Tony G. Prizes go down to 18th. I THINK it's a rebuy (pardon my ignorance, but my PC is down at the moment, & I cant download Poker Sitres onto my Lappie), and that the Rebuys are ADDED to the Prize Pool, but I will confirm that, one way or the other, later. You do have to Deposit $20 into Titan to make you eligible, but you can cash that out once the comp is over if you so wish. And, if you wanna take them up on it, there are Deposit Bonuses, subject, I imagine, to the usual conditions. We HAVE to get 50 runners, or the comp is off, simple as that, but that should be achievable based on past experience. And if we get 100+ runners, then the Freeroll will become a $10,000 Freeroll, yum yum yum.

In addition, Titan will pay blonde an amount (I don't know the details, but it ain't relevant really), effectively they will be giving us a Bonus for delivering them x sign-ups.

Lots of dubious questions have been aired on blonde about Titan, & I've never used the site, so I can't really deny or confrm them. The site is crap/good. poor/ok, that sorta thing.

Quite honestly, my view is "so what?". If they are gonna give $5,000, plus $1,000 of Bounties, completely free, then that's fine by me. Plus they'll give blonde a bonus if we achieve the targeted number of runners.

Nobody is obliged to carry on using Titan after the blonde tourney, & we wont advise you either way. If you like the site, you will, if you don't, you wont. It's that simple, blonde have no view or interest as to whether you do or don't. Our aim is to deliver them enough runners so that you all get a Freeroll, & blonde get their Bonus.

I understand that they apply "pressure selling" to get you to deposit more money. Fine, do as they suggest, or ignore them, that's your choice entirely, we are all grown-ups, we can handle a bit of that.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. They are giving us a juicy Freeroll, & if we have to put up with a bit of pressure selling so as to get their money, so be it. You won't go there again if you don't like the place. Remember, I am neither saying they are good or bad - that's NOT the point at all. If it is a decent site, many of you will stay there, & use the site in future, which is the bet they are, in effect, making. If you don't like it, you will not go there again. But you'll have at least $6k of their money in your pocket. Sounds OK to me.

But you MUST remember this. You CANNOT sign up on the day. You need to sign up, ideally, 48 hours in advance. Don't say we did not warn you, you will NOT be able to sign up on the day of the comp.

$6,000 for nothing? Can't be that bad a deal, even if we have to put up with a bit of grief.

Tony G tells me that he can set up these kind of comps for blonde on a regular basis, maybe not THIS much free money, but certainly added money. But we DO need to try to make this one a success, as that will give him the encouragement to set the other "added money" blonde Tourneys up for us.

Once I installed the software and registered my account, support asked me if all was ok and then gave me $10 bonus right away to play with (not bad for us low stakes players!).

try using your switch card - you have to register the card - if it has VISA on the front of your card you should be ok.

Everyone should have a Neteller account IMO, saves all this agro.  You can just move money around all the poker sites to your hearts content.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem registering fro the freeroll, I signed up and deposited two days ago (Thursday evening), but still says I can't register for the tourney... Will keep trying.

OK, a quick update. I have to leave very soon for a wedding in London, & I'm late aleady, but this will answer a few queries.

Tony G has just rung mre, he is in a forest in Lithuania with his family, &, incredibly, there is no Wi-Fi access available...... Anyway, he has answered several of the questions you raised as follows.

It is a rebuy event, with ALL the rebuy money added to the $5,000 Prize Fund. So, if there are $3,000 of rebuys, it becomes $8,000. Plus the $1,000 of Bounty money.

If we get over 100 runners, it becomes a $10,000 Freeroll. plus the Bounty's. Plus the rebuy moneys.

Wednesday is the ABSOLUTE LATEST day by which you must sign up. Any later is too late.

You do NOT need to register for the Tourney. By signing up to Titan via the link on our Home Page, you are AUTOMATICALLY entered for the blonde-Titan Tourney. But there is a 24/48 hour timelag between you signing up, & your name being added to the list of runners.

Ali - maybe you should try signing again by the blonde route, & see what happens? I forgot to ask Tony your question.

I'll not unregister though to keep the numbers up, hopefully you'll get over 100 to get the max payout for this.

It took 3 or 4 days for my name to appear on the list so dont panic  if your names not down straight away, Titan will do it automatically for you at some point.

I'm signed up... waiting for them to add me to the list over the next couple of days... is it a 10pm start on fri?

I got the support on too.. $10 bonus plus the bonus matching my deposit if i play $10000000 dollars worth of hand etc...

If you cant play on fri.... would it do any harm to sign up anyway... $10 bonus...take your 20 out next sat? Or is that a bit fraudulant?!!

