Imagine, if you will, Ted Lowe saying this in his trademark gravelly voice:

Here we are, at the G Casino, Blackpool. The players have been called over to the tables (twice, the second time a little more agressively) and are currently undertaking the debagging, recounting, and restacking process. Currently joining us on the sidelines is Red-Dog, not playing today, but "chewing the fat" as he put it, although he won't be doing that for long as he's on a diet.

Play due to recommence soon.

Actually only 89 players have started today, as astute (or anal) counters of runners will have noticed.

Dan Hook has doubled up against Jason Shellum with A-J vs T-T. Hook, Line and Sinker puns coming later.

Gary Fisher has doubled through Alan Dean with A-K vs A-J.

First man out today is Alan Dean, and he was closely followed by Peter Jidne. With fellow short-stack Layne Newport pushing in preflop, Jidne shoved himself just one seat down. "You're in front," announced Newport dejectedly as he revealed Js 9h. Jidne showed an ahead, but vulnerable Ahrt Kc. The 7s 8d 8h flop added a few outs, one of which emerged on the Th turn. "That'll do," said Newport as he banged the table. An academic 7h later and Jidne was gone, silently, but wearing an expression that clearly showed his disappointment.

After a good night's sleep, fresh fingers are always looking to push on the opening level of a Day 2, but not so today. There have been a couple of exits, but big hands have been unexpectedly few and far between. I did spot Pippa Flanders and William Martin clashing early doors. It wasn't a gargantuan pot, but big enough to see Flanders lead out for 20,000 on a 9c Jh 3d Aspades board. Martin folded reluctantly, and will have been relieved to have seen Flanders show A-J.

Jake Cody, who could easily be mistaken for a Scandie online pro with his trendy attire and swanky hair do, has just doubled up his starting stack. He was all in with kings v A-T and survived a ten high board.

The most intriguing hand I've witnessed thus far came courtesy of Jason Trey and hotly tipped Stuart Rutter. It all seemed relatively standard up until the river, Trey defending his big blind before checking down a 7d Jc 8c 5d board. On the 3d river, however, Trey opted to check-raise Rutter's bet of 11,000 to 29,600 all-in, subsequently leading to Rutter flailing his arms about in the air and sighing frustratedly.

"Ace king of diamonds then?" inquired the Old Edwardian. "I can only beat a bluff."

The verbal ambush didn't cease there though, as Rutter continued to probe his foe with more questions than an entire series of Parkinson.

"Will you show if I pass?" he continued. "I've got a made hand. I put you on ace king all the way, so it must be ace king of diamonds. It doesn't matter what I've got, he's either got the flush or nothing."

Sadly for Rutter, it was the latter, as upon passing, he was swiftly shown Aspades 9d.

"I had a set of fives," claimed Rutter.

"Set of fives?" responded Trey in shock. "I couldn't have passed that."

Nevertheless, a brave Trey survived, smugly so, whilst Rutter was left to wallow in what was the most disgruntled and infuriated of expressions.

Crikey, they're dropping like Ramones here and disappearing quicker than your belief during a season of 24.

There's a raise from UTG to 3.3k, Tom Middleton makes it 8.8k. Harprit Gurnham pushes all-in, Suzanne Pyefinch pushes all-in. UTG agonises and folds, Middleton folds.

Gurnham: Qd Qh
Pyefinch: Aspades Ad

3c 3h 4c Kd 2d

Gurnham is crippled and his remaining few chips go in, and then to a cleanly shaved Sunny Chattha.

Stuart Rutter -- "35k and I don't deserve to be here."

Jon Heath has knocked out his friend Fionn Macnamara. Jacks against Fours.

Bizarre hand we heard from Peter from BlueSquare. Marc Goodwin playing a 115k stack apparently made a standard UTG raise for the 600/1200 level, passed to Martyn Cavanagh in the small blind who apparently moved all-in for 50,000. Marc snap-called.

Marc Goodwin: A-T
Martyn Cavanagh: K-K

A board devoid of aces puts the Welshman on 100k now.

As I was penning my last reports, there was a funny off-the-table incident involving Liverpool's Matty McHillenny (I apologise for any misspellings). As Matty came over to chat with AWOP's Phil, he placed his glass on the bin, thinking it was a table, only for it to go straight through and smash at the bottom. He tried to pretend it didn't happen, but Phil cottoned on and highlighted his error, much to his own personal delight, to the rest of the press room.

