Hi guys, back for day 2 and a cracking day's poker is on the horizon, with a pretty strong field assembled in the cardroom.

There are some interesting tables scattered about. There are two tables seperated from the main throng of 8 tables which look like they could be interesting.

Table 9 is home to Raj Modah, the ladbrokes million winner, Julian Thew, of course, who will no doubt be applying his yoyo tactics to good effect and John Falconer, who is wearing an interesting T Shirt, with a logo which is most certainly non-blonde compliant. I'll give you a clue for fun though

Anyway this table should provide some entertainment.

Indeed as I watch Julian is involved in a pot already. Having raised a preflop limper, the limpers bet out of 400 on a flop is raised to 1150 or so by Julian. The limper calls.

The turn is quite the action card, or as it turns out the action-killing card... the .

Both players check quickly.

The river 9, the limper bets out 800 which Julian quickly passes to. He flashed his cards but sadly I wasn't well positioned to see. I'll ask him about it later.

The limper showed J9 for the full house.....

SHOCK HORROR. We have an elimination already! Possibly a record for a gukpt, the legend that is Albert Sapiano, 4th in the Brighton GUKPT, IS OUT in less than 30 minutes!

Details of the hand are that in a raised pot, himself and Sid Harris saw a 678 flop with 2 clubs. Albert's bet of 1k was raised to 3k by Sid.

The turn was bet to the tune of 2 or 3k by Sid and again Albert called.

The river As was shoved by Sid and Albert obviously viewed the A as a safe card for his QQ, making the call, and finding, somewhat unsurprisingly that Sid's 78 full house was ever so far ahead.

RIP Albert's chips, gone but not forgotten....

Irish Denis has joined the tables as an alternate, along with Ouday Hikary and Hoss Parhizkar and will no doubt be spicing up affairs.

I suspect it was a little tongue in cheek.

Anyways, Sid (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) Harris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) has claimed yet another victim, catapulting him clear into the lead at this early point.  He became involved in a raised pot preflop with Paul Kemp.

On a A 9 8 flop, Harris bet 600 which Kemp raised to 1200 and was reraised by Harris to 3700, Kemp now pushed. Didn't take Sid long to call with 99 before Kemp showed  down AK. Er....

An Ace on the turn, gave Kemp some hope, but an effectively blank T on the river consigned him to the casualty list and gave Harris a nice chunky amount of chips to play with....

Thewy lost a chunk after his raise with Aces met with a J-9-8 two suits board, the turn made the flush which both checked. Thewy folded on the river when a second Jack turned up.

Yes Ian Herbert has bitten the dust. After limping UTG, Danni Allen raised to 700 from the BB which Ian called.

On the KJ6 flop Danni led for 800 which Ian responded to by pushing allin.

His KQ however was no match for Danni's flopped set with JJ, which duly held sending Ian to the rail...

Paul King bets 1.5k on a Ks 7d Ad 4h board, Marc Coupe check calls, but puts his breaks on once more on the 5d river and checks to King, who asks how much he has left, "around 7k" is the answer.

Paul bets a suspicous 4.5k and gets the pass that I think his bluff wanted.

He just bet 500 from the big blind on the turn of a T-6-5-5 board with A-5, crazy woman calls, river is a 9. Chris bets 500, she makes it 1,500. He calls, and she shows 8-7 for the rivered straight.

Raj Modha (finally spelt his name right!) and Julian Thew were battling in a few pots as I joined their table.

The first hand was in progress as I joined and had been raised preflop.

On a Jh 5c 9h flop, Julian had bet roughly 1200 after Raj checked, which Raj then check raised to 3000. Julian thought long and hard before passing....

Raj was then seen calling a Julian raise.

The Q 4 6 flop was checked, and on the 2 turn, Raj's check was swiftly followed by a bet of 5 or 600 by Julian, which was good enough to make Raj pass...

Looks like these two will be going at it till one of them is knocked out

Stuart Rutter told me of a slightly crazy hand. 3-way pot with 300 in. Board is T-8-7-6. Stuart checks his 9. Mateyboy 1 bets 500. Mateboy 2 raises to 2,500. Stuart passes. Mateyboy 1 shoves for 6,000 with his 9. Mateyboy 2 calls with J-9.

Kazi Hanis has been eliminated by none other than blondite Bev Pace.

On a T 8 6 flop the chips flew in with Kazi feeling his 66 would be good but unluckily for him Mrs. Pace held the formidable TT for top set.

Unable to spike his one out, the chips were passed to Bev, who has increased her stack to what looks like roughly 16k or so.

Ryan Fronda is amongst the chip leaders early on and being constantly mocked by Barry Neville.

A nice little sparring match going on between John Wong and Willie Tann. Wong makes it 500 preflop (100/200), Willie Tann re-raises to 2,000 and gives it a bit of the old verbals. Wong passes, Willie shows 5-2 off.

Err.. John's timing was a bit errr...off.

The Willie Tann/John Wong match-up continues. Willie bets 500 on the Kc Ts 9d flop and is called. He follows this up with a 1,600 bet on the 6d turn. Wong thinks for a while and Willie is all smiley and chatty. Wong takes out one of earphones after a while.

"What do you want me to do?" he asks Willie.

"I want you to move all-in," is the bracelet winner's reply with a smile.

"Ok then." And quick as a flash, John pushes for 5,175 more. Willie's jokey demeanour dissipates and after a couple of minutes passes. Wong shows Ahrt Td.

Hoss Parkhizar is OUT.

