Title: BlueSq.com GUKPT Thanet: Day 1A - Interactive
Post by: NoflopsHomer on October 15, 2008, 07:19:51 PM
"And in the blue corner, from parts unknowns..."

So if Thanet was in a wrestling match with the other GUKPT locations, I'm pretty sure that would be the first eight words of it's description. We're in Kent, (Has an International Airport dontchaknow?). Near Ramsgate (famous for the infamous sheep scandal), Margate (famous for the Andrew Marr scandal) and Westgate-On-Sea (famous for discovering wood can float) as well as Broadstairs, (the first place to accomodate the portlier class of people into getting to the first floor and above) and Cliffs Edge (...)

Thanet will surely be the unknown quality to this year's GUKPT, as in, unknown if anyone could find it on the map. Being scheduled against the Boylepoker Irish Poker Open that's going on this weekend across the sea, which is expected to get over 1,000 runners, this event may find it tough not being easy to travel to from anywhere other than London. And I make that latter point on the back of a 6 hour journey here from Leeds.

Thanet is this year's Plymouth, a new location albeit slightly out of the way, trying to make a name for itself and join a club that seems pretty elite with it's members.

Last month, Tony Cascarino was the winner, though helped when Ali Mallu pressed the 'implosion' switch rather than the 'explosion' one. But who'll be the first holder of the prestigious 'Thanet GUKPT winner' title?

You'll have to tune in from 2pm tomorrow to find out.

Which blondes are playing?

Will be following from the office tomorrow (unless work gets in the way, which is unlikely).

Ola - I would like to request some poker players - hoodied up - as it is not a poker tournament without some colourful and of course very tasteful hoodies on show! :)  I need to get some fashion tips for my next tournament ;)

Joy! I have finally had Vodafone Content Control removed from my internet dongle thingy and am thus able to update.

Welcome once again to sunny Thanet, where the G Casino has a Starbucks in the building, much to my delight. Play is starting any second, notable players spotted so far include Joe Grech, Alex Martin, Mr Nik Persuad and Snoopy. Photos of all coming up shortly...

'One hand Rumit' has lasted, erm...one hand.

It was a can you get away from Kings preflop hand.

Najam Qureshi raised to 175 preflop and Dave Barraclough reraised to 600, Rumit called the 600 from the big blind and now Qureshi reraised to 2,675 which Barraclough flat-called. Action back to Rumit and after a minutes thought he moved all-in. Qureshi called and Barraclough ended up folding his Qs Qc.

Rumit said as he saw his Kd Kc dominated by Ahrt Aspades, "It's ok, I have an off-peak return ticket, it's cheaper if I can get home by 4pm."

Could he have got away after the reraise and call to 2,675?

Julian Thew, seen here looking like he's very posh while sitting next to fellow EPT champ and Woodstock-from-Peanuts-lookalike Andreas Hoivold, has lost a hefty amount of his stack early on, betting 1,100 on the river of a 2d 9s 9d 7s 5s board and getting called by Martin Holmes. Thewy flipped Td 9h but was outkicked by his opponent's Kh 9c.

Alex 'AlexMartin' Martin. He came in as alternative after 3 hands which meant he had to pay an extra 75 chips and come in as the big blind...Obviously he's suffering from not having a cigarette in about 2 minutes...

Snoopy has picked up a small early pot, holding K-9 on an x-K-A-9-x board against Ash Patel's ace-something. In the most unbiased way possible, go Snoopy!

The action goes cautiously on the river of a 7s Td Kd 2d 8h board with Ian Woodley deciding to check behind with Ad Th which is good because 'River' Dave Penly wasn't going anywhere with 7h 7c. I think Woodley checked because Dave was going to shoot laser beams from his eyes at Woodley if the latter made anysort of bet.

Marc (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) Goodwin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) has picked up an impressively chunky pot for this early in the day and sitting at a table with no Rumits at it.

With around 500 in the pot by the 8h Jh 6d flop, he bet 500 and both Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=176) Woodley (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=176) and an unnamed limper folded. Henry Browne, however, a Luton regular and online qualifier for this, called.

