Runar Runarsson ;D rotflmfao ;D His name has caused much hilarity in the press room bless him. The guy was made to play poker, and indeed had great success early this year coming second in the Grand Prix de Paris winning 224,480 euros. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 01:46:51 PM Howdy Ho, good people of blonde, and welcome to what should be a sizzling day of poker fun and frolics. The big news in the press room - well, for them anyhow - is that blondeite running buddies Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) and Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) are seated next door to each other. Bamboozled by what was a random draw, the two Northerners try to work out the odds on this occurring, and I think they came up with 45 to 1 in the end. I'm not sure how accurate that ratio is though.
In other news, Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) Colclough (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) will be keen to impress this week and prove his worth with any potential sponsors. He's running very well at the moment and is in with a great shout, but he may also consider accruing a secretary to organise his poker activities as we received a text earlier this morning requesting time of kick-off. The temptation to give an incorrect time was overwhelming. Speaking of the old guard, how the heck did Liam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=638) Flood (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=638) go from shortstack to second in chips at the speed of a fart? Ireland's Mike (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=670) Lacey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=670) didn't seem too surprised, simply adding, "That's Liam". Maybe there's life in the ol dog yet... Finally, many thanks to Danny McHugh and the rest of the Mayo Mob for donning the blondepoker logo. It's very much appreciated and we hope to see you guys further down the line, perhaps at the Irish Poker Open next year. What we have seen, however, are some mighty big pots and some seemingly brave all-ins. One of those was from Andrew Grimason, who, facing a bet of 10,450 on a Ks 7h 3h Flop, was forced into the think tank by table neighbour Kevin Vreeswijk. Puffing his cheeks out and casually listening to his ipod, Kevin turned to his opponent and looked him straight in the eyes, but it would appear that this confidence was a mere facade as Grimason opted to move all-in before adopting a rigid hands on chin posture.
Kevin quickly folded, leaving Andrew to breath out a deep sigh of relief and thank the Heavens for the fold, although, of course, this could have been a cover up for a bigger hand. "Show us the bluff!" commanded Paul Gourlay. I think from the pictures and the expression on their faces you can tell who's who. He was all-in on a Ks Jh Jd 6s 9h board, leaving the unusually named Ziad Kaady (where does that name originate from?!) with what appeared to be a tricky decision. He did eventually fold, but it was a nice pot and one that Brandon was in desperate need of.

The mouthy Londoner isn't someone who wouldn't normally go unnoticed, but I must confess to forgetting he even existed in the comp. "Oh that's great that is," he moans. "I'll try and make your job easier than, shall I, and get myself knocked out."
On a more serious note, Woodley continued, "I haven't seen much in the way of hands, so am below my starting stack for today. Just took the blinds once, that was it." The big news in the press room - well, for them anyhow - is that blondeite running buddies Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) and Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) are seated next door to each other. Bamboozled by what was a random draw, the two Northerners try to work out the odds on this occurring, and I think they came up with 45 to 1 in the end. I'm not sure how accurate that ratio is though. [/b]In other news, Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) Colclough (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) will be keen to impress this week and prove his worth with any potential sponsors. Maybe there's life in the ol dog yet... Finally, many thanks to Danny (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=969) McHugh (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=969) and the rest of the Mayo Mob for donning the blondepoker logo. It's very much appreciated and we hope to see you guys further down the line, perhaps at the Irish Poker Open next year. Does this mean that Blonde are covering our entry fees...... Jeez guys you are too good! :)up Also can you keep us up to date on Len Colin please, Thanks. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 03:21:02 PM Speaking of Mike McDonald and Dave Colclough, the rest of their table have gone all antsy in their pantsy leading to a three way pot with two players all-in before the flop. It was a rather simple procedure in the end, the shortstack pushing with A-4, Tommi Linfors (pictured) re-raising with A-J before being called all-in by fellow Fin Sami Kalopuro in the next seat with A-K.
