Play has just restarted, and the lucky blighters will be getting a full level of 500/1000/75 instead of just 40 minutes.

Ok it's getting veeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting here. Lawrence Gosney lost a load of chips early on, maybe 30k or so but two hands just may have completely shaped this event in a certain way.

Firstly, James Morgan raises from mid position and is called by Mohammed Shoahebe and Sam Trickett in the blinds, the flop comes out 8c 4h 6d.

Mohammed bets 6k, Sam calls and James raises to 16k. Mohammed passes and Sam asks James how much more he has.

"Around 36k," is the scouser's reply.

"And how much did you start with today?" Sam continues.

"About 55k."

Satisfied that he has enough info, Sam pushes his whole stack into the middle and immediately, James looked pained. He says, "I'm going to need a moment here please," but he says it in a way that we know the fold is coming. And it does. It put Sam Trickett over 100k.

The second of these hands belongs to Lawrence Gosney, who the previous hand limped UTG with 3-2o and hit trip twos against Sam Trickett's K-Q. In this hand, Sam limps the button, Andy Greekfish calls from the small blind and Lawrence checks.

5c Qs Jc

Greekfish bets out, Lawrence calls and Trickett folds.

2c

Greekfish now fires out 5,800 and Lawrence raises 14,800. Greekfish begins the talk,

"I'm going broke here lads I think. Sam, what should I do?.....I raise, I'm all in."

Lawrence quietly says, "Call."

Greekfish: Qh Js

Gosney: 8c 7c

The 3d river is a perfect blank card for the bracelet winner and now Gosney has retaken the chip lead with over 110k.

Gosney or Trickett, who will win the battle of the heavyweights?

This is the exact moment Paul Gourlay pushed all in (perfect moment to stick a flash in his eyes mi thinks). With the board reading 2d 7s Qc Js, Paul came over the top of Steve Craig's 7,000 bet for several thousand more. The pause from Craig seemed to comfort the Rocket Man who broke the silence: "It's going to be a fast exit for one of us." Eventually, Craig made the fold, showing the Jd in the process, and was met by a Qs 2s from Paul. "See, I told you I hit it hard."

Julian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) Thew (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) is OUT, what a difference a level makes, from 60k to gone. On the turn of a Ad Ks Jh 8s, Thewy saw his 4k bet check/raised to 12k which he duly called, before calling a further 25k on the river only for Dennis Clough to show him Qd Td for the nuts. Thewy flashing A-K as it sailed into the muck.

Soon after, having been moved tables, he went in for his last 13k or so with Kd 9d only to run into Dyfed Price's Ahrt Kh. I guess for just a moment, he became a mere mortal like the rest of us... :D

Alli Mallu would be a welcome addition to a Gosney/Trickett battle for me, but he's just lost a decent pot to Tony Cascarino, who called a 14k river bet on a Kd Qh Jd 6d 6h board, Mallu quickly mucking, leaving the former football collecting all three points and elevating him up the league standings as he showed the victorious Q-T.

Trickett/Gosney, two men enter, one man leaves. Welcome to Thunderdome.

Chaz Chattha is out, he thought he was covered but he had a few chips left but sadly couldn't manage a Bill Edler style comeback.

Womble is OUT. A J-8-x flop, Womble holding Queens against Terrence Owen's T-9 and the rivered set our hero didn't want to see.

A nation mourns.

But Womble will return!!!

As I make my way back to the pressroom, I am lured back by a chunky pot involving Justin Devonport and Stefan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2146) Raffay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2146). I'm not sure what Devonport made it preflop, but it appeared as though he put out a standard raise from the button, was re-popped to 11,000 by Stefan on the big blind, before pushing all in for what was a total of 47,950. After contemplating his options for a minute or two, Stefan took a deep breath and announced call, before nervously tabling Th Ts. Justin breathed a sigh of relief and revealed Js Jc. However hard Stefan glared at the felt, no ten arrived on an Ad 9c 4h 9d 8c board and Justin was left to rake in a very meaty pot indeed. "I didn't want to see A-K," he said in the aftermath.

