Julian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) Thew (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) and Mark (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=264) Herron (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=264) are both OUT.

Julian had already been knocked down to just 3,500 by Mark Friedman, previously. All three got their money in on the turn of an 8-5-A-4-x board with Julian holding A-K, Herron holding 8-8 and Friedman with nut-making 7-6. Maria has gone off to see if she can find more details on a pretty shocking early exit.

Here's the table just as they were starting, Friedman is in the white with his back to us whilst Herron is in Seat 8 in between Dan Owston and Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) Cox (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171).

Just to confirm this, Julian had bet the flop and Mark Herron had set him but this meant Friedman was able to come into the pot as well and catch his straight on the turn which was where the rest of the money went in.

Is the luckbox STILL in ??   ;D

Joe Koumi flopped top set. KP had Ten high. You don't need to guess what happened next...

Ok it wasn't that bad, the board read Aspades Jh 9h and Joe had Ahrt Ac, with KP holding Th 8h and all the chips went in, the turn was the 2h meaning luckbox Gareth had to avoid another heart to scoop a huge pot, which he duly did when the river was the 5c knocking Joe out.

He ruuuuuuuuuuuunsssssssssss goooooooooooooooooooooooood.

London Winner, Blackpool Finalist and generally Canadian, Leo Kam is OUT. His last 6k going in with Queens but going out to Martyn (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=270) Cavanagh (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=270)'s Kings.

Albert Sapiano is missing hitting the backdoor draws on the turn that he calls for on the flop and is down to only around 4k.

Nik (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) Persaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) is cursing his luck having defended from the blinds with 2c 5h, flopping a straight on a 6d 4d 3c board against Hurol Bekir and getting his whole stack in against the drawtastic Ad 5d, only for him to add two pair along with his straight, resulting in a 4-6-3-5-2 board and a chop chop.

;kc;

King Poker just paid off 2k on the river to Ben (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=47) Vinson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=47) on a Qd 5s Ad 7h 6s board.

Jason DeFreitas bets 800 on a Qd 8d Tc board, Steve Jelinek c/raises to 2,100. DeFreitas makes it 11,000 and it's all too much for Jelinek who mucks showing the Ts.

A few hands earlier however Jelinek took a fare amount of Chris Bruce's chips. Bruce limped UTG with Aces as did Jelinek and a few others, the flop came 7-3-2. One guy bet 500, Bruce called, as did Jelinek, the turn was a King. First player checked, Bruce bet 1200, Jelinek made it 2,500 and Bruce was the only caller, but both checked the 8c river which brought a possible flush. Jelinek showed a set of Threes.

An outbreak of Tobey Maguire-itis on Table 1, as many of the players don't really look like they want a photo taken. One of these, Ronald Seymour, in seat 3, is now OUT. His nickname is 'Shaft' but I think he looks more like Frost from the classic film 'From Dusk Till Dawn'.

"Come on, Sex Machine!"

Finally, here's Andrew Feldman folding to Brian Johnson's 1.5k bet on a 6s Kc Td board.

Paul Bracken is down to just 4k after tangling with (1) Anna Kournikova and (2) Phil Curtis, the latter possibly being the less desirable tangles of the two. It was a relatively straight forward hand in the end, the Blackpool GUKPT winner calling opponent Curtis' all-in on the Turn of a 2c Kh 8d Jd board. Bracken had Aspades Ks, but found himself in all sorts of trouble to Curtis' 2d 2c. An academic 7h hit the River leaving Curtis to rake in a timely double up.

----------

Michael Bale is down to shrapnel, and by now, quite possibly out. He was virtually all-in against neighbour Mark Gray with Tens v Kings on a 6-9-9 Flop. The Ace Turn and Three River made no difference giving Gray the pot.

Predicted to be half way up the motorway now after being knocked down to the felt, Michael Bale is now back up to the dizzy, nose-bleeding heights of 7k after a Jacks v Tens encounter versus Jeff Kimber. A non-Ten board leaves Jeff with a face like a smacked bottom, but a stack of around 15k, so no need to panic.

----------

One table down, Raj Modha has taken a big hit courtesy of neighbour Edward Cahill whose Pocket Kings had Raj's Queens dominated. "I feel better now," admits Edward. Raj didn't seem too eager to congratulate him though and is now to 7k.

Dan Owston just doubled up through Shane Eastland, he was hold  9d 9h on a board like

 5c 3h 3d

Dan bet 1,200, Shane made it 3k, Dan made it 6k and Shane went all in for a further 7k.    This put Dan in the tank, but did call to an immediate "good call" from Eastland.  Shane turned over  5c 6c..

