Title: DTD JULY 3-2-1 MAIN EVENT
Post by: Colchester Kev on July 05, 2008, 06:35:08 PM
Me and Mugboshi have set up camp here at DTD to bring you action, information and norkage from Europes premier poker venue.

A whole host of blondeites are expected to be taking their seats for the main event which kicks off at 8pm ... Join us, abuse us, and send us on wild goose chases for chip counts and info on all your hopes for the comp.

Remember its an interactive update, no kittens will be killed, but if you dont play along i may have to slap Kinboshi :D

:hello:

There are a few blondes playing today, and we'll see if anyone can emulate Simon and Chili's performance last time round.

For those with amnesia, the top three made a DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/index.php?affiliate=blonde)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/index.php?affiliate=blonde)-style deal and the payouts were:

Ali Ahmed £9,460
Simon Lee £8,642
Maria (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=258) Demetriou (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=258) £6,895

Bit of action.

Small amount in the middle and it's checked to the river where Rich Hare (ChipRich) makes a small bet of 300 with the board showing:

6c 5s Tc Th 9c

Mario Demetriou then raises 800.

Rich thinks for a while, and then calls.

Rich = 7d 8c
Mario = 7h 8h

More blonde action, this time involving Rich Trigg and John Deeley:

There's already 1,200 in the pot with the flop showing:

7d 7c 5c

Trigg bets 900 and is raised to 2,100 by Deeley.

After a dwell, Trigg announces "raise" and makes it 5,125.

Deeley's turn to think, and after a brief dwell he passes his cards.

Trigg shows one card, the 9d.

First though, an interesting hand from the genius that is Maria Demetriou.

4 players in an unraised pot see a flop of:

2c 4s 9d

Nicolas Mclellan in the SB checks, and Maria bets 300 into the 400 pot from the BB.

It's folded back round to Nicolas in the BB who raises it to 1,000.  Maria calls.

The turn is 7h

They both check and the card that makes or breaks it on the river is the 9c

Nicolas bets 1,500 and Maria goes into the tank, before calling.

It turns out it was a great call, and Maria's Tc Td was good against Nicolas' Jc Qs

ACTION ACTION ACTION  ACTION ACTION ACTION  ACTION ACTION ACTION  ACTION ACTION ACTION

A Kc 7d Th board got things going with Des (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) Jonas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129)' bet being raised all-in by Paul Hardy.  Round to Danny Toffel who then re-raises all-in.  Des folds and Paul is up and down with the Qs Jc and Danny is sitting pretty with two pair with Ks Tc.

7h turn, and a river of the 2d means that Paul exits stage left and Danny rakes in a nice pot to add to his stack.

Total runners with alternates .. 119

With the Western event on, and a lot of DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/index.php?affiliate=blonde)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/index.php?affiliate=blonde) regs in Vegas, I think 119 is a good field ... and there is a lot of quality in those 119 ...

[ ] Chip rich is included in last sentence

Is Claires stack looking any healthier?

No action from Claire.  She's being patient and waiting to emulate Monkey Matt's exploits.

He too was down to about 5,000 after his full house was beaten by a bigger one.  He managed to get back to over 7,000 when the following happened:

He has Aspades 2s in the BB and with an unraised pot he checks to see the flop with two other players.

The flop is a pleasant one for Matt - 3c 4c 5s

He bets 200 into the pot of 600 and is raised by Chris Ellinas on the button for another 600.  The SB folded, and weary of the flush draw Matt re-raised to 2,100.  Chris then shoved all-in for about 7,000.  Mat called and Chris turned over 7s 5h with top pair and a gut-shot.

The turn card gave Matt the wobbles - the 5d, giving Chris trips and giving him more outs.

The 9s river however was a nice one for Matt, and he doubled up and then knocked out Chris who was down to a few hundred in the very next hand.

Danny with his new chips neatly stacked:

No, she was on 3,800 at the break.  Kev is getting some counts, but I don't think she's moved much from there.  Waiting for her spot to double up.

Simon Lee who was in 2nd place in last month's 300 when the deal was done.  Not fairing as well today, but Simon has had a lot of good results at DTD and you write him off at your peril

Claw bets gets raised all in and calls

UpTheMariners has been sunk - and slow-rolled at the same time for good measure.

8c Qh Kd flop

Daniel has 2s 2c and the flop is checked.

Turn of 2d

Daniel shoves, and then after a dwell his opponent calls.  Daniel reveals his turned set, and his opponent grimaces before delaying and then turning over his 8d 8h.

