Title: Bluesq.com GUKPT Champion of Champions Tournament
Post by: JungleCat03 on December 03, 2008, 10:38:41 PM
This is it!

The second year of the immensely popular GUKPT tour draws to a close and what better way to mark the end of the schedule than to gather together the winners of all the previous GUKPT main and side events for what should be a mesmerising clash.

The cream of GUKPT talent will be on show here as all 93 competitors duke it out for the honour of winning the final event on the tour as well as hoping to line their already overflowing pockets with the rather juicy lure of the £75k prizepool on offer.

For many, it will be the honour of winning that will be the key to the event. Saying you've bested all the other winners of the GUKPT events gives you immense bragging rights and the winner will have to see off some stiff competition before they can lord it over their fellow players whilst swigging Dom Perignon at the bar.

They'll have to adjust to the format first though for this is no normal tournament.

There will be a disparity in the amount of chips each player gets with number of wins and size of buy-in factored into exactly how many chips each player starts with.

Sam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1429) Trickett (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1429) will be the man they are all chasing with three wins under his belt this season, though he'll have a fight on his hands with Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195) Kimber (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195), Marc (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) Goodwin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) and of course recent GUKPT Grand Final winner Paul "Pab" Foltyn lurking just a gnat's whisker behind.

The exact starting stacks will follow shortly but we encourage you to participate in what should be an exciting, tense and good spirited contest between the elite GUKPT players over the last year. Naturally myself and the mcuh acclaimed and talented Ms Dana (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1241) Immanuel (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1241) will be bringing all the thrills and spills to you in the comfort of your armchairs, with the usual smattering of humour, photoshops and awesome punnery to liven up proceedings.

Throw any requests, shouts of support or anything else our way and we'll do our utmost to service you as best we can.

Battle lines have been drawn and the players are ready...

Bring it on!

how are the starting stacks decided JC?

Title: Re: GUKPT Champion of Champions Tournament
Post by: JungleCat03 on December 03, 2008, 10:57:27 PM

There will be a disparity in the amount of chips each player gets with number of wins and size of buy-in factored into exactly how many chips each player starts with.

:)

So for instance Sam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1429) Trickett (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1429) with 3 wins under his belt this year (not to mention nearly picking up a WSOP bracelet in the summer) will start with 20,000 chips.

Meanwhile Pab's win in the London GUKPT GF with its 3k buyin merits a 15k starting stack.

I'm not sure of the exact formula but more wins + bigger buyins = more chips is a close approximation lol.

It should also be noted that this is a one day event and thus the tournament clock will be running at a slightly more pacy than usual (for a GUKPT) 45 minutes.

This should raise a few pulses and mean the shorter stacked players will have to get their skates on if they are to keep up with messrs. Foltyn, Kimber, Goodwin and Trickett.

It should make for some exciting, aggressive poker imo.

Keep an eye on Sam Trickett early on, I think he wants to either build a stack quickly or he'll want to come up to DTD for the £1k event. Could be similar with several other players also.

I think there will definitely be a fast start to the comp, what with the various tournaments vying for the players' interest today and over the next few days and with the fact that the smaller stacks have some catching up to do if they are to keep pace with the leaders.

Throw in the fact that it is a freeroll and we could see carnage over the early levels.

We have exactly one woman playing here today, her name is Lorraine Healy, she started with 5k in chips and she is wasting zero time in shipping those chips into the middle.

Javed (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1379) Iqbal (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1379) just now raised to 150 from the cutoff onyl for Healy to re-pop him from the small blind for 550 total. Undeterred, Iqbal made it 950 to go, which Healy smooth called -- but he was not prepared for her open-shove for 3.9k on the Jh 3s Tc flop. After some brief consideration, Iqbal folded, leaving himself 3.2k. "She does the same with 2-7," noted a cheerful Adam (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=11) Wilkinson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=11).

Sizzling Bacon makes Ketul Blow a Fuse

A bad start for GUKPT London winner Ketul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1545) Nathwani (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1545).

He was seen betting out 650 on a 3h 6c Ad board, only for Andrew Bacon to make the call.

The turned 5d was the cue for Nathwani to lead for 1,500 and again Bacon ponied up the monies.

On the dangerous looking 4d river, Nathwani checked and Bacon now bet a measly looking 1k, which Nathwani felt obliged to call with his Ahrt Kd, only for Bacon to show up with a rivered straight in A-2.

Nathwani tapped the table to signify his defeat and watched his opponent scoop up the pot as Bacon gets off to a frier.

MMmmm, tasty!

Elimination!

Marcus Bebb-Jones' tournament has been brought crashing to a halt in the early stages. Though we missed his exit, we are told that Sam Trickett dealt the death blow in an early coup that underlines his status as chip leader.

It looks like Sam is in no mood to hang about, as was suggested earlier, involving himself in almost every pot, despite having Marc Goodwin and Karl Mahrenholz as his table companions.

This is great, the 45 minute blinds mean that we already into level 2 and although we still have almost the same number of runners that we started with, this looks as though it's going to be pretty speedy.

Also knocked out early doors is Kyle Smith, meaning that we are down to an official 91 runners, but subtract from those also the half dozen or so that haven't made it (including: Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=176) Woodley (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=176), Donal (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1712) Norton (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1712), Tony (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772) Cascarino (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=772), Glen Ashworth) and it feels like we're halfway there already. :)  Although we're not. :(

Announced one of the TDs over the mic: "There are two players gone already, so if you'd like to all make a deal..."

89-way deal a distinct possibility

- Gabriel Macavoray = busto

- Nick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=309) Slade (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=309) = heading home early

Average chips now 6.7k. Sam Trickett still looking good on his frankly unfair 20k starting stack.

Meanwhile bold moves from Richard Dawson, who checked a Tc 8c 3s flop to Peter Wood, who bet 150. Essy Jahanpour made it 550 -- and then Dawson made it 1725 to go. Wood dwelled up for some time, making little noises that sounded a bit like a pterodactyl, and then passed, followed by a swift pass from Jahanpour too.

