Title: Calling Station Post by: NoflopsHomer on July 26, 2007, 07:44:30 PM I got a lot of stick for making this call on the river. But my reasoning was that A-T and K-T bet less because they want to get paid. (A-T and sets raise on the turn too I think). This made me think he'd either had missed completely with 6-4 or two clubs, or was putting in a very clever, good value bet to represent a missed draw, being on Crypto and a $20 tournament swung me to the former.
Thoughts, comments anyone? This is not mean as a chirp, I'd like to see how others would've played this hand. Seat 1: Icecool! The river...well yes I think you read it well, especially taking into account the tournament was 20$ like you said. I love the large value bet with big hands representing a missed draw, but I imagine more often than not at this level the bet is exactly what it looks like, a missed draw! I suppose you could bet smallish on the river as a kind of stopper bet, but I would rather play it how you did, if he has the K of clubs he is happy to check the river. Good call wp :P. You got stick cos crypto is full of very angry people :).

Terrible play from the AA though he gets called by KK and maybe QQ usually a waste.
