Title: Pokerstars.com EPT Copenhagen Day 2 - Interactive
Post by: danafish on February 21, 2008, 12:13:30 PM
Good morning once again from the Comfort Hotel Esplanaden, where I am enjoying my now customary breakfast vitamin pill. A new player list/chip count type document has arrived from Pokerstars overnight, but I understand that it still has Marc (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) Goodwin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) on it, and also they're claiming they can't find Steve Frezer on it even though he's quite obviously right at the bottom; nevertheless, I am posting it, and you will enjoy it, or I will set Jen on you. Corrected version hopefully available by the time we make it to the casino.

Play starts at 2pm Danish (1pm UK time, and it's suddenly occurred to me I haven't seen a single Danish pastry all week; am outraged by this). See you then!

Thank you thank you for the well-meant pastry, I'm sure if it were real I would be a happier, less hungrier updater.

As it is, we've just arrived at the casino and as might be expected, the hallway is full of poker players, milling. Particularly interesting early doors will be the fate of Arnaud Mattern, currently an absolute microstack on about 7k - he's praying the seat draw puts him on the button. Also interesting should be the Rollercoaster Rutter - he's about average with 22k or so, but can't seem to help getting it all in on a race just when we're least expecting it, so we'll be keeping a close eye on him. Incidentally, he's terribly sorry about the lack of scarf these past few days. A scarf has been found, and photos have been posed for. To follow shortly...

Mr Kremser is on the mic - he tells us that today we'll be playing eight levels or down to 40, whichever comes first. Tomorrow we'll be playing down to final table. Juuuuust about to start. Good luck everyone! My picks/favourite players of the day are Trond Eidsvig, Micke Norinder and Steve Frezer.

The hallway is full of expectant Day Two-ers waiting to take their newly redrawn seats and get playing once again.  The rested Day 1A players will battle the hardy Day 1Bs and we'll probably know who makes money from the EPT Copehagen and who doesn't today.

We were delighted that the tournament is now housed in one really large conference/ballroom type area - it's a very good layout and literally next door to the press room.  All in all the thing's gone pretty smoothly, starting on time and running without a hitch.  Well done pokerstars, Casino Copenhagen and everyone involved.  (Can we get some more tea now?)

They are starting play 9-handed, but when one player goes from each table they will stay at 8-handed through the day.  OK shuffling up has begun.

BREAKING NEWS

The button is at seat 9; Arnaud Mattern is at seat 8. Good luck, Arnaud!

Early action includes:

Multiple simultaneous instances of stacks under 15k moving in, uncalled.

One instance of Arnaud Mattern somehow having doubled up before we even got into the room today (Dana fills in the tantalising details - QQ vs AQ).

One bust-out of Jerzy Hajdamowicz who moved in with Ahrt Ts on the cutoff but was instacalled by the big blind who woke up with Kd Kc.
There was a little bit of breath-holding despite the fact that the first card out was the Kh because the turn saw the board reading Kh 3h 5s Qh providing a possible flush/straight for the all-in player, but the blank 4d on the river sent him to the rail.

Sorry about that, the server exploded.

Anyway, the action has been FAST and it has been FURIOUS thus far, as though everyone's hotel requires that they check out by 3pm or pay for an extra day.

Georgios Pittas of Greece is gone, somehow getting it in with Q-9 offsuit against the pocket Tens of Leroy Soesman. Soesman's vocal appeals to God that all the Queens stay firmly buried in the deck paid off.

Nicolas Levi and his special friend Micke Norinder are sharing a table again today, although possibly not for long. I have obviously bokked Mr Norinder by picking him, as he's down to just 8k, his Jd Qd flush draw failing to come through for him against Christina Orth's Aspades 2s on an Ad 2h 3d 5s Js board, all in on the flop.

Pretty ladies still in include Sidsel Helle Boesen (in shades) and Pernille Ravn. Oh no, hang on, just as I'm scribbling down that she's still in, Pernille shoves with Ahrt Jd and gets herself called by the Kd Kc of Bengt Sonnert. An incredibly decisive Ks 4h Kh 6h Tc board later, and she hits the rail, giggling.