Owston's 9's stood and he doubled up to 24,000.

Hit Squad update:

Praz made a raise with  Kc Kh and was just called by Ian Grier.  The flop is an unmenacing

9h 6c 3d  Grier check raised an 800 bet by Praz to the tune of 2k, Praz called.

Turn  Ts  Which resulted in an allin push for 8k from Grier.  Praz with 18k still left behind does make a great pass, presserving his stack and is rewarded with Grier showing him  Td Tc for the turned set.  I don't know how many times Praz has ran into sets or over sets and still remains in the tournaments lately.  He is more likely to go out with 8 2 though.

On the Karlos M front, he is doing fine on 13,000.

Gotta love the old eye slugs. You probably can't tell from a static picture, but I bet the Mahrenholz eyebrows were twitching like a one legged ferret.

Funnilly, I saw an Alberto Sapiano limp UTG, followed by two more, then Karlos (I think that should catch on) made it 600 from the small blind, obviously as a pot builder which was duly called by all other players putting 3k into the pot. The K-J-T-T-2 was checked all the way down and Albert's Jh 6h was good. (No snickering at the back - it was soooted).

Not sure if this got to Karlos, but he looked to be gurning non-stop for the next five minutes.

Earlier today Rumit Somaiya was trying to convince Davijay Sadarangani (a big name if ever I saw it) that the tickets people were getting, (that Jon Raab uses to do the chip counts), were actually part of a tombola raffle to win a big prize. Apparently he was totally convinced.

He left 'the ticket' behind though when he was busted sadly, Rumit raised, Davijay called in the small blind and Jerome Bradpiece called in the big with 6-4o. The flop came 7-5-3 rainbow, Rumit moved in, Davijay made it 4k and Jerome called, and then called Davijay's all-in on the brick turn. Davijay's Aces had been slowplayed at the wrong time and Jerome won a healthy side pot. But Rumit survived when the river brought a third heart to add to the two in his hand for the 10k main pot.

As you can see, Warren Wooldridge is now in the chair.

Richard Ashby has doubled through Kevin O'Leary.

Ian Cox lost a small chunk flat-calling all the way with Q-J on a Q-Q-7-4-3 board against the big blind who had flopped the house with Q-7.

Sid Harris bets out 2,500 on a 9h Jc 4h board, but Liam Flood (I believe he's "Liam Flood" on blonde) made it 7k to elicit a quick fold from the diet book author.

Scott (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=394) O'Reilly (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=394) raised under the gun and his neighbour Willie (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=450) Tann (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=450) appeared to like his hand enough to put in a reraise of 2,000.  O'Reilly prefered his and went all in for around 9,000.  Willie in his characterstic, shoulders hunched, alseep look dwelled a while so O'Reilly took the chance to convince Willie he had Aces by reminding that he had raised UTG.

By accident I just happened to glance upon Willie's cards as he showed himself the Jacks again before passing...He is class Mr Tann.

------------

Stephen Holden is OUT.

A-7 v A-Q

Luke Trotman the assassin.

Guy Steel is OUT
Dave Clark is OUT

Kevin O'Leary is OUT - After going down to 7.5k courtesty of a set over set from Richard Ashby, he limped with AK in a 5 way pot.  On a raggety flop the tight guy at the made it 900 with about 3.5k in the pot.  Kevin didn't buy it and went all in for about 7.5k, unfortunately as it turns out Paul Smallwood had also limped with a pair of Jacks and made the call.  Nevermind Kevin, you have nearly a whole year now of being a champion  ;)

Table 1, which I had previously referred to as a table of Tobey Maguire-ites, all scared of having their photos taken, has taken on a new dynamic thanks to one of the chip leaders Mark Friedman. Mark limps from the small blind and the big blind checks, the board comes 2c 9h Kd and they both check, 9c on the turn, Mark checks, the big blind bets 500 into the 600 pot. Mark makes it 10k. The big blind decides to fold.

According to Dan Owston, he's being doing this a lot and the players on this table have turned into Vladimir and Estragon and are waiting.

Albert Sapiano is OUT, with AA vs KQ.

Chris Bruce has trebled up, hitting a straight flush with 3c 5c against Dave Clarke. He then eliminated Clarke with 4-4 vs Q-Q on a 9-8-4 board.

Finally, this is Norman Gold. Errr, I'm not sure what else to add.

Chris Bruce is down a large amount of chips fter having Ac 7s on a 6c 7c 9c Aspades board but running into Qc Jc for a 32k pot. He's since gone OUT.