Sheriff Ledger updates please guys, tyvm

Sheriff's been an absolute dynamo so far, blitzing his table with an exciting series of folds.

In his own words..."I'll play a hand eventually!"

He is brandishing his sheriff's badge and cowboy hat with pride though, so we can expect him to lay down the law sooner or later.

Curtis Ledger - currently 5,100.

One of Peter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2709) Wood (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2709) and James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=185) Browning (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=185) raised to 500 and the other called; either way, they each got 500 chips in pre, with Wood in position.

They saw a curious 2d 2s 2c flop and Browning bet out 1k. Wood, with barely a pause in his monologue concerning how Willie (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=450) Tann (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=450) went broke with that flop in the WSOP, announced all in. Browning dwelled up while the Wood momlogue continued. "What if I have queens?" asked Browning. Eventually he folded, and Wood showed him pocket kings for his trouble.

Browning down to under 4k.

There's a healthy amount of table chatter ringing round the confines of the Luton G Casino poker room, but one voice that can be heard above all the others is that of renowned motormouth Andreas  "Greekfish" Andreou.

A few moments ago, a pot broke out which caused much merriment amongst the table.

With Peter Wood making a raise to 300 from middle position, he watched James Browning make the call from the small blind.

"Not you again!" chided Wood, who has already clashed with Browning on a few occasions.

"I keep getting hands!" protested Browning!

The dealer dealt out a flop of Ahrt Jc Ad and the two players checked it down to see a turn card of 6s.

"I already know what you are going to do now" said Wood. "You always check the flop then bet the pot on the turn."

"Oh!" said James. "What is the pot?" he asked quizzically and counted out the 700 there.

"I bet 700 then!"

After a long period of contemplation and sighing, Wood laid down his hand and Browning generously offered to show him what he had for 1 pound. Wood scrabbled frantically in his pockets for the money but could only pull out wads of notes and 45p.

With Browning on the verge of mucking, the kind masseuse Sam jumped to the rescue providing Wood with the monies.

Browning gratefully accepted the pound before showing down a trip-tastic A-Q!

"Give me a bucket to throw up in" laughed Wood on seeing his foe's dominant hand...

Bayliff's Chips are Seized

Chirpy scouser Steven Bayliff has seen Jeff Kimber collect on his debts.

Jeff told me he'd open-shoved a few times for his last 1,500 chips before Jeff eventually made the call with K-Q. I beleive Bayliff had A-T so was marginally ahead but Jeff runs good and he got there, leading Steven to leave the table with a small scowl.

"That's twice you've done that but nevermind..."

Jeff swept up the chips quietly with a small smile, up to 17k or so now...

Curiousness from Lorraine Healy and Julian Thew now.

Healy limped in utg and Thew raised to 525 from the hijack. The small blind called, as did Healy, and they proceeded to a flop.

Flop: 8s 9h 5c

It checked to Julian who bet 1k; the small blind gave up, but Healy flat called and they moved on to the turn.

Turn: Ahrt

Again, Healy checked, and again, Thew bet -- this time 1.7k, making Healy lay her hand down.

Sam Trickett doing very nicely, the earing-ed one has around 30k and is looking mean and moody.

Some other counts:

Marc Goodwin 9.8k

James Browning needs to get up, get on up as he has a mere 1,700 atm. "I'm desperate!" he told the table. Owwww!

Ian "The Raiser" Frazer 5.8k

Jerome Bradpiece - 26,000. He is definitely looking, if not exactly svelte, then at least very trim and healthy. He is off to a great start with his chips stacked rather haphazardly but increasingly imperiously.

Paul "Pab" Foltyn - 9.8k. Not the greatest start for Pab who has seen his stack dip below 10k, largely at the hands of Ganesh Rao who is playing the part of mongoose to Pab's cobra at the moment.

Andrew Teng - 5.8k When not playing poker, Andrew is known for his Gok Wan, star of "How to Look Good Naked", impersonations. Allegedly...

Akenhead: Kc Qh
Heynsen: Aspades Ts

Board: 7d 7h Qd Ks 2d

Easy come, easy go...

With such short stacks at the tables, there is a requirement to gamble and Akenhead did just that, getting his chips in with A-J, only to clash heads with Steve Holden's A-Q.

An Ace and Queen by the river meant Steve's Aces up was best, though Akenhead had him covered by 2k or so.

So that's Holden up to 6k, Akenhead hanging grimly on with just 2k....

A gentleman I'm afraid will only be known today as Mate E. Boy is OUT, busted at the hands of Jerome Bradpieceofhisformerself.

Mr Boy pushed in utg and Jerome called from the small blind.

Boy: Ks Qh
Jerome: Jd Jh

Board: Ac Ahrt Ts Aspades 5d

To the dulcet sound of someone else at the table complaining that they would have had quads, Jerome is up to 31k.

Btw, Pab, to Jerome's immediate right, is on 18.5k.

Oh dear, an unlucky exit for Michael Arnold (not that Michael Arnold, the other one). He bet out 1.2k on a 7s 3d Qd flop only for Ketul Nathwani to make it maybe 7k, leaving himself just shrapnel behind but covering Arnold. Arnold though about it, then called all in.

Nathwani: Kd Jd
Arnold: Ac Ks

Turn: Jc
River: 3h

Thus Ketul wins the hand in the meanest possible way, and Arnold is busto.

Richard (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1562) Wheatley (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1562) raises to 600 in early position, only for Julian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) Thew (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) to re-pop him for 1,500 total. Call.

Flop: Ad Ks 8c

Wheatley bet out 1.8k and Julian flat calls. They proceed to see a turn card.

Turn: 5s -- and it's checks all round.

River: Jh

Wheatley checks, and Julian nonchalantly bets 3k, more than half of his remaining stack. After a moment's thought, Wheatley calls -- only for Julian to flip over some rather unexpected Ahrt Aspades. Wheatley flashed the Ac and mucked his other card.

