Title: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 02:25:02 PM Welcome back. Play begins once again at 4pm. We're looking at another 80 to 90 runners once more. People playing today include Ian Woodley and Julian Thew. More names to follow as we spot 'em.

There are some interesting tables scattered about. There are two tables seperated from the main throng of 8 tables which look like they could be interesting. Table 9 is home to Raj Modah, the ladbrokes million winner, Julian Thew, of course, who will no doubt be applying his yoyo tactics to good effect and John Falconer, who is wearing an interesting T Shirt, with a logo which is most certainly non-blonde compliant. I'll give you a clue for fun though "What part of *SOMETHING* off don't you understand?" Call me the cryptic cat.... Anyway this table should provide some entertainment. Indeed as I watch Julian is involved in a pot already. Having raised a preflop limper, the limpers bet out of 400 on a flop is raised to 1150 or so by Julian. The limper calls. The turn is quite the action card, or as it turns out the action-killing card... the . Both players check quickly. The river 9, the limper bets out 800 which Julian quickly passes to. He flashed his cards but sadly I wasn't well positioned to see. I'll ask him about it later. The limper showed J9 for the full house..... SHOCK HORROR. We have an elimination already! Possibly a record for a gukpt, the legend that is Albert Sapiano, 4th in the Brighton GUKPT, IS OUT in less than 30 minutes! Details of the hand are that in a raised pot, himself and Sid Harris saw a 678 flop with 2 clubs. Albert's bet of 1k was raised to 3k by Sid. The turn was bet to the tune of 2 or 3k by Sid and again Albert called. The river As was shoved by Sid and Albert obviously viewed the A as a safe card for his QQ, making the call, and finding, somewhat unsurprisingly that Sid's 78 full house was ever so far ahead. RIP Albert's chips, gone but not forgotten.... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 07, 2007, 04:41:33 PM Irish Denis has joined the tables as an alternate, along with Ouday Hikary and Hoss Parhizkar and will no doubt be spicing up affairs.
I've just received the full player list, with table positionings, so I'll stick that up shortly for all you guys and gals out there... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 04:52:49 PM Alan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=19) McLean (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=19) takes a small pot from James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=183) Akenhead (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=183) with Aspades Th on a 3d Ad 9s 2d Qh board.
Priyan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=354) De Mel (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=354), on the same table scoops a 3k pot with errr 3-2. Off-suit. Against Mclean and Akenhead when the board comes out 8-3-2-4-7. His reasoning being, "threes and deuces always come out when I have 3-2, so I have to call." I suspect it was a little tongue in cheek. Mickey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) Wernick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=283) wins around 3k too when his opponent hangs himself a little on the 8-6-T-Q-7 board. Ks 9c for Wernick giving him a rivered straight. Finally, Martino (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=652) Libertini (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=652) calls 2.2k on the river of a 4h 7h 5d 7c Js board, his opponent taps the table when he shows Kh Ks. Irish Denis has slipped in as an alternative. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=911&g2_serialNumber=1) Alan Vinson and Mark (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=265) Lowe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=265) (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=913&g2_serialNumber=1) Colchester Kev, either flexing his muscles or doing a rendition of "I'm a little teapot" (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=915&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 07, 2007, 05:19:52 PM (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=919&g2_serialNumber=2)
Here's the table layout, hope it is clear. If not Ill redo and repost. Anyways, Sid (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) Harris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) has claimed yet another victim, catapulting him clear into the lead at this early point. He became involved in a raised pot preflop with Paul Kemp. On a A 9 8 flop, Harris bet 600 which Kemp raised to 1200 and was reraised by Harris to 3700, Kemp now pushed. Didn't take Sid long to call with 99 before Kemp showed down AK. Er.... An Ace on the turn, gave Kemp some hope, but an effectively blank T on the river consigned him to the casualty list and gave Harris a nice chunky amount of chips to play with.... Mmmmm chunky chips..... Thewy folded on the river when a second Jack turned up.
Ryan Fronda holding an imaginary remote control, Rob Garfield "sleep-riffling" and Roberto Romanello is...errm not really doing anything that I can make fun of. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=920&g2_serialNumber=1) Ian Cox and Billy Quang Ngo (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=922&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 07, 2007, 05:44:21 PM Thanks Sharplea.