Jeff Kimber is OUT. Brian Johnson was on ubertilt apparently and came out betting 3.5k into a 2.5k pot on a T-3-2 two club flop. Jeff made it 10k with Aspades Ts with 17k back and Brian decided to set him all-in with Ac Jc and caught a club.

Van Hoang just fired three bullets at a 9c 9h Jh Kc 7c board against Richard Gryko, the latter calling the 2,500 flop and 4,800 turn bets, but sighing and giving up on the 7k river.

Paul 'Muzza' Murrell -- 14k

Jerome Bradpiece, better than Vicky Coren at Sudoku it would seem.

It may be cool and fresh up here in the press room, but down in the cardroom I'm sweating like a monkey's bum on a treadmill. One man who will be hot at the moment is Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195) Kimber (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195), but that's due to his recent encounters with Brian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=489) Johnson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=489) as opposed to the temperature of the room. Two hands produced the demise of Jaffacake, the first one actually resulting in momentary triumph as his 3,500 River bet on a 6c 4d 9d Jh Kc board was called by Brian. Jeff showed Pocket Jacks, leaving Brian to muck with a mixed look of disgruntlement and severe frustration.

It's difficult to tell if their previous confrontation played a part in the next hand, but soon after, they were locking horns again, all the chips flying in on a 4h Tc 7c Flop. Brian bet 3,000, Jeff made it 10k and Brian announced all-in. Jeff called quicker than a cheetah on a bullet train and showed Aspades Ts, confident that it was in front. And he was right to feel good about his hand, as Brian was forced to flip an inferior, but highly dangerous Ac Jc.

The Turn was a cruel blow for Jeff, however, the dealer flicking out a hand-ending 2c. An academic Qd River and it was all done and dusted, the only act left to complete being the counting of stacks. Moments later, Jeff was informed that he was out-chipped, leaving the World Heads Up Champion to rise from his seat, his chest beating short and fast as he tried to compose himself after losing such a vast pot and trundle off down the other end of the cardroom.

Chris Bruce is OUT

The serial satalite qualifier has looked frustrated most of the day and things haven't appeared to go his way.  Faced with a limper UTG, Chris in the cut off pushed all in for 4,500.  Jean Luc-Belin asked how much, then called quite quickly so the limper passed  On their backs:

Chris Bruce   Qs Qh
Jean Luc   Kc Tc

First card out was a KING to produce a sigh from Chris and a "see you later."  Unlucky Chris.

Dave Callaghan is OUT pushing with Ahrt Ks on a Js 6s 8d board vs Norman Rad's Kh Jd.

Michael Muldoon has just won an uberpot...

;bp;

He held A-A vs Jerome Bradpiece's K-K and a short-stacks Q-J and it held on to put him over 30k.

The Camel is going along nicely raises to 2k preflop and gets one caller in Matt Novak.

Both check the Ac 4s 9c flop before Novak check/raises Camel's bet of 2,500 to 6,000. Camel quickly calls.

They both check the 7s river and Novak shows 7c 6c which is good.

Praz is OUT, as is Vince Madan and Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) Cox (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=171) just lost a huge pot with Ace Queen against Hoss Parkhizar's Jacks on an A-J-x-x-x board and is now down to just 15k.

---------

Double up for Kevin Jenkins!... although it was called reluctantly Keith (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=229) Hawkins (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=229).

"Do you want a call," asks Keith chuckling.

"Yes!" answers Kevin abruptly.

"I do," adds Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=91) Barnes (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=91).

"Will you say nice hand, shake my hand and so on if I beat you?" asks Keith nervously.

"Of course I will," replies Kevin.

Rather red-faced, Keith makes the call (for what was virtually shrapnel is truth) and shows 4h 3h.

"I've changed my mind," declares Kevin showing a dominating pair of cowboys.

He needn't have worried though, as the board came 9s Ts Jh 7d Th, Keith's call for a split pot on the River failing to emerge.

Rumit (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=389) Somaiya (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=389) has just doubled up through Brian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=489) Johnson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=489), I got there will all Rumit's chippy in the middle on a board like:

 7s 5s 3s   Kc  3c

Rumit had  Ad Kh and Brian had  Th Td.  Rumit now up to 43,000 and Brian is only wounded.