Wheatley: down to 6k
Julian: up to 14k

"Touch me up a bit!" shouted Wheatley in somewhat sinister fashion as he spied me cropping his photograph.

Well I'm prepared to get rid off your red-eye Richard but that's where I draw the line!

His piscine nemesis' A-J made two pair by the river in an all-in coup to leave Browning's  sevens floundering and his tournament hopes done and dusted.

Here is a shot of his executioner, the man who has increased sales of noise reducers worldwide..."Greekfish" newly moved to table Trickett/ Goodwin.

Note how Greekfish is making an early bid for Terminator Of The Day.

Reeve Leaves

With two limpers before him, Terry Reeve shoved for his last 1.5k or so -- and there was an unexpected call from the small blind. Both limpers declined to get into any kind of war, and passed.

Reeve: Ks Qh
Small blind: Jd Js

Board: Ts 2d Ahrt 7d Th

Out he goes, with his cheery yellow jumper.

A blind on blind raising war between Richard Dawson and Lorraine Healey was eventually won by the super-aggro Healey with an all-in bet that Dawson wasn't prepared to match. "I'll let you have a peek if you show your hand," said Dawson, and a nod later he flashed K-Q. Healey showed him a lacklustre 9-T offsuit for his troubles. Despite the aggression, Healey is still barely over her starting stack, though, on just 5.5k.

A New Big Stack

Ketul Nathwani's stack was looking pretty healthy, but not any more, as the chips have mainly gone the way of David Rudling.

With over 6k in the pot by the turn, Rudling checked the Jc Aspades 8d 7h board, and Ketul bet 2.2k. Rudling raised to 5.5k, and Ketul called.

Come the Jh river, Rudling bet out 7k, and with a resigned sigh, Ketul threw in the call a moment later. Ketul turned over Ac Kd for two pair -- but Rudling showed him 8h 8c for a full house, taking down the chunky pot.

Rudling: 40k
Nathwani: 8k

A rather short-stacked Paul Parker raised to 800 in early position and received a flat call from Jeff Kimber on the button. Small blind Brian Clarke announced all in; Parker, with fewer chips to his name than Clarke, called all in, and Kimber did the sensible thing and got out of their way.

Clarke: Ks Kh
Parker: Ad Ac

Board: 4c 6h Tc 9s 5d

Parker: up to just over 15k
Clarke: down to 2,775

The Pabra Strikes!

One of Pab's less predictable tablemates had been seen shoving the last two hands, on one occasion berating one of his opponents for not calling..("Stick it in you pussy!") much to the amusement of Pab, Jerome Bradpiece and the dealer.

This time Pab raised to 800 from UTG and Jerome Bradpiece flat called, as did another player.

Mr. Pussy now started dwelling "ooooh there's value now! Ok, I shove blind...Honestly I don't know what I've got!"

He now shoved (again) for roughly 4.8k and the Pabra had a little think. "Will you call me a pussy if I fold?"

Eventually, he decided he wanted to stick it in his eye and made the call while Jerome and the other player in the hand threw them away.

Pabra: A-J
Mr P: K-5

FLOP: 3c 6d Kd (Booooooo!)
TURN: Ac (Yaaaaay!)
RIVER: 8s

Pab arranged his new chips on top of his stack, up to 30k+ now and celebrated with a swig of beer...

A lucky escape for Ash Hussain. He raised to 800 only for Andy "Verbal Diarrhoea" Greekfish to make it 2,075. "There's friendship, and then there's taking the piss," justified Greekfish (not his real name). "You've raised me like six times." Nevertheless, Hussain called and they saw a flop.

Flop: 7d 6d 7s

Greekfish now bet out 3.5k, and Hussain went into the tank. "How much have you got left?" he asked, and was told 11k. After some dwelling, he passed, showing the not very good 4h in the process. Greekfish showed him the much better Qh Qs.

Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=334) Parker (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=334) was looking to work his 8k stack into something more worthwhile, seen shoving to pick up the 600 blinds just a few hands previously.

Eventually, he did just that, calling a shortstacked players shove with K-Q, only to find he held a sizeable advantage as his opponent held the dominated hand Q-T.

Only three outs could stop the sharply-dressed maestro but nonetheless, he couldn't watch...

His brown waistcoat shining under the bright lights of the G, the dealer dealt out a relatively safe board of 8-9-3. With a gutshot still a slim possibility, Parker's luck held and he turned round to find his opponent vanquished and his stack boosted to 17.5k.

Definitely something to smile about...

Richard Wheatley has doubled up in a blind on blind confrontation with Robert Bostock. Wheatley spent a while counting up his chips on the river of the 8d 8c Kh 5d 6c before deciding to just say a metaphorical 'what the hell' and announce all in. After some pause Bostock called him -- but mucked when Wheatley turned over 8s 7h for flopped trips.

An excellent boost for Ganesh Rao, bumping his stack up to 23k. He called a 2.6k bet from his opponent on a Qd 2c Th flop, and when said opponent checked to him on the 5h turn, he thought about it for a long time, and then announced all in. His opponent thought about it for less time, before folding.

Greekfish has been battling Ash Hussain with mixed success, naturally keeping up a running commentary as he goes along.

First off, he limped pre-flop on Ash's big blind, saying "I'm not messing about with a raise, even though I've got a big hand."

Ash checked and they watched a board of 6d 5d 5c roll off.

Check from Ash and Greekfish issued a soliloquy on the merits of the flop.

"That's a dangerous flop for me, I hope I'm still good. Big hands get cracked on flops like those...I'll bet out small to find out."

400 was the bet after that, which Ash called. "Ah, calling to bluff, I like that" said Greekfish.

TURN: Aspades

Check, 1k from Greekfish. "Please call, I want a call, call me." Ash called.

RIVER: 7h

Ash led for 1.5k and now Greekfish bumped it up to 4,000. Ash insta-called with A-T, only for Greekfish to show K-T which was NO GOOD.

"For a good player, you don't even think about what I'm representing there," Greekfish lamented as he sucked on his lollipop petulantly.