Here's Matty remaining cucumber cool under pressure.

Runner up in last year's Grand Final, Sami Yusef, has doubled through Kevin McNally. Didn't catch the hand details, but 16,700 left McNally's stack to leave him with just several thousand and an expression like a firmly smacked bottom.

I heard it on the grapevine that James Akenhead is out. Guy Johnson moved all-in on the river of a 2-3-J-Q-Q board and James called and looked very annoyed when Johnson showed J-7, we're guessing Akenhead had J-3 or J-2 and got counterfeited on the end.

Sickdog! What happened?

Recent GCBPT Liverpool champion Zachary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2249) Ford (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2249) is running so hot at the moment that you could fry and egg on his forehead, and today seems to be no different. He was already big chip leader heading into Day 2, and now he's enjoying even more good fortune having taken the scalp of neighbour Mr M Boy. It was Gregory (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) Howard (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2235) who opened the action, his raise from the cut-off being reraised by Zachary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2249) Ford (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2249), and then Mateyboy who pushed all in for not too much more. Howard quickly folded, but Ford was less hospitable, mainly because it was so little to call. Meeting expectations, Ford did indeed call, and was forced to reveal a rather eye-opening Ks 6c. Mateyboy had Ad Qd. Although ahead, he didn't look confident, and after a clinical 6h 6d 9c 7h 5s board, Mateyboy was gone. "You had to call," agreed the table in unison as Ford scooped the pot.

(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=22901&g2_serialNumber=1)

The scores on the board for Mr Ford are approximately 150,000.

With 67 players of the original 341, the action is hurtling at the pace of a lard encrusted snail at the moment as we near the end of the 800/1,600 level. Very little in the way of big hands, and fewer exits than expected. I did catch sight of one all in, however, Barry Grime doubling up an unknown player pictured below with Jd Td versus Qs 2s. I'm not sure when the wonga went in, but with the board reading 9h 8s 2c Js 4s, it looks nasty either way.

Chris Sokrati is out, Ad Jh vs Richard Ellis' Aspades Kh on a Ts 4c 5s 4h 3c board.

Michael Denton has busted Stephen Morris who had to dance his way to the rail after his threes ran into kings.

Matthew Buckland raises to 3,700 and Andreas Hoivold calls, it's passed to Stuart Rutter in the blinds who repops to 13,000 with only about 9,000 behind. Squeeze works and Rutter tries to get out of the rut.

Bryan Clarke has doubled through Tom Middleton with Ad Kd vs Ahrt Qh despite the flop coming 3h 2h Jd. The 5c turn added chop possiblities and the 2s on the river allowed Clarke to say, "I nearly shat myself when I saw that flop..."

If our source is correct, this chap is Alex McElhatton, currently on the dizzy nose-bleed inducing heights of 87,000.

Martyn is currently distracted by a combination of the Racing Post and the horse race taking place on the plasma screen, but I'll pass on the message when he's escaped his trance.

Zippy Aslam raises to 4,200 from early position and Martyn Cavanagh makes the call from the big blind after checking Zippy's stack.

Jh 4h 3d

Martyn checks, Zippy bets 5k, Martyn sets him in, Zippy starts to tank.

"I've always been taught to respect the check/raise, but I really think you're making a move. I just don't believe you've got anything. He rechecks his cards, which always means a player is folding. Zippy shows 7d 7h and mucks, Martyn shows 6d 5c and Zippy smacks his hand on the table, letting out a sigh of frustration...

"I knew I should've called."

Incidentally, dinner break will be taken at the end of this level because the restaurant is booked out for a party from 7pm.

Tom Middleton is out.

Sunny Chattha raised to 5,600. Middleton moved in for 13,900 from the small blind. John Marles flat-called from the big as did Sunny.

6h Qc 6s

Check check.

4h

Marles now moves in, Sunny folds. Marles shows Tens, Sunny puts his hand on his head saying he folded Jacks. Middleton shows A-9 and misses on the river. Marles scoops the 40k pot and Sunny is left saying, "I should've moved in preflop..."

Gary Buckland is out, captured below in coat-grabbing mode. His assassin was Gary Fisher, who has been on quite the surge of late. Fisher raised it up to 8,000 from latish position with Kc Ts before calling Buckland's big blind push of 23,500 total with Ac Qs. The 8c Js 7d Ks 7c board favoured Fisher though, who is now on circa 90,000 as a result.

