Looks intresting,just found it.

I have seen links to tons of this stuff Shelly, spoilers, previews, interview slipups from the cast etc.
I personally stay away from anything that hints at or recaps previous seasons, there is one chap that posts on alluc with a map of the island with the location of the stations and schematics of them in his sig, it drives me nuts that i have to avoid all his posts!!
Thankfully one or two members on here have trained me for the task :D

Whats everyones thoughts on the 4 episodes so far??

the last series I actually got into a bit (Mrsboldie is a big fan so we don't miss an episode in our house...ever!)..the first 2 I thought were crap...and this one is fairly quickly leaning towards being crap again for me...I want action!..not this "will they, won't they" bollox.

I think it has been pretty good,  standard lost. I haven't got a clue whats going on, but its well acted and produced imo.

I waited months for the promised answers but so far it's just more questions, really starting to annoy me.

No it gives answers, its just each answer has a further 17 questions attached to them.

Fantastic season so far, i reckon Jacks Dad is coming back to life and playing a major role

Matt's not seen Lost before, but he was with me when I watched episode 3 of the new series.  I told him not to ask me what was going on, as I don't know!

Glad to have sky+ nowadays though - I had to rewind 3 times on Sunday to decipher what Kate had called the baby at the end!

I stopped watching the show half way through last series.  Only picked it up again because I thought there was some chance we'd get some real answers this season, but alas...they drag us along another bit.

One thing that is bugging me is we know of the 'Oceanic 6', of which 4 are confirmed so far, Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid. But Jack said to Kate outside the cop station that there were 8 survivors?

They said there were 8 survivors of the original plane crash..this would give people who wanted to stay on the island a chance to stay on the island.
 There might only have been 6 that were part of the Oceanic 6 and that could mean the other 2 died at some stage....wide ope to interpretation that one. The question is of course.."what happened to "the others" other than Ben"?..do they also get off the island?..If so how and what is their explanation?

I'm beginning to get bored just typing this...thank God they only show this nonsense 1 hour a week.

Yeah basically when the "oceanic 6" were rescued, I think they all came up with a story to cover what really happened. Jack has obviously told this story loads of times, which Kate referred to after the court case.

charlie spoke to penny and said that whatsisname was there too, so there obv needs to be a story to explain that if they didn't get off the island.

I don't understand the people that keep saying it's rubbish because they're not getting answers, yet these are the people that still watch the show!  :dontask:

Part of the shows success is that, much like Twin Peaks which most of these series owe their existence too, is that it keeps things open and encourages you to (god forbid!) use your imagination which is often much more interesting than any answer they could serve up.

In my opinion, they HAVE answered plenty of questions, but like DaveShoelace said, they open new questions, which is perhaps the show's biggest weapon as it keeps people watching. If they just answered everything in the first few episodes, there'd be no discussions with friends, no wonder, no nothing - that would be it and you'd have no reason to carry on watching. It's this mystery that people love, even if they don't know it!

Lost is awesome in my opinion. The acting is excellent and I love the fact there are so many questions as it gives you so much more to think about. I sincerely hope, as Twin Peaks did, that they don't attempt to wind every single arc, storyline, detail up by the end of the show. It's just a shame that the modern day audience wants everything served to them on a plate.

These are just the simple big ones, they promised some answers and i can't think of one so far this series.

Possibly the best show ever. I didnt get into it straight away when it first came out but got given the first series box set. Me and the missus watched all 24 (ish) epsiodes virtually back to back one weekend. I then took a few days off work, went and bought the next box set and did the same again. LIkewise the 3rd series after downloading it.

Only 8 survived the crash, 2 died while awaiting rescue, 6 survived but due to surviving on a diet consisting solely on "Magic Mushrooms" , they spent all their time on the island tripping off their tits and imagining all sorts of weird shit.

As I remember the clairvoyant arranged for Clare to have her baby adopted by an American couple and when she wanted to go on a different flight he was adamant that she went on the Oceanic flight KNOWING that it would crash presumably..WHY?

If Aaron is number 5 then we should assume Clare is dead.

Did I miss something, was it ever explained who the corpse was that Jack and Kate went to see at the funeral parlour?

Desmond was also on the helicopter but he wasnt a passenger so im assuming he wasnt counted and neither was Ben so that leaves 1 more.

Any guesses?

Would the person in the coffin at the end of the last season be no 6?   Sawyer perhaps?  Jack was surprised Kate didn't show up for the wake, she seem pretty annoyed at him in the last episode on the island

Not sure if Aaron would count or not.  Depending on whether Kate is passing Aaron off as her own or if she's just adopted him, then I would imagine Charlie and Claire would be the 'other 2' survivors.  Still don't know what happened to Michael and Walt though......