Yes Ian Herbert has bitten the dust. After limping UTG, Danni Allen raised to 700 from the BB which Ian called. On the KJ6 flop Danni led for 800 which Ian responded to by pushing allin. His KQ however was no match for Danni's flopped set with JJ, which duly held sending Ian to the rail... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 05:44:53 PM Paul King bets 1.5k on a Ks 7d Ad 4h board, Marc Coupe check calls, but puts his breaks on once more on the 5d river and checks to King, who asks how much he has left, "around 7k" is the answer.
Paul bets a suspicous 4.5k and gets the pass that I think his bluff wanted. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 05:46:31 PM Breaking news!!!!
John Wong has Notorious BIG playing on his iPod. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 06:09:53 PM Breaking news!!!! John Wong has Notorious BIG playing on his iPod. Whereas Warren Wooldridge is a fan of "The Feeling" Meanwhile Chris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) Bruce (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) is having to deal with some serious overbetting from some of the locals. He's had Queens three times, passed one to a 3-bet from a particularly crazy woman who showed Aces. The other times he got bluffed off an ace high board by J-9 and finally winning the other. He just bet 500 from the big blind on the turn of a T-6-5-5 board with A-5, crazy woman calls, river is a 9. Chris bets 500, she makes it 1,500. He calls, and she shows 8-7 for the rivered straight. Reyaaz Mulla has doubled with Ahrt Kh vs Aspades Qc on an Ad 7h 3c 2h 7d board against Ouday (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=317) Hikary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=317). Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 07, 2007, 06:17:49 PM Raj Modha (finally spelt his name right!) and Julian Thew were battling in a few pots as I joined their table.
The first hand was in progress as I joined and had been raised preflop. On a Jh 5c 9h flop, Julian had bet roughly 1200 after Raj checked, which Raj then check raised to 3000. Julian thought long and hard before passing.... Raj was then seen calling a Julian raise. The Q 4 6 flop was checked, and on the 2 turn, Raj's check was swiftly followed by a bet of 5 or 600 by Julian, which was good enough to make Raj pass... Looks like these two will be going at it till one of them is knocked out Here are the protagonists as a thoughtful looking Julian collects this pot.... Stuart Rutter told me of a slightly crazy hand. 3-way pot with 300 in. Board is T-8-7-6. Stuart checks his 9. Mateyboy 1 bets 500. Mateboy 2 raises to 2,500. Stuart passes. Mateyboy 1 shoves for 6,000 with his 9. Mateyboy 2 calls with J-9. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 06:49:15 PM Lucy Rokach just seen leaving the building.
Also gone is Priyan De Mel, something about Aces being cracked. Rob Garfield out with Sevens against Aces. Roberto Romanello exited too when he had K-8 against K-K on a King high board. "You're putting me on tilt!" as he raised to 600 UTG. (blinds 75/150). The big blind was the only caller. Flop: Aspades Qd 4c Big blind checks, Ryan bets 1,200. Big blind folds. Ryan shows Ts 6h. Wong makes it 500 preflop (100/200), Willie Tann re-raises to 2,000 and gives it a bit of the old verbals. Wong passes, Willie shows 5-2 off. Err.. John's timing was a bit errr...off. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 07:53:37 PM The Willie Tann/John Wong match-up continues. Willie bets 500 on the Kc Ts 9d flop and is called. He follows this up with a 1,600 bet on the 6d turn. Wong thinks for a while and Willie is all smiley and chatty. Wong takes out one of earphones after a while.
"What do you want me to do?" he asks Willie. "I want you to move all-in," is the bracelet winner's reply with a smile. "Ok then." And quick as a flash, John pushes for 5,175 more. Willie's jokey demeanour dissipates and after a couple of minutes passes. Wong shows Ahrt Td. Hoss Parkhizar is OUT. Goodall's A-2 and Sid's Q-9 were quite far behind Hooper's bullets and stayed that way, especially after the case Ace came on the turn.