"What about what I'm representing!" laughed Ash as he raked in the pot.

That wasn't the end of the tale though...

"That's it...I'm on tilt! You won't stop me raising now..." Greekfish followed up with and he was true to his word, popping it up to 1k next hand, getting 3 callers, before firing a 3-4-5 flop successfully and picking up the pot.

Next hand he was in the BB and Ash Hussain raised to 1,200 from late position. Even before any other players had acted, or he had checked his cards, Greekfish picked up his 15k stack and moved it to the edge of a line ready to move all-in.

"Watch this move, this is genious" he told the watching rail.

When the small blind passed, he now took a quick glance at his cards, nodded to himself and pushed his towering column of chips over the line.

Ash looked pained and went into the tank, only for Greekfish to call the clock on him moments later.

Ash eventually folded and Greekfish giggled and showed 2c 4c.

"You can't call there. You'd fold Jacks there. You can only call with Queens, Kings or Aces!"

"Give me A-J and let's do that again..." said Ash a tad grumpily!

And now, Mr Andy "Greekfish Isn't My Real Name" Greekfish is OUT. He got it in well ahead with aces against Ash Hussain's pocket nines, but a nine on the river sent him on his way and boosted the Hussain stack to a probably-chip-leading 50k+.

Mr Andy "So Good They Named Him Twice" Andreou headed for the rail, still complaining about how he'd played the hand perfectly...

Lorraine Healey shoved for around 8.5k in early position, and Ganesh Rao to her immediate left called. Fold around to big blind Paul Parker, who folded too (8-3 offsuit swept out from under his cat card protector, and an "I didn't get where I am today without the cat's help") and they were on their backs.

Rao: Ac Kd
Healey: 2s 2d "A wing and a prayer..."

Board: Ahrt 3d 5d Kh 6d

Moments later, as I chatted with Rookie, who was watching from the rail, The Pabra sprung into action!

In typical LAG-tard fashion he found himself calling Richard Wheatley's push with pocket fives with...yes pocket ACES!

"Must be nice to be Pab!" observed Rookie dryly...

A flop of K-7-7-A left Richard drawing dead by the turn and The Pabra takes yet ANOTHER victim!

Meanwhile myself and Rookie dissected the hand.

"Bit risky there from Pab...maybe he should have waited till the turn before he got his chips in" I offered.

"Yes but what if someone had sevens?" queried Rookie.

"Good point. Check call to the river probably best..."

The Pabra could only smirk as he raked int he pot...

Sowing The Seed Of Failure

Just before the break, a bit of a disaster for Darren Seed -- Kevin Parkes open-shoved utg with Td Th and Seed re-shoved with Kd Kc, looking good, but...

Board: 3h Ts Jh 9c 2h

Thus the grass is green for Parkes on 20k now, while Seed's blossoming stack has been cut down to 6k.

Trickett, Sam - OUT!

The chip leader from the start of the day has perished, Sam getting his last few chips in with A-K and picking up a call from Anthony Thorpe's pocket Jacks.

"Now I've got a bowl of rice, I'll probably win this race!" said an exasperated Trickett, whose day has not gone too well after a promising start.

An ace straight off the bat suggested his premonition would come true but then BANG! a jack appeared and Sam started putting his coat on, knowing the death knell had almost tolled for him.

Toll it did, as the turn and river blanked sending Trickett crashing out shy of the prize monies.

"Good game all" said he, as he turned tail and left.

Here he is with his executioner Thorpe, when his dreams of victory were still a tangible possibility...

Pascal Heynsen doubles through Paul Parker -- didn;t see what Parker had, but Heynsen was holding A-K, with another two aces on the board.

--------

Martin Knibb open-shoves for just 3.7k from the button with 3c 3h and finds a caller in Paul Newman on the big blind holding Ks Qh. A 9h 7c 3s 9s 4d board guarantees the double up for Knibb, and Newman's stacked is knibbled down.

By The Grace Of God...

Ketul Nathwani raised, Richard Grace shoved for around 14.5k, and after some thought, Nathwani called. It was the right call, but it's not Ketul's day.

Nathwani: 4d 4h
Grace: Ac Qh

Board: Js Tc 8c Kd Jh

Thus Grace makes the straight to double up to around 30k, while Ketul is down to just 6 or 7k...

Having somehow felt he could let the blinds go through him once, he finally snapped and shoved with Ks 2s. Richard Grace called from the big blind with Ahrt Td, but oh! the luckiness!

Board: 6c Kd 2h Jd Jh

Mr Nathwani back up to around the 12k mark.

Pab has lost some chips and one of the problems facing him has been his tablemate, the famously monikered Paul Newman.

Paul watched Pab raise it up to 2,100 from early position, only to make the call from the small blind.

They went to a flop of 3-4-5 rainbow, and Paul showed him the colour of his money leading for 2,400.

Pab now made it 6.5k, sometimes a great notion but Newman is nobody's fool and immediately pushed all-in.

Small grimace from Pab, well on the road to perdition and he proceeded to get a count of how much more it was...around 15k or so.

He spread the pot, did some mental calculations but decided Paul wasn't kidding, he didn't want to sun-dance and wasn't feeling too butch.

Then he folded.

Paul Newman 1 Pabra 0.

After a very tiny rollercoaster of micro-double-ups, like one of those crappy little trains that the really little kids go on at theme parks, Mr Ketul Nathwani has kicked the COC tournament bucket (no COC jokes, please).

Ash Hussain raised to 2.2k from the button, and Nathwani sort of giggled at his his very few chips. "I'll see a flop and then pass," he said, and did just that -- flat call. So they saw a 5c Ac 3c flop, and at that point the chips did find their way in after all.

Hussain: Ad Ks
Nathwani: Jc 6s

Turn: 9d
River: 8s

We are down to 20.

It's playing out much more tightly than previously now as we home in on the 13 payout spots...

The last 15 minutes or so have passed with few contested pots and isolated preflop raises doing a good job of picking up the blinds.