The turn was the 3d and Browne checked. Goodwin announced 1k and Browne insta-called. With the 1k chip still in his hand, hovering over the felt, Goodwin said, "Can I put mine in first? I take it you're calling anything on the river."

Browne once more checked the 8s river and this time Goodwin bet 2k. As quickly as he called the bet on the turn, Browne passed. "Whew, thank God for that," said Goodwin and showed Qh 9h for the busted flush draw.

Joy, he folded!

"Oh my God look at Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) Colclough (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95), he looks like death warmed up. Mind you he always looks like that, but he looks worse today."

At full volume, to Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95) Colclough (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=95):

Steve Bovis is out, a victim of jacks vs queens.

Snoopy has continued with a good start, taking a chunk of Jerome Bradpiece's stack after both rivered a flush, albeit on a paired board. Snoopy's Aspades Ks outdoing Jerome's Ts 8s.

David Anderson has knocked out Daniel Wicks, Kings vs Jacks. People don't seem to be shy in getting their stacks in early today.

Jonathan Wong bet 2.6k on the river of a 3h 4s Qs Ac Kh board only to find Woody Deck raising all in to cover him. Wong squirmed for a while and the clock was called, and eventually Wong called too - only to find himself an early bustee. Woody turned over Jd Td for the straight, and it had all gone Wong for Jonathan as he got hit by the Deck - he mucked and exited, in that order.

You complete and unscrupulous thief! That was my line. Plus it doesn't make sense because when you get hit by the deck you have big hands, therefore it should have been Woody was hit by the Deck.

Damn you woman!

Julian Thew has doubled through Andreas Hoivold. Thewy check/raising a 600 bet to 1,700 on a Kd 3c 5c board and being set in by the Norwegian, Thewy was forced to call for the rest of his meagre stack with Kc Js and was pleasantly surprised to be ahead of 9c 8c. A clubless turn and river and he's up to about 9k, while Hoivold is down to around 4.5k

Jim Reid has doubled up through Tony Cascarino with Jd Js vs Ac Jc all in preflop. No 3-outer for last month's champion.

A fortunate double up for Mark (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1551) Friedman (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1551), all in preflop for 18,600 with Jd Jh against Woody (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=781) Deck (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=781)'s Aspades Ad.

Board: 6d 7s 6h Jc Qc

Deck: "So sick."

Mr Friedman, who had been standing ready to leave since the chips went in, sat back down. Mr Deck, who had been well above the 30k mark, sank back down to 15k and into bitter depression.

Jonathan McCann is OUT, getting it all in with Ac Kd and finding himself up against Nathan Lee's mighty, er, Aspades Ks.

Board: a spadetastic 3d 3s 9s Jd 7s

Most unlucky, except for Mr Lee.

Sam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1429) Trickett (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1429) is busto.

He'd given up after 3-betting A-8 vs Jerome (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=199) Bradpiece (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=199) when the latter called but then caught a Ad Qs 8s flop and proceeded to get it all-in against Jerome's Aspades Js. The Kh gave Bradpiece extra outs on the turn and Ks river  was enough to leave Trickett with around 400 left.

This all went in against Bradpiece with Qc Jc in good shape vs Js Ts but the Th was the first card out.

Jerome is less Droopy and more Perky now.

There's a min-raise to 300 and a call before Pete Singleton reraises to 1,300 from the cutoff leaving himself 3,400 behind. The button then pushes for just over 6,000 and it's passed back round Singleton who thinks for a moment before passing his Ac Kc face up, he's rewarded by the button showing Ad Ahrt.

James Akenhead has busted Paul Hardy, who moved in on the turn of a 4c 4d 9h Th board. Eventually Akenhead called, although he didn't really look like he wanted to, but he was rewarded by Hardy turning over Aspades 2s for more or less nothing at all, while Akenhead could boast the pair-licious 3s 9s. An irrelevant 5s on the river, and the chips were Akenhead's.

---------------

Similarly OUT is Andrew Wakerall, who got his chips in with 8c 6c on a 6s Ac Tc flop and failed to make his flush against Paul Mcintyre's Aspades 8s.