After a slow start, we're seeing more action now than a Die Hard boxset. Everywhere I look there's an all-in. One player who has been in and out more than the hokey-cokey is Sid (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) Harris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396). After seeing him come over the top of Dennis Clough from the button (Clough folded), Sid found himself all in (or thereabouts) just a few hands later. With Sid raising it up preflop, Steve (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=806) Craig (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=806) made the call from the blind and both players saw a rainbow A-K-x flop. Steve checked, Sid pushed, and Steve called all in, leaving Sid with just 1,500 behind. On their backs, and Steve was well in front, his A-Q in good shape against Sid's K-J. With no help for Sid on the turn or river, he's left with a bowel of rice whilst Steve is now "dangerous" as Rocket Man Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) so aptly put it.

Anthony Shields has doubled through Surindar Sunar with 5h 5d vs Ad Jh. A 5s flop that was however followed by Kc and Th but no queen came along on the 3c turn and the 6d river.

I've spent the last five minutes trying to convince the WPT magazine reporter that Kevin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=235) O'Leary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=235) has 5 different giraffees rather than one that changes colour.

Before this encounter, Anthony Shields also doubled up through John Martinson. With Anthony pushing for around 11,000 from earlyish position, John Martinson counted out his stack and made the call. The action then folded around to Greg Hunt on the big blind who sighed before saying, "How many you got back?" Without too much hesitation, John confidently answered, "about 37,000". "Surely if you had a big hand, you would have pushed, put it all in," mused a puzzled Greg. "You might think that, yeah," replied John. "If I reraise, I think you pass," continued Greg. This time John didn't reply.

After sighing once more, Greg flipped over the Aspades and made the fold, allowing John to show Jd Jc, and Anthony Ahrt 8h. The 3c Ks 6s flop had Anthony rising from his seat and heading towards the door, but the Ac quickly lured him back, whilst the 3d river confirmed his survival. "Argh!" exclaimed a frustrated John, realsing that his foe had hit one of just two outs.

"I would have called if you'd pushed," said John to Greg.

Thunderdome update:

Trickett button raises to 4k, Gosney raises to 14k from the small blind. Terry Owens flats this and Trickett folds

Kc Kh 9c

Gosney quickly check/folds to a 16k bet from Owens.

Proof that Kevin O'Leary has multiple giraffees and not one that changes colours. "Mine's not changing colour" complains Surindar Sunar.

Jd Qd 5s

In an unraised pot, Roberto Romanello checks from the big blind, Dyfed Price bets and Stefan Raffay calls. Romanello now moves all-in for about 28k and tells Price, "Fold, you can't call... You may have the best hand, but I have the best draw... You can't call... I'm ahead... Fold... You're going to fold. You can't call with him behind you... Have you folded yet?... Come on..."

After about five minutes of this non-stop. Roberto calls a clock, and eventually Price folds with a second to go. Roberto goes to pick up his chips but the dealer points out Raffay is still in the hand.

"Oh, I'm not worried about him, he's folding, so can I take these chips? Come on, you can't call here. I know you're folding for sure."

Raffay makes the call with Ad 9d for his tournament life and Roberto shows 5d 5c for the flopped set. The Jh on turn knocks Raffay out of the tournament and the tabletalk of the Welsh-Italian Prohibition Chicago Thirties Gangster has won him another pot.

On what I believe was the very first hand back after the break, Victor (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1147) Kaye (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1147) found himself all in preflop against Roberto (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=376) Romanello (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=376) with Ac Qc versus Ad Kh. Although he was dominated, the Js Qh 3s 6d 4c board saved Victor and kept him alive, leaving Roberto to muse, "Happens, it's poker." Roberto now has around 55,000.

After going into the break in third place, Tony (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772) Cascarino (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772) has now leapt up to around 120,000, and thus second in chips, after eliminating a short-stacked Waseem Shahid. When I joined the action, the cards were on their backs with Tony's 5d 5d just pipping Waseem's Aspades Ks. In what was a bizarre flurry of table taps, the board came Ac (Tony taps) 8c (Tony taps) 5c (Tony taps), Qd (Waseem taps) Ad (Waseem taps). What exactly each tap of the table represented, I'm not sure, but either way, the dramatic board teased Waseem, but ultimately favoured Tony, and the former is out.