A few moments ago, it looked like it may take off as Jerome Bradpiece raised from UTG to 3.2k, only for Ganesh Rao to dive into the tank for some time, before re-surfacing with a raise of 9.5k to 12.7k...

Jerome, who is oft compared to a good natured bear, due to his furry features had only briefly ventured out of his cave though and after blinking laconically at the sun for a moment, he folded and lumbered back inside, possibly for a short nap and some honey.

Seed-less Tournament

Many players are waiting for big hands to stick their chips in and when Darren Seed found one, he did just that.

Sadly his A-K was to run into a cooler, as Derek Miller had picked up pocket cowboys at the same time and the chips inevitably all flew into the middle.

No suprises, Miller's KK held and seed was spilt from the roster.

Another hand, another drama.

This was an interesting one, as Ben Callinan popped it up to 3.6k form early position, only for Martin Knibb to ship, ship mcgipp quicker than you can say "imallin."

Back to Jerome in the big blind who had woken from his apparent slumber and after a short dwell, he counted out a small re-raise.

Facing a shove and re-raise though, Callinan was no longer interested and folded his hand, leaving Bradpiece heads up with Knibb.

Knibb : J-J
Bradpiece: A-A "I knew it" said Knibb regretfully...

A flop of Jc 2s 3s did much to revive his spirits though.

"There's my jack!" he said happily as Jerome merely looked on implacably from behind his shades..

A three on the turn left him just 2 outs to redraw and when the river was a baby, Knibb had almost trebled up.

Jerome tapped the table as Knibb consoled him with a platitude of little use to the professional bear impersonator.

"It could have been worse!"

Pab raised to 3.2k and Ben Callinan called from the big blind.

Flop: Ahrt 7h 3s

Callinan checked, and Pab bet 4.5k. Callinan made it 12k, to which Pab responded by making it All In.

Callinan dwelled up long enough for the whole of this hand to be played out on the other table:

Alan Mower Doubles Up On The Other Table

Mower raised, and then called a reraise that put him all in from Derek Miller in the small blind. A clinical affair:

Miller: 3c 3s
Mower: Qh Qc

Board: 5c 6h Kh 5h Jc

Thus Miller doubles up.

Now Back To Pab V Callinan

Callinan was still dwelling, but eventually made a decision -- he called.

What could they possibly have? ? ?

Er, bit of a disappointment really.

Pab: Ad Th
Callinan: Ac Td

Turn: 7c
River: 3c

Sigh.

Ash Hussain is taking no prisoners. He raised to 4.2k from the button and was called by Pascal Heynsen in the small blind. They saw a 2d Ac Tc flop, which Heynsen checked -- and on which Hussain immediately announced all in, to easily cover Heynsen, who had around 15k behind. A swift pass.

Jahanpour: 7c 7h
Rudling: Ac Qh

"Kimber!!!!!"

Jeff Kimber has just been toppled like a hefty geordie redwood, and he didn't look thrilled about the manner of his exit

He was seen a little miffed at being out-flopped by Paul Parker following a raise to 4.3k that Paul made up from the big blind.

The flop fell 9 high, Paul led out and Jeff passed, only for Paul to flash Jh 9h.

"I can't pass for that!" defended Paul.

Next up Jeff raised to 4.3k again, only this time it was a different Paul, Paul Newman who tangled with him.

No flat call on this hand, instead Paul moved in for an additional 18k, which had Jeff covered.

After some thought Jeff called with A-J and as soon as he called Newman said "nice call" knowing he was probably behind with his Kd Qd.

He did add as an aside "I'd rather have shoved with A-J than called with it though!"

With Paul Parker wishing both players good luck, the flop fell rather nicely for Paul Ad 3d Td.

Only the nuts.

Jeff looked on a little miserably but the Ac on the turn suddenly re-ignited his chances, giving him a chance to fill up and stay in on the river.

The river though was the Kc, no re-suck was evident and Jeff was sent packing in 18th spot...

17 left....35k average 800/1,600/100 blinds.

It's gettin hot in here! (Though we are keeping our clothes on....(for now!....(and most likely the next few hours)))

Not So Amazing Grace

You may be thinking Richard Grace looks a little short there with just 7k and the BB at 1,600 and you would be correct.

One of the reasons he finds himself in such dire straights is that a few moments ago, he re-shoved Anthony Thorpe's push on the button for 8k and once the big blind folded, they found themselves heads up, Grace holding A-Q and Anthony...er 9h 2h.

A flop of K-T as the first two cards looked ominous for Thorpe but then a deuce spiked on the third flop card.

Plenty of outs for Grace, but none came as the turn and river blanked and he now finds himself on the cusp of elimination...

Anyway, Pab called on the button -- and then Jerome (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=199) Bradpiece (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=199) announced all in form the small blind. Parker called, Pab folded, and they were on their backs.

Bradpiece: Aspades Qs
Parker: 9c 9s
Pab: "Hey, I folded pocket nines!"

Flop: Ad Kd 7d

Jerome hits, and Parker has zero chance of hitting a set.

Pascal Heynsen raised to 6k in mid position -- around half his stack. Essy Jahanpour reraised all in...

...And Heynsen folded, most curiously.

The next hand, incidentally the last hand of the level, he pushed all in utg+1, and found himself called by Anthony Thorpe on the button. While everybody else scarpered to the gents/smoking section, they proceeded to a showdown.

Thorpe: Kd Qd
Heynsen: in some trouble with Kc Jd

But wait!

Thus Heynsen makes a straight, and stays in to see the light at the end of the breaktime.

Jerome Sent Home

Jerome has had some horrible luck today and that trend continued just a few moments ago.

We joined his table with his stack in the middle versus Ben Callinan.

Jerome held the advantage with Aspades Qs, versus the behind but live hand in Callinan's hands K-9.

Jerome gave a quiet tut as a flop of7d 5h 9h appeared to give Ben the lead and as the turn and river fell 3h and 4d, Jerome's life-support stack was turned to dust and the slightly less giant than usual bear impersonator departs the tournament with an "unlucky mate" ringing in his ears...

