Here we are refreshed and ready for duty. A few have already arrived filling the air with pleasantries and such before battle commences at 3pm. One cash game is underway mainly filled with Welsh gentry. We also have a TV crew setting up over the main table near the door, at the moment we are not too sure what they are here to film unless they heard about me looking after Dana's puppy and teasing him with his bone. If so they too got the wrong end of the stick. Anyway folks this lappy is so limited as to what I can do that I can not even post a smiley so sorry if posts appear a tad bland, but saying that thanks DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) for helping me out of a fix by letting me use one of there's, mucho appreciatedo. PS also doesn't have spell check. In other words, the clock is ticking and we're up and away.
Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2008, 03:11:17 PM Early action by Chris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) Bruce (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) sees him dominating play 2 out of the first 3 hands.
Sadler in seat 9 raises to 4 K on Bruce's button who re-raises Sadler shows an A and says " anyone but you Chris". Next after 2 limpers and a raise to 4k with both limpers calling. Chris pushes another big raise on an A high board to get both other players to fold and shows A Q. All in preflop Marcus had 9 9 with Mark showing A Q. The board saw no improvement for Mark and off he skanks to the rail. Alli Mallu has now been moved to Marcus's table so expect some good action soon. Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 03:23:27 PM Forget fifth gear, Rob Clark has excelled into sixth gear and continued in the same fashion that he ended last night with, playing with more aggression than the Incredible Hulk in heavy traffic and shoving at every opportunity. "Playing like yesterday?" observed big blind Chin Chai Koh as Clark pushed from the button. "I call," announced Koh.
Koh = Ad Js Clark = 7c 7s Board = 4d 5h 4c 3s 3h "He can't lose a coin flip," commented a short-stacked Marc (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) Goodwin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257). The first person to see his stack increase two fold was king of the short-stacks Pete Wigglesworth. With just 2,700 at the start of play, he found himself all in on the big blind with J-5 versus the small blind's K-T. A jack on the flop gave him a much deserved double through, but button Marc Bebb-Jones couldn't help but rue on missing out as he was forced off 9-8 and would have made a straight.
Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 03:31:35 PM Marc Goodwin isn't interested in waiting for aces, and rightly so as he is similarly low with 7,200. He pushed his short-stack all in from middle position with 4c 4h and was looked up by Bob Ballou in the big blind who tabled Qs 9d. "That was close," exhaled MrCool as the board came a butt-clenching Kh 3c Aspades Kc 3d.
Now in better spirits, Goodwin regaled me with a tale of woe from last night with a rye smile. "I pushed in blind one hand. This guy [Matt Russell] had A-2 and on the river, I turned over my cards. First I flipped over an ace, so I just needed a card bigger than a three to win the pot. I thought I had to win, until I turned over a three." Even after a night's rest, the table still seemed to be tickled pink by Marc's prior misfortunes. But he won this one, and is now back up to 15,000. As I reached for the phone and dialed the number for Record Breakers, I couldn't help but remain fixated on what I saw... are these the world's biggest onion rings ever?!?! You could hula hoop with these bad boys!
(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21900&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 03:39:26 PM I told you they were double mad here. Before I'd barely finished marvelling the onion rings, Pete Conduit pushed all in from middle position. Without too much hesitation, Rolf (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=727) Woods (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=727) made the call and tabled Ahrt 9s. Conduit had 9h 9d. A 5c 3h 8d Js 7s board later and like Johnny Five, Conduit was alive! ('Conduit Five is alive' doesn't quite have the same ring to it though).
On a sidenote, check out Mohammed Shoahebe tucking into those onion rings as if the government had announced a prohibition on food. They're so big, he can barely fit them in his mouth! Even Des (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) Jonas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=129) struggled to squeeze one in yesterday!!! "Why you taking a picture of Pete?" asked Dave Nisbet. "The onion rings are the real stars." Little did Nisbet know that the onion rings had played more than a supporting role in my shot. After raising with pocket 4's and then laying them down to an all in from Robert Ballou, leaving Marc with around the 8000 he then calls an all in push from early position mateyboy. No help for Marc's A Q against Pocket 10's. Also getting his chips all in after seeing a bit of preflop action was Matt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2115) Russell (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2115). Matt was seen to raise the pot preflop to 4000 receiving a flat call from Mr Bruce in the BB. Out pops 3c 4s 7d Check Check 6d Brucey boy bets out 9000 and Matt repops him to make it 18500 to go leaving Matt zilch. Bruce calls showing J J and Matt holds Ad Kd River shows the 5h. As Chris commiserates Matt the dealer announces spilt pot. CHOPERTY CHOP. "Yes!" exclaimed Wigglesworth with a clenched first as the river was dealt. Many eyebrows were raised. "Ah, sorry, thought I'd hit straight." Eyebrows returned to their natural position.