Also, please witness Hat Of The Day/ Outfit Of The Day/ Blue Guy Of The Day multiple blonde award winner Peter Bregnhoj. We can only imagine he lost some sort of bet. Says Jen - "I'm never going to make any kind of clothing-based prop bet." But I can feed her enough beer to wear anything, I reckon... Hang on, Blue Man is in the press room. He must be out. That is a great loss to the tournament.

We are down one Nutter.

Stuart Rutter has lost another race.  J-J vs A-K was the real knocker-backer and then someone gave his A-9 a spin with Q-T.  “I just can’t win a race.  This year,” he says, with only the minimum amount of self-pity.  It does look like when the cards are on their backs, Stuart tends to have one foot out of the tournament area, to be fair – seen this happen to him at least once or twice… Still, he’s already looking forward to next weekend at the Broadway.

The tournament's range of headwear is significantly less cool with the knockout of Nicolas Levi.

I caught this hand from where Levi moved all in from the small blind over the preflop raise of cutoff Lasse Jeppesen (pictured combining Nicolas' chips with his own).  Jeppesen was thinking about it, then came down on the side of 'OK then' and called the all-in with Ac Qc, which probably wasn't what Nicolas had in mind when he shoved Kc Jc.  A Queen on the flop sealed his fate, and he calmly exited with a, "Nice hand," presumably to be pursued vigorously by the cameramen who seem to permanently film the gregarious young player.

Saw a pretty big pot between Mathias Andersen (pictured) and Jonas Klausen just now...

The board was an interesting 4c Jc 7c Ac when Klausen checked, Andersen bet areound 5k and was called, eventually.
River:  Jd  curiouser and curiouser...  Now check to Andersen once again, and he bet 9k.  A very long think later, complete with self-countdown etc. etc. (the decision was pretty serious for shorter-stacked Klausen).  Eventually he called but was shown the rather board-relevant Kc Jh...

LEADERWATCH

The start-of-day big stacks are here pictured:

1) Theo Jorgensen - resigned once again to having a really big stack

2) Ola Brandborn (although news has filtered in that he's actually lost about half his stack thus far...) He's here pictured telling me, "You didn't remember my name yesterday."  Oops.

Ta-da - Mr. Boatman and neighbour Peter Hedlund, who seems to be relatively chilled out this morning.  Barny's stack:  c. 30k

All of our picks are struggling somewhat, or looking a bit sad not to be chip leaders...  Most recent near-casualty (down under 10k) is Ramzi who got it in with Aces preflop (again - see his Dortmund exit) vs. Rolf Slotboom's Queens.  Out popped the Queen to give Rolf a good stack for the first time this tournament and near felt his opponent, who will probably inwardly wince whenever he gets it all in with Aces, good though that's meant to be to do.

Yes indeed, it seems that as soon as we pick them, they suddenly bust out, or become very depressed. Ramzi down to 8k. Micke Norinder out. Stuart Rutter out. Steve Frezer - depressed (see below). Can't even find Trond Eidsvig. Go Christian Grundtvig!

Istvan Szikrai has doubled up with a flush courtesy of Kresten Nielsen. He is pleased.

Less pleased is Soren Jensen, who turned a straight holding Q-T on a K-9-3-J-T board and got himself called by Anders Hansen, who of course split with him at the end. Jensen was furious, although I didn't see the pre-river betting so it's hard to say if it was a slow-play gone wrong or foolish calling from Hansen that did it. He fumes, currently.

Also one of our two remaining Brits is out. Sunderland-born Woodstock-lookalikey Andreas Hoivold is OUT, holding A-J against Raymond Landaas' A-2 on an A-8-7-2-4 board. Not sure when the chips went in, I'm afraid, but go in they did and they came out the property of Mr Landaas.