I don't think Aaaron is going to count as one of the 6, presumably Kate has claimed to have had Aaaron on the island. I think it is relatively safe to assume that Claire is not one of the 6 and is either dead or still on the island.

Also Jack seems to not want to see the child who is his nephew, does he feel guilty about the fact that its not Kates or how Claire appears not to be with Aaaron anymore.

I think one of the DVD's had an added scene where the clairvoyant told someone that he got paid 15K to make sure Claire was on the flight.

Yep. It was in series 2 or 3 where it is reveiled that Claire's dad is Jack's dad. Therefore jack and claire are half brother/sister.

Perhaps the Clairvoyant knew that one way or another Clare's baby would be taken but Kate would make the best "mother"

The corpse is a man with a son, said the newspaper clipping Jack was reading. My guess is Micheal, would certainly explain why they were not too favourable of him.

I dont think Locke and Sawyer would get off the Island. Neither man has an incentive to leave and I think they will leave several 'main' characters on the Island for what looks like an eventual return to the Island by the Oceanic 6.

All the signs are pointing to Claire dying, so I reckon she will live, but need to stay on the Island (Possibly tentativley linked to that 'pregnant women die on the Island' storyline.

Michael and Walt could actually be the last two of the Oceanic 6, I reckon they might be on the freighter, so it could be a good twist (Walt is probably 6ft with a beard by now).

Trying to remember what Sawyer knows, I remember he met Jacks dad in a pub and did he not meet Claire ?. I think he has made the connection but hasnt said anything yet.

I remember thinking at the time that the corpse might be Michael because it was someone with a son but Im not so sure now. Wasnt Sawyers girlfriend pregnant when they broke up...maybe its him.

The clairvoyant changed his stance from encouraging her to raise the baby herself to then deciding she could give it away. I think he was originally trying to prevent her from giving the baby up because he believed, from his visions, that Aaron would be in danger. He obviously had another vision about the crash, and then chose to go along with what she wanted, perhaps thinking the crash was a better option to what would happen if she gave it up. Whether he knew she would survive the crash or not, I'm not sure.

It is also worth noting that the clairvoyant confessed to being a fraud in one episode with Eko, but I think judging by his reactions to Claire, we're probably meant to believe that he was lying.

Isn't Michael a bit obvious though? Also, would Michael really commit suicide and leave Walt behind when he worked so hard to retrieve him from the Others? Surely Walt would turn up at the funeral too?

Episode 5 was one of the best 40 mins of tv i have ever watched, and yes ill admit i cried like a baby!

Wouldn't be surprised if the guy in the coffin was someone we've not been introduced to yet.  How old was Aaron in the flash-forwards? About 2?  So there's plenty more to happen in the meantime.

Horneris mentioned in another thread the guy in the coffins name from the newspaper clipping, sure it was John something, a name we havent heard of yet...

They may change their name though to remain as anonymous as possible and stay out of the limelight.

Just joking, but surely you can see how a show can be good without answering all your questions. the fact that you don't have an answer means you have to use your imagination, which is often more entertaining than any answer the directors could give you.

Oh, and I think the ship was called Black Rock.

As snoops said the black rock, which is the ship marooned on the island. I think this definitley going to be expanded on in future episodes.

I don't think they need to start answering questions. The only problem I have is when the show grinds to a halt. This happened at the start of Series 3, and it became rather tedious. However, they responded to complaints and made the following episodes some of the best yet. For me, the problem with these episodes wasn't that they weren't answering any questions, but more that they weren't offering any more clues or, at the least, opening up any new questions for you to think about. Once you give the audience nothing to chew on, it becomes focused entirely on the basic narrative which, if it isn't explosive (ie. not just three prisoners sitting in cages), can become a grind.

If there is one question that I would like the writers to focus on for a moment or two, it would be the black smoke. This feature has been prevalent all the way through, yet progress has been slow and it hasn't really developed further than being well... black smoke. With things like Dharma, we have been fed bit by bit and different segments of this aspect slowly revealed - no complete answer to their main objectives on the island, but progress in the story and background at least. In that sense, I would like to see them move the black smoke arc forward more and tell us a bit more about where it's coming from and why it's there.

They did it again, an episode which told us so much, yet nothing actually happened and we are non the wiser.