The board read: Kc 4c 9h 5d Qh Terrence Page checked, John Smith bet 1k, Chris Hooper made it 8,800. A huge double the size of the pot raise. Page dwelled and passed, Smith called for his stack with Ks 4s. Hooper showed Jd Td for the rivered nuts. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=951&g2_serialNumber=1) For some reason he looked slightly more perturbed in this picture but take my word for it, he's very relaxed... Meanwhile, on the same table the wheels fall off for Marc Coupe(boom boom), who gets his 5 or 6k stack in preflop against a man in middle position who I believe is Ewan Hardie... Coupe tables QQ, Hardie has the dominating KK and a TJ x A x flop is no help, so he departs the table... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 07, 2007, 10:49:25 PM Bev Pace has doubled up courtesy of KK. The board blanked out up to the turn, and Bev was looking like she might be joining the massed throng on the rail, but a river K saved her bacon and she turned the cooler into moolah... Mick Jones is down, both in morale and monetary terms, but not yet out. Please note I resisted all temptation to incorporate any weak jokes about "hail"-ing cabs" and such when there was a bevy of similar puns available to me. In a similar vein I haven't submitted to the growing hoardes of folk cracking puns concerning M Wong, one of the current chip leaders, name. As we all know two wongs don't...NO I WILL BE STRONG! All-in on a J-T-5 flop with K-Q against Olzhas Altynbaev's pocket Tens. The turn was a Jack making the river incidental. Billy Ngo pushes all-in on a 6c 2c 7s 8s board forcing Ewan Hardie to fold. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 07, 2007, 11:08:59 PM Chris Gavriel is amassing what appears to be an ever larger stack of chips.
I joined a hand he was in with Anthony Horn on the river of a 7c 7h 8d Kc 3d board. Anthony bet 2.5k into the pot which seemed to contain 3-4k. Chris raised another 5k on top which convinced Anthony to pass. The stack swells again..... I hoped to have a word with Soxy but he had vacated his seat temporarily. A glance at his stack seemed to suggest it was reduced somewhat though. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 07, 2007, 11:26:45 PM Break time for 10 minutes.
Ed Arees has doubled up his short stack with Td Tc against Ryan Fronda's Ahrt Th on a Jh 5h 4c board. Thewy didn't actually get a full double up with his quads (I think he stuck a third raise in but not all his stack), though he is rueing the fact he didn't push the river as AA to TT is bound to call. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 12:12:18 AM Ok, in Barcelona I managed to get a scandie who looked like someone from the Phillip Marlowe influenced show 'Veronica Mars'
Here's another Paul King (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=955&g2_serialNumber=1) And Enrico Colantoni from Veronica Mars. (And also "Just Shoot Me" too) (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/62/Keith_Mars_1.jpg/250px-Keith_Mars_1.jpg) Meanwhile back to the serious action Reyaaz Mulla doubles up short stack Scott Twiggs with Kd Jh against Aspades 7h on a 3d Qs 5s Ahrt 9s board. Mark Lowe bets every street of a Ad Th Jc Kc Td board until Terence Page finally folds on the river to a 7k bet. Blind on blind action. Osman Mustanoglu bets 1.5k on a Tc 9s 6s board. Thewy raises to 4.5k (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=957&g2_serialNumber=1) Osman flashes the 9d and passes. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 08, 2007, 12:14:50 AM Incidentally, just in case you aren't aware it's 200 400 now.
Chris Gavriel appears to have circa 50k in his stack now... Sitting next to him, chatting to him about a previous hand is Anthony Horn with roughly 30k... Elaine Hatfield has been getting busy.... Here is a hand that will appeal to blondites. Raising Derek Pennington's big blind to roughly 1200 which is called by Derek, the A A 3 flop is checked by both players. On the 7 turn, Derek bets out 1.5k which Elaine calls. The river 5 is checked by Derek at which point Elaine bets 7k(!) Derek shuffles and twitches and thinks and studies and ultimately finds a call of this rather large bet with the mighty 7d 4d (aka the panther) Elaine taps the table, her K3 no match for Derek. A fine call though, leaving Elaine somewhat short. Soon after she appears to lose it somewhat as she gets involved in a preflop allin with AK (fair enough) vs an opponent's 8s and loses the race. What was strange though was her berating the table for "forcing her to call..." She's certainly been full entertainment value, we hope to see Elaine again but for now, she's hittin' the rail... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 08, 2007, 12:20:30 AM Meanwhile Alan Vinson has doubled up, his AK shove called by Warren Wooldridge's 77.
A King on the river sealed the deal, pushing Alan's stack up but putting a possibly crucial dent in Warren's stack.... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 12:39:36 AM Warren Wooldridge is OUT.
A-8 vs Chris Bruce's Kings. (The latter having a fairly eventful day going up and down, having Queens 4 times early on and losing 3 of those times.) Osman Mustanoglu is OUT. Flopped the nut-flush draw with Ahrt 4h, failed to hit against John Falconer's Kc Ks. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 12:58:30 AM Raj Modha has doubled up with K-J against K-T on a J-J-T board, crippling Olzhas Altynbaez in the process.