Thewy is short after bluffing a Kd 7h Kh 9c 2h board, only for James Akenhead to call with 7d 9d.

Chris Hooper has huge chips after N Goodall and Sid Harris both got all their chips in on a Q-5-4 flop. Goodall's A-2 and Sid's Q-9 were quite far behind Hooper's bullets and stayed that way, especially after the case Ace came on the turn.

Ian Cox just got a lucky break.

He bet 5k on the turn of a Kd 9c Jd 2d board with Ad Ks, only to find Mark McFarlane moving all-in for not much more with Jc Js. Ian spiked the 4d river though...

Chris Hooper added to his stack.

Terrence Page checked, John Smith bet 1k, Chris Hooper made it 8,800. A huge double the size of the pot raise. Page dwelled and passed, Smith called for his stack with Ks 4s. Hooper showed Jd Td for the rivered nuts.

I speak to Chris Sokrati, aka Soxy, who seems chilled out and is sitting fine on 20k at the moment, with the average at roughly 15k.

For some reason he looked slightly more perturbed in this picture but take my word for it, he's very relaxed...

Meanwhile, on the same table the wheels fall off for Marc Coupe(boom boom), who gets his 5 or 6k stack in preflop against a man in middle position who I believe is Ewan Hardie...

Coupe tables QQ, Hardie has the dominating KK and a TJ x A x flop is no help, so he departs the table...

Yup Julian hit quads on the turn after both slowplayed the flop and got the rest of his double up on the river.

Bev Pace has doubled up courtesy of KK. After pushing preflop, she found a caller in Mick Jones who had the rather tasty AA.

The board blanked out up to the turn, and Bev was looking like she might be joining the massed throng on the rail, but a river K saved her bacon and she turned the cooler into moolah...

Mick Jones is down, both in morale and monetary terms, but not yet out.

Please note I resisted all temptation to incorporate any weak jokes about "hail"-ing cabs" and such when there was a bevy of similar puns available to me. In a similar vein I haven't submitted to the growing hoardes of folk cracking puns concerning M Wong, one of the current chip leaders, name. As we all know two wongs don't...NO I WILL BE STRONG!

Brighton winner Dave Smith is OUT.

All-in on a J-T-5 flop with K-Q against Olzhas Altynbaev's pocket Tens. The turn was a Jack making the river incidental.

Billy Ngo pushes all-in on a 6c 2c 7s 8s board forcing Ewan Hardie to fold.

Chris Gavriel is amassing what appears to be an ever larger stack of chips.

I joined a hand he was in with Anthony Horn on the river of a 7c 7h 8d Kc 3d board.

Anthony bet 2.5k into the pot which seemed to contain 3-4k. Chris raised another 5k on top which convinced Anthony to pass. The stack swells again.....

I hoped to have a word with Soxy but he had vacated his seat temporarily. A glance at his stack seemed to suggest it was reduced somewhat though.

Break time for 10 minutes.

Ed Arees has doubled up his short stack with Td Tc against Ryan Fronda's Ahrt Th on a Jh 5h 4c board.

Thewy didn't actually get a full double up with his quads (I think he stuck a third raise in but not all his stack), though he is rueing the fact he didn't push the river as AA to TT is bound to call.

Ok, in Barcelona I managed to get a scandie who looked like someone from the Phillip Marlowe influenced show 'Veronica Mars'

Elaine Hatfield has been getting busy....

Here is a hand that will appeal to blondites.

 Raising Derek Pennington's big blind to roughly 1200 which is called by Derek, the A A 3 flop is checked by both players. On the 7 turn, Derek bets out 1.5k which Elaine calls.

The river 5 is checked by Derek at which point Elaine bets 7k(!)

Derek shuffles and twitches and thinks and studies and ultimately finds a call of this rather large bet with the mighty 7d 4d (aka the panther)

Elaine taps the table, her K3 no match for Derek.

A fine call though, leaving Elaine somewhat short. Soon after she appears to lose it somewhat as she gets involved in a preflop allin with AK (fair enough) vs an opponent's 8s and loses the race. What was strange though was her berating the table for "forcing her to call..."

She's certainly been full entertainment value, we hope to see Elaine again but for now, she's hittin' the rail...

Meanwhile Alan Vinson has doubled up, his AK shove called by Warren Wooldridge's 77.

A King on the river sealed the deal, pushing Alan's stack up but putting a possibly crucial dent in Warren's stack....

He'd just lost a coinflip with K-J against 7-7. He pushed from the big blind against a Chris Gavriel utg raise and an Alan Vinson call.

Wong is involved in a monster pot shoving the river on a TJK44 board against Reyazz Mulla. Unfortunately for Wong Mulla turned over KK for the nut full house and made a huge dent in Wong's stack.

No time for Wong puns, just an apology from me for bokking him so successfully.

Paul King is OUT. The chips went in on a QJ8 flop but his opponent, Terrance Page's JQ was ahead. The 9 turn and 9 river were no help and Paul King departed.

Julian Thew just check/raised James Akenhead's 2,375 bet on a 9d 6s 5c to 7,475 to take down the pot. He's up to around 23k now after losing a bit doubling up Chaz Chattha with A-8 against A-K.

Chris Gavriel was also involved in a big pot.

Raising from the cut off to 2800, he was reraised another 5k by Laurence Houghton from the small blind, which Chris called.

Laurence bet 6500 out at the 8c 4s Jc and Chris immediately moved allin.

After a long time , and finally having the clock called on him, Laurence passed and Chris augmented his already massive stack..