See Dana - now your guys aren't doing so well you want to jump on the Christian Grundtvig bandwagon... OK I'll allow it.  Because he's got 60,000 or so - more than enough to share.  Not that he's going to share them, he's going to assimilate everyone else's stack!  Which is the whole point of tournaments, after all... Gooo intense Danish WPT Champ.

Ok, as far as I can see, we are now officially playing a Brit-free tournament.

Norman Levitt is not in his seat, presumed OUT.

Also we found on the list one Piotr Paruszewski listed as a UK qualifier, but he is also not in his seat, thus presumed busted.

And Mr Barny Boatman, sole UK survivor of Day 1a, has just this moment picked up his proverbial wooden spoon and headed for the rail. Canadian Tommy Pavlicek makes it 3k to go, and Barny shoves for another 8.7k. After a not-very-lengthy dwell, Pavlicek calls.

Boatman - Jd 9d
Pavlicek - Js 8s

Board - 8d ("oooooh," says everyone) 3h 4h 2c 2h

"You thought you were committed?" says Barny. "I'll send you a maths book."

Peter Hedlund doubles up courtesy of Thomas Markussen.  Eventually.

Hedlund plonked his 9,400 stack in under the gun with a devil-may-care motion, implying that in no way did he have the Ks Kh which he actually had.  Longest.dwell.ever from Markussen on the button - Time was called before he put in the chips with Aspades Qd - over half his stack.
Flop: Jh Qh 9c
Turn: 4c  "Keep it LOW," asked Hedlund, and just in case the god of cards didn't hear the first time, "Low, low, low."
River: 5s  (low).

Markus Golser was in the hallway earlier when everyone still in the tournament was playing, which leads me to believe he's OUT, sorry.  Testud... we reckon still in but we're going to wait for confirmation from the official chip counts.

French Climber of the Day is definitely Arnaud Mattern whose 4k or something equally mini has become over 30k in the course of the first two levels.

Yeah he is.

And if Griffin didn't win Monte Carlo last year (huge payout) he'd have been the EPT most paid player ever. To avoid a "fake" ranking, EPT staff have created - or copied off PS... :P - a TLB (Tournament Leaderboard) ranking system which, through a formula based on their finish position, the number of entrants and the buy-in of the event, gives a more "consistent" overall ranking I suppose. Check it out here (http://www.europeanpokertour.com/db/players_list_ranking_tlb.htmls) if you like....

Also can you post a pic of (probably) one of the top 3 players from Europe: Bengt Sonnert?

I stroll into the room to find about 40 or 50k in the middle, and some kind of complicated negotiations between Giacomo Rosa and Frederik Jensen regarding who will show the other how many cards if they agree to fold. Jensen folds. Rosa flips the Kc. "King-Eight?" asks Jensen. "King-Deuce," says Rosa.

Our updates have up to this point been pretty Tung Huynh-free.  Our list says he's American, but apart from that we don't really know much about him - however he's been pretty active this level so here are some updates about him...

He moved in on a board of Aspades Kh 8c 6c with about 20k in the pot, for about a pot-sized bet.  This sent opponent Allan Bække into consideration-mode (he had a stack of around 91k at the time).  Eventually he said something you really shouldn't say, just in case: "I think I'm going to make a sick call..." before doing so with Kc Jh and finding Huynh holding Ahrt Ad.  "I don't think I can win," he calmly changed his opinion.

About ten minutes later, a pot grew between button Hyynh and Christina Orth - she check-raised him on the 5s 7h 2s flop (from 4k to 10k).  He called.
Turn: 3c  Now she bets out 7,500, but passes in consternation when Huynh moves all-in for 40-something thousand...

End of the Road for Arnaud...

He lost a few chips getting check-raised off a King-high flop by Prague runner-up Gino Alacqua (They Meet Again!) but only just busted this moment, having outlasted all British players and almost half of the day 2 starters.  Congrats/commiserations.

A couple of counts while we expectantly await full ones from Pokerstars/Mad...