Meanwhile Nik Persaud has been enjoying some good fortune, betting out 2k on the river of 7d Aspades Th 7h 4s board with 5k in the pot already and less than 2k behind, and thus inducing a call from James Price. "Ace jack?" asked Nik sa he flipped over Tc Td for the full house. "Yes," said a dejected Price, and admitted that if Nik had shoved for his whole stack on the river, he would probably have folded. "i thought so," said Nik, "That's why I opted for the small gay raise." Good to know.

Small gay raiser:

Julian Thew is out, Aspades Kc on a Ac 8c 3c board against Jc Tc. No help and Yo-yo is off to the town of El Busto (which does actually exist in Spain, incidentally).

JJ Hazan is also out. Looked like Aces cracked by Tony Cascarino's Q-T.

Pete Singleton has doubled up with a set of fours on an eight-high board against Alex 'AlexMartin' Martin's A-8.

Among those who seem to have benefited from the sugar rush is Jerome "Hibernating Bear" Bradpiece. He has just doubled up, getting it in I believe on the turn of a 3h Tc 9c Kh 9h board holding Kd 9d against Martyn Robinson's Qs Qd. Jerome now up to around 20k and at liberty to resume hibernating, while the unfortunate Robinson is rather short.

Big call from Laurence Houghton looking at a 5s 2h Ks 5h 9c board after Efty Neocleous made a hefty large overbet on the river for Houghton's entire stack. Houghton called and Neocleous quickly folded but the former still had to show his hand. His Aspades 6h was good.

Speaking of big calls, David Wells made a sizeable bet on the river of a Kc 3c 2d 9d Kh board, Joe Grech called and Wells flipped a distinctly unpromising 4h 3h, saying after he turned over the cards, "I thought I had 5-4 and had missed!"

Even more bizarrely, Joe Grech mucked. Nice value bet sir.

Update requestaments from the casino staff concerning the below gentleman, Kiem Huynh, incidentally a sufferer of cerebral palsy so they identified him as "the guy in the wheelchair" (easy enough).

Anyway, Mr Huynh is still on around his starting stack. Most recently I saw him bet a mere 200 on a Qs 9h 2d Qh board, and then lay it down when Aaron Smith made it 800 to go.

Let us know any other requestaments you might have, by the way, and we will do our damnedest to find out their status. Probably after the dinner break at this rate.

For shame, poker players! There is a definite dearth of amazing hoodies here today and I am loath to declare Snoopy winner of Hoodie Of The Day as he'll never shut up about it, so I am reduced to awarding the title to Jeff Kimber, playing tomorrow. An excellent hoodie, though, I'm sure you will agree. Here it is in all its garish glory:

We're just restarting now after a Dana demolished a chicken in Nandos quicker than I've ever seen one disappear before.

Im stuck and work and VERY hungry, I could eat Half Chicken + 2 Sidelines in a whiff.

*Jealous of Dana*
P.s. WHOLE chicken? O_o

Chris Ferguson is OUT. Not that Chris Ferguson alas, otherwise I would put in some tasteless pun here, like Jesus Crucified or Jesus Nailed or Why Has The Board Forsaken Me or some such, but a different Chris Ferguson. Either way he is no more, check-raising all in to Jim Reid's 3k bet on a 5h 4d Tc with pocket Kings; Reid, holding Ts Td for top set, was only too happy to call.

Turn and river: a king-free Qd and Aspades

Cristiano Blanco is a bit short at the moment. He shoved his last 2k or so across the line on the turn of a 9c Qs 9h 2s 4d board, but got no callers and upped his meagre stack slightly to around 5k, still munching on a lollipop.

To Gab:

He says hi back, and he can't come to the party because even if he's short he's still going to be making final table.

Re. Nandos:

I recommend a half chicken, plenty of extra extra hot sauce on the side, and the ratatouille. Mmm.

Concerning the exit of Chirag Patel:

He open-shoved the Ac Ahrt Qd flop, and Matthew Mckinlay was only too delighted to call.