Sure it'll come on ove rthe next couple of days... call me synical but i dont think its in their interests to put all the names on...wanting people to be uncertain if there is 50 or not is in their interests....

Just a quick note on my early experience of titan... yeah really 'friendly' to get your money... if you ever want to take money out looks like it wouldn't be as simple as with other sites, and may take a while... oh and i had 3 horrible outdraws in my first ten hands which, had it been for more than $3, would have received the table being thrown across the room, and I take bad beats pretty well as a rule!!

There is no such thing as a 'free lunch' but i still think, cons and all this is probably quite close...

I just went on and tried to get in the freeroll. Couldn't do it. Restricted.

I sought after some help. Got a response after about 10 minutes from Michelle, the only girl who seems to be working there.

She doesn't know what day it is and takes about an hour to repsond to each comment I make. At the end, she said 'Just one moment please' and never returned. Gr8 customer service.

Anyhow, I can't see the banner anymore on Blonde and I can't register for the comp.

Any1 else encountered these problems and have they been solved?

I also opened an account - but NOT thru blonde banner -the only way we are going to get in is if TonyG gets involved I think.

TK suggested registering thru the blonde banner - but that wont work unless we open completely different accounts (new user name, email, addy etc)  Coz they will think we are trying to set up multiple accounts.

Amazingly, I didn't get Michelle this time round.

I think my flirting techniques worked better this time as Emma was very helpful. She said she'd put my name forward and I would be able to register in 48 hours. She also answered my questions straight away and didn't type in the dreaded 'Just one moment please'.

And we are also meeting up for dinner on Saturday.  ::)

It says, this tournament is restricted, etc etc etc, so i called on line help and support, and hafter i explained everything, he said, and i quote....you need to have invitational access, or be in the group organising it. <close quote> so i laughed, and said to re-read what i just typed, then he said, neverwin <txt summit or another> and said he organised it, but thats just a lame excuse for them.  I really wanna be part of this on friday, might be a good laugh, what should i do?

Just signed up to Titan via the link on the home page, the host (Jonny) was very nice, really helpful after my card kept being refused(it didn't like Visa debit for some strange reason), I finally did get a different card added to the account and deposited. I asked how long it would be for my name to be added to the freeroll list and he was under the impression that Blonde would add me, not Titan?!

Anyway, it wouldn't let me register to the freeroll directly but as Mr Nice Host said, it could take a day or two to be updated. Fingers crossed eh? :)up

Tikay - that isnt strictly true, at least not in my case.

I opened an account last week and deposited some money and got an e-mail from them about the free $10 and another one about the blonde tourney.  However my name wasnt in the tourney.

However, if you look up the Tournaments scheduled section and look for the blonde tourney under 14th October - you will see the list.  If you then press register, it should automatically register you for $0 buy-in ( it think there are up to 3 $25 rebuys but no add-ons although someone else may be able to confirm that and the rules surrounding it).

Anyway - i am registered now and there are 20 so we need to get these numbers up

Triple X, I found the same as you, I was not automatically registered, I had to manually register but obviously was not charged anything. It wouldn't let me register for the first 2 1/2 days though, so it must take that time to clear throiugh their system. After that it let me sign up. Don't know if this is the exception or the rule.

I signed up via blonde on friday and received an email from titan today saying that I can now register for the freeroll (which I will do as soon as I get home from work).  Seems it takes a while to add you to the list, which is perhaps why you need to sign up by Wednesday.

Anyone know how many we have registered now?

2. ONCE YOU HAVE DONE THIS THEY WILL SEND YOU AN EMAIL TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE BLONDE POKER FREEROLL

3. ONCE YOU RECIEVE TIS EMAIL YOU GO TO THE BLONDE FREEROLL IN THE LOBBY AND IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO REGISTER!!

Yes you can deposit by switch card, but its a bit of an arse cashing out as they cant return it to your switch card ??? So to withdraw you need a neteller account or they mail you a cheque in $$$ which takes 21 days :(.

What a flaming nightmare!!!  It won't take Visa Debit as Jane so rightly said, and I won't use my credit cards to fund poker.  So it was suggested I set up a Neteller Account, done that no probs, but now have to wait for my Bank to transfer the money to Neteller before I can deposit into Titan.  All of this could take 4 working days.

So, if it doesn't all go through in time - good luck to you all - I'll be the one on the rail swearing.

