Great updates yesterday Flops. Good luck to all blondes + Richard 'Loser18' Lewindon.

Does anyone know whether the £50 I put on Moomin will be refunded to me before the start of play today so I can top up my bets?

EDIT: Just looked at the website - are they even putting up another market for today's players?

Just started now, Flushy and Thewy will be battling for the superiority of having a 'y' on their name as they share a table.

Iwan Jones, Chris Sokrati and Andrew Teng are all sitting in a row.

Dubai and Jeff Kimber are sitting next to each other.

Rick Trigg is sitting next to Mick McBag.

Tom Middleton is next to Steve Jelinek, Roberto Romanello and Ian Woodley.

Rick Trigg all-in preflop against John Fenoughty in the second on third hand. I didn't see much of the preflop action apart from Fenoughty with 2k out in front of him to which Trigg had moved all-in. No call though.

Nik Persaud has been virtually felted early on here.

Panicos Ellinas limped and Persaud limped behind, Vincent Calenti raised from the button (with Queens he later told me) and both called

Ad 8h 6d

Checked to Persaud who bet 600, Calenti passed and Ellinas called

5h

Checked to Persaud who bets 1,600 and now Ellinas makes it 4,000. After a long thought Persaud called.

Js

Ellinas throw the rest of his chips and Persaud called, but mucked when Ellinas turned over 7h 4h for the turned straight.

Persaud is left with about 400 chips. I'm guessing he had 8-8 or 6-6?

Btw, it is a sellout here, we are accepting alternates.

Lynne Beaumont has just been coolered out of the tournament, Mark Wilson bet 625 on a 7c Th 9c flop, Lee Rawson called and Beaumont raised to 2,000. Wilson then made it 5,625 and Rawson got out of the way. Beaumont moved in. Call

Lynne Beaumont: 9s 9h
Mark Wilson: Tc Td

Turn: 7s

River: 3c

Surinder Sunar has taken her seat next to Wilson.

Praz is down to about 4k after having a little mishap of set over set.

Alli Mallu is out, I think he had already got short beforehand and put it in with Jc 8c on a Kc  Jh 9c but ran into the Qh Td of Abhishek Khaniak and failed to improve.

After the 'dealer folded hand' at DTD are there plenty of chip guards in evidence? From the pictures it looks as though many players are just keeping their hands on the cards.

Nicolas Heather raises to 150 receiving four callers including Adrian Passfield in the small blind and Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) Hoivold (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) in the big blind.

9h 7h 4c

Check to the raiser who bets 450. Passfield makes it 1,000 and Hoivold makes it 1,800. Now Heather makes it 4,000...

It's back on Passfield who thinks for two minutes, almost pushes, but folds. Hoivold takes even longer taking a good five minutes, asking Heather if he has nines, but doesn't get a response. After clock is called on him, he folds.

Could Hoivold be folding 4-4 here? I can't think what else he could have. Does Heather have to have 9-9, 7-7 Th 8h, 8h 6h or 6h 5h here? Or could he have made a push with Ahrt Xh or is that too dangerous?

Tom Middleton is out. He pushed vs Adebayo (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=12) Odetoyinbo (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=12)'s button raise for about 1,700 with Kc Kh and was called by Ahrt Td.

7h Qh Ac 7c Qd

An unusually quiet Adebayo just said, "Very unlucky."

Julian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) Thew (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=225) has doubled up to about 20k with A-K vs A-J on an A-K-x board against Alistair (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1454) Carins (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1454).

Flushy, "I shouldn't have got out of bed." Then he said something about being value-towned by some guy on an A-x-x-K-K board by Jacks. But it sounded like he was still slurring or something...

Nik (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) Persaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) has doubled up again! This time with K-7 vs the A-2 of Nicky (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2574) Evans (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2574) on a K-6-2-6-7 board. Early contender for climber of the day.

Oh, and Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) Hoivold (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) said he folded two pair and believes Nicholas Heather had a set.

On the river of a Jh 4d 4h Th Qh board, Gregory Clancy checks to Paul King, who bets 1,200. Clancy makes it 2,400. Paul King moves in for 4,275 more. Clancy sits there for about 3 minutes shaking his head with frustration before making the call, showing Ahrt 7h. King shows 4c 4s for Quaaaaaaaaaaaads. He's up to about 18k now.

Ben Turnstill is out. "Second hand I played all day..."