Patel: Ks Jh for a lacklustre straight draw
Mckinlay: Qs Qc for the made house

Turn: Th oh the cruelty, there's the straight but it's no good

River: an irrelevant 2s

Mickey Wernick is out, he bet 2,000 on the river of a Ahrt 3s 2h Jh Aspades board but was set in by Sami Yusuf, Mickey ended up putting his last 2,500 in but was shown Ad Js for his troubles.

"It's a sick game," said Mickey later, revealing he was holding a flush.

Cristiano has also drawn a Blanco. He unsuccessfully flipped jacks against A-Q with an ace on the turn sending the Italian back to London.

Sam Price, Martin Green and Chirag Patel are also all out.

I shall do, he's on a very tough table with Dave Colclough, James Akenhead and Jerome Bradpiece, but he is definitely holding his own. I saw him reraise James Akenhead preflop and make James lay it down. He's now up to 19.5k. Go, my 2%!

He opted for the chicken burger (he actually asked for the chicken pitta, but received the burger and was too hungry to complain) and fries at Nandos, and seemed to have slightly more than the average 15k when I was last in the cardroom. More detailed updates and hopefully terrible photos coming up shortly. :)

Btw I am taking this opportunity to apologise for the relative slowness of updating; I am experiencing a few technical difficulties here with the internet, grrr.

Mr Kiem Huynh is up to 21k after calling a 1.2k bet from Carl Limbert on the turn of a 5s 6d 3d 5c board, and then minimum-raising Limbert's 1.8k bet on the Kd river. Limbert called, and unhappily showed Ahrt Kh to Huynh's 6s 6c full house.

Double up for the GUKPT's form man, Nik Persaud. His jacks winning the raise against Martin Holmes Ac Qs, the sweat not nearly so tough after the first card out was the Js followed by Aspades 7h 2c 5h.

Meanwhile next to him, Andreas Hoivold has been doing well to recover after his earlier knockdown against Julian Thew, scooping up a pot having missed a big draw with Jc 9c on a 4c Qh 9s Tc x board, third pair was still good however though.

He's not a big fan of Thanet though.

A double up for Dan Joaquim, rising like a Phoenix (ahem) after going up against Faud Serhan's Qs Kd with 9h 9c.

Joaquim was rising to leave when the flop came down 5c Ks Kc, but sat right back down when the turn came the 9s. River unimportantly the 2h.

Mikey Tse has doubled up through Jim Reid with Kings against Tens.

El Blondie has also doubled up, a lucky escape with 6s 6c against Martyn Robinson's 8h 8c after the board came out 9h 7d 4h Td...8s

Colclough now up to around 12k.

Plays are on a short break, during which Alex Martin (47k) told me of a hand he won against Ian Woodley.

Woodley min-raised and Alex defended with Kd 9d. The flop came Ks-x-x and Alex check/called a flop bet before both players checked the Qs turn. On a blank, non-draw making river, Alex bet out 2,800 and Woodley raised to 9,600.

"His hand is either queens or air and he's going to have air a lot more of the time."

Alex called and Woodley mucked.

Mark Friedmann min-raises a 3,200 bet o 6,400 tand call on a 5c Th 3c 2s Kc that was called in both spots. Not too many eyebrows were raised when he flipped Ac Jc saying, "Can you beat the nuts?"

The real surprise was the fact that the overcall came from a player holding Qc 9c for the second nuts, which makes you wonder how much value Friedman could've extracted from this hand.

Recoverer Of The Day

Down to apparently just 300 chips not so long ago, Tim (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=433) Flanders (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=433) is now up to the heady sweet heights of around 30k, largely as a result of a massive triple-up, his nines up against queens and A-K, he spiked a nine to win a monster pot and put him above average for the first time today.

Doesn't he look happy?

Jason Evans doubled up on the last hand of the break, although he very nearly wandered into the night instead of coming back afterwards. He called all in to Kristoffer Huynh's (brother of Kiem) reraise, and found himself racing.

Huynh: 9d 9h
Evans: Ac Jc

Board: Qc 5s 7c 8s 9c

Evans seemed to think he'd lost at this point and attempted to leave without raking in the chips, until it was pointed out to him that he'd made a flush. "Phew," he said, clutching his heart, and went off to the break much happier.

