Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: elblondie on November 21, 2005, 11:37:27 AM Yet again AA does not hold up
On the main feature table Mel Judah plays 55 and hits a 5 on the flop. Bengt Sonnet sets Mel all in, but Bengt AA is not good enough. Mel takes a 60,000 chunk out of Bengt ...so Mr. Cool Marc Goodwin is now a clear chip leader Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: Trace on November 21, 2005, 11:39:04 AM For what it's worth, I think you started this thread with much more aplomb than the old geezer ever did! careful Heid, he has just arrived, half asleep...and biy does he look grumpyIt's good that you are helping out the elderly. So it has obviously been selected as the TV table.
Bengt Sonnet, Marc Goodwin & Richard Gryko will not be steering clear of each other...so expect some fireworks Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: plplaya on November 21, 2005, 11:39:41 AM What are blinds/antes?

Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: tikay on November 21, 2005, 11:42:02 AM Yes, a pot of tea was waiting - cold, with no sugar. And I was due to be "resting" today, but Mr Burns got the panics - "PLEASE come & help me Tony, I don't know what to do".
Heid? :redcard: :redcard: On a more serious note, Jen is quite unwell, & I don't expect to see her today. Nothing too serious, but not at all nice - it's in the "something she ate" department. Tighty - careful now, I'm well tetchy this aftenoon. (It's 12.35 here, in my office, on my day off). Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: elblondie on November 21, 2005, 11:44:05 AM I am sure Bengt need no introduction. He is one of the biggest online poker players in the world nowadays.
Many people have asked who this Marc Goodwin geezer is. He likes to think of himself as Mr Cool, good looking 40ish, pin stripe suite. I have been playing cash games (omaha) with him for 15 years in Birmingham, so he is no mug. He has only recently started playing tournaments though. Richard Gryko is a youngster from the south of England. I wrote an article about a year ago, saying I thought he was the best young player in the UK. Let's see if he can prove me right. Again he is a professional internet poker player. He has won several live tournaments as well Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: Trace on November 21, 2005, 11:44:54 AM C'mon the Brits.......

There are now only 56 players left, as Phil Hellmuth has been eliminated. He held QQ and was outdrawn by Morten Lassen's K6 who hit a flush. Phil took it like a gentleman shook everyone's hand and wished them luck...... ...... ... :D ok he didn't. He is shouting and screaming about losing with JJ, QQ and AA...but no one is listenning Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: Heid on November 21, 2005, 11:48:24 AM Someone give Mr Hellmuth a rusk, and he might shut up :)

