Yet again AA does not hold up
On the main feature table Mel Judah plays 55 and hits a 5 on the flop. Bengt Sonnet sets Mel all in, but Bengt AA is not good enough.
Mel takes a 60,000 chunk out of Bengt

I am sure Bengt need no introduction. He is one of the biggest online poker players in the world nowadays.
Many people have asked who this Marc Goodwin geezer is. He likes to think of himself as Mr Cool, good looking 40ish, pin stripe suite. I have been playing cash games (omaha) with him for 15 years in Birmingham, so he is no mug. He has only recently started playing tournaments though.
Richard Gryko is a youngster from the south of England. I wrote an article about a year ago, saying I thought he was the best young player in the UK. Let's see if he can prove me right. Again he is a professional internet poker player. He has won several live tournaments as well

ifm r.e. Bad-Beat..Some very interesting comments, but the general picture hasnt been observed as yet. Morten Erlandsen is OUT after moving in on a  8h 4d 6d flop with  Kd Jd, finding  Ad Ah against him.  So needing one and only one diamond, it was not forthcoming and he went just before Scott Numoto, who is also OUT having taken JJ against Eric Sagstrom's 77 only to find a seven come on the turn.  There's a bit of a rearranging flurry as the tables of six are balanced and then a break.

I've been getting some fantastic ones, after refreshing the page it has been fine again.

Hi NoflopsHomer - yes feel a bit better, enough to peer at the action down here, such as:  Phil Ivey's double up with  Ac Qc against  7s 7h, all in on a flop of J 4 3, two clubs.  It wasn't a flush which gave him the double up, but runner-runner straight in the form of 5 2!  Either way he's back with 230k or so.

Fair enough if it was a one off jobbie, but nearly every comp we hear this, if he truely was sorry he wouldnt keep doing it!!

We seem to be having wi-fi probs at THIS end, & server problems at YOUR end. We are working on both problems, please bear with us.

Short stack Stefan Sabel doubles up against Johan Storakers with AK vs J9, in a flurry of 'all-in calls' which are helpfully announced by Matt Savage for the benefit of all.  Especially handy for the faraway feature table, although those hands tend to involve Tony G who announces them for him.

Yes, back to Mr. Kalmar, and a totally raggy board ( 7d 4c 2c 5s 4h) brought no help to Skalie's  Asp Kd and he's extremely short now, and in fact looks to be all-in again:

The whole Tony G issue should be disscussed as it is a free forum but i don't think it needs to get to the point where we are fighting amongst ourselves, which is exactly what we try to avoid on this forum. Tho im not going to sit on the fence here, I think this performance by our Lithuanian/Australian shareholder is deeply saddening and totally against the spirit of blonde. Im sure the bosses will discuss this at length whether this is a route we want to continue down and i trust them to look after the sites best interest.

I agree 100% but we have moved away from being "updated" about the event and developed in to another conversation where a player is being chastised for something. (which for the record is NOT cheating in any way shape or form, yet we happily accepty cheating in other "sports" like players appealing for penalties when they know it is not, or diving. I have never even seen someone get this much grief for soft playing in tournaments etc!). Damn, now you have got me involved... LOL STOP IT!!

Right guys, if you're not scared of DC, you should be scared of me!

Please let's not sully this thread and update by getting into nasty arguments. Go post about it on the General Board, if you have to, but be aware that you can't really swear on there either, and as I have no life at the moment, I'll be watching :)

Let's just enjoy the hard work, Jen, Dave and the old man are doing for us eh? And let's not get into arguments while we have guests amongst us :)

It's a tale of great intestinal fortitude, perseverance, and just being an all round good egg...I'm not going to reveal anything else about this one, but it will warm even the most hardened heart.

Whether you are nominating yourself or someone else, just drop a PM through and in due course the person’s name will appear in lights on the main site. Your nomination can be left anonymous in the new section if you wish.

I will co-ordinate the growth of the new section, including putting in additional achievements to the entry of any person who is in the Hall of Fame, but feel free to PM any moderator/admin.

The key thing here is that it should be a serious achievement that is important for that particular Blondeite. It needn’t be winning a bracelet or a WPT event, indeed it can be anything from an inexperienced player winning or placing in a comp of ANY value for the first time to a non playing achievement in the poker community  through to significant non-poker achievements of any sort. As it is quiet I will add my sixpennorth to the Tony G debate. (for what its worth)
I love all styles in poker, the quiet unassuming type and the brash, in your face personality. They bring to the table everything thats needed to make it the fun, entertaining and unique.
However, from all that I have seen of the said Mr G, he is off the scale when it come to having some kind of modesty, manners and respect.
It is fine to bring your voice to the table and sledging is a day to day part of the game but he appears to want to ridicule his opponent to the point of submission, even if his opponent is at his lowest point (having just made an exit)
He may be a very good poker player, he may have the results to show but he has no style.
Here are a choice of drinking partners for you......Marcel Luske and Ram Vaswani or Tony G and Phil Helmuth????

The post-dinner break crowd is fairly small, considering that with four tables and only 12 places paid (details coming for those who were asking early) it is getting interesting.  But actually, that is a blessing as we've had situations where the crowds are impassable or the press on a tight leash, and it's quite nice to have a bit of space for wandering.

Marc Goodwin extends his lead with good old  Ad Ac, finding Peter Eichhardt with  Qs Qc prepared to put it all-in preflop.  The board came low, and he continues his reign of terror, knocking people out with the best hands and some less good ones in quick succession.  So Peter is OUT in 24th.  Marc now up over 600,000.

Having found himself a comparative short stack with around 100k, he hit top pair on a 9-high flop with  Js 9h, but there were two hearts on there too and that is what kept the interest of Jean-Jacques Ghebali with his  Qh 8h.  The necessary heart fell on the river to eliminate Mads.

Hot on his heels follows Johan Storakers, whose A8 was in pretty bad shape against Tyrone Zinman's AK, especially when Tyrone flopped a straight!  The necessary King didn't appear to save Johan, and as he was 19th, they've merged to three tables.

The Golden Ticket is the re-entry to the final table for the winner of the Consolation Tournament tomorrow.  Unconventional, but it's keeping the out players interested, as you may imagine..

Strummer wins a 100k pot off of Richard Gryko, with a bet on the end comprising the most of it - I think he had trips.

Kristy Gazes is a short stack again, and moved all but a 500 chip in which ActionJack called as "string bet" totally deadpan, leading her to announce "Almost all-in" and eventually pick up the blinds and antes.  I think the amount of times she can do this is somewhat limited, judging by the faces at her table... She also came out with the term "Redonkulous" which maybe my fevered brain actually coined but I'd like to hang around and see if she says anything else weird.  Keeps the spectators happy.

Jacko takes 80,000 off near-leader Marc Goodwin, in the following manner:  Marc Goodwin held AQ, against Paul's  4s 5s.  It appears that Marc bet small on the flop of 6 7 A and called a min raise, then bet smallish again on the A turn.  The river brought an 8 and another bet from Marc, and Paul thought for a while saying something like "Well, I'm definitely calling..." before deciding to flat call with his bottom end of the straight.  It won.