Although the Big Slick was in good shape, it wasn't enough against the A-J of Tommi which hit three pair (if that was a legal poker hand) on a J-9-9-8-8 board. As a result, Sami is sent to the sidelines leaving Tommi with 80k in chips and a smile as wide as Paul Daniels' face. Then left with a pittance, moved all in with A5 but was called by AQ and that's all she wrote.
An exciting double up for Noah Boeken now on around 80,000. I caught the action late unfortunately, but I joined the plentiful onlookers at the table when Portugeuse player Antonio Lemos was facing an all in from Noah with 4 cards on the board. He was actually put on the clock and looked like a very tough decision. The cards on board were: Tc 6c 5c Ks Thomas Kremser was next to Lemos and announced "You have 5 secs, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" On Thomas's 1, the Bono duplicate said "CALL" and was faced with a superfast turn over from Noah Boeken holding Qc 8c for the flopped flush. Mr Lemos tried to muck his cards but Thomas made him turn the cards over and showed Ahrt 5h and a gasp in shock followed from the audience. I missed the action previously but onlookers said that Noah had been dishing out some speach play, so maybe it was this that finally tipped the balance for the call. Anway, Antonio Lemos was left with only about 4,500 in chips and a very red face. Thanks , These two are doing great: Guillaume de la Gorce - 93,600 (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=3239&g2_serialNumber=1) Ludovic Lacay - 112,700 (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=3241&g2_serialNumber=1) Great... thanks Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 05:21:38 PM Can you update on "Zim" and "Punk" please. And of course any news on Mr Green getting the aces is much appreciated If Punk is John (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=608) Conroy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=608), then he's already gone. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 05:25:53 PM "I f***ed up," announced an honest Liam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=638) Flood (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=638) as he approached the press room.
J-T versus the Q-Q of Andy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=469) Black (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=469) doesn't sound particularly bad in itself, but when you add the phrase 'all-in pre-flop', then take a slightly darker turn. Before that 'accident', I did manage to snap Liam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=638) Flood (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=638) with his very own personalised button, many of which are scattered across the cardroom. According to the Irishman, the guy on the phone said, "Tell you what, we'll stick your name on em too," and Liam just shrugged his shoulders and said okay. Fair enough. Moments before his untimely exit, Andy Black exclaimed in his usual boisterous manner, "Can we have a non Liam Flood button please whilst Liam's on the table? It's a tremendous advantage." Thierry Van Der Berg has been knocked out by Anitjonor Aleksandr with J-J vs. 2-2. Kevin Vreeswijk is also out after moving in with 9-7 versus the 7-7 of Johannes Steindl. The Sevens stood up. Surinder Sunar has been eliminated by Ramzi Jelassi. No further details. Paul Gourlay doubled through by going all-in with 6-3 and hitting a full house. Then he found Aces on the big blind and one non-beleiver. The Rocket Man now up to 28,000. Neighbour Ash Hussain also has 28,000. I didn't catch the pe-flop action, but he clashed with Mike McDonald in the big blind and checked a Jc 6d 5h Flop. Mike bet out, Ramzi raised, Mike pushed all-in and Ramzi called, for what was ultimately a paltry sum.
Ramzi = Kh Kd Mike = 5c 5d Turn = Aspades River = 2s Ramzi not a happy chappy. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: rag2gar on November 01, 2007, 08:18:24 PM What happened to andy grimasson?
Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 08:18:25 PM On the next table, Ash Hussain knocks Dave Colcough down to just 15k with Qs Ts versus Ac Jc all-in on a Flop of Qc Qd 9c. Turn and River were blanks.
