Kev and I are back here, whilst the TV shows Newcastle losing to Blackburn in the last minute. Marvellous.

Full chip counts to follow for our remaining players to follow.

Play restarts at 2.30pm.

Red Dog has lost a few chips, he raised to 7k from cut-off and Marios Charalambous called from the small blind.

Ad 6h Td

Marios instantly pushed, Red folds with a sigh.

Martin Reeve raises to 6k from early position, Rob Allen pushes for about 31k from mid-position, Darshan Sami tanks it before passing. Back to Reeve who thinks about for a while, asking, "Can you beat Ace King?"

Eventually, with a 130k or so stack, he calls and shows a perhaps surprising Ahrt Jh. Allen shows Qs Qc.

Qd 6h Kc 6d Kh

Darshan Sami cries out in anguish, saying he passed Ace King, "I was thinking it was a great pass after the flop..."

any news on Al Rayner .. cheers

Looks to be a bit short at the moment with about 25k or so.

Here he is looking like he's imagining some pie or something.

He can imagine a bit more pie now, he's just doubled through the birthday boy Red-Dog, whose Kh Jd was in bad shape against Allen's Jh Js and even more so after the case Jack came down on the flop. Red down to LOL shoveaments, roughly 14-15k.

Pat Kelley has knocked out Richard Hunt. Jh Jd vs 2h 2s. An extra Jack on the flop for good measure.

CK Le just lost a 40k pot to Andreas Andersson, firing out two bullets on the flop and turn of a J-6-x-x-x board, the Swede called him down with Nines which was good against the Six in Le's hand. Le still has about 80k though, Andersson, an estimated 200k+ and Martin Wendt-sized headphones.

Matt 'Birdie' Cox -- 100k.

'Swedish Dave Gorman' Andreas Andersson is enveloped in a Thewy-style aura of pure running-hotness.

He's just had Queens against Marios Charalambous' Aces and David Barnett's Fours busting both.

Board: Qh 8s 3c 5c 3d

Can't stop the Scandie!!!

We've just lost Darren Terry too, no details though I'm afraid.

Red is our bubble bubbler.

Swedish Dave Gorman Andreas Andersson raised to 8.5k on the button. Red pushed for 28k and getting 2-1, Andreas made the call with Kh 4h. Red showed Aspades Tc.

Board:

3h 8h 9d 4s 9h

Red out in 19th. Andreas now has an uber-balla huge stack now.

Mistake it was actually Paul Lammas who was knocked out with the Fours vs Aces vs Queens

David Barnett had actually moved before being moved back into Red's old seat.

David Barnett just raised to 13k, Pat Kelley raised to 30k, back to Barnett who instantly moved in for about 60k total. Kelley made the call with Jh Js but made the face of someone stuck in a crowded left who has just smelt a pretty digusting fart, when Barnett showed Kd Kc.

Board: 9d 7s Td 2s 6c

Still on the bubble...

Keith Johnson just got very lucky.

Having got re-raised the previous hand by Andreas Andersson, who has been playing a big stack very well. Keith raises to 11k. CK Le calls from the big blind and then moves all-in on the 8d 7d 4h flop, Keith Johnson lets out a deep sigh and his shoulders' drop and calls with a complete air of resignation...

CK Le: Td 8s

Keith Johnson: Ahrt 7h

Turn: 6d

River: 5h

Sam Barton-Saville, who has had a microstack for ages, has just gone out to Peter Charalambolous, his Qh Jc missing the 8c 7c 3h 2s 3h board completely against Charalambolous' Aspades Th.

Martyn Reeve pushes from the button for about 40k, Allen Raynor pushes behind him from the small blind for just a little more.

Raynor flips Ad Th, dismay for the Welshman, who turns over Kd Td

Board: Ahrt 7s 6h Qs 6s

12 left.

Andreas Andersson -- 300k+
David Barnett -- 110k
Mickey Wernick -- 210k
Gerald Morris -- 40k
Keith Johnson -- 155k (see below)

Allen Rayner has just been knocked out by Keith Johnson, both had similar sized stacks, but Johnson's A-Q connected rather better than Rayner's J-J on the Queen-high board. All the money in on the turn.

And we have a final!

Gerald Morris pushes from the cut-off with Ad 4s for 51.1k

Andreas Andersson calls from the small blind with 5c 5h.

Board: Qs 8h 3c Qd Tc

Morris takes home £740 for his efforts.

CK Le is OUT in 9th place winning £1,020. Short-stacked with only about 40k, he pushes with K-4 but runs into Andreas' Aces.

