Title: DTD Monthly £300 Event - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 02, 2008, 06:49:54 PM
:hello: and welcome to the monthly DTD event, the second one, but the first £300-er. Also, it's my first at seeing what an exquisite place DTD is. Lots of people are here already, and there's already 87 runners confirmed, a player list will hopefully turn up after we start. The way this is working out the Dortmund EPT event should be finishing just as we are starting...hopefully.

If there's anyone you'd like us to particularly follow, let us know over on the interactive thread: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=30973.0

Chilli takes an early pot from Ben Vinson after betting 400 on the river of a 6c Ks Td Jh 6s board. Elsewhere Compo has bluffed off 2/3's of his stack including a 3k bet on the river of a Kh Kc Qh Js 3h board. His opponent James Egarrr, (sounds like a pirate), making a good call with Ad Qd as Compo could only say, "I'm playing the board mate," as he flipped over the 4s 5s. Those people who picked him ahead of Tikay should be worried at the moment.

Chip Colours:

Yellow -- 25
Black -- 100
Red -- 500
Green -- 1000

Kev meanwhile has gone on a norkage hunt, the troubles with the camera disappeared after it was revealed he needed to to turn the 'on' switch.

A multi-way pot between Compo, UpTheMariners, Jim Moult, and James 'the Pirate' Egarrr.

9h 2c 4d

Compo and UTM check, Jim bets 300, Egarrrr calls, as does Compo. UTM passes.

9s

A cautious check by all.

4s

Again all check, Egarrrrr shows 6c 4h which is good.

Danielle Allen bets 2,500 on the river of a Td Aspades Ks 9d 5d board.

She gets a call from Kevin Lund who calls with Ahrt 9h. Allen's backdoor nutflush Ad Qd scoops.

Ironside has busted someone holding a set of 8's against 2-3 on a T-8-5-2 board apparently.

Ariston has knocked out I think Mario Andreou holding Th 9h against Kings, all the money on a Q-J-7 flop but the former catching an 8 on the turn.

Pete Linton is feeling dirty, no not like that, he caught runner runner straight with his J-7 to win a decent pot against top pair. "Say it was against top set, it sounds worse then!"

Ok, now that the EPT Dortmund has finished, I've commandeered the blonde clock for the DTD Comp.

12 places are being paid, with 1st looking to be just over £13.5k, having dropped the buy-in to £300 seems to have done the trick as the field has more than doubled from last month.

Claw has just lost a big chunk of her stack with Aces, the flop came out K-K-Q and she ran into Richard Berridge's Quad Kings. Fortunately she still has 5,700 which is more than enough at the moment.

Ariston is out, pushing with Ks 7s on a J-8-4 two spade flop but running into Bo Le Cong's J-8.

Ironside has 19,000 despite bluffing off 8,000 having re-raised a 600 bet to 1,800 before firing two 2,400 bullets at a Q-x-x-x board but passing when his opponent moved all-in on the turn.

Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1143) Carter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1143) aka' Dave Shoelace, was not liking his table move a short while ago expressing it couldn't get much harder than being stuck with Lawrence (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=243) Gosney (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=243), Chris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) Bruce (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65), Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) Colclough (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95), Tracey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=444) Dell (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=444) and Craig Owen around him. He's picked up a couple of decent pots on raggy flops and is moving nicely upwards.

Lord Michael of West Wernickestershire, just added to impressive wall of chips. Cold calling the 700 bet on a 7h 4c 7d pot, before the turn 9c went with a check check, on the river Qs the Mickster threw out three of the chunky lime-green chips as a 3k bet. Bryan Anglim shrugged his head a little, as thought he'd caught the river. Curiousity proved the better of him and he dropped in the chips almost in the manner of a man throwing a coin into a well. No wish granted though, Wernick showing the 8-7 to take the pot.

Chipleader at the moment looks to be the leg-end himself, Mickey Wernick. He's got almost 45,000 by my guestimation.

Steve 'CardShark' Read is OUT. J-T vs A-T on an T-9-4 board.

Also gone is ChunkyMick, I missed the hand but I think he had A-Q on a Q-x-x board, but I think Chris Bruce must have had a set as he was the one who knocked him out.

Claw is OUT. She's sitting here, but eating something distinctly unhealthy, some sort of French Toast/Bacon mixture...