"You don't know how far behind you are," claims Ash Hussain on the Flop. "I'm happy with the pot as it is." On the turn of the River, Ash rose from his seat and clapped his hands, "Come on!" much like he did in the 2006 Monte Carlo final when he outdrew Kristian Ulriksen. Obviously winning an EPT means a lot to the former European Rankings winner. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: Chili on November 01, 2007, 08:28:44 PM Great news for Paul Gourlay as he just doubled up thru Lacay. There was a raise of 4,600 which Lacay just called which resulted in Gourlay going all in for a further 12,700 from the small blind. Lacay clearly didn't want to call as the original raiser passed, but he did and the result was:
Gourlay 6d 6c Lacay Qs Jh Paul's 6's were good and he now has a much healthier 40,000. We have just started Level 12 1,000 / 2,000 200 ante 40 players left 82,000 average Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 08:40:03 PM What happened to andy grimasson? Andy went out in the most testicle crunching of ways, his Aces versus Kings, all-in pre-flop, flopping a set and then losing to runner runner flush. In think that is worthy of an ouch picture... "It's the curse of Day 2," moans El Blondie dejectedly. "I think we've seen this before". However, he's still in, albeit it with few chips, but alive nonetheless and still in with a shot if he can gather speed with a couple of double ups. Why this lad hasn't made an EPT final is anyone's guess, but perhaps this year's Dublin EPT will belong to bad_ip.

When I joined the action, it was on your backs times with Michiel relieved to be ahead with Twos versus A-K. An intriguing second glance requiring 2-Q-A-4-A board later and it was all she wrote.

A Pokerstars qualifier for this & EPT London this year, just doubled up courtesy of Andy Black. As I arrived at table "Black" Andy was stacking up more chips from the last hand whilst Phidias looked down at JJ and raises to 6k.
Black instantly says "22,000" Phidias goes all in and its a total of 31,700 that Andy instacalls. Andy Black Ad Qs Phidias Georgiou Jh Jd The Jacks hold and gives the Cypriot a small bit of breathing space with 65,000. A little dent on Andy's tall towers but I dont see any of the brown 5k denomination chips in his stack. 6d 9s Jh Lacay checked and Paul bet 8k with 42k left. This was met with a min raise from Lacay, who has been rather volatile on the table, going from chip leader to average regularly. Paul then took the chance and committed the rest of his chips only to be shown the J9 of Ludvic Lacay. Paul is OUT and Ludvic is back up to about 120,000. Naturally, both players called, and then subsequently checked down a 6d Kd 9c 8s 3d board, Lodden even announcing that he was going to check the Flop blind. With Lodden's Ahrt Ts and Ash's 4h 4c failing to improve, it was left to El Blondie's Kc Jh to scoop up a nice pot. "Now I'm dangerous!" he cheers. "Don't ever treble me up." "He can't even look at me," comments El Blondie trying to look into the eyes of his opponent. "It's okay, I'm folding," concedes DC revealing Pocket Fours as his opponent breathes a sigh of relief and returns to his seat. "You can see one card," teases Manninen. "Naaah," says Dave pushing them away. Manninen shows Colclough an Ace, at which point the table says in unison, "Hey, you said he could pick." "Yeah, I'll pick the other one," requests Colclough as his attempt to flick up the second card is denied. Meanwhile, Colclough sits on around 70-75k. "You do this more than anyone in the World," claims Black. "that's the problem." Annette's deftly stare and formidable poker face crumbles as a schoolgirl giggle sounds from beyond the Terminator shades. "What are you laughing at?" asks Black amused. Annette refuses to respond. A sign of strength or weakness? Black seems perplexed. Shuffling his cards and riffling his chips with the enthusiasm of a ten year old, the decision seems like a problematic one, Black's suspicions of Annette's positional raise from the small blind perhaps overriding the strength of his hand. However, although I'm sure he contemplated that Annette may be attacking a fellow deep stack intentionally, Black decides not to take the risk and opts for a fold, a knowing smirk on the Irisman's face as he mucks. As Annette scoops in yet another pot, of varying sizes, she adds to her ever-increasing towers that now threaten to submerge her. Meanwhile, her opponents look on with envy at what must now be a circa 300k stack and possible chip lead whilst the other onlookers crowding the rail await with anticipation the next Black/Obrestad clash. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 01, 2007, 11:42:08 PM After punishing Johnny Lodden's small blind limp, albeit with a smile, with an all-in push, Dave Colclough finds himself all-in once again on the very next hand. Playing from the small blind, Dave checks an 8c 3s 5s Flop only for his Finnish neighbour in the big blind, Reijo Manninen to bet out 6k. Moments later, Dave 's chips are being slid across the line and the crowd are swarming around, excitedly awaiting the conclusion of the hand. With his mouth hovering over the microphone, Thomas Kremser's spiel is triggered as Manninen announces call and shows Ts 7s. Colclough, meanwhile, flips a leading, but ultimately rather vulnerable Kh 8h.
