Greek Jack raises to 125, Dharminder Buttar (3rd in Walsall?) re-raises to 725, then seat 1/04 (no list yet) re-re-raises to 2,225. Greek Jack folds, Buttar calls. 7h Qd 8c 1/04 bets 2k, Buttar calls. Qs 1/04 checks, Buttar bets 2k, 1/04 moves all-in Buttar calls and flips Qh Qc for Quads whilst 1/04 shows Kings and is drawing dead. Steve Jelinek was pretty sure the Queens shouldn't be calling preflop which seems a reasonable assumption. Should the Kings also be able to get away post flop? No Ace on board and Henning is on 16k I think.

Albert Sapiano's unique tactic of calling on the flop to hit a gutshot on the turn has backfired so far today, he's down to only 3,000 chips or so. Alex Martin c/raised Jeff Duvall and one other player on the turn of a 4d 7s Ks Th board, Jeff passed by the other player called. Alex checked the 4h river and was then faced by an all-in push of about 3,925. Alex thought for a moment before calling with a river counter-feited Tc 7d, but any fears he had went unfounded as the other player mucked and then left to head to the bar presumably. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 25, 2008, 06:25:27 PM Henning Granstad now claims he's freerolling after raising pocket Tens after Nick Slade limped under the gun. Both checked the Q-J-T flop, fearful that the other had A-K. Slade bet out on the 7 turn and Henning just called. On the river Slade bet nearly twice the pot and Henning again just called, somehow having not gone broke against Nick Slade's Q-Q.
Alex Martin's 3-barrel bluff went wrong, min-raising 5-4o from the button and firing 600, 1,200 and 3,600 on the flop, turn and river but being check/called the whole way by the 6c 4c of his opponent on the Kh 9c 8c 7d 5d board. Steve Jelinek and Jeff Duvall are both OUT, the latter being all-in with a flush draw but running into the nut-flush draw. ****1 HOUR DINNER BREAK**** Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 25, 2008, 08:14:41 PM Ok, lots of stories now.
Julian Thew has knocked out Ben Reynolds with Jacks vs King Queen on a K-Q-J board. Here he is, once more stacking chips, which must be second nature these days. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=16306&g2_serialNumber=1) Also on this table, dinner break leader Dan Samson. Why he's blondeite 'Maldini32' Here he is, though facial expression seems to suggest he's wearing Rick Trigg's skintight silver shorts, and they're a little too tight... That one ended up as a split pot, literally a couple of hands later, they're at it again, this time Yilfer shows Ad 6c, marginally ahead of Nick's Ac 5s. A 4c Jd 9s Ts 3h board later and Yilfer somehow doubled up.

A re-raised pot between small and big blind with A-Q. A Q-5-3 flop, and an opponent holding Q-Q were his downfall.
Paul Gourlay -- 28k With Pete Linton now in his seat, we think Vince Mather is out. Glenn Ashworth raises to 1,600 from the cut-off, John Eames calls from the button. Ashworth bets out 2,200 on the 9d 5c 7h flop and Eames raises him another 4,500. After a minute or so quiet contemplation, Glenn moves in and Eames calls. Glenn shows 8h 8d, slightly pipped by Ashworth's Js Jh. The Td gives Eames two more outs and loses him two outs at the same time, but the Qs river is not one of them. Glenn Ashworth up to around 18k. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 25, 2008, 09:48:20 PM Iwan Jones and Connor Smyth are both OUT.
Jason Shellum meanwhile was very happy about managing to fold Kings preflop earlier after, there was a raise to 500, he made it 1,500, then the player behind him made it 3,000. The original raiser pushed, he folds Kings and the re-re-raiser folds Queens. Aces should flat the 4-bet there and let the Kings push? Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 25, 2008, 09:52:55 PM Paul Gourlay, "I've lost about 20k, first with T-9 on a T-9-6 board (two diamonds) vs 7d 6d to lose 15k, then next I raised K-T and hit a Ten-high board, only to bump into A-T for another 5k."
Alex Martin is OUT. "I've decided I'm going out on the piss instead." Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 25, 2008, 10:34:59 PM John Conroy is now seemingly the man to beat, he's just knocked out Sean Fagan, with A-K vs 3-3, the flop proving pretty decisive when it came A-A-K.