Paul Parker raised from the button and then called the bubble-time push from big blind Marc Goodwin. Excitement!

Goodwin: Qh Qd

All in stays in, and we continue with 14.

Thorpedoed!

The bubble has been brought crashing to a halt and it took a bad beat to do it.

Miller popped it up to 6.4k, only to find Anthony Thorpe shoving for 14k total.

A long dwelling period from Anthony Ross now followed with much grimacing and hand wringing, before he eventually threw his hand in the bin.

Priced in to call now Miller called the additional 8k, showing a lowly A-3 to Thorpe's powerful looking Jacks.

Poker is a fickle mistress though and this time she decided to run off with the milkman as a board of A-6-2-8-T transpired to leave Thorpe down and out and a relieved-looking Miller scooping up the pot.

That elimination burst the bubble, meaning everyone else is now guaranteed at least £750.

Good job guys!

Lordy me, we're down to 11 already. We'll be done by midnight at this rate.

Exit 1

Ben Callinan raised to 7k from the small blind, and big blind Paul Parker announced that he was going to reraise. "I have a jack, you see." This was a lie, but reraise he did -- another 16.7k, or All In, in layman's terms. Call.

Parker: Aspades Qc
Callinan: 7s 7h

Board: 5h 7c 5s 3s 3h

Thus Paul Parker finishes is 13th place, winning £750 but not in cash which he is disappointed about; rather the money will go in his Bluesquare account.

Exit 2

David Rudling raised to 6k, and Pascal Heynsen went all in for barely a k more. Obvious call.

Rudling: Ad 9d
Heynsen: 7h 7s

Board: 9s Qd 2h 4h 4s

And so Pascal Heynsen busts out in 12th place, also winning £750 to a Bluesquare account, although apparently he doesn't have one, so one is being opened for him right now.

Mower Mown

And then there were 10...

Alan Mower is the latest casualty, facing off versus Anthony Ross' big slick.

Sadly his A-T looked a little limp in comparison and a flop of K-5-2-9-Q did nothing to alter the balance of power, meaning Mower exits in 11th spot, taking home a cool £1,000 for his efforts.

Not a bad day's work!

On the cusp of the final table now, here are the remaining payouts awaiting the 10 players still in action...

1st £20k
2nd £14k
3rd £10k
4th £7.5k
5th £6k
6th £5k
7th £4k
8th £3k
9th £2k
10th £1k

Marc Goodwin raised from the button and Ash Hussain called from the big blind.

They saw a flop of 7c Ahrt 6s, a Qh turn and a 5d river, all of this betting-free, until Goodwin bet another 6k on the river. Hussain called and it was a split.

Goodwin: Aspades 3d
Hussain: Ad 2d

"I knew you had a small one," said Goodwin, apparently not intending the sort of, er, rubdown there, "You only looked at one. It's a tell of sorts."

Are any of the top chip-starters still there?...it looks like no.

My Train of Shame back from Notts passed through Luton, btw.  I deliberated getting off there and coming to see what was up with the Champion of Champions, maybe helping you out with a few hand notes during the busy post bubble hour.  Or I would have, if I wasn't asleep.  The guy who picks up the rubbish at the end of the line had to shoo me off the train.

P.S. Thorpedoed.  Strike three.

Ben Callinan raised from the button; he made it 7k. Paul Newman (not that Paul Newman) in the small blind: he called. Marc Goodwin in the big blind, though: he reraised all, for a whopping 49.7k more.

"Not much of one, is it?" sighed Callinan. Said Goodwin, "You never playedonline, when you press auto-all in?" Said Mr Callinan, "Ive never played before. Mr Callinan dwelled. And dwelled. I thought about getting a cup of tea. But then Mr Callinan called. Mr Newman passed a pair of sixes face up, and it was onwards to Showdown.

Callinan: Aspades Qd
Goodwin: Js Jh

Board: Th 2s Kh 6h 4h

Goodwin thus made a flush to double up and stay in the game. "Where's Paul Parker?!"

Ben Callinan: 40k
Marc Goodwin: 120k

Marc Goodwin has just been loudly admonishing the hand for hand format that is currently in place on the brink of the final table.

"Why are we playing hand for hand when it's only £250 difference? Let's scrap that guys. It seems ridiculous!"

After stating his case most compellingly, he was ushered aside by the tournament director (none other than the lovely Dena) who pointed out that in fact the next jump was £1,000.

"Hmmm" said Marc, re-thinking his strategy.

"Ok then, why are we playing hand for hand when it's only £1,000 difference!"

Much laughter and merriment followed although his complaints died away and the players continued playing hand for hand.

Somewhat slowly....

BIG NEWS TO FOLLOW THOUGH!

Dana has the details!

Ben Callinan, down to 40k or so, raised around 20k. Marc Goodwin reraised all in, Callinan called, and 'ere coom them caaards:

Callinan: A-Q
Goodwin: 9-9

Board: entirely devoid of aces or queens.

Meaning that Ben Callinan is OUT in 10th place, winning 1,000 theoretical Bluesquare internet pounds.

We're going to be on that Shame Train back to London any minute now!

Ganesh Rao is the latest to bust out, before they even had a chance to redraw for the final table. Rao moved all in on an A-2-3 flop, but his absolutely bluffalicious K-6 was no good against Ross' A-K, and Ganesh Rao busts in 9th place winning £2,000 English Bluesquare interweb pounds.

Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Champion of Champions Tournament
Post by: JungleCat03 on December 05, 2008, 12:33:47 AM
There is a little confusion regarding the exact order of the bustouts.

We were initially told that as it happened on the same hand, Ben Callinan and Ganesh Rao will split the 9th and 10th monies and thus be receiving £1,500 each.

We'll get official confirmation of this shortly from Jon Raab.

Meanwhile the players are having a short 15 minute break to formulate their strategy so we shall return shortly for the final run in to the champ!

Blind on blind, Pauls Newman and Foltyn limp/check their way to a flop.