The rift in time thing can be used to explain almost everything btw, including:

Jacks dad coming back to life
Locke walking
Walt being taller
why the future selves want to get back on the island (cos they went crazy when they left it)
Why Jack, Kate, Sayid and Hurley could leave the island but others stayed (cos they were not exposed to radiation as they were with the others or on a boat when the hatch blew up)

They could also theortically change the future of the flashforwards if time travel is to be a theme

A cracking episode... Is there a break after 8? & 13 in the series?

I think I had heard (maybe here) that the last 5 episodes will be restarting early april, so we only have a few weeks to wait.

Interesting read, taken from another forum:

''Something Jack says under oath in the Kate centric flash forward has peaked my interest.

He states that only 8 people survived the crash and implies that it is Kate that saves them all.

However we know for a fact that ONLY 6 of the crash survivors make it off the Island. This implies that 2 die during the interval.

We know 4 of those that are now definitely members of the Oceanic 6; Hurley as revealed in Ep 4.01, Jack Ep 4.01, Sayid Ep 4.03 and Kate Ep 4.04. The term Oceanic 6 was never used before Ep 4.01 so it is only when they have appeared since then that they could be confirmed as such. This is confirmed by Ben's appearance at the end of Ep 4.03, proving that there are more ways on and off the Island

Additionally Aaron can not be a member of the Oceanic 6 as he was not born until after the crash. Further evidence that Aaron is not a member of the 6 is that the scrum of reporters in Kate's first flash forward make no reference to him. This is strange as reporters would naturally jump on how little Aaron is being looked after. It is the lack of these questions that point towards Aaron not being a widely known fact.

Now we know that the whole only 8 survivors statement is a story cooked up by the 6 members who leave the Island to disguise and obfuscate the real events. What peaks my interest is the benefit of addition of 2 members that fail to make it off the Island. Why not say only us 6 survived the accident.

The reason for the extra 2 survivors is obvious; they are needed to fill in a hole in the Oceanic 6 story.

Currently we know that; Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Jack make it off the Island with little Aaron in tow.

This leaves 2 more members; Sun is a certainty for leaving but the second is a mystery and I believe it is Sun that holds the key to one of the "deceased" survivors.

We know Sun is pregnant and got pregnant on the Island so either Jin is the final member of the Oceanic 6 or he is announced as having died on the Island. The argument that Jin is one of the 6 is apparently backed up by spoilers from the yet to be aired Ep 4.07. However I question the worth of a story line that takes Jin off the Island. I would find it more interesting if Jin and Sun had to say good bye or Jin dies. Just look at Ep 4.04, the conversation Jin and Sun are having on the beach they seem to have now fallen back in love and I believe we will see a rich and devoted love story being played out over the next few weeks. However at some point we will see Jin killed and hence his inclusion within the 8 survivors story Jack begins to tell.

So who is the sixth member of the Oceanic 6 and the final member of the 8 survivors?

With Aaron leading a life as Kate's "son", Claire must die at some point and I believe this also discounts her as a member of the story. Sawyer and Locke have no real benefit of being mentioned. Ana Lucia is out as Hurley denies meeting her, in fact none of the Tailies have appeared important on the Island (Libby is obviously an important player in the flash backs). So why bring Bernard in and let him survive?

This leads me to Bernard being the final member of the Oceanic 6 and Rose being the final survivor that "dies". Jack, Rose and Bernard all shared the same row of seats on the plane and so it would be more believable if they survived. It is also known that Rose had a fatal illness when she left Australia. Rose has made it clear she does not wish to leave the Island numerous times and so would not leave with Bernard.

Finally I find Kate's Mum's illness interesting. Kate visits her Mum as soon as she finds out about the illness and if my memory serves it is Kate's childhood friend that lets her know as soon as its diagnosed.

Kate's Mum states that she has been given 6 months to live for 4 years. Now (I'm not 100% and I believe LOSTpedia's timeline maybe wrong) Kate leaves for Australia straight after her visit to her Mum and is only 3 months there before she's caught. It is implied by the reaction of the press and her lawyer's statement at her arraignment that she has only just got off the Island. Leaving a few months for the trial this means that 3 years are missing. Is this the time lag?''

I actually dreamt about Lost last night - it's getting in my head I tell ya.  In my dream it transpired that Ben was one of the survivors of the Black Rock but had not aged due to the time whatjamacallit.  I woke up thinking I had worked it all out, then remembered Ben's back story. 

Still loving it, but like Rooks just wish I didn't have to wait a week for the next episode.

They probably just consult all the lost fan sites and pick out their best fan theory.

Daily Record today mentions Sayid's hair being much longer in the last scene on Sunday.  Perhaps this is an effect of time travel...  Can't say I noticed any change in his hairdo myself.