BTW, name on Titan TracyT - someone has the nerve to be using Trace and TraceT!!  How bloody dare they!!!!

i believe you can transfer funds to your neteller using your visa delta which would mean that your funding is instant

yeah, I had to go through all that. It's not like Visa Delta is an obscure card. if they accept Visa, then Delta should be fine. had to get a Neteller account set up, which required me receiving security call from the US, although it was late so I had to sit next to the phone to prevent the family being woken. Then I found My 100% bonus wasn't going to materialise as it was cash games only and Im a STT player (though I believe thats changed).

Also brace yourselves for daily junk mail from them with no 'unsubscribe' option at the bottom.

There online support said that they no longer accept debit cards.

With regards to Neteller, when I first transferred funds from my debit card, I think I recall it happening instantly.

I had similar problems Trace, what i did was register for www.click2pay.com and they set it up right away with a quick phone call to you.

This option transfers money directly from your bank account (UK only) straight into Titan, and Vice versa.

Its very quick and easy, and you can also use it to shop online, Mainly for women i suppose  ;)

Most Comps will seat you and you will get blinded away until you rescue your stack. I have never tried it with Titan but doubt whther they will be different.

I talked to the management  of Titanpoker and got the starting stack
increased from 1500 to 2500 plus the levels to every 20 minutes.

I tried downloading an registering, but according to the support guy who gave me the sales pitch when I first signed in, there is no affiliate record.

I clicked and downloaded from the blonde site however. I tried to get him to set the affiliate and told him I wasnt going to deposit unless I could enter the blonde tournament but he jsut gave some crap about other good tourneys on their site.

PM TonyG, it is important that you are recorded as coming through blonde, not only to get you into the comp but for the blonde coffers.

Mikky, you have to deposit $20 to get in to the freeroll.  It also takes 24-48 hours after depositing to get on the list to be able to register.

Yeah but I'm not depositing if I'm not flagged as being with blonde... I know how the affiliate systems work (I am an affilate with various sites myself) and its quite profitable for blonde to have good players flagged as their afilate  ;) rather have the money going to blone than to their own bank accounts

Hi Everyone, I have done all of the above so hopefully I will be registered and see ya all at the tables. I too have experienced the complications you had Trace with depositing on some sites till I got a neteller account which has made life a whole lot easier. Someone has also bagged my name of suzanne/suzanne666 so I have had to settle for suzanne66 which doesnt quite have the same devilish ring to it but nevermind.

Main lobby, click on "Options" button.  Then click on "Audio Settings" tab.  All your sound options are in there.  There are 4 options, click OFF "Music".  Try re-booting if it doesn't work.

Just picking up on mikkyT's point. I have ZERO knowledge of the affiliate business, & am inclined to keep it that way, so I'm not sure if the point I am going to make is just a me being a bit pedantic, or if in fact it's relevant to his 2 posts but......

blondepoker do NOT have an Affiliate deal with Titan. Any business you conduct with Titan after the blonde-Titan Tourney will NOT result in affiliate income, or rakeback, finding it's way to blonde.

Our deal with Titan is ONLY for the Freeroll, for which, as I indicated in my opening post (albeit vaguely) we will receive what amounts to a "sign-up fee" for each player. That is the extent of our relationship at present.

Well, after a hiccup with the initial download I have set up my account at Titan.

There are currently 38 people registered in the freeroll, so the minimum of 50 looks to be achieved already as there must be a fair few of us in limbo at the moment.

I watched a tournament for a few minutes which was quite bizarre. I thought it was limit, given that almost the whole table was limping in pre-flop and then betting/calling the same amount on the flop  with only the occasional minimum raise. Then suddenly someone went all in  :o

Incidentally, if you see someone called 12barblues it isn't me. Unless he/she is a top player, in which case I'll claim it's me anyway  ;)

Never in my life have I experienced anything as difficult as putting £20 on my Titan Account.

Neteller have for some reason closed my account down, so they better refund the bloody £20 I sent to it from my Bank Account.

I have now had to resort to putting £20 on Titan with a Credit Card <<< not very happy about that at all!

Does anyone know what port(s) the Titan Poker software requires? The Internet provider at my University residence has taken the liberty of blocking almost every port except those required by the most common pieces of software... and as I cannot connect, I can only assume it uses one which is not default. (i.e. this has not been a problem for VC/William Hill, but Ladbrokes also I have not been able to connect to for what I assume is the same reason).

Sorry to all you guys who got three of the mails tikay sent out about the titain freeroll. At first we all just thought it was down to tikays fantastic computer skills.
But our software developers suggested it was actualy to do with our mail server link being wrong. They said they changed it and the problem should not occur again.

OK, so I've registered (as CremeEgg). I had a look at the structure for the event - 2,500 chips, 20 minute levels, very nice. However, it says that rebuys last until Level 8. At 20 minute levels, this is 2h40m into the event. This can't be right, can it?