As I joked to Marcus (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1329) Bebb-Jones (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1329), you have to raise suspicions of chip passing when someone celebrates exiting the comp. Or maybe he simply had a last shorter bet with Roberts. Either way, here's Wigglesworth's assassin amid stack reconstruction. I didn't catch who bet when, what or how, but when push came to shove, the line-up was as follows:
James Mitchell = Ad Th Ian Lyons = Aspades 9h Terry Fletcher = 6c 6s Turn = 4c River = 5c "Straight!" pointed Fletcher who took the pot, although I felt he should have been taxed a few thousand for mis-announcing his hand. He found himself in piping hot water with Jh Tc versus the Kd Ks of Marcus Bebb-Jones. A 5d Qh 4d 6c 6s missed Heasman by a country mile and Bebb-Jones took both the pot and consequently the scalp. As the old saying goes, 'the rich get richer and the poor get knocked out.'
Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 04:11:43 PM I think someone touted Richard Kellett for success earlier in the thread. Well, they're either Mystic Meg or have stolen her crystal ball as the youngster now has over 100,000 and is your current chip leader. He eliminated two players in quick succession, one of whom was onion-ring muncher Mohammed Shoahebe. Shoahebe had his tournament life on the line with queens versus A-K, but a painful river on a 6-7-4-6-A board dashed any hopes of DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) glory and sent him home. "What goes around...," Dave Nisbet later said, referring to Shoahebe's last minute double through the night prior with jacks versus kings.

Luckily, he's a gent, and was more than accommodating in reporting his demise. Russell had all his chips in the middle with Tc Td in the end, and was given a spin by Ac Kc. The Jc Qc 7c wasn't the best, and the Ahrt turn and 2s river produced no miracles. "Did you have Tc?" I asked, trying to decipher if Evilpie held a cheeky straight flush draw. I did spot a bit of preflop action, however, one of which was Phil Clarke conceding his 6,000 to a reraise to 17,000 from Richard Kellett. Amusingly, Kellet boomed his reraise. "Don't think they heard you in Preston," joked his neghbour. "Aaaah, did I seeey tat loudleeeey?" asked Kellett in his broad Northern accent as he removed a headphone. "I got it on tut full blast." In the end, Clarke let it go, although reminded he was being pushed around by Kellett, and returned to nurturing his 20k stack. "Wanna see one?" asked Kellett before showing an ace.
A hand or two later, Daniel Ward button raised for 5,300, only for Dave Nisbet to push all in from the big blind for a total of 31,600. "Best hand I've seen..., claimed Nisbet, "... for four months." With the table giggling, Ward released his hand saying "I'll let you have it" in the process. It was probably for the best, as Nisbet showed pocket queens. Alli makes it 5k to go in late position. Jonathan Spinks flat calls along with the SB and BB. 3c 2d Js SB Checks BB Checks Ali Checks but the Jonathon makes it 8000 to stay in the pot. Both SB and BB fold but Alli pushes his mighty stack of 110k plus into the middle. After much thought it was begining to look like the bum clench moment had arrived for young Spinks but alas he folded. Good fold IMHO as Alli allowed him to see what Pocket Aces looked like. As a Qc hit the window, Nisbet couldn't help but go to turn away and sigh "I knew it," but his pivot was premature as the next card came the Ks followed by the Ad. I'd like to see Marcus take it down for no other reason than I shared a table with him in the £50 Sat night tourney at DTD when there a while back, top bloke, real gent, good luck sir. Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2008, 08:01:53 PM Our 11th place finisher was Tony Salmon.
Salmon raised 20k in late position to be re-raised all in by Daniel Ward. For around 50k. With not having enough behind him to fold Tony Salmon has to call showing Aspades 4s v Daniels 7c 7d Kh 4s 3d 2d Tc 10 remain glued to thier seats. I saw him raise 4 out of 5 hands not to be contended and taking blinds like candy from a baby. Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 08:07:26 PM With just one player to fall before we hit out final table, it's Jonathan Spinks who has been suffering the most heart bypasses. Down to 30,000 after his Ahrt 2d versus Ks Qs on an ensuing 6c Kc 4h Tc Jd board doubled Rob Clark through, Spinks pushed all in preflop a few hands later from late position. Marcus (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1329) Bebb-Jones (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1329) peeked down at the Ahrt on the big blind, then a 3s and announced "call", although I expect he was calling after just seeing the one. Joy for Spinks, however, as he hit trips with Kh 5h on a 9d 5s 6d Jh 5c board to stay alive and is now back up to 60,000.