River of the day

Spencer Lawrence raises to 1,500 from UTG and Dave Penly calls with 4-3. The flop turned up 6c 5h 4h and Dave check/raised what he felt was a weakish 1,800 bet to around 5,000. Lawrence then moved all-in for an additional 13,000 or so and Dave called thinking he needed to hit against an overpair. Lawrence though was holding Th 8h and behind to the pair, though Dave no doubt would've preferred to see the overpair as Lawrence would never be drawing dead on the turn with his flush draw and gutshot.

The turn put Lawrence in the driving seat with the Td, but the river was the 2d and Dave made his straight eliminated the WSOP triple finalist and going up to 60k himself.

Another doubler-upper is James Morgan, getting his chips in with 4c 6c on a 2s 6s 6d flop against Henry Browne's Ac 2c.

Turn: Qc
River: 4d

All is well until the table is broken before the next hand, when Morgan realises that he has been short-changed - it looks like the dealer counted one of Morgan's stacks of 500 chips as Browne's, and so Morgan's stack is around 5k short. I believe it was deemed too late to do anything about it though...

Bizarre hand goes against Marc Goodwin, he raises to 2,100 preflop. Bets 3,600 on a Qc 6h 4h flop and then 8,000 on an Ac turn before the river goes check check where he finds his opponent called him with Ad Jh on the flop.

'Exasperation' would probably best describe Marc Goodwin's mood.

Snoopy's table got broken and he moved to Goodwin's table sitting with Mark Friedman and James Akenhead. A superstitious beagle went and actually got his own chair from the table before and moved over to the new one...

Some More Chip Counts

Dave Penly: 60k
Jamie Brown: 33k
Snoopy: 18k

The three players below are all on Table Goodwin/Friedman and indeed that's where their chips seem to have come from - Mark Friedman is down to 60k and Marc Goodwin is down to 19k from his earlier 40k. Oops.

Jonathan Gale: 40k
Michael Moore (different Michael Moore, NOT he of Bowling For Columbine etc fame): 25k
D. Mitchell: 25k

Cheryl Pulver-ised

Too easy, that pun. Apologies.

Jerome Bradpiece made it some k from the cutoff and Cheryl went over the top of him from the button for another 4.2k. With some reluctance, but certain that he was priced in, Jerome called.

Jerome: 8c 6h
Cheryl: Kc Tc

Board: 6d Jh 4h 6s Qd

After Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) Hoivold (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) bets the turn of a 2s 7c 5h 6h board, Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=176) Woodley (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=176) makes the call and Nik (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) Persaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) passes. The river is the Aspades, and Hoivold checks with Woodley firing out a hefty 4,525 and says, "What you going to put me on now?" leaving the Norwegian looking perplexed. He thinks for ages before whispering, "Ahrt 7h...? So sick..."

Woodley has remained quietly and motionless for a couple of minutes but now calls for a clock. Dena comes over and tells Andreas he has one minute to make a decision for a significant portion of his chips and you can see the cogs are working as opposed to many players who 'Hollywood' it up these days when never looking like their calling.

"I can't put you on a hand," declares the former EPT Dortmund champion, but he still looks reluctant to push any more chips into the pot.

After about 15 seconds though, the decision is made and Hoivold, who looked like he was going to fold pretty much the whole time, decides instead to call. Woodley sinks back in his chair a little, "Good call," and proceeds to muck his cards. Hoivold turns over Qd 6c.

"It was a good bet," says Persaud sympathetically, "Not a weakish, silly 3.2k that I would've bet, but a full-on proper bet and there's a lot of hands you could have, I reallly thought you might have A-8 there."

Dave Colclough and Elliot Peterman made it as far the turn of a Ts Tc Qh 2h board before Colclough got his chips in - he check-raised all in to a 3.2k bet from Peterman. Colclough turned over Kh Qc, but Peterman was holding Td 6h, and the 2c river couldn't save El Blondie, who is now El Outie.