Steve Frezer - 14,400
Rolf Slotboom - 70,000
Bill Chen - 40,000
Nedin Musa - 67,000
Joris Jaspers - 63,000
Andreas Glannbro - 65,000
Mattias Ressner - 65,000+

Here is Arnaud telling his woes to George Danzer. George, by the way, didn't play this week, somehow not managing to get himself a ticket. He has spent much of the week trying to find an ATM so he can hit the cash tables.

Yes, like I said, these counts were taken at the end of level 10 and we're now 10 minutes into level 12. It took an hour or so for them to get to us from the tables.

By the way, there'll be a 45 minute dinner break at the end of this level.

Tommy Pavlicek went out in Prague, 3 tables out in the sickest way ever. He had 9d 7d on a 9c 8c 7c 9s board, except Juha Lauttmaas had 6c 5c...

What about a photo of the "Norwegian sensation" Vegard Mandal? (76K now) He qualified through some freerolls at Centrebet, and this is his first big tournament. Wearing a green shirt, I think.

Thanks for these great updates, btw!

A big thank-you to Ladbrokes, by the way, for not saying anything when I stole an orange and a pretzel stick from their room. Spotted in said room: Julian Thew, playing some poker, I think. Also spotted: bunch of pretty ladies playing table football, like so:

We have threeway ACTION on Table Slotboom...

It folds to short stack Sargon Ruya on the button, who moves in fro 6,600, as you do.  Small blind, the chatty Leroy Soesman then moves in over the top for around 25k in what turned out to be a vain attempt to move fellow Dutchman Rolf Slotboom off the big blind and take on the all-in himself.  But Rolf (pictured), after thinking out loud, "Maybe I'm making a big mistake..." made the call out of his 65-70k or so.  On their backs, everyone!

Ruya - Ad 9d
Soesman - Kh Qs
Slotboom - Aspades Jc

Flop: 5c Qc 2h    "Aces Aces," mutters Rolf
Turn:  Ac
River: Qh    A jubilant Soesman busts Sargon Ruya, and dents Slotboom's stack, while shouting, "I don't deserve this!  But thank you thank you thank you!  Well, I said I was going to be the bubble, actually."

Cowboy Alfonso has entered the press room. "He's Italian," says Jen. If he were a real cowboy, he would ride an Italian stallion. If that didn't sound terrible when I say it like that.

I forgot to add this picture of him.  So here he is again... I quite like what appears to be a zip-up pocket on his sleeve - I could do with one of those.  Never lose my bus pass/mobile phone/chapstick and remove the need for the purse (for ladies) or the risky man-bag (for gents)...

WOW..nice shout Jpean! She has put on some pounds or aged a fair few years (about 8?) since I 've last seen anything from her (she had one or two decent "hits" in the Netherlands) but you might be right.

If it is her...well done! (though she's sodding annoying though and rather full of herself)

And while I was taking photos of Vegard Mandal, a big hand conveniently played out on his table. Big raising war resulted in Anders Hansen sticking it all in with Ad Qc against the 8d 8h of Ed de Haas.

Board - Ts 6h 2s 3h Th and Hansen is OUT.

Seeing as he's not on the list, and also cleverly deduced from the fact that he was in the press room shortly before the dinner break, we're guessing that Peter Hedlund is OUT, making the remaining runners, as a group, approximately 54% less talkative than before.

Timothy Vance News Now (I think it might be the first so far...)

The gruff-voiced American plays in a short-sharp manner which is quite refreshing after the amount of times I've heard 'Time' called today... He got involved in one of those blind on blind scenarios (as the bb) with sb limper Jonas Danielsson.
Flop: Js 3s 9d  Danielsson bet out 3,500.  Instacall.
Turn:  The least blank of all possible cards, I reckon: 8s  Danielsson tries a 3k bet, and Vance insta thumps down a stack of blue 1k chips.  It's 15k total - he gets a call.
River: Ac  Check from Danielssen and Vance's cards - the 5s 2s - are over before you see his hand move.  The microflush wins a decent pot.