Daniel isn't too upset about going out, but is not happy about the slowroll.

Not necessary is it?

Trigg has just bored me and Kev to sleep explained to us that he's not happy with the standard of play that saw an all-in shove against his Aspades Qh that he had to lay down as he didn't want to commit at this level with his whole stack.  The shove was in response to a short stack who had shoved, and the isolator wanted Trigg out of the hand.

What monster did he have to do this?  Js 7h.

The flop was Ad Qc 2s - ldo.

He's a bit annoyed

EvilPie - aka Matt Russell is down to a few thousand or so.  His shove went uncalled and he triumphantly turned over 6h 5c - not sure he wanted a caller on that one.

Also at that table is Red-Dog.  The topic of conversation is mobile phones, and this saw more than half the players on the table whip out their phones for comparison.  Not sure how this sits with the rule of 'no phones at the table' but the dealer was happy that they weren't using them - just showing off who had the most megapixels and whose phone had GPS, the shiniest case, etc.

An outbreak of poker on this table is forecast sometime within the hour.

I get to Dan Owston's table, and there's a lot in the middle and the board is

Qh 9c 6c 9d 4s

Lots of talking from Dan (surprise surprise), but he says that he's not beating much as he thinks about calling the 4,500 bet on the river by Sam Savile-Barton.  He basically says that he has very little of it, but he thinks Sam is bluffing.

Dan then makes the call with Tc 6d and Sam flashes his Kc Jh before throwing them into the muck.

Dan is up to 24K now.

UpTheMariners has been sunk - and slow-rolled at the same time for good measure.

8c Qh Ks flop

Daniel has 2s 2c and the flop is checked.

Turn of 2d

Daniel shoves, and then after a dwell his opponent calls.  Daniel reveals his turned set, and his opponent grimaces before delaying and then turning over his 8d 8h.

Daniel isn't too upset about going out, but is not happy about the slowroll.

Not necessary is it?

name and shame please kin

just spoke to dan on the phone. he said he bumped into the guy in the toilet and he smirked at dan. danny boy aint happy

wanker

name and shame please kin!

Thats a bit harsh.  Fk all up with slow rolling IMO :)
And he may have been up against a bigger set.

22   3   Rutter Neil
22   4   Daniel Rudd
22   5   Thomas Mccready
22   6   Matthew Wadham

this was upthemariners table, kinboshi stated that red dog saw all that happened as he was sitting next to the protaganist, as one side is upthemariners himself we can deduece the guilty party must be the guy in seat 6

DONK - you wouldn't be able to work it out, as you didn't have the seating chart at that stage of the tourney, and that table has now been split.

Des (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) Jonas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) has been eliminated at the hands of Little Miss Chatterbox, Fran (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1341) Creed (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1341).

A flop of Aspades 7c 4c saw them both get excited and the chips went in.

Ahrt Th for Des

Ac Kc for Fran (not a bad flop then).

3c 4s

Fran now up to 40K at least.

wahoo nice one fran  :)up

Back to the slowroll involving UpTheMariners.  Just asked Red-Dog about it, as he was seated next to the protagonists and asked the accused if he intentionally slow-rolled or not.  Red-Dog said that it looked like a slowroll to him when it happened.

The accused said he didn't mean to.  He thought Daniel had turned the flush as there were red cards on the board - then he realised he hadn't and he breathed a sigh of relief and then turned his eights over.

so who was it just out of interest

TBH I wont allow the player to be named as after talking to a few different people, opinion is divided on whether it was a slow roll or not.

your lucky im to lazy to work it out

where did you mind your morals? ;)

Jane taught me.

DONK - you wouldn't be able to work it out, as you didn't have the seating chart at that stage of the tourney, and that table has now been split.

Also, you bet against Federer and Nadal in the semis.

Dan Owston will not have the epitaph on his headstone of 'Got it in quietly'.

He's been moved to a new table, and has continued his game of raising liberally, talking even more liberally, and hitting everything.

He now has lots of chips - I'm guessing that he might well be the chip leader...

Accident with AK v QQ knocked her down to 2K, which she managed to build back up to 6K.

Then, she had 99 in the cut-off and she pushed all-in on one limper, button called and everyone else folded.

Button shows 22 and the turn is a two making his set.

OUCH.

Red-Dog's was sitting on a fairly short stack and obviously needed to make a move.

I arrived at his table to see him move all-in on a board of:

4c Ac 6d 5s 7h

With 6K already in the middle, Tom moved all-in for another 5K.

Christopher Bruce asked for a count, and he has Tom covered (but not by much) - so it's a big call for him to make.