Flop: Ahrt Jd 6s

Check, check.

Turn: 4s

Now Newman bets 4k, and Pab calls.

River: 9h

They both check again, and Pab shows Kc 6d which must be good enough to win as Newman just mucks.

Onwards!

Derek calls from the small blind and Marc Goodwin checks from the big blind.

They go to a flop of Qc 6h Qs...

Derek bets out 5k, Marc calls...

TURN: 8c

Derek, who is also known sometimes as John apparently checks, Marc bets 5k...

"John" now makes the first aggressive move of the final and check raises to 15k and Marc lays it down...

Goodwin: 9c 9d
The Pabra: Ahrt Jd

Six handed, Marc Goodwin pops it up to 10k. David Rudling in the BB...calls!

FLOP: 3c 7s Ad

David checks and Marc leads for 15k ; David sighs and folds.

Marc seems to have a stranglehold on affairs at the moment...

And then! David Rudling moves all-in. Marc Goodwin CALLS!

Ad Qc for Rudling Tc Th for Goodwin.

"You can't win every race can you?" asks a quizzical Rudling.

"You know that's Marc Goodwin don't you!" points out HUssain.

The flop falls Kd Qs Jh 7s 2c however and this time Rudling takes it down, doubling up and leaving GOodwin with a a still over 100k stack.

Poor Alex Martin must feel so out of his depth!

Ash makes it 10,200 from the button, and big blind Paul Newman makes a 'hmmm' face -- but disappointingly passes.

It folds to Paul Newman on the small blind who makes it All In!!!

But David Rudling folds his big blind, and we continue.

And big blind Tony Ross moves all in. Goodwin appears to be doing some complicated calculations in his head, or possibly just muttering to himself... and then passes.

Marc raises it up and Paul Newman deliberates for a few moments...before moving all-in!

Insta-call from Marc as he has pocket Kings. Only Ac 7s for Paul who quietly mouths "come on!"

Nothing comes on though as the board falls 8h 6d 7d 8d 5c and Goodwin knocks out Paul Newman!

So Paul Newman picks up £5,000 for his 6th place finish.

Well played sir.

Ash makes his favourite raise to 10,200, but everyone folds -- and he shows pocket kings, his third seriously premium hand since we went to final table, and the third one for which he has had absolutely no action.

He makes it 10,200 the next hand too, and although Johnderek Miller looks interested, everyone folds again. He doesn't show pocket kings this time.

David Rudling pops it up and Marc Goodwin...calls...

FLOP: Qs 7d Qd

Check, check is the riveting action!

TURN: As

20k from David, Marc passes and David sweeps in the pot with a exhalation that looks suspiciously like relief...

Blinds now up to 3k 6k with a 300 ante.

Much yawning at this final table, as they have now been playing for a full 12 hours, plus travelling time etc.

Mr Tony Ross in particular deserves a stamina mention -- he left Devon at 3am to drive down here, and is approaching the magical 24 hours of wakefulness mark. Yikes.

Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Champion of Champions Tournament

Rudling raises to 12.5k, and everyone passes to big blind Ash who also passes, showing a deuce and accidentally knocking lots of his chips on the floor.

Everyone needs a nap imo.

Marc raises to 12k.

Tony Ross....flat calls...

FLOP: Ts 5c 2c

Tony checks, Marc also checks.

TURN: Jd

Tony checks, Marc checks.

RIVER: Jh

Check, check.

Marc shows pocket fours. Which are good!

Another pot goes the way of the Goodwin. He's starting to look very likely to win here, although he will have to get past the large stack of the unpredictable and dangerous David Rudling first...

Foldy-foldy-foldy to Tony Ross in the small blind who limps, but big blind David (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) Rudling (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) rather spoils the party and makes it 16k. Fold.

Limpy/checky to a 9d 5h Ahrt flop for Rudling and Miller. Rudling bets out 7k, and Miller spends some time counting -- the pot, his own chips, fingers etc (may or may not be true). What is definitely true is that he dwells up for some time, seriously considering some sort of action-type behaviour....

And then he passes. Rudling flashes the 5d.

Ash raises to 14.2k utg, and big blind Marc calls.

A flop!

It is: 2h Ahrt 2s

They check, and they a turn.

The turn: 7h

Marc checks and Ash bets 10k; Marc can't be bothered any more and gives it up.

Anthony raises it up to 16k...Marc is ALL-IN!

Tony...passes...

Marc has applied a lot of pressure with his big stack and at the moment no one is taking him on, with the possible exception of David Rudling occasionally.

He looks like a man on his way to victory at the moment...

BOARD: Th 3c Tc 5d Ts

...Calls!

Tony Ross: Ac 6h
Ash Hussain: Ahrt 2d

Board: 4d 3d Th 5d 4c

Tony doesn't really register for a while that Ash has made a straight, but that is what has in fact happened, and Tony Ross is eliminated in 4th place winning £7,500 at some point next week in his Bluesquare account.

David Rudling makes it 44.2k, an extra 30k.

Ash now passes showing pocket sevens.

"One time" he says as he lays them down, not in the internet kid sense but in the "Next time I'll f*** you up man!"-sense.

Ash aggressively limps from the small blind and a positively fearsome Rudling growls in menacing fashion...before also checking.

The flop falls K 3 4.

Laggy check from Ash and David springs into inaction with an audacious check.

TURN:

Ash again lays the aggression on thick with a quick check before David finally puts the first bet post-flop in of 12k...and Ash folds.

Thrilling!

Ash folds his button and David Rudling raises to 17k from the small blind. Big blind Marc Goodwin scrunches up his face, and calls.

The flop: 5h Js 6c

David checks, and Marc bets 30k. David appears to be chewing the inside of his cheek. He sticks his tongue out and stares Marc down for a bit -- and then he passes, letting Marc take the pot.

David raises to 25k...and Ash calls!

FLOP: Kh Ac Ah.

30k from David. Ash...calls!

OMG ACTION!

TURN: 8c

David checks...Ash checks.