This guy, Jan Sorensen, has a lot of chips. I don't think he likes me though.

So does this guy, Young American Joseph Serock. He took a few off of Trond just now holding Q-7 on a Queen-high board. I believe Trond had raised with A-J and was a bit unhappy about it. Poor old Trond.

Meanwhile Henrik Rune gets re-raised all in by Christoffer Thorsen after raising to 6k preflop, but gets the same 6k (well, obviously not exactly the same) back the very next hand when he takes his turn moving in pre over a raiser.  No calling on table Cagey right now, but it looks like a stack around 25k is almost seen as an insult around here and it's over the line at the first hint of resteal opportunity.

Trond this Trond that - I think you might be in danger of forgetting that my pick of the day is still in and doing formidably well - with an easily 120k stack and pretty excellent live record which beats that of your whippersnapper.

I believe I reported a hand earlier where the be-Western-shirted gentleman below, Mr Soren Jensen, went a bit nuts over a split pot. Well, he's been going even nuts-er since then.

A little before the dinner break, the gentle buzz-y hum of the press room is disturbed by a howl from outside. Everybody stops typing/drinking stolen tea/watching youtube videos and looks up. Mr Jensen is stomping around outside in the hallway, making weird squeaky yelping noises every few seconds. Busted, think we, exchange glances that say "yikes," and wait for the howls to stop before going back to whatever we were collectively doing before.

During the dinner break, he is in the lobby. He is on his phone. He is gesticulating like a crazy man. He does this for most of the dinner break. We begin to pity him. Let it go, think we, have you not got over your bad beat yet, crazy man? Leave your poor wife alone, she can't make it go away. We also begin to pity whoever he's on the phone to.

But when we come back from the break, he's still in! With lots of chips! It turns out that all the howling was not because he'd busted out, but amazingly because he'd won a hand and got so excited about it that he had to leave the room and make squeaking noises in the hallway! We do not understand.

So anyway. Now he makes it 7k utg. Vegard Mandel, two to his left, makes it 15k - maybe half his stack. Soren flat calls.

Flop - Qd 3h Jc

Vegard moves in, and Soren instacalls.

Vegard  Mandel - Ac Ad
Soren "Crazy Boy" Jensen - Jh Js

Turn - Th
River - Ts

Soren rises from his seat, fists in the air. He shouts at length in Danish. It sounds like, "C*** sorry me! Harm sir the veal lids me!" And so on. And then, recognisably in a kind of Scandie-English: "Sheep eat baby! Sheep eat baby!!!" Sorry, Vegard fans, he is totally gone. I do quite hope Soren makes final table now. God help us all when he does bust out...

I really can't top that Soren story.  I feel like I might as well go home now.  But seeing as that isn't an option:  DOUBLE TAKEDOWN NEWS!

Tim Vance (all the way from St. Louis, Missouri, I overheard), below pictured (and really remarkable Jack Nicholson-voice-alike) just took out two players, one holding Ac Kd and one what looked like Ks 2s with his Jd Jh which held all the way from preflop to the river, which is what you need to knock people out.  A bit more excitable now, Mr. Vance did some standing up, shaking hands with his busted opponents, talking to the dealer, talking to the new player on the table (you get the picture).  I wonder whether he's ever studied with a vocal coach.

He now has a very respectable 170,000.

Here's a photo of a section of the big tournament area, in case you haven't got a good idea what the playing environment is like.  It's nice.  Gradually the spectating is becoming a little more intense, although I heard that there was a side event underway tonight which might siphon some of them off.

Indeed, I have just witnessed a second astounding hand involving Mr Vance. Luca Pagano raises to 7k utg. Mr Vance makes it 21k. Mr Pagano makes it all in, or an additional 44.9k to Mr Vance. Says Vance, "Yowzers," or something similarly stereotypically American. He dwells for a few minutes. "Well, I do have a hand." He dwells some more. "You see, when your stack gets this big, I'm gonna like it even when it's 45k less." Mr Pagano shrugs.

