Title: Walsall £750 Freezeout
Post by: Robert HM on November 24, 2005, 09:57:47 PM
Got some info from the snoopster who is leaning over the rail trying to either read peoples cards or pick there pockets.

He says he will try to text anything of interest and I will post it here.

Spotted so far are Stuart Fox, TightEnd and tikay

The comp kicked off at 8.45pm with starting chips of 10k

tikay took a huge hit early on but has doubled up to some sort of respectable figure when his KQ v AK hit a Q

TightEnd, on about 12k has Lucy Rokash (sp), Jack the Greek and Bambos on his table.

Right they are on a break now and smopy called with the following news.

TightEnd got involved in a hand, he was holding AA he called a raiser.

Flop came   Ad Jd rag

TightEnd checks, other goes all in for 9k, TightEnd calls

MateyBoy shows   Kd Qd  Royal Flush draw!

Turn is  Ts giving Matey the straight

River  Js - giving Tightend a boat

Tighty hits 22k

He says if he lost that one he would have given up poker, he seemed to be serious

Rumit also doubled up with AA v KK

Post by: Robert HM on November 25, 2005, 02:38:09 AM
Foxy took a massive hit in a pot worth about 80k. It has left him with about 15k.
It happened in a battle of the blinds.
foxy the BB. SB flat calls. Foxy raises about 3k. (remmber the blinds then are 400/800). SB (described as a young kid by snoopster, so must be underage), just flat calls. Flop is A89. SBchecks, foxy raises big time,  SB calls and 3 comes on the flop. somehow all the chips go in. SB shows A8 and Foxy shows Q8, so he's drawing dead.

Shorty after Ali Mallu gets involved with the child as well. KK for Ali, JJ for the juvinile. Flop QQJ and the river is a K for a bigger boat for Ali.

You asked and you shall be told:
Womble 30kish
B. john 42k
Ash 32k
Sandhu 60k
I KNOW IT 18k
Camel still in though not massive, well not in chips.
Rumit Average
Micky Wernick 15-20k
Liam flood 45k ish

Blinds 600-1200 5 tables left.

there's more......

After a good recent run, I played like an absolute donkey tonight.

10k to begin, I soon had 11k, after 2 hands I think, then I got all silly. Holding  8h 9h I limped, then called a pre-flop R from Big Bob, the Landliord, who plays Gala Notts. Flop is  Js 8s 3d.

Check check. I suspect my 8 is good.

Turn...... 8d

Hmm, it MUST be good now. Bob bets, I call.

River is a blank, then the betting gets all silly. I check, deciding that if I give Bob enough rope he'll hang himself. He bets 1k, I make it 1k with 1.5k, representing a huge hand. He bests another 5k. I move in. He calls & turns over  Jh Jd for the nut boat. I've given him enough rope to hang me & I duly obliged. What a donkey! Down to 700.

I have to gamble now, & I steal up to 2k very quickly, including two all-ins on flush draws. . I have Ali Mallu to my immediate right - ideal double up material. I limp in early position with  Ks Qh, looking for a check raise, I NEED a confrontation. Ali Mallu obliges. What DO you put Ali on when he raises? Could be ANYTHING! Well, JJ down will do me, I RR all-in, Ali calls, & turns over the dominating  Asp Kh

Board comes Qc 5s 5h 5d 2h

Oops, sorry Ali.......

I gradually build up to 5k, with blinds at 100-200 that's plenty,. but I'm still in gamble mode.

Holding  Asp 6h in the BB, we have THIS on the turn...... 2h 4c 3d 5h. Very nice. I decide to let one of the 5 limpers bet it for me. They all check. Damn. River is, unbelievably,  6d. Damn damn damn. 6 way split pot.....!

QQ is next, UTG, I am STILL in gamble mode, I want to get back to average. Table is aggressive, there is BOUND to be a R behind me. 2 limpers, including Button who is getting equally cute with  9s 9h.

Flop is  Asp Ah 3s. Turn is  Ac. Cut a long story short, BB has  Ad  3c, he had the fully on the flop, quads on the turn, & I still thought my QQ was good.

Ayya!

I think theres 21 left for day 2. I had an absolute dreadful 3 hours when I couldnt find anything at all.
The tighty exit went as follows.
Im in small blind with 7 1/2 k . blinds 300  600. Tighty raises to 1700, burnly john flat calls.
I have QQ and call the 1100, so does BB with JJ.
flop A  10 3
check, check tighty bets 4k, john moves all in for extra 20k approx covering every one.
I fold, so does BB, tighty thinks for a while eventually reluctantly calls.
tighty AQ  John AK  no help  and tightys out.

At blinds 1k  2k im down to 6k after earlier doubling up with AK vs JJ.
Then i get into 2 all ins with burnley John in succestion and win both, then get a bit busy and have managed to finnish the day on 53k.
Hope my rush continues tommorrow

i think robert is a great player and very under rated. - he only seems to need to turn up to win. - hardly ever see him out early or on the rail, his final table and cashes ratio must be amongst the highest in the business. - excellent stuff mate

Correction from an earlier post. The Alli Mallu hand with KK and JJ was not against the juvenile, but the player to his left. The juvenile in question came third yesterday in the £500 in only his second ranking event. He's now 2nd stack with circa 120K going into day 2. His name is James Atkin, a 20 year old final year law student. He plays very big cash games online and I mean very so he isn't in the slightest bit phased playing at this level, which is remarkable, considering he only started playing 3-4 months ago.

About to set off for J10 now and I'm taking my laptop, so if my mobile card gets a good enough signal, there may just be a live update this afternoon, no promises though.