I didn't notice either, but I guess it might explain why Hurley's not lost any weight!

I was a bit dissapointed, mainly because Sky ran the 'return of a old character' trailers, if it wasnt someone who was dead, it was obviously Michael. I would have preferred them not to mention it, as this would have made the episode a great one.

The last two episodes have actually suceeded in confirming loads of stuff we had guessed anyway, but not not actually telling us anything new.

Last episode till the break next week, reckon it will be very good.

I was shocked to see Michael as I didn't see any trailers, quite a surprise and it's got me wondering.

I believe that the Producers wanted the network to end at 7 because that seemed a better end and screen 8 as first of the new mini season, the break is now only due too the writers strike don't think the series was planned to break now so not expecting a big reveal.

Hopefully thats a bluff from the studio though.

I was missing some java software that stopped the installation working properly, once I had that and installed the helper again it worked a treat.

Just watched the most recent episode, the more you watch lost the more puzzled you get. i wonder why ben and the guy from neighbours can't kill each other.

There was mention of rules (breaking them) and they obviously know each other so it points to some sort of game or competition between them with the island being the prize?

It is getting daft, the flash forwards are annoying and add nothing right now, obv. they will make sense eventually but by the time they catch up to the first ff's we'll have forgotten where we are and what happened because the story will jump forward months.
Also the timeline of the ff's are out of sync, the first showed Jack (an alcoholic) harassing Kate to meet him and banging on about returning to the island and the latest show them living together!
So we now have 4 stories, the past, the present, the near future and an who knows how far in the future?
It really is too overcomplicated.

ye the flash forwards seem to be going backwards.  on sayids 1st flash forward he was working for ben and it was not untill the most recent episode that you see how that happened.  same as Jack on the 1st one u see him being an alcholic then on the most recent episode you see him starting to pop the pills so it looks like is before he tries to commit suicide.  It looks as though they are going to keep doing the flashback in reverse untill they get to the point they got off the island.  the the present and flashes will be in the same time.....

24 I have never seen, but couldnt stand not being a part of it anymore, so I bought the series one boxset to begin the great catchup. Its a bit daunting I have to literally watch for 6 days to catch up but sure its worth it.

Series one is fine but goes a bit OTT after a while...like they tried too hard to keep it going and fill up the hours.

 For once, last night’s episode was quite narrow in its focus and most of what I picked up on pointed in the same direction. However, it did put a new perspective on the overall storytelling for me.

So Ben Linus was shot by Sayid as a kid?! This was an awesome and unexpected twist and as this event always happened in Ben’s past it means that Ben will undoubtedly survive this attack.

Sayid made an attempt on young Bens life because he was utterly oblivious to Faraday’s talk about “whatever happened, happened”. Sayid no doubt figured that killing young Ben would mean that he himself would never be sent around the world, assassinating people in 30 odd years or thereabouts. He also no doubt figured that he would be preventing a lot of DHARMA deaths, child kidnappings and saving many people from Ben’s intense manipulation and scheming.

And then, after it all finished. It dawned on me.

In a somewhat more complicated version of the chicken and the egg paradox, it struck me that Ben has gone through his whole life knowing that he was shot by Sayid and he would have known this 30 years in his future when he was caught in Rousseau’s net, facing an equally young looking Sayid. You could say that from Ben’s perspective, Sayid appears to have the same anti-aging phenomenon as Alpert, expect this of course comes with the illusions caused by mysterious time travelling islands where polar bears roam free wondering where they put their sunglasses.

It seems to me that Sayid’s actions will have a massive impact on a currently innocent young Ben Linus. A good kid who wants a better life for himself and cares about the underdog. A kid who is hated by his father who also blames him for his mother’s death. In terms of motivations, we have an interesting situation where Bens motivations in later life I am sure will be sculpted from Sayids assassination attempt when he was a kid, but Sayids assassination attempt only happened because of the way he was treated by Ben in Ben’s future. Who caused what? Who provoked who? You tell me. I’m certainly interested to find out where Sayid is off to now though – maybe Alpert will take him on as a Hostile in the jungle? I also ponder whether Ben was caught in that net on purpose once 815 had crashed. It’s pretty clear that he was expecting Flight 815 to crash in the way he reacted to it when he saw it and having Hawkin on the outside at the lamppost seals this for me. I believe he needed lists from Goodwin and Ethan to see how many of these people he knew from his past as these people would need to remain on the island until it travelled back in time. This is why he was so adamant about keeping everyone on the island, he knew they had a job to do in the past and he felt he needed to get them there.

I imagine that towards the end of Series 6, we will see a circular arc such as the one described above with most of the characters.