Some minutes later (the intervening time whiled away by me listening to BA Kildalen whispering offensive things about Americans in my ear), Mr Vance says, "What you got? Kings? Aces?" He asks if he can turn over his hand before he decides whether to call or fold. He's not allowed to do that, it's a ten-minute penalty apparently. "Which would make it 15 minutes so far," says Pagano.

Some minutes pass before he passes a not-very-premium Ad Qh face up, and follows it with some more minutes' worth of bravado along the lines of, "Nice hand, sir, oh, I won't lay it down again" type stuff. The crowd that had formed is disappointed, and leaves.

Trond checks a Kc 2c 5h Jc 6h board, and then cagily calls Jan Sorensen's 8k bet. He mucks when Sorensen shows Js 6s. He shakes his head and smiles, sadly, like he's cradling a baby in an Athena poster.

I love this comment.

Great update this. It's getting me interested in what is happening in a tournament I couldn't care less about.

Ladies, do you think that the fact so few players we know are still in this (and thus, requests for specific player info are almost non-existant now) has given you the freedom to follow your WoodwardandBernsteinesque journalistic noses for good stuff to write about?

Yes this is all true - he's sat behind a pretty mountainous pile of chips (1k still the highest denom around).  There was the world's tallest man (or thereabouts) forming part of the crowd around his table so I couldn't get a good picture - bear with us and we'll bring you one by the end of the day though...

Rasmus Nielsen (pictured) just picked up about 20k like so...

Peter Eastgate raised preflop to 8k, called by Andreas Glannbro.  Over to Rasmus in the blind who slowly upped it to 35k - enough to commit the initial raiser's whole stack.  He was no longer interested, but it took Glannbro a little longer to let it go.  Which he did, tapping the table.

Joseph Serock has taken down a pretty chunky 40k pot. He called a bet from Jan Sorensen on a Ks Th 9c flop, and then they both checked the 7s turn and, a bit inexplicably (I guess he thought Sorensen would bet), the Jc river. Sorensen just mucked when he saw Serock's Jd 9d.

He's since been ABUSING his giganto-stack and bullying poor old Trond Eidsvig (in a very unbiased reporting sort of way). He raises from the button and Trond calls. Poor, honest, hard-working, attractive Trond checks the Ad 6s 7h flop and Serock bets 14k. Trond folds.

Tung Huynh is eliminated by continual talker Leroy Soesman (pictured next to Rolf in his spacevisor) who drew attention to the situation by saying, "I'm losing my audience! 'Oh he's all in again, what a surprise!'"  which of course drew back his audience and camera crew...  He showed Jd Js to Huynh's 3h 3s.
The board emerged... Ahrt 7h 4d 5d ... Qs to bring the total number of players down to a bubble-approaching 48.

One Official End Of Level 14 Chipcount that is no longer accurate is that of Pavarotti-a-like Gino Alacqua. He doubled up courtesy of fellow Italian Giacomo Rosa, shoving with  Aspades Ks and getting himself called by Ad Qc from Rosa's small blind.

Board - 3c 6s 5h 6d 7d

Rosa is down to about 40k.

Well here we are into most definitely the last level of the day, with 5 places to go until the money. It's all very exciting.

Our current chip leader we reckon, on around 280k, is this young gentleman, Mr Rasmus Hede Nielsen:

Alas alack though, our friend Trond Eidsvig has taken a bit of a beating - he's down to around 85k now with the blinds up to 2k/4k. Latest loss is down him calling a 13k raise from Jan Sorensen out of position, and then check-folding the 3d 4s Aspades flop. Come on, Trond!

Sorensen has also been doing damage to former chip leader Joseph Serock - he took a big pot off him with A-K on an A-x-K-x-x board. Serock mucked.

Joris Jaspers wins some chips!  JohanNED you may continue to celebrate...

