Ok there were 20 players...James and a couple of players arrived late from Sheffield and lost a few blinds.

We are now down to 14 players...7 on each table.

Early casualties included Nick Whitten & Whiskey Kev

Early chip leaders are Dubai Dave, Greek Jack and the Yongsta

I am sat next to RED DOG who has played 3 hands in 3 hours
1. top set
2. top two pair
3. And 1 pair... Aces of course

Greek Jack clashes with Dubai Dave and is now a big chip leader with 35,000

Doesn't the lappy have bluetooth?

If no bluetooth available - any pics taken with a mobile could be emailed it Ironside from the mobile!

Or MSM to him if he has a camera phone too!

Well your request does not count then. You'll not be able to see the pics.....

WSOPin06 - yeah, I tried a few 7-4 stunts against Kiril, he caught me every time. So I thought "next time sunshine, I wont give you room to push me off". Waited for 704, no luck, but the even better 5-3 arrived, & the muppet called me with AK. His face was a picture, like both of his cards, especially when the 5 flopped.  But he got lucky & outdrew me when the turn card was the K. Soooo lucky.

But I'll never forget his face when I turned over 5-3. Or mine, when he called me.......

Just got back, I was knocked out in 9th, Dubai was 10th when his QQ was cracked by the Yongsta's AQ.

Womble raised my BB when I had AKs, I pushed and he produced KK.

Grecko, Womble, Yongsta and Geary were the biggest stacks as I remember.

It was a long day after getting there before noon for the STT which I managed to win after a 2 hour heads-up with Snoppy.

Great day though, fantastic atmosphere and limitless hospitality from Rob and his family. Not a bad little pad either  ;)

Just got back too.

Absolutely shattered.

That two hour HU slog in the STT with Carrabiner (2 can play that game  >:D) really wore me out.

Will write a few more words in the morning.

Fantastic house. I intend to move in on Monday.  8)

Bit disappointed PokerGirlie never showed.   :'(

Unlucky Ralph ( I was thinking of having a bet on you) I thought you played very well and you were under the weather.

Sorry your 99 did not hold up v Action Jack and his AK.
when I went to DC's table to deal not much happening then all hell broke loose Greco getting top staight
on the flop then AA in 2 hands G Jack taking a walk DC going out and Ariston going out with 77 v 1010 all in 10mins.

Poker aside Rob Yong and his family what top people. His father, he does the best Bar-B-Q in town.To open your crib
and offer hospitality like that is second to none. No wonder this guy is so good in Bussiness.

So a big up to the Yong's and Nick W for a great evening.

Regards

M

Yes, big thanks to Rob for a great evening, so many blondeites there.

The Comp was chopped between Michael Greco & Womble, Michael taking the victory eventually.

I have a heap of pics which I will try & post on Sunday at some stage. I've just got back, it's 0530, & I fly out to Amsterdam in 5 hours, so gotta dash.

Sorry for the lack of updates on the home game, we had over 50 people here and we were all very busy trying to orgainse everything. We finished the comp at 5am and then played pool for a few hours. me and Nick had to sort sleeping arrangements out for 8 people and Simon Zach and Chubby Nowab ended up having to share a double bed at my house! The final results were:

Michael "dont call me Bepe" Grecho - £9000
Steve "A2 Womble" Warmsley - £5000
Me £3000
George "Cigar" Cleary £2000
Simon "Chubby" Nowab £1000

I think everyone had a great night and thanks to everyone who helped me and Nick

Cheers Rob

I had a fantastic time at Rob's, it's an experience just to see his house, it's nice to see someone defy convention and do things their own way

The hospitality was first class, everything laid on, we were really well looked after, mainly thanks to Nick's Mum (I tried to pull her but she was having none of it) and Rob's Dad, who stood out in the rain to do us a barbecue, I liked him as soon as I met him, straight forward, very friendly, but you could tell he wouldn't stand for any messing

During the barbecue and firework display, Rob's sister put in an appearance; she obviously doesn't take after Rob because she was very beautiful

The game itself was one of the most enjoyable I have ever played, top class players, wonderful atmosphere, great banter and rivalry, and an excellent structure that allowed for plenty of play. I would love to do it again but the buy in is a bit salty for my modest means, I'll be giving the satellites my best shot though

If the home game is anything to go by, Rob's card room will be amazing; I really hope he can make it work

Thanks for a great day

Cheers for the hospitality Rob, a great weekend was had by all. I enjoyed meeting a few new faces (one in particular who is for me the new blonde pinup  :-*) and loved the little sitngo we had for a seat- I know Malc was enjoying my rubdowns deep down and is very worried how I was naming his hands lol. The whole weekend was great fun and as usual I managed to outplay myself putting on a very sophistacted play against mr burns who just couldn't pass his aces  :D I will write a report at a later time but after just getting back home I am in need of sleep. Next time there is a home game everything should be dropped as it really is the best event to attend either playing or railing.
PS message from Colchester Kev- he has 600 pukka pies various flavours to shift- also comes with £400 worth of 5/10/20ps...best offer accepted.

Thanks to the belated onset of jetlag I made an early exit after missing out on 2 satellites.  After barely staying awake while driving back home I managed to sleep for about 14 hours!!!

Anyhow, thanks to Rob for the hospitality and a fun day which sounded like it got better after I left (hope the 2 are unrelated events!)  Hopefully I'll stick around longer at any future events.

Nice to meet a few more Blondites too (Ariston, Karabiner, Snoppy/Spoony/small white beagle, Nick W to name a few).