SJR - no, you do not need any code number. If you've signed up with Titan, & depsited your $20, they will send you an e-mail telling you your account is set up. THEN you can register for the Freeroll yourself on the Titan site. Oh, & welcome to blonde!

They willl send you an e-mail, confirming your account is set up. Then you can register yourself for the Freroll, & you will not need a password.

Tikay, there does seem to be a maximum of 3 rebuys, so you will have to exercise a modicum of restaint...

The 8 Buy in Levels (2 hrs 40 minutes), which AndrewT referred to.

Have spoken to TonyG, he confirms it was intended to be 2 hours of rebuys, based on 8 x 15 minutes. But he asked for a better clock, they increased it to 20 mins, & the rest is history. He's gonna ask them to cut the rebuy period back to 2 hours, but we don't know yet if that will be possible.

I'd rather it was not 2 hrs 40 mins, but we'll hav to se - the flip side of that is it wil increase the Prize Pool. ALL Rebuys are added to the Prize pool.

And, for what it's worth, we are now paying 30 (THIRTY) places, & not 20 as originally advertised. As a Freeroll, we feel the money ought to go down as far as possible. OK, not everyone's cup pf tea, but let's spread the happiness, eh?

Andrwew T - 3 rebuys maximum? - thank for letting me know. As I noted earlier, I have not been able to sign up yet, as my PC has been down for a week, so that's useful info.

I've signed up to Titan under the name ''scandidog'' ( I can't believe there is already a popdog AND elsadog registered on Titan), had a hell of a job depositing with switch card - it wants a start date and switch don't have one. Finally managed on my neteller account. Tried to register for the freeroll - restricted. I assume from the posts I will get an email. Can anyone confirm this for me as time is getting a wee bit short now.

Foggy. 41 have registered for the tourney, but there were 65 in total, at the last count, including those awaiting their confirmation e-mail, or those who have had it, & not registered yet. Titan's support is offline until later tonight I believe, so another batch will be cleared after they return, I guess.

What can we do to boost numbers? Nothing more than we have, & I'm delighted with the numbers at this stage. We have passed our target number, so any more would be a nice surprise. Can we get the hundred? I doubt it, but you never know. We have promoted it enough - too much some would say, & so it will be what it will be.

There will be plenty of other blonde tourneys after this one, so we just have to build gradually. The next one is already lined up, but let's get this one done & dusted first!

Yes, but putting the money in takes days. 'Payment Pending' my arse. Earlier I stuck some money in my Betfair account using Switch - it took 2 seconds. Plus when I withdraw money it doesn't charge me a pound 'Tranaction Fee'.

titan are on a day off so no manaully adding has happened according to tonyg

remember its not how many in the event that matters even if there was only 2 runners (davec and tonyg) it would now be a 5K freeroll because its the number of depositing players that have opened accounts via the download link that counts

I signed up to titan 24hrs ago and made a deposit. Have heard nothing....tried to enrol but as with others it says restricted. So I emailed support. After 4 or 5 exchanges of emails they said that the freeroll was restricted.....lol.

So I sent a very clear email explaining the situation.......and they sent my email back to me, with no answer, explanation etc. I sent it back to them......they sent it back to me..........Anyone for tennis?

Yes popdog. Titan's replies do tend to be templated auto-replies, & you can tell they are responding on Auto-Pilot rather than actually reading the question you have posed. But The Manual Help Desk opens again overnight, & I am sure they will sweep up all the queries & questions quickly. And to be fair to them, their line has been consistent throughout.

Its maybe just my low standards but Titans support staff have been excellent with me.. I got an email last night giving me the support guys personal phone number and email address and a promise that I would get sorted.. they answered my 3 emails within 5 minutes and I think the replies were personalised and not stock answers.  so far I give them 10/10      anyway All i need to do now is learn how to play poker and i'm laughing  ;)

I am sorry that you feel that "the site is horrible". We have never said it was good, or bad. Just that they are giving us a juicy Freeroll. It is entirely up to the players to decide whether they stay with Titan after the Freeroll. Again, we have not advised either way. We do NOT have an Affiliate Deal with Titan. We ARE getting a sign-up fee for every player who registers with Titan via blonde. And the blondeites are getting $6,000 of free money, $11,000 if over 100 people play. (Plus the rebuys, but that's players money, not donated by Titan).

Give it a few hours, then try registering for the tourney via the site. If you have registered with Titan via the banner on the blonde Home Page, & deposited your $20, you should be OK, but they are processing a lot of new accounts, so be patient.

Well don't leave it too long streak - I think the shuitters come down at 5 or 6pm.