He raised a few limpers with 7s 6s and got one caller, the flop came T-8-5 and he bet 850, his opponent raised to 2,000 and Ben pushed for about 8,000 more. His opponent snapped him with A-T and avoided a 9 or 4. His remaining 1,000 or so went in with A-4 but ran into 9-9.

Paul Parker is also out, 9-9 into Nicky Evans' A-A.

Keith Sarahan is out. All his money going in with Ts Td on a Jh Th 8s board against Alan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1315) Stearn (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1315)'s 9h 7h. Sarahan began to celebrate when the board paired on the 8h turn and continued to do so after a blank 4s river, until it was pointed out that Stearn had made a straight flush...

Stearn looks to be the early chip leader with about 40k.

On the river of a Kc 7c Js 8d 7s, Will Kassouf bets 2,700 into Praz Bansi. It represents about half of Praz' stack and after a good long think, he picks out the chips and makes the call.

Kassouf, "Ace high," and then flipped over Ac Ts. Praz showed Aspades Qc to win...

Funnily enough, he was involved in some verbals with Andrew Bradshaw and declared how he doesn't care about this tournament. To prove this point, he moved all-in blind before looking at his card. Another stack called all-in with 7-7 and Dubai turned over...K-4 and binked a King on the flop. He's on 24k now.

Flushy raises to 500. Praz calls, as does Thewy on the cut-off. Both the blinds also call.

Ts 7h 9d

The blinds check, Flushy checks, Praz bets 1,200. Thewy folds and the small blind makes the call. But then the big blind decides to raise, making it 5,200. Flushy, Praz and the small blind all fold fairly sharpish. The BB shows Tc 8d.

Dave 'Dubai' Shallow is out.

Having lost some chips to Andrew (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=26) Bradshaw (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=26) the hand previous, Dubai declares he's all-in.

The dealer pushes his chips back, "You can't be all-in, I haven't dealt the cards yet."

Dubai to Bradshaw, "If I move all-in blind will you call me blind?"

Bradshaw, "I would if there wasn't players behind."

Dubai, "Just stick them in!!"

Bradshaw, "If I could get these guys to fold without looking..."

Anyway, the first two players pass and Dubai pushes, Bradshaw folds as does everyone else up to Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) Hoivold (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=467) in the big blind who makes the call saying, "I only looked at one."

Hoivold: Aspades.....4c

Dubai: Qc.......8h

Dubai, "It's alright I'm going to win..."

Jd 4d Tc....(Dubai, "You see?")...Jc....6c

Dubai, "Alright, good luck everyone...live poker is rigged."

Players are now on a 45 minute dinner break

Just got back from a quick trip to Nandos with LeKnave, Rick Trigg and Nicky Evans. Nicky lost the flip. Weeeeeeeeeee.

Last hand of the break LeKnave got up to 30k, getting it all-in on a A-7-2 flop with A-K vs A-Q and holding.

To answer your question, Dubai had about 5k left.

Full chip count to follow shortly.

Rick Trigg is out.

He reraised an 800 bet to 3,200 with A-Q and was called, his opponent called 3,500 on the K-T-9 flop. On the 9 turn, he checked and had just 2,600 fired at him. Trigg raised to 5,500 and was called before Trigg check/called 3,000 on the Q river. His opponent showed Q-T and leaving Trigg with about 4.5k which he pushed in with A-x vs Mick McCool's button raise, but was beaten into the pot by A-K.

Wick was kicking himself for not just simply shoving the turn with the A-Q against the Q-T.

Alan and Ben Vinson are both OUT.

Praz -- 14k (although he was more interested in pointing to Richard Lewingdon and saying, "mbn." more on that below)
Thewy -- 14k
Karl -- 20k
Jeff Kimber -- 3.6k

Richard Lewingdon has propelled himself to chip leader in the matter of about two hands. First he doubled up with Kings against Queens, then the very next hand he had Kings again against Alan Stearn's Q-J on a Queen-high board.

Still stacking the chips as I type this, he's over 60k.

Why? He wants to save the green. ::)

Iwan Jones has managed to double up.

All-in on a 9d 8s 5d flop with Kd Ks against the erm...9s 4s of Andrew Bradshaw, holding on the Qd turn and 2s river.

He's up to about 50k now.