gave him a stack of around 100k. Then it was back to Rolf to have another bash. Rolf raised 18k two off the button which was where Jonathan Spinks was sat waiting eagerly with Qc Qd and he wasn't letting Rolf in cheaply so he re-raised all in for another 61800. Seat 3: Daniel Ward -- 610,000 (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21980&g2_serialNumber=1) Seat 5: Terry Fletcher -- 335,000 (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21978&g2_serialNumber=1) Seat 9: Mark Roberts -- 235,000 (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21976&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 10:35:43 PM Terry Fletcher is touching felt (no, he doesn't need the toilet) after an incredible hand. Mark Roberts limped from the button, Daniel (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2259) Ward (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2259) made up the small blind and Fletcher checked his option in he big blind. On an 8h 2d Td flop, all hell broke loose as Fletcher check-raised all in and Roberts called!
Roberts = Ac Ad Fletcher = 8c 2c Turn = Th, River = 7s Ouch! (http://bunny999.up.seesaa.net/image/ouch.jpg) Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2008, 10:41:07 PM Terry Fletcher is out and becomes the 3rd place finisher winning £4,777
It is official I am no longer TheNun, I am THEJINX. Once again I returned to the table where play was down to three-handed and immediately we saw the elimination of Fletcher. With a depleted stack of 40k he pushed all in from the SB with 7c 4c finding Mark in the BB holding Ad 9h. The A high holds on a 2c 9s Jh Qc 5h and we are HU. Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2008, 10:55:04 PM Mark Roberts is out and becomes the 2nd place finisher winning £7,257
Three hands later and it's all over, no HU battling for these chaps. Mark Roberts calls up the SB but Daniel (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2259) Ward (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2259) was having none of that cheap flop nonsense and raised it another 18k. Mark, feeling lucky with nothing more than Ks Kh burning a hole in his palms can't wait to get it all in. Dan calls with Ad Qh Board = 6d 9d 2s Ahrt 3c Ward has his man covered by just a few thousand and it's good game, well played and off to the cash desk ready for the journey home. DANIEL WARD IS THE DTD MONTHLY FREEZEOUT CHAMPION FOR OCTOBER WINNING £12,390 (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21984&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: snoopy1239 on October 05, 2008, 11:00:49 PM And on that note, the fastest DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) monthly freezeout in history is done and dusted, with Daniel (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2259) Ward (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2259) triumphing in what was a whirlwind of a final table. Rarely did someone deliberate, Oscar it up or reuqest a clock, and all players were super aggressive to the point of almost every pot being met with a preflop raise.
All that's left is for me to thank The Nun for her outstanding debut, and husband Darren who provided an extra pair of eyes at key times during the rapid-fire final table. Of course, no update from Nottingham would be complete without giving a big thumbs up to everybody from Simon, Maggie, Nick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=310) Whiten (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=310) and all the DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) staff who make this such a wondeful place to work. Oh, and Ironside, I didn't forget you, so here's a special parting gift for everybody's favourtie Scottish gooseberry... (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21982&g2_serialNumber=1) Roast me a haddock, I'll be back for brunch. ;stickaforkinme; Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: George2Loose on October 05, 2008, 11:02:36 PM And of course, this all means that... Title: Re: DTD Monthly Freezeout Final Day - Interactive Post by: The_nun on October 06, 2008, 02:43:43 PM After a nervous start I settled in and did what I could to help Snoops, who I must say was most patient and helpful and very entertaining, THANKS Adam.x. It is a lot harder than one would imagine trying to keep up on stacks, table moves and hands. Trying to report exactly how hands commenced , suits etc and trying to get names right, along with the betting. All I could do with my inexperience was knuckle down and do my best. Not helping either was the small matter of my Laptop being poorly and using DTD's. I am now on my in laws, but hopefully should be back on line again this week. It was nice to have players coming up to me the next day thanking and congratulating me on the updates after they had been home and read them. Also nice to read the support on line. Thanks also to DTD's Simon and Maggie for continuously checking up on me. I winced when I saw an unlucky hand that you lost a lot of chips with and kinda regretted my post which wasn't really meant to be serious - shoulda put a smiley in. I still hate table thumping, from pot winners or pot losers, but apologies for any offence caused.