Compo is walking on air after a hefty pot versus UTM.

Compo button raised, and Mariners re-raised from the small blind, which Compo called.

Flop:

6c 6s 3d

Mariners led out, Compo called,

2d

Check check.

Qh

Now Daniel leads out for 5k on the river, Compo waits for ages before calling with 4c 3c. Daniel mucks what's later revealed (after a requested to see the cards from one of the other players) as A-K. Compo is chuffed!

Ironside has lost a load of chips after having his Kings cracked by K-J.

The flop of A-A-x was checked, Ironside called a 3k bet on the Q turn and then a 5k bet on the Queen river.

Table 25 is thanking Ironside, as they've (perhaps mistakenly) all been bought drinks by him!

Tighty's rock image has been shattered

Matt Tyler, in the midst of handing me out a long abusive string of verbal diahorrea about me having a Korma whilst we went for a curry in Baden, raises to 600 from UTG, passed around to Tighty who makes it 2,600. Quintuple aces. Minimum. I think, Matt obviously agrees and passes his Ace King face up fairly quickly. Tighty flips over Ace King too! How can he re-raise with that filth??!? Then next hand Tighty open-raises and takes Matt's blind as well. I'm pretty sure he better be careful otherwise he'll get a nosebleed...

Ironside is out, a load of players limped in the pot before the small blind raised to 2,000. Iron pushed for around 5,000 more as the limpers folded and the small blind said, "Yeah, I'll call..."

"Oh, I don't like that," said Iron, with worryage in his voice flipping over pocket Eights, whilst the small blind flipped over pocket Queens.

The board brought the best non-setting board he could see though, as it came out Td 9s 7c only for proverbial bricks on the 7s turn and the 4h river.

Big hand alert  .... (Jeremy wasnt involved then !! ... still too soon ??)

Annnnnnywayyyyyyy

Des (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) Jonas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) raises it up to 2k (blinds 150/300)

Nick (Redbull) calls ...

flop

 3c 9d 5d

Des instantly shoves all in for 32k

Nick dwells ... stands up, sits back down ... stands up again ... sits back down again ... I did toy with the idea of moving his chair away if he did it again but nooooo ... he calls for his remaining 20k

On their backs and Des tables  Kd Kc

Nick grimaces and says that he hoped des might be flushing as he flip his  Js Jc

turn  6h

River  4s

And we lose blondeite Redbull ...

Desmond now on over 50k

Tikay couldnt resist telling me how a hand earlier he stole Des's BB with filth ... i was impressed until some one else at the table informed me that Des was actually out the back having a smoke at the time LOL....

Dave Colclough is OUT, as decribed to me by Pete Linton.

Pete limped utg with 6c 4c, Dave limped behind, and the big blind checked.

Jc Js 3c

Checked around.

Qs

The big blind bets 1,800. Pete calls and Dave calls.

7s

Now the big blind checks, Pete checks and Dave bets 3,500. The big blind moves in, Pete folds, and Dave calls with Aces, only to find the big blind has made the backdoor nut-flush with Aspades 8s.

Thoughts on this hand anyone?

Monkeyboy Matt is flummoxing Midlander Andy Johnson, pushing against his a raise once to elicit a fold, then shortly afterwards, Johnson limps and so does Matt and see a 4-way flop with the blinds. The board comes out K-9-4 and Johnson bets out 2,500 into a 2,000 pot or so, Matt quickly shoves again, the blinds run for cover, Johnson has a rueful glance on his face, turns over the Kd and folds.

Rooks promised he'd be squeezing, and after Tikay and the button limp, Rookie makes it 2,700 from the small blind, Des Jonas passes in the big, Tikay thinks and then passes and the button folds soon after.

So as I'm walking past Shaf's table, whilst he's f-ing and blinding at nothing in particular using I think new swearwords that I didn't think existed, I bump into to Barry Carter being moved to table B5.

"Surely Barry, you want table C4, it's meant to be pretty explosive action-wise..."

"Eh? Oh errr....yes..."

And my joke falls flatter than the APAT Payout Structure...

Tighty has knocked out Billy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=49) Ngo (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=49) and another short-stack who shoved from the small blind, Tighty calling from the big.

Red OUT
Compo OUT

Flopps is off to get the details.

Red shoved J-T over the top of M3boy raise, M3boy eventually calling with A-J. Compo no news I'm afraid.