I joined the action with the board reading Kc Qc Ahrt 2d, and Leon (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1871) Campbell (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1871) facing a bet of 9,500 from Midlander Darren (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=88) Grosvenor (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=88). Campbell seemed wary, but put his man all in nevertheless. Grosvenor called with Jh Th, Campbell showed Ad Qh. "Aaaah, thought you might have me," he confessed. "Was thinking you could have a set."

"I need an ace," observed Campbell prior to the river, but like my fantasy of courting Angelina Jolie, it just wasn't to be, the final card coming 9c and sealing the deal for Grosvenor.

Campbell now down to 10-15,000.

Not too much to report of late, although there were a few minor hands...

(1) Damian Evans pushed all in on a 9s 5h Ks 9c board for 23,800. Marc Goodwin reluctantly folded Ts Td.

Goodwin = 90,000
Evan = 56,000

(2) On a 2c 3d 8s flop, Sami Yusef checked, Gary Chatterton bet 5,000, Yusef made it 15,000 and Chatterton folded.

Chatterton = 57,000
Yusef = 85,000

(3) Zahir Aslam raised it up preflop to 5,500 only for Eddie Lundon to push all in from the big blind. Aslam let it go.

Aslam = 24,000
Lundon = 55,000

(4) The action folded round to Andy Warnes who made it a total of 5,000 to play from the small blind. Big blind Alan Armitage made the call. Armes then check-folded to a bet of 6,500 on the 7d Ks Ac flop.

Armitage = 115,000
Armes = 17,500

Just prior to the dinner break, Alan Vinson survived an all in, pushing for 23,600 on a 5s 6h 2s. He now has around 70,000.

Also all in on the final hand was Nicky Romanello. He picked up the blinds uncontested and headed towards the free buffet with 30,000.

One man who went into the dinner break with a smile as wide as the M1 (well, when they finish the bloody thing) was Al Armitage. He wasn't gleaming because he possesses a secret passion for chili, but because he's now on 120,000 after flourishing in the final pre-break level. Although he eliminated a short-stack with A-8 versus A-Q (Armitage made it 7,000, Mateyboy pushed for 15,000), his main score came against Ali Mallu. "He'd been raising virtually every hand, so I shoved it in with A-T. He had pocket jacks, but I hit an ace."

He pushed all in preflop with Qc 9c, but was looked up by Mohammed (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2648) Shoahebe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2648) who held Ac Kd in the small blind. The 8s 2d 8c 4s 3h board was about as useful as a glass hammer and Denton was done. Meanwhile, Shoahebe appears to have amassed a monster stack that could contend with near neighbour and fellow big-stacker Anreas Hoivold.

And here is that recent victor. As a result of the scalp, Mohammed (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2648) Shoahebe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2648) is now your new chip leader with 190,000, although he should keep a keener eye on his chips as there seems to be a tea-leaf in our midst. My theory is that it's an unforgiving Michael (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1874) Denton (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1874) trying to sneak back into the game.

Driving Him Round the Bend

Brian Martin has doubled up courtesy of Zachary Ford. Martin made his move preflop for 14,100, and Ford took a shot with Ac 9d in the big bind. Martin meekly revealed Qd 6c, which hit straight off the bat on a Qh 3h 3d 5d Jd board.

The Patience of a Saint

There are three players in particular today who have witnessed more grinding than Tony Hawks on speed, and they are:

(1) Pete Singleton -- started with 16,225, now on 19,500.

"Just keep putting "still in the shit' for my reports."

(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=22965&g2_serialNumber=1)

(2) 'Zippy' Zahir Aslam -- started with 61,050, now on 19,000.

Had a turbulent start, and has been grinding ever since.

(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=22959&g2_serialNumber=1)

(3) Thomas Saint -- started with 21,675, now on 25,500

I'm not surprised he's still in, I'd be too scare to knock him out.

Well, they say you have to win your coin-flips, and never was that more evident when Alex McElhatton and John Heath got it all in preflop with Ahrt Kd and 9h 9s respectively. The pot was around the 175,000 mark, so was rather important, and ultimately favoured Heath. The 7h 2c 3s 5c 3c board improved neither player's hand and McElhatton (sounds like a Scottish/Spanish boxer) was McKO-ed and out for the count.