Tim Moreland   15000

Rob Sherwood sprung over to share a tale of woe. He's now down to 15,000 after calling a short-stack push of ten big blinds. "I had jacks in the blind, he had queens, and that was that. Same thing happened in Luton."

Meanwhile, Anthony Shields is heading in the opposing direction. He pushed 8,000 from the button with 3h 3d and was looked up by Ali Mallu's Ad 8s in the small blind. The 6c 6d 4c Jh 5c was enough to keep Anthony alive.

Finally, Tony Cascarino stack continues to blossom. He check called 9,500 and 18,000 on the flop and turn of a Ts 3c 6h 4s board before checking down the 3h river. Dennis Clough showed 8c 8h, but Tony took down the pot with Th 7h.

Double up for Tim Moreland's shortstack with kings against Roberto Romanello's A-Q. Similarly, Kevin Steward doubles with nines against Alli Mallu's A-K, as does Pippa Flanders against Lawrence Gosney in exactly the same circumstances.

The Alli Mallu one is most interesting, because the next hand, Sam Trickett raises to 4,300 only for Mallu next to him, to move all-in for 100k! A few stifled giggles from the rail but Sam folds and Mallu scoops.

Meanwhile Chaz Chattha and Ian Cox are tipping Tony Cascarino to be a dark horse in this event. "He's really improved over the last couple of months, the guy can really play."

Lawrence Gosney's stack has dwindled but he's doubled up with a typical Gosneyite hand. He called a raise from Dennis Clough and they saw a Qs 2c 3c flop where all the money went in.

Clough: Ahrt Ac

Gosney: Erm...Qd 3h

Gosney's hand held and he's way back over 100k once more.

Meanwhile Alli Mallu shows why he's the most infuriating player to play against.

Sam Trickett limp/calls a Mallu small blind raise.

Both checks the 7c Jh 8c flop. On the 8h turn, Mallu checks against and Trickett bets 10.5k. Mallu lets down the sledgehammer and moves all-in. I've never seem Sam looks so pained, he thinks about it for a good few minutes and eventually has the clock called him, folding a second before his hand is declared dead. Mallu proves why he's such a pain to play against...

I believe Floppy caught a couple of post-dinner exits, but apart from that, the pace has been rather lack lustre with the majority of hands being taken down preflop, often uncontested. There was a hand on one table where the streets were played, Tim Flander's 7,000 button raise being flat called by Lawrence Gosney in the small. On the 2c 5c Th flop, both players checked, before Lawrence insta-check-called a bet of 10,000 on the Aspades turn. A Jc river led to a pause from Lawrence, before leading out for 18,000. Sensing he may have been bashed on the head by the river, Tim made the call with Ac 2d, but was dismayed to see he'd been outdrawn by Lawrence's Qc 8c.

Whilst this hand put Lawrence back up to around 115,000 (Lord Gosney is up and down like a pogo stick today), an evidently disgruntled Tim was left with a paltry 13,500, made up solely of green 500 chips. This stack soon went in, not once, but twice in one round. First he snapped up the blinds with 9h 9s, before punishing Dennis Clough's small blind limp with a shove on the big blind. "I have a nice hand," claimed Dennis, but he always looked as though he was leaning towards the fold. "I try and play nice..." he concluded as his hand hit the muck. Meanwhile, Tim remained in generous mood, showing Ks Ts. "It's not a bad hand, suited too."

Yeah, Sam Trickett is out. Kevin O'Leary raised from the cutoff, Sam pushed from the button before Alli Mallu re-raised all-in from the big blind as Kevin got out of the way.

Sam: 8d 8c

Alli: Ahrt Kd

Ad 6d 6c 6s 3s

And the Luton champion is gone.

Rob Sherwood got up to 60k just before the break, mainly courtesy of a nice coup with aces against Surinder Sunar's kings in a button vs small blind battle.