As an example, let’s look at Hurleys story. He was committed to Santa Rosa mental asylum after developing an eating disorder which he believed was the death of two people when a deck collapsed. In the asylum, he overheard Leonard repeating ‘the numbers’ over and over and ended up playing them on the lottery, which he of course won. This seemingly cursed Hurley as one traumatic experience followed another and he eventually felt compelled to locate the source of the numbers, discovering that they were overheard at a listening post in the South Pacific which is the reason he was on Oceanic 815.

Now that Hurley is back in the 70’s and heavily (pun intended) involved in DHARMA (albeit from a catering point of view at present), I wouldn’t mind betting that he will play an instrumental role in the implementation of those particular numbers being that he knows them better than anyone. Rumour has it that we will find out towards the end of this series what the ‘incident’ was at the Swan which required the protocol of those numbers to be input into the computer, but I reckon Hurley will have something to do with it. It would be nice if he was the one that scratched the numbers on the hatch door as well so others would remember them.

I don’t know about you guys, but if I was ever unsure that we wouldn’t get all our answers by the end of Season 6, I am getting more and more confident by the episode that the writers knew exactly what they were doing the whole time

Thats a great post, I thought Hurley might have been the one that scratched the numbers last night too. I think the whole reintroduction of the Dharma initative has breathed new life into the show and its as awesome as ever.

2 months ago I thought Lost was the greatest show ever and had never seen 24. I decided to buy the 24 first series box set to see what all the fuss was about.

Im now starting season 3 and hate to say it: Lost is awesome but 24 pisses on it from a great height. Jack Bauer is the ultimate super hero, I hope seasons 3-7 get even better.

It has been set in stone as 6 for at least 18 months now, a contract was agreed with abc to do 3 16 program series before season 4 started. This went slightly awry due to the writers strike last year.

Next weeks is the last in the series and is a doubleheader.

Then go to eztv (http://eztv.it/), again it's my preferred site but others may know of different sites. Click on the show you want to download, it should either open in uTorrent automatically (if you set it up correctly) or ask you what program you want to open it with, select uTorrent from the list in the pop up box.

Wait until the file says its finished, then watch it (I assume you have a media player, something like VLC?).

Every time a try to click on a video it sayd i dont have the software, and when i click to download the software is still takes forever to buffer and sits at 0% for hours!

Not with sky broadband by any chance are you? Everyone on there that has problems seems to be and i used to have that problem before i moved.
Streamed in HD tonight and it was as quick as usual.

Sky2 had the full of season 5 on last week, from Ep1 - Ep17

I sky+ed them all, raging it wasn't on Sky1 tho as thats in HD whereas Sky2 is SD!

I didn't get Sky+HD and a 50" Plasma TV to Stream programmes onlione in shite quality!

I'm hoping Sky1 show it the Sunday follow the States, meaning USA = 2nd, UK = 6th!

You can only go 7 days ahead with the sky planner tho, so wont know till sunday if this is the case.

You would think they would advertise one of the biggest shows ever made months in advance!

I did the ingenius thing of looking on the sky1 website, don't know where I pulled that brainwave from but low and behold look at the front page no less, i'll be extradited if I carry on at this rate...

or they could be trying to cut down on the time between USA and UK  views to eliminate illegal downloads of the show, as sometimes it takes the uploaders in USA two or three days to get it online.

I've been downloading for years and the longest I've had to wait for a popular programme has been about 12hrs.

They put heroes on for Saturdays now too, neither of which I like but it must be something to do with the fact that the weekend schedules are awful and people stay in more cos they is skint n that?

Nope eztv was about 2-3 days for a few Fringe episodes, and also for some TUF episodes.

Yeah whenever there is a delay with eztv, just go to piratebay and it's there in 2-3hours like sharplea said

Just go to PB and search for EZTV then select the EZTV user account and link them from there, for some reason tey dont always put them up on their own site.

Failing what Flushy said, just search for what you want and order by seeders.

Links with plenty of seeders will have comments and you are good to go.

They are usually quite quick to remove fakes which is good

Takes far too long to download HD rip (i get about 50-100Kb/s on average) and it still doesn't look as good as Sky HD

just think Lost would be spoilt a little downloading it.

Also just clocked an advert for Friday nights premier.

There is an hour lon special from 8p, then the 2 hour Premier from 9pm!

Just noticed a programme called 'Lost Reduced' on Sky Anytime - Reduced Shakespeare Company doing the first 5 seasons in 10 minutes. Have seen these guys do the complete works of Shakespeare years ago and they were excellent, so will give that a watch in a bit.