It MAY be possibl;e to Register after 5pm or 6pm, but we've seen it's not an easy process, so I'd advise sooner rather than later. In previous blonde tourneys, no matter how much we promote them in the previous weeks, 30% of the field sign up in the last hour. This will NOT be possible tonight.

I don't really think we can help on that one. They do take a selection of Credit Cards - I deposited by MasterCard.

i dont like credit cards so i just use debit cards i might see if i can use my wifes credit card when she comes home, not sure if i will be able to use it as the poker acc is in my name. but when i play on stars i can use it so i will give it a go later

I’m interested to know whether most people playing in this freeroll will rebuy. I would play it as a freezeout as I have a very small bankroll and am new to the game. I wonder if some of the more experienced players will have a shot at it for free.

I think we had better nail this thing about at what point does it become a $10,000 Freeroll, rather than a $5,000 Freeroll.

Tony G is currently in an aeroplane, somewhere between Lithuania & London, so he can't reply right now.

Someone suggests it is 100 sign-ups via blonde, rather than 100 players. Maybe, maybe not - I just don't know about that, & I can't get into a debate about it without the facts to hand.

For now, you shouild ASSUME it needs 100 PLAYERS in the blonde-Titan  Freeroill to trigger the increase ftom $5,000 to $10,000. (In each case, plus 2 x $500 Bounties). That is the prudent way to view it. We will know the answer BEFORE the Tourney starts, so that's the way I suggest you view it for now. Titan are donating the Prize Money, so it's not as if I can make a decision or ruling on the matter.

It's very important to me personally that Members do not have false expectations, so I'd rather we took the prudent view until Tony G can clarify it.

Play it is a Freezeoit or a rebuy?That's a matter of personal taste, & affordability. But the guys who treat it as a Freezeout can take comfort that they are genuienly freerolling, for Titan's money, PLUS the Rebuy money, plus the bounty money.

You pays your money - or in this case you don't - & takes your choice.

Whatever the total prize fund is, its still bloody great for the number of runners in it. There is a real chance us newbie poker players can creap into the money! No one can dare complain about the event.

My oft-repeated advice to be patient remains the case, if you have registered with Titan via the correct route, you should be OK, but it may take an hour or two before you can actually enter the tourney. I registered with Titan on Wednesday, managed to enter the tourney today (simply by clicking on the comp) & got my e-mail saying I was eligible 2 hours later!

As long as you signed up via the Titan banner on the blonde Home Page, you should be ok. The Titan banner has only been there since we agreed the deal with Titan.

Notice from TonyG's post in the other thread that we needed to get 100 runners by the end of yesterday to increase the prize pool to $10k... Have we been slightly done here? I for one would have signed up yesterday - if they'd been at work and allowed me to do so. Seems to me that Blonde has provided Titan with the 100 new players that it wanted, but that it's mysterious working patterns may have conveniently worked in its favour, according to the rules. Under the spirit of the deal, don't you think they should still stump up the $10k..?

Stupid question, but what time are we starting tonight?

OK. We always said that if 100 players registered, then the $5,000 Freeroll would increase to $10,000. We had 107 at the last count, so that means it IS a $10,000 Freeroll.

I NOW realise that Tony G posted earlier in the week that the increase to $10,000 would apply IF we reached 100 runners by 23.59 Wednesday. We did not, though we might have if the Registration process had not been so horrendous.....but that's another story. Since then, I have suggested on several occasions, that if we reached 100, it would be $10,000.

So, let's forget about who said what, & when. It's a $10,000 Freeroll, Titan will pay $5,000, blonde will pay $5,000.

Paying the money is slightly more complicated. Titan will pay the $5,000 they promised, we will MATCH that. So, this is what we'd like you to do. After the comp, if you finish in the money, PM me, & blonde will pay you a cheque exactly equal to the amount that Titan have advertised as the Prize Structure (EXCLUDING rebuys).

So you ARE playing in a $10,000 FREEROLL.

I just spoke to Tony G, he is at his hotel, but his computer is playing up. So, at 8pm, Tony G & me can't access our PC's, & Dave is still trying to get in the comp under his own name. Great!

Can someone post here the Prize Structure, from the Titan lobby, so that we all know what we are playing for, excluding rebuys please. I believe it's $1,250 to the winner, down to $12.50 for 30th. Doubled. Plus rebuys. plus Bounties, 2 at $500 each.

As far as I am concerned, this Freeroll is for folks who registered via the Titan banner on the blonde Home Page ONLY. If someone got in via any other route, they should not be paid, & the Prize Money will go down a place to compensate. But that's just the way I see it, I can't cofirrm what would happen in truth. Let's assume - for now - that all entrants are legit.