Marc Goodwin is the latest to fall. Second in chips at the start of the day, but no good now as his Ace King lost out to Zachary Ford's Jacks after another knave spiked the board. Ford has about 220k now, just ahead of Andreas Hoivold with 210k.

Empty twirl wrappers are the only thing left to remind us of Mr Cool.

(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=22969&g2_serialNumber=1)

Suzanne Pyefinch has doubled up Robert Gillion, it all went in on a T-5-2 flop. Gillon's Jacks holding vs her K-Q. Gillon up to about 35k, not that much with the blinds just going 1.5k/3k now.

So soon after he'd taken the chip lead, Mohammed (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2648) Shoahebe (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2648) finds himself taken down a peg or two following a clash with neighbour Gary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=147) Chatterton (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=147). Shoahebe started the action, raising it up to 7,000 preflop. Chatterton, donning 90's track-suit (how did he get in dressed as an Olympian?!), made it 17,000 and Shoahebe called. On the Kc Ts Qd flop, Shoahebe led for 20,000, Chatterton announced all-in and Shoahebe insta-called.

On their backs...

Shoahebe = Ks Qc
Chatterton = Ac Ahrt

Upon seeing what he was up against, Chatterton swiftly rose from his seat like a jack-in-the-box but before he'd barely straightened his back, slumped back down due to the...

Turn = Jd

Shoahebe had outs, but nothing emerged on the...

River = 8d

Paul Bracken, last year's champion has been knocked out just before the money. He wasn't too despondent, or if he was, he didn't show it. But he was the last remaining former champion in the event, meaning we'll been having a brand new champion whatever happens.

'Gregior' Gregory Howard has been short stacked all day but had gradually ground out an almost-comfort zone, but now he's back on the precariously balanced ledge.

Raising to 8,500 preflop he received one caller and then bet 13,500 on a Qh Tc 6s only to be met by an instant all-in from his opponent. Gregior let out an immediate sigh and folded, preserving his remaining 28k or so.

I've waited all day for this, but finally I can report news of a big pot...

(http://www.cannabis-pictures.com/male%20cannabis%20plant%20picture.jpg)

No, I'm talking a LOT of pot...

(http://listverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/42128524-cannabis-pa416-tm.jpg)

Are you not listening, this was a pot of gargantuan proportions. In fact there was so much pot here that you'd need a stick the length of Blackpool to wave at it...

(http://www.geopium.org/Photos/Maroc_Rif2005/Culture-Cultivation/Cannabis_Champs_Field2.jpg)

Yes, that's more like it, and it was of such a mammoth pot that it saw not one, not two, but three people shove all their chips across the line. It was Andreas Hoivold who ignited the firework, his preflop raise of 7,700 leading to an all-in from Eddie Lundon on the button followed by a second all-in from Alan Trueick in the big blind. After twitching in his seat awkwardly, Hoivold shrugged his shoulders and announced call.

Hoivold = Qs Qh
Alan Trueick = Jc Js
Eddie Lundon = Ahrt Ks

No messing around on this board...

Kd Th 7c 8s 6d

... and a 200,000 pot goes sailing over to Lundon.

Fist Pump Shove News!!!!

We don't see often enough, but news of a fully pumped fist pump shove!!

Andreas Hoivold raised to 7.7k from the cut-off and Norman Levitt made the call on the button. Paul McIntyre, who finalled Thanet last month, immediately moved all his chips into the middle slamming them down on the felt before standing up and counting out his 45.6k. Hoivold folded, and immediately the young Scouser sat down, sure that Levitt wouldn't call and that he was comfortable now. Levitt whispered, "I'm no good at coinflips," and folded. McIntyre showed A-K.

Here are all the players in the middle of the action posing for a model catalogue.

It appears as though Eddie Lundon (pictured below) has taken a hit since the previously reported three-way dance. Lundon now has 140,000. Similarly sliding downwards is Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) Hoivold (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467), who although still comfortable, has slipped to 150,000.

Nicky Romanello, who seems to have better timing than Big Ben, has found the bullets just in time for a double through. With Guy Johnson making it 9,000 preflop, Romanello pushed for 21,600 and Johnson made the inevitable call.

Romanello = Ac Ad
Johnson = Aspades 7h

Board = about as harmless as it gets... 3h 6c Jd Kd Jh

Just as I was typing this, Romanello appeared over my shoulder. My knee-jerk reaction was to quickly scan through my post to check if I had been complimentary, and then open up another tab if I hadn't. Fortunately, my conscience was clean. "I was down to 8,000 before," added Romanello. "I lost a pot with A-K then trebled up. I'm on 45,000 now."