Rookie just lost most of his stack with Jacks against Ace King. "Obv" he added.

He was all in with 9-3 against A-6 and 6-4 but spiked a 3 and now has 1,950...Short-stack Ninja time?

Also a SSN, is UpTheMariners who has been short basically the last two hours.

Compo pushed over the top of a 5k bet for 18k on a J-T-8 only for the OR to find a call with Q-J.

Daniel "UpTheMariners" Rudd is OUT, Ad Jc into the big blind's Ac Kh. A more charitable than usual Shaf telling him he'd played very well.

Meanwhile, Marcus Bebb-Jones looks to be the chip leader with about 70k.

Tom 'Numpty Dumpty' Rutter (Younger brother of Stu) is still hanging on in there, but lost a 16k pot when his K-Q failed to knock out the A-J which we think belonged to Andrew Woods.

Title: Re: DTD Monthly £300 Event - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 03, 2008, 02:23:42 AM
Pete Linton pushes all in from mid-position, it's passed around to Reyaaz Mulla in big blind, who starts contemplating.

"Pass, I'm ahead," says Pete.

"I need chips though," replies Reyaaz, as he counts out a call. "I've actually got a worse hand than last time..." referring to a previous occasion that we had obviously missed, and he turns over Ad Jd, ahead of Pete's Kd 8c.

Board:

5c Kc 2h 3d Jc

Pete scoops up the chips, "I wanted the call, I can't win a coinflip so a 40-60..." using that perverse gambling logic that poker players occasionally have when they've been hit by the animal called variance.

Two more levels to go through before we finish play.

Philip Ashton and James Eggar just played a huge almost 60k preflop pot. "But what were the hands?" I here you cry, "...for something this big, surely it's Aces vs Kings or A-K vs Q-Q or some such ilk..."

No actually, Phillip button raised to 3,600. Eggar moved in for about 23,000 more from the small blind. Phillip called after about 30 seconds, with...with...with...pocket Fours. Eggar showed...Oh I can't add anymore dots to this, he had Jh 6h... The Jack hit and Eggar has a huge stack.

Next table, Pete Linton doubles through MalcM with Kc Qc vs Ahrt Jd on a 6c 3d 3h 2c Kh board, missed that action as I was dashing off to see Matt Tyler bust Paul Hambleton with Aspades Kd against Ahrt 9c then threaten to go all 'Bruce Lee' on the dealer jokingly, when the dealer wasn't sure if Matt had Paul covered. Either way, I think there's more chance of Matt going 'Bruce Forsyth' than 'Lee', the Spherical Wonder just needs his own custom pose now.

Monkey Matt 33k

tikay Bowl of rice
PeteL 30k
Dingdell 23k
MissC 25k
Regards M 13k
Tighty 29.5k

Tighty has lost about half his stack calling Dan Girdlestone's all-in with 8s 8c and facing the Ahrt Kh, he suffered a Barry Greenstein special...

Tighty is out, another lost race, this time he holds the Ac Kh against 7d 7s but misses.

Bizarre pot after a load of limpers, Philip Ashton makes a big raise only to find John Perrin reshoving behind him with 9h 6h, Ashton finds a call with A-2.

Board comes: 3-4-5-9-7!

Ashton Out, Perrin uberstacked in a truly "crazy" hand.

Possibly the most oddest pot all night...

Limped pot between Pete Linton and this guy in the small blind and big blind

Pete flat-calls a 5k bet on a Jd Jh 7c board before (I think, the oddness of the hand has made me forget the action perfectly but I'm sure Pete will fill it in later), check/raising a 10k bet to 50k more on the 8c turn. The big blind FLAT-CALLS with about 2k left. The river is the 5d, Pete sets him in and the guy starts to dwell getting 60-1. Pete looks at him, then gives me the most bemused look I've ever seen in my life. The big blind passes...

Reyaaz Mulla gets it all-in with errr, the old 8c 2h...called by his opponent with Ks Kd, big pot as I'm guessing Reyaaz wanted a big stack or no stack for tomorrow.

Board:

Tc 8s 2s

"Oh ******* hell!" is the cry from Mr Kings.

2c

"***** sake!"

Kc

"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!" Agony to ecstasy in the turn of a card, Mulla meanwhile laughs about it as he makes his exit...