Mickey Wernick raises from mid-position with Qh Jc, David Barnett pushes behind with 9d 9c. Getting 3-1, Mickey calls.

Kc 2h 3s 4c 6h.

Barnett doubles up and Mickey takes a slight hit into his stack.

;bp;

Nicholas Marshall raises to 20k on the button. Swedish Dave makes it 65k from the big blind and Marshall quickly calls.

Qs Th Ts

Swedish Dave moves all-in for between two and three times the size of the pot, Nicholas quickly calls.

Swedish Dave: 5s 3s

Nicolas Marshall: Kc Tc

The turn and river come 5c and 7h and Nicholas dashes off half-way across the club to celebrate. He must have almost 700k now, Andreas now is stuck with a short-stack

Add more to Nicholas Marshall's stack, a raise to 40k preflop. Mickey Wernick called, and then another 60k on the Jd 2d 9h flop before passing on the 8c turn.

He must have about 1 million now...

Title: Re: DTD Monthly £300 Event: Final Day - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 02, 2008, 08:29:08 PM
The sheer size and presence of Marshall's stack, has completely changed the dynamic of the final table. All the other players have completely retreated into their shells, due to the fact that Marshall's stack takes up nearly a quarter of the table. We've had a couple of walks for some of the players, something that probably wouldn't have happened maybe an hour. Although he hasn't done so yet, Marshall could really go for the throat now by raising or re-raising most pots and pushing the others about, knowing that none of them really can push back without a hand due to the size of the blinds. If a couple of the other players do double through him though, then maybe we might get a level of competitiveness that has, as of the moment, disappeared from the final table.

Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 02, 2008, 08:49:38 PM
If the rough counts are correct, and Nicholas Marshall does have 1.2 million with 500k or so shared between the rest. The blinds being 6k/12k with a 1k ante, so 25k in before each hand, is it close for Marshall to basically start shoving most hands if it's folded to him?

Anyone care to do the math(s)?

Title: Re: DTD Monthly £300 Event: Final Day - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on March 02, 2008, 09:02:56 PM
Pete Charalombos moves in for 156k. Swedish Dave Gorman Andreas Andersson moves in behind him, Garinder Purewal thinks for ages from the small blind and passes Queens.

Pete shows 9c 9d, Swedish Dave has Ac Ks.

Aspades Ts 9h 5c 6s is the board and Garinder is more happy than most. Pete onto 300k, Swedish Dave Gorman down to just 60k.

This 60k goes in next hand with Q-T against Nicholas Marshall's K-J, the board comes out J-Q-Q-x-x and our lone Scandie gets back up to 120k.

David Barnett moves in from the cut-off for about 80k, Andreas Andersson calls from the big blind.

David: 7s 7h

Andreas: Ad Qs

Board: 2s 9s 5s 6s.....8h

Close, but wrong suit for David Barnett meaning he's out in 7th place winning £1,785

The Swede is back from the dead, and back into the running!

One wonders how Keith Johnson is still in at this point, he has 65k/4BB's at this point, as he has done probably for the last two hours...

But fair play, he's sticking around.

Nick Markshall raises to 55k from UTG, Swedish Dave moves in from the button, Nick passes Ac Th, Swedish Dave shows Aspades Qs, it's all very friendly here...

Nick then raises from the small blind and Pete surprisingly just flat calls the 50k raise, leaving himself only 110k behind, which looks very strong...

8h Js Tc

Nick, perhaps unsettled by the flat-call, effectively waves the white flag and checks and Pete instantly pushes. Nick folds. It's all becoming a lot more close in terms of stack-sizes and position...

Mickey Wernick raises it up from UTG to 60k or so. Andreas 'Swedish Dave Gorman' Andersson moves all-in from the big blind. Mickey calls.

A.S.D.G.A: 6d 6h

M.W: 9c 9s

Board: 5c Qd Qh Tc 2d

Andreas 'Swedish Dave Gorman' Andersson is OUT in 5th place winning £3,315

Mickey Wernick -- 470k (just lost around 150k to Nick Marshall on a 9-9-T-x-Q flop with Q-T I think, Nick held J-9)
Garinder Purewal -- 210k
Nick Marshall -- 560k
Pete Charalombous -- 450k

A deal based on the chip count has been verbally agreed. They're just counting stacks to see who 'officially' wins. Suffice to say I think everyone gets at least £6,000.

Thanks to Kev for helping, and to dtd for hosting us.