Neil Greenhalgh has just been eliminated by Jason Shellum. He was wounded from a failed A-Q/jacks coin-flip with Brian Martin, but his remaining stack went all in with Aspades 6c against the 7h 6s of Shellum. The Ts 8h Td gave Shellum four extra outs, one of which emerged on the 9h turn. A 5s river later and Greenhaigh was gone.

Alan Armitage has endured a "nightmare since dinner", slipping down to 53,000. However, he did just pick up a few quick chips, pushing all in preflop after Pippa Flanders had limped in the seat prior. Both blinds and Flanders folded, and Armitage picked up the pot uncontested.

Gregior shoves over the top of a 13.5k raise for 29.8k more against John Marles, but Gregior wasn't Marles ahead. Both in fact had A-Q and chopped the pot.

Two relieved fellows.

Speaking of relieved. The lone German, Herbert Kasbauer, in the field just doubled up with Ad 9s against Andreas Hoivold's 6c 5c. An ace on the flop followed by two queens meant there was no real way back, and the mini-German rail (one guy) went mad.

Gregior has doubled up with 7-7 vs Gary Chatterton's A-K, both caught their cards on the flop but that was bad news for Chatterton, who was drawing dead by the turn. Gregior on almost 100k and soon after putting on the squeeze, reraising a midposition raise getting one player to release Ac Qc which caused a few sighs from some of the other players.

Soon after Guy Johnson raised to 11.2k from late position, Sunny Chattha reraised to 31.6k causing more huffing and puffing and A-Q folding face up. Sunny showed 9c 3s. Points deducted for the show imo.

Forever on the prowl and searching intrepidly for an opportunity to make an extra buck, Neil Channing was last spotted scouring the cardroom offering players "bubble insurance". "Get your £250 ready," said Channing to short-stack William Martin. "You might need it." Not content to ambush just one table, Channing ensured that all players were given what he described as a "once in a lifetime opportunity". "You should take some," Channing claimed as he lurked over the shoulder of Darren Grosvenor. "You're in the shit." Although a few players perked up suddenly and took at least a smidgen of interest (note Alan Vinson and Waseem Shahid), it's looking bleak for Channing's new business in the Bubble industry. "I need eight people," commented Channing. "If I get less, then I have to hope that something unusual happens on the bubble. I like a gamble."

Andreas Hoivold who slipped to about 80k has doubled up after 4-bet shoving K-Q vs Norman Levitt who eventually made the call with A-T. A King on the turn was enough for the Norwegian to get him back into the hunt.

I've gotta say great updates as usual however I'm most disappointed in the Beagle.........................

Where's the norkage????

You have the internet and you're looking for hot women in a poker room full of sweaty old men in Blackpool...

It's traditional for Blonde updates to include norkage, however given that it's Blackpool we shouldn't really expect too much on the norkage front.

BRB..........hold the updates whilst I scan the flicks on redtube.

With Jason Shellum making it 13,500 to go, Pippa Flanders announced "raise" from the big blind and added "all-in" to send the ball back into Shellum's side of the court. It would appear as though Flanders has a solid image, as it took Shellum a good while before finally making the call for 47,000 with Ac Kc. "Come on!" exclaimed Shellum as Flanders revealed an inferior Kh Js.

The 8d 4d 9d flop looked harmless enough, but the 7d turn produced possibilities of a split pot, which duly arrived on the Td river. Shellum was understandably frustrated, and momentarily hurried away from the table before regaining his composure and returning to the felt. Lots of action, but no change in the chips.

Poor old Jason (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1513) Shellum (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1513). It's not his day. Short stacked Brian Martin pushed from the button and Shellum called off a good chunk of his stack with Ac 9c from the small blind. A good call as Martin had his hands in the cookie jar with 9s 6d but the Poker Gods really hate Jason today, perhaps he forgot to invite them to a dinner party or didn't get his round in as a Six was pinged on the turn leaving Jason despondent.