"Surinder just flatted me preflop from the small blind, because I had enough chips to get away if he'd re-raised, he'd gone to get the maximum and was unlucky. Once the flop came down 10-high it all went in."

Surinder though has since doubled up himself with A-K against Justin Devonport's A-Q, while Pippa Flanders has eliminated Steve Higton in the same manner.

Finally, fitting into these AIPF battles, Kevin Steward has doubled through Alli Mallu with 7h 7d vs Aspades Jd

James Morgan raises to 8k from UTG, Tony Cascarino re-raises to 30k from midposition and everyone folds back to Morgan.

"Aww, this is so sick, I don't know if I can fold here. I'm going to bubble. Do you have aces?"

"No," says the footballer, "Do you have aces?"

Morgan waves into an imaginary camera and says, "Hi mum, I'm about to bubble."

He then moves all-in but Cascrino doesn't instantly call.

"So you don't have aces..."

But after about 10 seconds Cascarino does call with Qs Qh against Morgan's Ad Kd. The board bricks out and Morgan is eliminated but unrepentant, "I didn't just want to cash, I wanted to go for the money."

As the chips were being moved across to Cascarino's stack there's a yell from the table next door.

We look across and Greg Hunt is letting out a roar after his A-K held up to knock out Kevin Steward's A-Q, leaving us with 19 players left.

Stop! Bubbletime!

Just before these pre-bubble shennanigans, Sid Harris doubled up, getting lucky with Aspades 9h against Lawrence Gosney's Js Jc by spiking a third bullet on the flop to put him over 100k.

"That's as enthusiastic as I've ever seen him," observed Dena, and she's not wrong. It's not often you see someone as composed and level-headed as Rob Sherwood bang the table, but on this occasion, the adrenalin must have been flowing through his bloodstream like a Swiss bobsleigh team.

Raising it up preflop from the cut-off with Ahrt Qd, Rob found action from Dyfed Price in the big blind, and within seconds all the chips were in the middle.

With Dyfed tabling an inferior Aspades Td, Rob was in confident mood, but his joy soon turned to chagrin on the Kd Jd Qs flop. But the Qc turn gave the Mancunian some outs, one of which arrived on the dramatic Jh river.

Afterwards, Rob wore a Cheshire cat grin that would have taken a team of plastic surgeons to remove, whilst a stoic Dyfed just accepted that justice had been done  and simply began restructuring his now depleted 125,000 stack.

Rob, on the other hand, is up to 88,000, a figure which increased even further when he took the blinds from under the gun just a hand or two later.

whats the latest with jacko (roberto)?

cheers

We've reached the stage where a lot of the players are shoving either preflop, or on the flop if they have enough chips to journey that far. Roberto Romanello is one of these players, and he was last seen shoving for 65,000 into a 45,000 pot and a board of 3s 9c Jc 4h.

As soon as Terry Owens began to hesitate, the Welshman pounced. "I have an open ended straight flush draw," he claimed. "You've got a lot of cards to dodge." Terry remained silent. "Don't slowroll me whatever you do. If you got the jack just call."

In the end, his speech was in vain, as Terry never really looked convinced, and ultimately opted for the fold.

The bubble may not have burst, but the onlooking crowd are still being treated to a plethora of hot poker action. Most of the entertainment is in full view on the near table, and mostly involved short-stack Kevin O'Leary and Ali Mallu. In fact, their first encounter was one writhing in controversy as Ali revealed his cards prematurely thinking Kevin was all in. Kevin had slid a large chunk of his stack across the felt, but had left just a couple of thousand behind, of which went unnoticed by Ali who swiftly announced call and flipped over Ac 9s.

With the crowd swamping around the table, it was ruled, eventually, that Ali wasn't allowed to bet, and the dealer was urged to deal out the 2h 6h 4c. Kevin checked, and although Ali tried his very best to put the Londoner in, he was reminded that he had no choice but to check behind. The turn came a Kd, and Kevin checked again, before a 9h river triggered a chuckle from Kevin, and an ultimate fold.