He makes the call and tables Aspades 9c.  Tom taps the table and concedes with "good call" and mucks his Jc Th.

It's one tough table that one, with Dan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=121) Owston (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=121) imposing himself in his own inimitable style.

LeKnave with the  Aspades Kh and Dylan Herbert with the  Ks Kd.  I got there late, but I'm guessing it was all-in pre.  Dave had Dylan covered, but not by much - each of them sitting with around 35K.

The board:

Dave turning the  Ahrt to go ahead, only to see the case Kc on the river.

Dylan is up to about 70K and Dave is a ghost at the table.  He doesn't look happy, but then again he never does.

The Welsh are getting a bit excited with their whooping and hollering.  The TD has warned them to keep it down, as it's going slightly beyond lively enthusiasm.

The board:

Dave turning the  Ahrt to go ahead, only to see the case Kc on the river.

Dylan is up to about 70K and Dave is a ghost at the table.  He doesn't look happy, but then again he never does.

The Welsh are getting a bit excited with their whooping and hollering.  The TD has warned them to keep it down, as it's going slightly beyond lively enthusiasm.
maybe the td should get out more?

No - they're lucky not to have had some sort of penalty against them.  Shouting and swearing continuously - and it's not the nicest of atmosphere I've experienced.

Fuelled by alcohol.

LeKnave is out ... after the Ak v KK coup he shoved short with AK, a re raise all in and a massive dwell from another player who eventually passed showing AK ...Didnt please LeKnave who also had AK and was up against QQ ... no help and LeKnave has exited stage left.

Noise level reduced courtesy of Monkey Matt taking 90% of Dan Owstons stack ... all the money went in on the turn with Matt holding top pair against Dans Flush draw which missed on the river

Matt now has a very handsome 83k.

To save any incorrect accusations I'll tell you that the accused slow roller is the guy in seat 3 FACT.

IMO he didn't slow roll. He was slow but he looked very relieved when he realised he'd won and was just working out whether he'd won or not as he was turning his cards over.

It was after the river and both had made a full house. There was plenty he could've been behind.

Not deliberate or intentional as far as I could see. And even if it was who cares it's not like he shot anyone.

GL all the blondes left especially the ones in the Des Jonas last longer pool.

I also am not a big one for gratuitus swearing at the table. i know dan gat get pretty leery for sure- not malicious though. It is just the comment about action being taken- to my mind slow rollowing stroke pulling and are worse offences as is personal insults thrown at other players. These never seem to be punished. I wont condone boorish behaviour, I think you will find most of the welsh contingent are pretty decent guys.

25 minutes left of today's play and on the whole the larger stacks are playing cautiously not wanting to slip up before tomorrow.  The short stacks are looking for opportunities to double up, and the more aggressive large stacks are happily bullying and picking up the blinds and antes.

As well as Danny Toffel, it appears that Matt Doyle and Chris Bruce are the other big stacks.

dylan and dan owsten were a pain in the arse tonight, and i was glad to get out of the place, they seemed intent to let the whole of the place know if they lost or won a pot.

As for my tourney started really well, didnt show down much got to 18/19k at the break, then had 3 levels from hell, flopped a flush got all in vs top and bottom and the turn binked his house for a decent pot. Then lost 3 str8 races, doubled back up then maybe made a dodgy move with 55 vs someone i had 3-bet pre about 4 times before. Regretted it as soon as id done it but meh. Sick that my 7% goldenballs is out i was almost counting out my £800.

All the best to fran for tomoz, one tiiiime!

Dave Clayton's chip count was incorrect - a bit of a typo.  Unfortunately for him, he's actually the second shortest stack rather than chip leader.

GL all the blondes left especially the ones in the Des (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) Jonas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) last longer pool.

Marcus B-J ftw  :)

thanks evil for the clarification and a fine explanation.

based on your other comment though can i assume you actually enjoy people that slowroll or slowroll yourself?

Don't enjoy it, don't do it.

Just never lose sleep over it that's all.  :)

I don't think you'll ever get rid of slow rollers. Anyone who does it without realising the lack of etiquette they're showing will probably never do it again if someone complains because they genuinely didn't want to upset anyone.

Unfortunately people who deliberately slow roll are tit heads so probably don't care about our opinions of them. When they smile smuggly you just have to try and pity them because if winning one hand of cards is all they have to be smug about they're struggling somewhere else in life.

That told 'em  ;nana;

you've never been slow-rolled in your life as you've never put a chip across the line without the nuts