Welshman Nicky Romanello is out in 35th place. He was short stacked and pushed with Ad Qh against Sunny Chattha's Kd 8d. Chattha caught the best of it on a 5h Kh 3d 4s 7c board to push him to almost 180k and leave Karolina the massage girl with no-one to put her hands on. (Awaits bawdy remarks)

Waseem Shahid has just doubled up Thomas Saint with J-T suited versus pocket queens on a king high. Meanwhile, on a neighbouring table, Sunny Chattha was in similarly doubling mood, his pocket eights failing to out-gun Gary Chatterton's 9-3 on a T-T9 rainbow flop, Chatterton making a boat with a nine on the river. He's now on around 70,000.

Just moments before the bubble burst, an absolutely mammoth of a pot took place on the far table between Jon Heath and Alan Vinson. I only caught the very end of the hand, but Vinson was all in with Qc Qh against Heath's Kh 2h with the board coming an uneventful 8h Ac 3c 6d 6s. Now, at first glance, this may have looked a simple case of, "Ah, well, I guess he made a move and got caught", but whilst that is obviously true, it's important to note that this was a 400,000 pot and one that has given Vinson the chip lead.

Moments after Darren Grosvenor was eliminated in 33rd place, we lost Heath who was so short that he was called blind. "I fucked up."

Floppy may have further details, but a disgruntled Alan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=14) Armitage (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=14) has just joined me at the lappie to share his tale of woe. According to the man from Halifax, Pippa (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=352) Flanders (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=352) made it 20,000 with Q-J, Armitage pushed for what he said was 80,000 (although others seem to be informing me he had much less) with A-A and Damian Evans called with Q-Q. Flanders passed face-up (although, again, rumour has it she called and exited on the hand) and Armitage revealed his aces. Although a country mile ahead, the case queen hit the flop to knock Armitage out.

Thomas Saint and Gregior are both out, the latter losing with A-T to Sunny Chattha's K-Q.

Darren Hickman raises to 18k with about 45k behind and Paul McIntyre moves all-in for 90k. Hickman tanks for about a minute or so before making the call and McIntyre flips Ac Jh with a look that suggests he thinks he's in a race. Hickman flips over Qc Qh and the board runs out 9d 7s 6c 5d Kd.

Someone says quietly, "Well that's the most unintentional slowroll ever..."

The Scouse brigade that support Paul look a bit disheartened.

Paul McIntrye doubles through... just. He was all in with Tc 9c against the 5s 5d of Brian Martin with an ensuing board of 7h Qc Jd 3s... 9h. Martin is down to 50,000, and McIntrye isn't fairing too much better with 55,000, but nonetheless relieved to still be alive.

Hoivold checks, Levitt bet 27k and Hoivold moved all-in. Levitt then called off his stack with 5h 5d and Hoivold flipped Ts 9s which held strong to put him  as the chip leader once more.

(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=23037&g2_serialNumber=1)

Sunny (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=423) Chattha (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=423) is smarting going into the break. He raised a limper and then one the blinds called before the limper also did.

Qd 2d 3d

The small blind pushed and the limper shoved behind for about 70k. Sunny flashed Ac Aspades and threw it into the muck.

Small blind: 7d 6h
Limper: Ks Qh

Bricks came on the turn and river and Sunny was left rueing his decision, he still has 300k though.

The last and maybe only German ever in the comp Herbert Kasbauer has just knocked out Ian Whalley with Kings vs A-Q on a Q-high board.

With William Martin exiting in 22nd place, it's Gary Fisher who snaps up 21st. Martyn Cavanagh was the sniper, targeting his man with Ahrt Qd versus Js Jc and firing two bullets on an Ac Ad 3c Kh Kc board. Chip counts to follow...

Eddie Lundon -- 234k

Paul McIntyre has just doubled up through through Damian Evans with Ac Ad vs 5h 5d, a timely boost as he was only on 70k or so. A non-threatening Th Jd 7s 4s Aspades sending the Scousers over the moon. Can he make back-to-back finals?

Martyn Cavanagh made it 26,000 from UTG only for Eddie Luddon to bump it up to 64,000 from the next seat along. Cavanagh made the call, and the two players proceeded to cautiously check down a 7c 9c 2s Qd 5d board, Luddon snapping up the pot with Ac Qh versus Ad Ks. Cavanagh down to 188,000.

Gareth Jones has doubled through Damian Evans, behind with Aspades Td vs Ahrt Qs, the calvary coming int he form of a 3h Ts 9h 7s 8c board.