On every hand, the players from the other two tables continually nestle towards the sole table still playing out a hand, their hands clasped in prayer as they will the bubble to burst. Unfortunately for Kevin, it was he who the masses want to fall, his shortstack going in on the very next hand.  With callers Ali Mallu and Terry Owens checking down a 5s 7h Qc 2d Js, the future looked bright for Kevin as he revealed a Kd Jc for second pair. Terry was the first man down, his 9d 9s close, but no cigar. Ali, meanwhile, was yet to look at his hand, and as he turned over a 5d, the drama heightened as Kevin held his breath. Ali teased his foe, but upon finally flipping over his second card, Kevin was relieved to see it was a lowly 3d.

"You were giving me a free slowroll there," observed Kevin and he raked in the pot.

Although he'd tripled up his stack, it wasn't long before Kevin was shoving once again, and like before, he left a little behind in the form of a single 100 chip. As with the hand prior, Kevin was going to need to topple two players, as both Ali (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=23) Mallu (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=23) and Greg (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) Hunt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) made the call.

On the 2s 5c Ts flop, Ali paused momentarily, before leading out for 5,500. Kevin didn't looked best pleased, perhaps hinting that he'd missed the flop. Greg (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) Hunt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) was equally disgruntled, and after mumbling under his breath, opted for the fold.

Incredibly, Ali once again began to reveal his hand before all the chips were in the middle, Kevin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=235) O'Leary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=235) highlighting the faux pas after Ali had revealed a Tc, but before he'd flipped over his second card. "He's done it again," laughed Kevin.

There was a brief moment of confusion while people tired to work out if Ali could bet, whether the 100 had to go in the middle, how many cards should be shown, and so on, but to save the organisers a multitude of headaches, Kevin rose from his seat, flung his sole remaining chip into the pot and turned over Ac Jd. In response, Ali flipped over his other card, which was the Kh.

As Kevin gathered his belongings in preparation to leave, the Poker Gods had their wicked way with Ali, dealing out a 4s turn and 3s river to keep Kevin alive with a devilish backdoor straight. At this point, Greg (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) Hunt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) rose from his seat fuming like petrol and roared, "Why did you bet? If you don't bet, I win, I had the five and the spade."

"Yeah, don't you understand how to collude," joked Kevin, clearly not approving of where the conversation was heading.

"It's standard practice to check it down," added Terry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=427) Owens (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=427).

"It's standard practice for Ali to do what he wants," replied Kevin.

Whilst Greg remained irate that he'd been bet out of the pot and the bubble had remained unburst, the clock ticked down and a twenty minute break began, which, judging by the tension building at the table, was probably for the best.

Double up for Kevin O'Leary.

He moved in from the button and Ali Mallu made the call from the small blind flipping Kc Th. Kevin O'Leary showed 3d 2d!

Ahrt 4d 3h 3c Jh board later though and O'Leary is still on life support but much more comfortable than some of his fellow pros.

Tim Flanders has also doubled up with 9-8 on an A-9-7 board against Lawrence Gosney's J-T. As has Gareth Jones with Queens against Dfyed Price's Ad Td.

After going down to just one chip (well, okay, it was mid-hand, but still...), Kevin O'Leary has somehow avoided the bubble as the tournament is finally whittled down to 18, and thus two tables. The unfortunate victim was instead Steve Craig. Pushing with 7h 7s, he was looked up by the Jd Th of Dennis Clough, but although the 5c Kh 8d 3h was kind, the Jc river was as mean as a bitter traffic warden. The far table is now being broken.

Justin Devonport has doubled up courtesy of Tim Flanders, Ac Qs versus Ad Jh on an uneventful Td 3c Ts 6h 7h board. Tim now low once again, but at least guaranteed of a pay.

Not sure of the numbers, so they're named after world-famous updaters...

Lawrence Gosney is OUT. Sid Harris the conqueror. Sid has since doubled up again with Aspades Th against Dominic Rossookh's pocket nines and seemingly running better than a Frankstein's monster-blend of Thewy and Usain Bolt.

Pippa Flanders, meanwhile is out. Ali Mallu raising once more and Pippa seemingly sick of it, went with Ac 8c, but the "Malluster" had 9c 9d and the Th 6s 2h 9h 5s sealed her doom.