RIVER: Jh

David moves all-in and Ash passes...and a big pot goes to David (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) Rudling (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123), who was already the chip leader and has just increased his advantage.

David: Kh Tc

Board: Js 6c 6h 9s 4c

It may look as though nothing much is happening, but in actual fact, David is chip chip chipping away bit by bit with a marginally more aggressive game at the moment as the two players see flop after flop in unraised pots.

Ash may have to re-think his game plan at this rate...

David (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) Rudling (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) raises to 23k from the small blind, and big blind Marc (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) Goodwin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) reraises, another 45k. Rudling moves all in, Goodwin calls, and it's looking good for Mr Cool...

Goodwin: Kh 9s
Rudling: Ad Ks

Board: Ts 2c 8c 9h Jc

Mr Cool rather loses his cool and slams a fist on the table, and then I think he kicks a chair, albeit quite gently and it doesn't fall over or anything. Nevertheless, Marc (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) Goodwin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=257) is OUT in 3rd place, winning £10,000.

Hands reversed right?

No they changed the rules for that hand to make sure someone got knocked out.

Good idea imo.

Was it the sarcastic updater?

::) ;)

The limp/checked flop: Jh Jd 6h

Check to Ash who bets 12k, and back around to checker Rudling who makes it 30k.

Turn: 3d -- check, check.

River: 9s

David checks and then calls 25k from Ash. Ash shows K-6 for two pair, and Rudling shows a six but mucks the other card.

Split pot ! Both players make a straight! The chip counts remain identical!

John Raab has just revealed he is hallucinating. I hope his visions are a little more exciting than the poker at the moment.

Maybe he is seeing things like this...

The players see another flop.

8s 4s 4c

12k by David is good.

"No sixes this time" says Ash referring to Jon Raab's theory we have been seeing lots of sixes. It looks as though Jon is about to look silly but then David reveals a pair of sixes in his hand!

"Spooky" says Ash as they continue...

Ash limps, David raises to 30k...

Ash...calls!

9c 5h Ac

50k from David, Ash considers what to do and flat calls.

TURN: Js

Check from David. Check from Ash.

RIVER: 3h

Check from David. 50k from Ash...David mulls it over...then calls!

Ash shows A-3 for Aces up...which is good. A shrug and Ash now moves into the lead.

"That was the biggest pot of the tournament for me!" says Ash.

In the context of this heads up, it was about this big:

Ash limps in, and David whacks another 45k on it. Ash folds.

ROUGH CHIP COUNTS

Ash: 370k
David: 200k

Limpy-checky to this board: 9s 2c 4h Js

Rudling bets out 18k, and Ash calls.

River: 4s

David bets out 40k and Ash calls -- our caller turns over Jd 6c, and David just mucks. David getting short-ish now...

Now David, suddenly aware that he is short-ish, open-shoves from the button! But Ash passes, and we are all still here.

Jon Raab: "Five minutes before I start hallucinating..."

Many happy returns to Paul from AWOP, who turns 21 today! And he gets to spend it here in Luton, working! Lucky him! Everyone else suddenly feels much better about their predicament.

David now has his head in his hand. Even his relentless good humour is failing him a little as we enter the twilight zone.

David raises, Ash shoves...David passes!

"Very nearly" says a tired looking David.

Jon Raab has done a great job of keeping up a chirpy commentary throughout. The man's enthusiasm is boundless!

ALLIN from David.

Ash asks for a count...

He gets a count...

It's 75k more...

David says "I don't mind if u call i would appreciate the chance to double up

Ash says "I have a four!"

but passes 4-5. David flashes an Ace.

Jon  Raab is amusing himself by making suggestive gestures with the microphone.

So far he has licked it like an...er icecream and started to rub it excitedly.

The microphone obviously.

Poor man. I hope it ends soon before he straddles it and shouts "geronimo!"

David raises, Ash shoves, David folds.

Ash shows A-K and Rudling is now very short with 65-70k.

It should end soon but do we want this grippping contest to draw to a close?

Kh Jd 8c

David bets 18k, Ash folds...

Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Champion of Champions Tournament

David open-shoves again... And this time Ash...

...

...Calls!

Ash: Kc 2h
David: Qh Js

Board: 2c Qs 7s Ahrt 5c

Thus David doubles up. Yay. He says it's 220k but it's actually around 70k. 220k and it would have been almost over. I have an overwhelming urge to hurt myself. Or hurt Junglecat.

Go Dave!!!!

Floppy's going to get a slap.

Let's all root for whichever player has the most chips winning the next all in! Yay!!!

Can I remind the mean Nottingham-based updaters that even if this does ever finish, we still have to pack up, get a cab to Luton station, get a 40 minute train to West Hampstead and then attempt to find another cab or trudge the 25 minutes uphill to our house?

Omg I hate my life.

Why don't they just let Dena deal, she always gets someone knocked out.

Bring back the black widow!!!!!

Can you tell Ash and David to carefully consider each decision and most importantly, take their time! It's not every day you get to be the inaugural COC Winner. I think some careful contemplation with the aim of reducing the tournament to about 5 hands per hour could prove to be a winning strategy.

Ash limps in from the button, and then calls a raise to 45k from David...

...who open-shoves the flop, blind.

Flop: 2s Jc Td

David: 9d 9c
Ash: call, with Jh 8c

Turn: Js
River: 5c

Thus Mr David (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) Rudling (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=123) is OUT in 2nd place winning £14,000, and thus it necessarily follows that Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) is the Champion!!! of the inaugural Bluesq.Com GUKPT Champion of Champions!!!! event, winning £20,000!!!!! He's like a champion, cubed. Top COC, this.

Hurrah for both heads-upsers, hurrah for shortly heading off to the train station for the homeward trudge; photos to follow shortly.

Thanks for following. It's been a blast and all the monies have been correctly distributed (or will be online once the blue square staff have had a well earned rest.)

Myself and Dana are now off to nap for a 1,000 years so thanks for following us on what has been a long but ultimately satisfying journey to crown the Champion of Champions!