Devileyes pointlessly left in:

Shortly before the break, Mr James Akenhead made what would be his last move of the tournament. Michael Moore (NOT the Michael Moore of TV Nation and other provocative documentary works) limped in, as did Snoopy on the button. Akenhead then moved all in from the big blind, and most unexpectedly, Moore called. Less unexpectedly, Snoopy folded.

Moore: 9c 9d
Akenhead: the not-so-hot Qc 4c

Board: 2c 5s Jd Ks 9s

And he's a goner.

Matthew McKinlay is a goner. His Ahrt Td shoveaments were no match for Mikey Tse's Aspades Ac on a blankety blank board.

Martyn Bebb is also out, he couldn't beat Sami Yusuf's Kd Qd on a 6s Kc 9s flop with 7s 4s despite additional help on the 7h turn due to a blank river and then his A-9 was no match for Kiem Huynh's pocket eights.

Players are on a short break and they'll be playing one more level or down to two tables, whichever is quicker.

Oh dear, a most unfortunate occurrence for Harry Delahunt, resulting in him being OUT of this tournament.

He shoved under the gun, but apparently Andreas Hoivold didn't notice and attempted to raise to 3k in mid position. The floor was called over and it was ruled that he could either call for a few k more or fold and give up the bet he put in. He called.

Delahunt: Td Tc
Hoivold: "I have one overcard." Qh 8h

Board: 9h 3c Aspades Qd Jh

Poor Mr Delahunt, what a dreadful way to bust. Mr Hoivold was most apologetic.

Michael Moore is on a roll, he's just knocked out Marc Goodwin with 9c 9h against Ad Kd after the board came Ac Jh 4c 9d 8s. Probably will be the chip leader tonight the way he's going.

I suppose tomorrow a few of his friends in the stands will be asking him, while he dances combing his hair, "Tell me Moore, tell me Moore, did you get very far?"

Dreadfulness for Snoopy.

He's still in, but there are many possible worlds in which he is now sitting on a workable stack, while in this reality he is still on a very dangerous 14k or so.

Michael Moore made it 3.5k from the cutoff and Snoopy shoved for 13,425 from the small blind. After some brief deliberation, Moore called, and was dominated.

Moore: Aspades Qs
Snoopy: Ad Kh

Board: an incredibly exciting but ultimately split-a-licious Td Qh Jh 7h Kc

Bad luck, the Snoopster.

How are the last of the local boys doing, Pettman and Evans?

Stuck in Belfast when I should be home in Broadstairs.

Liam Pettman - around 40k last count, will check up on him.

Evans doesn't seem to be there any more, I'm afraid...

Hope Belfast is nice.

This level is the last one of the day and play is slowly drawing to a close, apart from a slightly non-soberish Nik Persaud, who providing much entertainment alongside Ian Woodley, the latter desperate to double up or disappear. Dana is just grabbing the last few bits of information as I type.

Some last-minute craziness from Mr Woodley, determined not to come back for Day 2 with a short stack.

He went all in, claiming he'd only looked at the one card. Michael Moore called and turned over Tc Ts, but Woodley asked if he could wait until the board had been dealt before turning over his hand. Dena attempted to protest, but Moore didn't mind so they proceeded that way.

Board: 7c Kh Ks 9s Th

Woodley turns over...

...Busted Ad Ahrt. Ouch. Out he goes, to the delightful soundtrack of some sort of unintelligible rubdown from Nik (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) Persaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314).

Thus ends our fun-filled Day 1a.

Our remaining players have slowly degenerated from this:

...into this:

...and therefore it's in everyone's interest if they go home and get some sleep before returning for Day 2 on Saturday. No rest for the updaters, though - chip counts should be up on here in the next couple of hours, as well as our tournament report on the William Hill site, and we will be back at the G Casino Thanet tomorrow at 2pm to see how our Day 1B-ers fare. See you then!

Joy! I have finally had Vodafone Content Control removed from my internet dongle thingy and am thus able to update.

I feel your pain, I went two weeks in the summer with this content lock on my dongle.

Couldn't get onto poker sites, yes, that was my trouble.  ;whistle;

Thank you, Dana.