Justin Devonport is also out pushing against Rob Sherwood's cut-off raise for not much more with 3d 3c only for Rob's cowboys Kc Kh to survive the shootout on the 8s 2c 2h Qd Td board. Rob also took a few chips of Sid Harris before then, button raising and then immediately announcing all-in after Sid led out on a Js 8h 2h board to which the latter quickly mucked. After a few near misses, could the Robster do it this time? Or is this the time of the Surindernator or the Mallu Express?

All in with Kc Jc versus the Aspades Jd of Tony (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772) Cascarino (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772), Tim flourished on a clinical Qd Ahrt Th 3h 4h board to increase his stack two fold.

Dyfed Price is out in 15th. He pushed his short-stack in under the gun for a rumoured 35,000, but was looked up by Sid (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) Harris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=396) in the small blind.

It's Christmas in the Sherwood house. Terrence Owens pushed on the button for 120k, but Sherwood woke up in the big blind with Ahrt Ad, dominating the Scouser's Kh 4h.

Rob put his hands on his head as the dealer dealt the flop saying, "If I lose this one now..."

He needn't have worried though, the board came out 4d 8h 6d 9d Td to give him the nut flush and suddenly Rob has shot into the join lead with Tony (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772) Cascarino (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772).

If they continue to drop at this pace, we could be done by midnight, Blackpudlian Gareth Jones becoming the next departee and hitting the deck in 13th. With circa 35,000 in chips, Gareth pushed under the gun with Ac Jh, but was called, albeit after a moment or two of deliberation, by Greg Hunt's Ts Th on the button. The 9s 7s 7c 2d 9d board had about as much excitement as a trip to the station with tikay, and The Nugget was gone.

I suppose when the action folds round to you in the small blind, you have every right to think you're opponent in the big can't call a push, but on this occasion, Dominic Rossookh's timing was wayward. Shoving his short stack with 6s 4h, Dominic was quickly looked up by the Aspades Th of Dennis Clough, before spiking a four on a Qc 3c 4c 8d 2s board to remain in the the comp.

Shoving his short stack with 6s 4h, Dominic was quickly looked up by the Aspades Th of Dennis Clough, before spiking a four on a Qc 3c 4c 8d 2s board to remain in the the comp.

Two hands later, Dennis himself pushed, this time from the button, but his raise went uncontested.

Like the door in the Big Lebowski, it can swing both ways.

The two above players see a blind vs blind flop of Jc 8c 6c where all the chips go in. Dominic looks to be in good shape with his Tc 5c but he's drawing to a miracle runner runner because Dennis has flopped a bigger flush with Qc 3c. Shockingly he can't catch a combination of the 7c with the 9c or 4c and Dennis Clough doubles through.

Meanwhile on the other table Roberto Romanello has knocked out shorty Mohammed Shoahebe with Ac Td vs Qs 9h, the board coming 4s 8s Ad 2s Qd to leave us with just 11 players left and the final table almost in sight.

Out in 12th is Dominic Rossookh. Playing in his first main event (I hear £300 was his next biggest buy-in), Dominic performed heroically to make it into the money, and subsequently the final two tables, but ultimately met his match in Tony Cascarino. With the action folding round to Tony in the small blind, the former international footballer made the inevitable shove before being called by Dominic in the big.

Dominic =Aspades 4h
Tony = 9c 9s
Board = 9h 4s 3s Kh 5h

Rob Sherwood has been stealing pretty much with impunity on his table, with no-one wanting to take him on. The occasion show of an ace to say, "No really, I only raise with very strong hands," seems to convince the other players that his raises are geunine and not at all blatant thievery.

On the other table, it's very akin to four players trying to negotiate an Ali Mallu minefield, as at any moment, he could just explode in your face. One hand, he just open shoved for about 250k causing much sighing and folding from the four other players.

Play now has actually finished for the day and all ten players will return tomorrow. It's a bit odd but we're now restarting once more at 2pm.

In which case it's time for that fork...