---------------------------------------------

Our own Kingpoker, Gareth Ower showed us all that he aint just a luckbox who sucks out on people, he can actually play poker guys and girls.  With about 10k (so raise and a call preflop) in the pot and this flop:

 Qh Jh 7c

Patrick McCloskey bets 6,000.  Gareth goes deep into that tank that everyone talks about and I wait, he thinks, he changes colour, he thinks some more, then he passes  Ac Qd face up.  "Oooooo" says a couple of table mates and Patrick shook his head ruing Gareth's decision to pass, so he turns over a set of 7's and tells KP "good good pass!"   A big satisfying exhale of breath from Gareth who still has 21,000 chips.   ;woohoo;

------------------------------------

Ian Cox is OUT - apparantly he had KK v AQ with an A on the flop.  Unlucky Ian, great run this year though.

Well bokked Claw and Technolog. I'm afraid KingPoker is OUT. Nik Persaud roughly filled in the story for me, he said there was a raise to 2,600, KP made it 8,600 with around 10k back before Van Hoang moved all-in behind him, the initial raiser passed, and Gareth felt he was committed and called with his Ace King only to run into Kings behind him and missed his Ace. Very unfortunate circumstances after a great days play, and Nik added Gareth played well and seemed like a good guy.

Unlucky sir.

Set in on a Td 2h 3h 8c 2d board by Brian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=489) Johnson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=489), Warren called for the last few thousand chips with Qc Tc only for Brian to show 8h 8d for the turned set and rivered house.

Word on the poker grapevine is that Ian Grier is OUT. Jacks v Queens.

Dave Barnes just doubled through former chip leader Mark Friedman who looks to have lost at least half of his former 64k stack.

The board read:

Qs Tc Qh

and Barnes was all-in with Jc Jd against Ks Js, a couple of non-descript sixes later and he doubled through to what looks to be around 40k.

  ***** MONSTER POT ALERT ******

Glancing upon a floplike

 Ac Td 9c

Van Hoang bets 4,300.  Richard Gryko decides to raise it upto 12,300.   Van took a little while to decide (and maybe this is when Gryko picked up a little weakness in Van) but he makes it another 20,400, so Gyrko moved all in for only another 13,275 extra to Van.  Now Van is shaking his head and really is not glorious about putting in the extra strongly believing he is behind.  Gyrko played it just right to make Van believe that his  Aspades Qd had shrunk into non pot winning insignificance!

But with so much money in the pot, he had to make the call, so he did with only 10k left behind.  On their backs:

Van  Aspades Qd
Gyrko   7c 8c  for a humoungous draw.

Turn   9d
River   Ts

and Gyrko missed the lot!  That must put Van Hoang on around 95,000!!!

Dan Owston has knocked out Norman Rad with 2-2 vs erm...3-4 on a Q-4-2 board. (But not before Dan introduced himself to Norman as 'Roger' for absolutely no reason whatsoever). Dan then also knocked out Richard De Freitas with K-8 against Q-8.

Brian Johnson has just lost two consecutive big pots, first to Edward Cahill with K-T vs A-J on a J-J-7-Q-A board. "Why not a Nine?" cried Brian.

Then shortly after, he doubled up Rumit to nearly 80k with K-J vs A-9 on a K-6-9-9-4 board after all the money went in on the turn..

Grantham & Ladrokes Steve Mitchell has struggled all day to get over his starting stack.  Having Aces & Kings busted ealier in the day, anyway he plodded on and recently reached the heady heights of 26,000.  I believe in deciding to go for it in the last half hour instead of sitting still he clashed with Ashely Hayles.

Steve limped on the button and Hayles just checked the BB.  They saw a flop of

 9h Th Jd

Ashley bet 2/3rds of the pot and Steve pushed all in, just bad timing as Hayles was going nowhere with his J10 and Steve only had K10.  No help for Steve Mithcell and he was out in 41st place.

Paul 'Muzza' Murrell is OUT, A-J no good against Ashley (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=39) Hayles (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=39)' Queens.

Play is almost at an end, Maria and Smoopy are just getting the last few hands...

------------

Ali Sarkeshik was blessed with a double up in the dying seconds. He managed to find (1) Aces and (2) cheeky Welshman Dan owston nicking the blinds at just the right time.

It wasn't a big all-in raise, but enough nonetheless, but Dan fancied a gamble and called with K-7 in the hope that he had two live cards.

... he didn't like what a saw.

A King on the Flop gave Dan a glimmer of hope, but it wasn't to be and Ali earned himself a timely last minute double through.

Last hand of the night and time for shortie Thomas Dunwoodie  for a make or break moment.  He shoved with K8 but ran into running hot Hayles's Aces.  Dunwoodie lost the nowhere near race and went out.

It looked like - although this might need confirming - that Van Huang was tonights chip leader with 130,00.  So that means a glorious seat in next years £3k Grand Final thanks to Blue Sqaure.