Next Guy Johnson doubles through Darren Hickman with Ahrt Qh vs Js Jd on a 2s Aspades Kd Ks ("Spades!" says a forlorn Hickman)...9d

Best story so far though, this is Herbert Kasbauer's first ever live tournament, generally his max buy-in is $10!

Although a country mile ahead, the case queen hit the flop to knock Armitage out.

yes your right forgot about the 18k i lost the pot before and i thought she had folded face up as she never put any chips over the line

Paul McIntyre has been up and down like a kangaroo on a trampoline this last level or two. First he doubled Damian Evans up with Kc Jc versus Ac 8h on an Ahrt Jd 4h 3h 8c board. Then a couple of hands later, with just 15 to 20,000 remaining he pushed all-in preflop with Kh 7h, Andreas Hoivold called from the small blind and Gareth Jones shoved from the big. Hoivold folded, and Jones showed Ahrt 8h, but it wasn't enough as the board came 9s 5d 3h Qc Ks to keep the Liverpudlian youngster alive. He now has 50,000.

Paul McIntyre is now out.

Andreas Hoivold raised to 100k on button, in effect setting both Gareth Jones and McIntyre all-in. Jones passed and McIntyre and his glum 50k or so stack peeked at Qh Th, saying, "Ok, this is good enough to gamble with..."

Hoivold showed Kd Tc

5c 9h 7s 9c Js

Down to 15 players.

Had a feeling McIntyre and Holvoid would finally bust one or the other.

They were involved in plenty of pots on Thursday.

3d Qh 2h 8s Ks board and Darren Hickman has bet 45k into an 80k pot on the river.

Guy Johnson, "Oh, I think it's time for a hero-call...You missed your flush, I think I'm going to have make a hero call..."

He keep taking about it, finally does it and Hickman says, "Six-high."

Johnson shows 9s 9d.

The action has really slowed down recently. A couple of pots I noted down...

(1) Stephen Slavin raised to 30,000 from UTG, Damian Evans flat called from the cut-off and the two players saw a Q-9-x flop. Slavin checked, Evans bet 30,000 and Slavin folded, albeit reluctantly and showing a nine in the process.

(2) Andreas Hoivold made a standard preflop raise and Alan Vinson defended in the big blind. On the 4d 2h 8c flop, Vinson checked, Hoivold bet 36,000 and Vinson made it a total of 86,000 to play. Hoivold let it go.

Jason Trey is out in 15th place. All-in with Ac Qc against Eddie Lundon's 9s 9d

Tc 7d 8h

Advantage Lundon.

9c

Oooh, fun card.

7c

The wrong club for Trey who is out in 15th place.

This is the last level of day, we'll recommence tomorrow with however many are left.

Andreas Hoivold seems very cooly comfortable on the table, getting most of his raises through, he's also picking off Zachary Ford's button raises with enough frequency that Ford has really slowed down his aggression. I think he's going to have be the favourite tomorrow.

Hi gents, good job.  It seems like only yesterday I was in Snoopy's chair in windswept Blackpool...  It seems over the course of one day lots of the players I would've backed to final have busted.  All change!  Got to be rooting for Hoivold and Sunny Chattha now, but gl final two tables (my guess for the number you'll get down to).

With the tension beginning to build, and players looking weary, Mohammed Shoahebe shoved all in from under the gun for just under 100,000. The action folded around to Gareth Jones in the big blind who began to flick the side of his cards repetitively with his fingertips. After a moments pause, Jones lifted a chip in the air, dropped it onto his cards and sat back with his arms folded, the gesture signifying that he had a decision worth pondering over. As the table waited patiently, I sensed that Jones is the type of player who doesn't do anything quickly, always ensuring that he is making what he believes to be the correct decision. As I was peering at the cobwebs in the corner, Jones surprised everyone by abruptly announcing call and jumping up from his seat.

On their backs, and it was coin flip time, Jones looking to avoid paint with 8c 8h versus Shoahebe's Ks Qd. A third eight in the window relieved any tensions for The Nugget, but the 8d Qh 5d flop wasn't quite enough to seal the deal there and then. The Jh was though, and by the academic Ahrt it was all she wrote for Shoahebe.

And on that eliminating note, we're down to a lucky-on-this-occasion 13 players and are finished for the day.

Play has now finished for the day. We're very tired and are going to bed. We'll restart tomorrow at 2pm. (Red Dog, Neil Channing and Jeff Kimber still in the £300!)

;stickaforkinme;

Chip counts to come in a bit.