Then comes Ram. followed by Mr Hoody, who is Farzad Bomnyadi, a big winner in America. Then Tony G, who played a 7 handed £1,000 SNG with us on "the dinghy" early this morning, with Mr Burns, Michael Greco, Achilleas, Robert Cooper, etc. Then comes, partly obscured, Robert Cooper. The turn and river were 2c 2s making no difference to the hands except giving them each two pair, Richard's being higher.
Short stack Stefan Sabel doubles up against Johan Storakers with AK vs J9, in a flurry of 'all-in calls' which are helpfully announced by Matt Savage for the benefit of all. Especially handy for the faraway feature table, although those hands tend to involve Tony G who announces them for him. With no choice he called all-in on the small blind for less than 8k after Paul Jackson raised on the button, also called by Zinman in the big blind. I agree 100% but we have moved away from being "updated" about the event and developed in to another conversation where a player is being chastised for something. (which for the record is NOT cheating in any way shape or form, yet we happily accepty cheating in other "sports" like players appealing for penalties when they know it is not, or diving. I have never even seen someone get this much grief for soft playing in tournaments etc!). Damn, now you have got me involved... LOL STOP IT!! Please let's not sully this thread and update by getting into nasty arguments. Go post about it on the General Board, if you have to, but be aware that you can't really swear on there either, and as I have no life at the moment, I'll be watching :) Let's just enjoy the hard work, Jen, Dave and the old man are doing for us eh? And let's not get into arguments while we have guests amongst us :) Anyway, I just posted something over on the General board, so I might as well spam it here as well :) Be Nice, or I will get me stick out :) Heid xx Hi all Well as Mr End is off on his Jollibobs in the tropical climes of Walsall, he's given me the fantastic honour of telling you all about the latest inductee to the BHOF! It's a tale of great intestinal fortitude, perseverance, and just being an all round good egg...I'm not going to reveal anything else about this one, but it will warm even the most hardened heart. Anyway, what are you still doing here? Go HERE immediately and read all about it, and take some time to peruse some of the other stuff that blondepoker.com has to offer. A brief recap of what the BHOF is, and how and why to nominate someone: BLONDE HALL OF FAME: NEW SITE FEATURE You will see a new tab on the www.blondepoker.com home page entitled “Hall of Fame” We hope you will help us in expanding this new idea. Here’s how you can help: All Blondeites are eligible for inclusion in the Hall of Fame (BHOF) Any achievement from the start of Blonde in January 2005 onwards is eligible Importantly, this is open to BOTH Poker and Non-Poker achievements The moderators and administrators will if necessary decide on BHOF entrants but we would far rather the nominations came from you. Whether you are nominating yourself or someone else, just drop a PM through and in due course the person’s name will appear in lights on the main site. Your nomination can be left anonymous in the new section if you wish. I will co-ordinate the growth of the new section, including putting in additional achievements to the entry of any person who is in the Hall of Fame, but feel free to PM any moderator/admin. The key thing here is that it should be a serious achievement that is important for that particular Blondeite. It needn’t be winning a bracelet or a WPT event, indeed it can be anything from an inexperienced player winning or placing in a comp of ANY value for the first time to a non playing achievement in the poker community through to significant non-poker achievements of any sort. Also, of course, if you know a Blondeite has acted to help others in either a poker or more general capacity, please inform us. We would like the nominating Blondeite to write the suggested entry wherever possible, though we will assist if you wish. Over to you! We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I love all styles in poker, the quiet unassuming type and the brash, in your face personality. They bring to the table everything thats needed to make it the fun, entertaining and unique. However, from all that I have seen of the said Mr G, he is off the scale when it come to having some kind of modesty, manners and respect. It is fine to bring your voice to the table and sledging is a day to day part of the game but he appears to want to ridicule his opponent to the point of submission, even if his opponent is at his lowest point (having just made an exit) He may be a very good poker player, he may have the results to show but he has no style. Here are a choice of drinking partners for you......Marcel Luske and Ram Vaswani or Tony G and Phil Helmuth???? But actually, that is a blessing as we've had situations where the crowds are impassable or the press on a tight leash, and it's quite nice to have a bit of space for wandering.

Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: Djinn on November 21, 2005, 07:41:33 PM Marc Goodwin extends his lead with good old Ad Ac, finding Peter Eichhardt with Qs Qc prepared to put it all-in preflop. The board came low, and he continues his reign of terror, knocking people out with the best hands and some less good ones in quick succession. So Peter is OUT in 24th. Marc now up over 600,000.

As they get towards three tables, it's all slowed down rather noticeably, with a couple of the larger stacks (I'm thinking mainly of Tony G who came out saying he'd had "a great session" - now on 650k) adding a few to their already leading number of chips. Jani Sointula, last year's winner, has 320k, and is on the old feature table again - Tikay off to try to get counts. Having found himself a comparative short stack with around 100k, he hit top pair on a 9-high flop with Js 9h, but there were two hearts on there too and that is what kept the interest of Jean-Jacques Ghebali with his Qh 8h. The necessary heart fell on the river to eliminate Mads. Kristy Gazes is a short stack again, and moved all but a 500 chip in which ActionJack called as "string bet" totally deadpan, leading her to announce "Almost all-in" and eventually pick up the blinds and antes. I think the amount of times she can do this is somewhat limited, judging by the faces at her table... Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: Djinn on November 21, 2005, 10:11:31 PM Jacko takes 80,000 off near-leader Marc Goodwin, in the following manner: Marc Goodwin held AQ, against Paul's 4s 5s. It appears that Marc bet small on the flop of 6 7 A and called a min raise, then bet smallish again on the A turn. The river brought an 8 and another bet from Marc, and Paul thought for a while saying something like "Well, I'm definitely calling..." before deciding to flat call with his bottom end of the straight. It won.

Title: Re: Monte Carlo Millions Day Two Live UPdate Post by: henrik777 on November 21, 2005, 10:22:35 PM Starting to drift off as hovering by the tables, I am off to leave the final 5 eliminations to El Blondie and Tikay to present to you, when they occur. I hope Dave gets enough sleep too as the Consolation tournament kicks off tomorrow afternoon and with such an attractive top prize it's worth being properly awake... We'll be back to see how they get on, no doubt. Oh and NFHomer - that is where it might have rung a distant bell. Roald Dahl, great. (Personally the Twits my favourite). Thanks for coming in to keep dumb and dumber in check. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