A Js on the Turn and it was over, Colclough had become EPT bubbleboy yet again and was forced to soak in the mixture of consolatory pats on the back, and secret punches of the air as the dealer reels out the academic Jh River. With Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) surviving an all-in with Pocket Queens - I think he was still happy to take the blinds - the player the other side, Csaba Malnai, of the dealer couldn't escape an uncontested push as his all-in was semi-hesitantly called for 11k more by Annette (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) Obrestad (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=902) in the big blind. Csaba = Ad Kd Annette = 7c 6h "Oooh, two live cards," observed Annette camply. Actually he reminded us that the story is not too disimilar to his route to the Monte Carlo EPT Final. We all know anything can happen! Full chip counts and remaining 24 players are in cyberspace and will be with us then you very shortly. Here is the hero himself keeping a cool calm poker face whilst all in a little earlier ;) ;D (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=3321&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 02, 2007, 12:03:34 AM Bubble boy Dave Colclough bids an emotional farewell to the Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT.

Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on November 02, 2007, 12:28:02 AM Whilst Chili and my good self nip off to partake in the hotly contested media STT, we'll leave you to reflect in what was a genuinely eventful day. Of course, the pinnacle of that excitement was the ever-heartbreaking bubble, in which Ash Hussain and Dave Colclough battled for that creep-into-the-money spot. Unfortunately for the El Blondie fans, it was the latter of those two who snapped up the 'you go home with nothing' 25th place, resulting in 14 non-cashes for DC and three painful bubbles.
As they used to say on a popular cartoon, "Next time, Gadget, next time!", but while Dave plans for his next DTD-less outing, possibly in Amsterdam next week, we're bracing ourselves for Day 3 of this thrilling Dublin EPT in which the aforelisted 24 players will return. Among them is the likes of Ash Hussain, Andy Black, Annette Obrestad and several other interesting names to keep an eye on, so please make sure you join us tomorrow at 2pm, same bat time, same bat channel. Until then, keep it real. Aii! ;stickaforkinme; Title: Re: Pokerstars.com Dublin EPT: Day 2 - Interactive Post by: tikay on November 02, 2007, 12:44:53 AM Whilst Chili and my good self nip off to partake in the hotly contested media STT, we'll leave you to reflect in what was a genuinely eventful day. If Sponsoring players is a good thing for Online Cardrooms - & I'm not certain it's a cash-positive thing personally - then there is nobody more likely to pick up a sponsors shirt than DC, he has a tremendous record in Tournaments. DART - Dublin Area Rapid Transit - hugs the coastline for almost it's entire length, & it must be quite a beautiful track upon which to travel. Certainly a whole lot more beautiful than sitting in yer motor in some of the most horrendous traffic going into Dublin. The route that the dart takes gave Dublin one of its first property booms - places like howth, malahide in the north of the city to Stillorgan, and Dalkey in the south, were the first commuter areas to take off pricewise. if we knew then what we know now.... [/quote] You dont understand it correctly. My agreement with Rob was for at least 12 months. However, after 12 months DTD have decided that they can no longer fund sponsored players. i would have loved to continue working with DTD but its a straight forward business decision that I accept. The first comps that I played were the televised William Hill and the Dublin EPM where I made the televised final in November last year. 12 months ago. There are no hard feelings on either side. It's just a straight forward business decision. I thank DTD for their support over the last year, and I believe the exposure that they received was good value for money. As for this EPT ... jeez, I just can't believe its happened again ;frustrated;... but thanks again to all the well wishers |