Shortly afterwards, Conroy was at it again, re-raising to isolate Dharminder Buttar's A-K push, again Conroy was racing, and again it went in his favour as his Nines triumphed on the 6-6-7-6-3 board. Conroy is now chip leader with 65k. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=16343&g2_serialNumber=1) Also going very well is Nik Persaud, the inform player of the GUKPT, 3-betting most of his stack on a 8h Ad Qd board to scoop a 30k pot or so against Adam Lawler. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=16345&g2_serialNumber=1) John Eames has just gone, pushing with J-9 into A-Q, he rivered a pair, but unfortunately it made a straight for his opponent. He shoved with 9-8 and got called by Andrew Brisland's T-T.
The flop came T-3-3. "Running Threes!" shouts James maybe a little optimistically...Sadly this was a live game and not online though. Maz Nawab's Kd 7d has outdrawn Jack Powell's 9c 9d on a 9c 5d 6d board, the 4h providing 3 extra outs, the Jd being the killer river to cause Powell's exit. Nick Gibson's exit was with Aspades 6s to Steve Littlejohn's Ad Qd. Pete Linton knocked Lynne Beautmont out, A-T vs A-J, hitting two pair and then rivering a flush. "We've created a monster," says Henning Granstad. Leo Kam is OUT, as is Mickey Wernick. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Colchester Kev on April 25, 2008, 11:48:45 PM BIG POT involving Nik Persaud and Karim Louis
I get there as the flop reads 6s 3d Qh Nick Fires 5k at the pot and is re-raised by Karim another 10k Nick Dwells but eventually makes the call and the turn comes ... Ac Check from Nick, Check from Karim River is 2d ... Nick now bets 12k, Karims turn to dwell ... he eventually and rather reluctantly makes the call ... nick turns Ahrt Qd and Karim mucks. Nick Persaud now has a healthy stack must be around the 60k mark Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 26, 2008, 12:01:26 AM Dan Owston has crippled Robert Romanello (who subsequently went OUT), Dan re-raising Roberto preflop, Roberto called then open pushed the 8-5-4 flop, Dan called though as he would done, seeing as he'd been holding 5-5, which now puts the Welshman on around 63k.
Double blow for the Irish, both Donal Norton and Rob Taylor are both OUT. John Conroy has knocked another player with A-K vs 9-8. Nik Persaud and Dan Owston after winning their big pots. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Manchester: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on April 26, 2008, 12:40:44 AM Julian Thew is OUT. Crippled with Jacks against Dan Sampson's Fours, he then had Ace Queen into Andrew Brisland's Kings.
Dean Sanders meanwhile is on ubertilt. Lots of people limped including Kareem Louis (2nd in Brighton), a short stack pushed for 4k and Dean Sanders pushed behind with Aces, a couple folded and then, apparently Kareem called all-in for 15k with Kc 4c and hit a flush on the river... Sanders however just got a double up pushing over the top of Dan Sampson's button push with A-Q and finding himself up against J-9, though after the flop he was rolling his eyes up in the air when it came down 8-7-6, another 8 on the turn followed by a Q on the river has put him back in the game with about 22k. Dean was telling me that after the hand in Monte Carlo last year, (He held 8-7 on a T-9-6 board vs Marc Karam's T-9 which hit running 6's for the chip lead with about 20 left) and then having the nuts rivered in the WSOP ME, he took a lot of time off tournaments and didn't play one until January this year, and that this is only his second, preferring just to play cash back in the Vic. (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=16351&g2_serialNumber=1) Dan Sampson has since gone OUT. Maldini32 has managed a double-up with J-T. Against J-9. On a K-9-3 board. Queen on the turn. No more short sentences. Promise. Nick Honey is feeling sweeter after a last minute hand double up with Eights against Simon Turton's Jacks. John Conroy and Nick Slade chopped a 40k pot when they got it all-in preflop with A-K vs A-K. ;kc; Play has now finished for the day. Chip counts to follow. Tomorrow we'll restart at 2pm, but for now we're making a mad dash for the taxi rack before everyone else... ;stickaforkinme; |