Meanwhile, next door, James Akenhead (still sitting next to Chaz Chattha) has just doubled through Burnley John with Kings against Ace King. No details on his exit hand but he has vacated the table..
Chris Sokrati is looking quite short now . With blinds of 300 600, his 8 or 9k stack is looking under threat. Alan Vinson looks to have around 12-13k. Raj Modha is sitting on roughly 16k. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 01:21:01 AM Chris Bruce is OUT.
He'd just lost a coinflip with K-J against 7-7. He pushed from the big blind against a Chris Gavriel utg raise and an Alan Vinson call. Chris Bruce whispered to me, "I've got them both on small pairs." Gavriel called and Vinson folded. Bruce flipped Kh Ts, Gavriel showed Ahrt Aspades. Ah. (I guess Ones are a small pair though?) No help from the board, and Chris Bruce is off to enjoy the WSOPE main event instead. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 01:26:44 AM Interesting ways of chip stacking...

I don't have the full details of this one, but David Ruddling is OUT. Chris Gavriel increases his stack yet further as the chips were fired in on a turn card that made David a flush but which also made Chris Gavriel a full house... Wong is involved in a monster pot shoving the river on a TJK44 board against Reyazz Mulla. Unfortunately for Wong Mulla turned over KK for the nut full house and made a huge dent in Wong's stack. No time for Wong puns, just an apology from me for bokking him so successfully. Paul King is OUT. The chips went in on a QJ8 flop but his opponent, Terrance Page's JQ was ahead. The 9 turn and 9 river were no help and Paul King departed. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 01:45:19 AM Short break before the last level. 33 remain at the moment.
Julian Thew just check/raised James Akenhead's 2,375 bet on a 9d 6s 5c to 7,475 to take down the pot. He's up to around 23k now after losing a bit doubling up Chaz Chattha with A-8 against A-K. Paul Garner is out after he was crippled with Queens against Burnley John's Ace King. He departed shortly after. The latter flopped a full house. And turned Quads. Ryan was left bemoaning, "I never get lucky, never ever..." Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 08, 2007, 02:18:17 AM At 400 800 the blinds are like this fellow.
(http://www.tdubel.com/skinit/kuvat/evox/jaws.jpg) They're biting hard... Alan Vinson is OUT. Pushing for just over 10k under the gun with 99, he ran into AA and couldn't spike the card he needed, so bit the dust. Chris Gavriel was also involved in a big pot. Raising from the cut off to 2800, he was reraised another 5k by Laurence Houghton from the small blind, which Chris called. Laurence bet 6500 out at the 8c 4s Jc and Chris immediately moved allin. After a long time , and finally having the clock called on him, Laurence passed and Chris augmented his already massive stack.. Terence Page check/raises all-in for 25k more on a Jd 5h 5c board after John Wong bets 5k. Wong dwells for a while then makes the call. "Good call." Page flips Kh Qc Wong shows Ad Jc. Turn: Kc River: Qh One in the gonads. Terence Page up to almost 70k now. Wong down to around 20k. Board not helpful. Or even interesting. Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 02:36:49 AM Any news on Adrian Morris ? and if poss can we have a pic please and wish him good luck from all at the workys in Falmouth cheers Sorry about that, missed this post. He's still in, in fact he just moved all-in for about 13k stealing those blinds and antes to put him up to around 15k. As I join Chris Gavriel's table, he is busy raking in another biggish pot... Burnley John is seen pushing preflop from the SB. The BB folds and he shows AhQh. Beverly Pace appears to have roughly 34k-35k... Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 08, 2007, 03:01:17 AM Just before the end B Gibson doubles through Reyaaz Mulla with A-T against K-K.
Board was the always entertaining Q-J-4-5-K. Play has now finished for the day. Chip counts up when we get them. 57 will return for tomorrow where we'll play to the final table. Somewhat unluckily his AK couldn't hold vs AT as the board came 7 x 9 8 J or similar configuration to leave him bemoaning his luck at the end of a long day's poker... That's a wrap folks. The players are vacating the building as will we be shortly so thanks for following and ;stickaforkinme; Title: Re: Bluesquare.com Plymouth GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: JungleCat03 on September 08, 2007, 04:38:16 AM Final chip counts from day 1b courtesy of those benevolent beavers at blue square