What happened was this - Runar Runarsson was under the gun and Jaspers in the big blind.  I caught the hand from the flop so I don't know whether Runarsson raised and if so how much (pot visibility minimal).
Flop:  6d 7s Qh  Check to Runar who bet 15,000.  Joris thought for a little while and then flat called.
Turn:  2d  Check...think...check
River:  Kc  Check from Joris again - Runar kind of gave up and showed his 5h 5s while JJ took it with his Ad 7d.

Not sure whether this was before or after Jen saw that last pot, but when I counted Joris Jaspers' stack, it was around 220k. Here he is:

Just outside the money busts Lasse Jeppesen getting it all in with Qs Qd vs. Ahrt Kd ("We have a race," helpfully comments Leroy Soesman).  Two Kings later and he quietly leaves the room while his buster - Patrik Andersson - now has a 310k stack at least.

Friends, we are hand for hand!

Mr 43 was Jonas Lennartsson, who ended up sticking them in with Kc Jc against Ed De Haas' Ac 8h.

A 9s 8s 5h 9h Qc board later, we are down to 42; Jen has details of that...

Yeaaaah, Go Joris!!!

And Go Leroy Soesman as well!!!!!

Sadly, we have lost him in 42nd place (the bubble bubble)... With 44k he shoved on the cutoff when it folded round to him, waited as Rolf and the small blind passed, but the big blind instacalled - it probably wasn't going to be good news for his Qd 9c...and it wasn't - he was up against Kd Ks.

Flop:  Ahrt 7s 8c  "Ten?  No, doesn't really do that much..."
Turn:  2c  "I said I was going to bubble!  When I say something, I mean it," he resignedly joked...
River: 2d and he shook hands with his eliminator in a gentlemanly fashion and exited.

Hand for hand is now in operation...

Incidentally, fellow Dutchman Rolf in this picture was caught muttering to himself by Dana.  It was something like, "Weak.  Playing tight.  Tight weak.  Weak tight."  Hope he's not losing the plot on the bubble.

DOUBLE BUBBLE!!

Three tables simultaneously found players all-in during the same hand for hand hand (that looks odd).

1)  Gino Alacqua survived his one with Ad Kh after Rasmus Nielsen attempted to burst the bubble by taking the shortstack on with Q-x... no joy there (except for Gino).

2)  Haward Speer got it all in with Aspades Kc (see a pattern here?) given a spin by Trond Eidsvig with Qh Jh...
Flop:  8c 5d 8h
Turn: 5h
River: Qs

SO down one bubbler...

3)  Claus Tversted got it all in wtih Ks Js, and this time it was a big slick that called him - that one hit two pair and so Tversted is probably the official bubble - as his chip stack was the shorter of the simultaneously all-in players.

Phew.  Dana watched this, by the way, nudged vigorously by some Italians.  I applaud her efforts and will be buying some beer for her.

Photographic evidence from the three crowd-tastic bubble all-in, Italians poking me in the ribs and shouting "El Diablo!" spectaculars.

Witness Hand no. 1 - Gino Alacqua (sort of) and Rasmus Nielsen (small, in centre of photograph):

Hand no. 2 - Haward Speer and Trond Eidsvig:

Hand no. 3 - Claus Tversted (star hat; actual money bubbler) and Jarle Aasen (Che hat) - both possible contenders for Hat Of The Day if I'd noticed them earlier:

This all took ages, and proved a bit much for Joseph Serock:

Also proved a bit much for some guy in the press room:

That's it! See you tomorrow at 2pm for a much-faster-probably-now-everyone's-in-the-money day.

Funny that the worst hendonmob player (Barny) wants to send Tommy (Skier_5) a book about poker when Tommy is a much much better player. Thanks for the updates again guys, really enjoying it!

Also can you post a pic of (probably) one of the top 3 players from Europe: Bengt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=481) Sonnert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=481)?

Would really appreciate it!

Barney has that effect on me too. Was quite rude to me at Blackpool GUKPT. Will buy a light so he can see up his arse.