Scott O'Reilly just went out in a nasty way to Ian Woodley. All-in preflop with K-K against Q-Q with a Queen exposed preflop...Woodley caught the case Queen as the door card to knock out his young opponent.

On a 9d 2h 5c Ad 9s board, Andreas Hoivold check/raises a 600 bet to 2,500. Andrew Bradshaw is a non-believer and calls but Hoivold shows the goods, holding Qc 9c.

It's almost High Noon for Gary Cooper, he set Craig Bignall in on the river of a Ad Kd 5s Ks 9c board after Bignall had checked, but was quickly called by Bignall's 5c 5d which was good as Cooper quickly mucked.

Nik Persaud is raving about how good his hoodie is, but says it's in the car. I remain a non-believer until I see the proof.

LeKnave is back down to 20k after reraising preflop with Ac Jh and getting called by James Sudworth.

LeKnave bets the 7h Ahrt 7s flop and gets called before both check the 7c turn. On the 8d river, LeKnave sets his opponent in who instantly calls with Ad Aspades for the bigger boat...

What does Treguard think of that?

Evans feeling he was priced into the call with Ahrt 7c but caught a major piece of binkage with the Aspades on the turn, and still good on the Tc river. Ade has 375 chips left.

Denis O'Mahoney has been knocked out by Paul King. Jacks vs Aces on a 3-3-5-6-3 board.

Praz Bansi raises preflop and gets called by James Sudworth and Ian Woodley.

Kd Qs 6s

Praz bets 4k, Sudworth calls and Woodley moves all-in. Praz gets a count, but folds when Woodley stack represents a sizeable proportion of his stack. Sudworth also mucks quickly.

Woodley alludes that he might have had Js Ts and says, "I've got chips, now fackin' leave me alone!"

Martin Green is out.

Title: Re: BlueSq.com GUKPT Brighton: Day 1b

Julian Thew raises from the button to 1,600 and Mark Wilson calls in the big blind.

Qc 7s 9c

Check, Thew bets 1,900. Call.

8d

Check, check.

Js

Check, now Thewy bets 2,500. A dwell of the 'I think he might be representing the 10 here' variety, curiousity gets Wilson and he calls. Thewy flips Qh Td for the pot.

More heroics from Praz, with a board reading Q-7-2-T-5, Simon Wickenden bets 7k into about a 10k pot. Praz makes the call with 9-2. It's good, Wickenden can only show A-6...

Evening all.  I'm the poor soul that got rivered by Nik.  We were both pretty short and he opened from MP and I looked down at 33 on my BB.  I knew he would have to call the shove so I just shoved and preyed that he was gonna show overs.  Was chuffed when he flipped deuces but not so chuffed when the river came down.

I doubled him up earlier when he open shoved with about 1400 chips and I called with KQo on my BB.  I said at the time that I knew I would end up regretting doubling him up !

Anyway, it was a tough table but a lot of fun so there we go.

Nik Persaud's long trek of grafting is over, he just lost a big flip to Nicky Evans. A-Q vs 7-7 and couldn't manage to win a pot that would have given him a really good stack.

Dave 'LeKnave' Jones is out. He pushed UTG for about 8k. But the flat call of Mo Muse was bad news when they ended up on their backs.

Aspades 9s for LeKnave but Jd Js for Mo Muse which held on the Ks 8d Kh 2h Jc board, but the earlier cooler of A-J vs A-A on an A-7-7-7-8 board was probably what really cost him.

Andreas Hoivold might not have wanted to move tables, but he's doing ok so far. He just 4bet Laurence Houghton to the tune of 15k more, (I didn't see the initial or 3bet) and Houghton folded. The Norwegian who finished 3rd in Blackpool is now on about 70k.

Julian Thew -- 45k. Very ominous.

Praz Bansi has taken a big hit from Iwan Jones.

On the turn of a 7h Tc 2c Kc board, Iwan raised Praz' 4,000 bet to 10,000 which Praz called after some thinking. The river paired, bringing the Ts and Praz checked. Iwan fired out 15,000 now causing some major tankage from Praz as the Welshman sat dispassionately still.

A clock was eventually called and Praz began to count out his stack, it looked like he would still have about 40k if he made the call. "10 seconds," came the call and Praz folded his cards, like a kid forced to give back a Christmas present.

James 'Maverick' Keys is out. He squeezed with A-J after Nicky Evans had raised to 2,050 and received a couple of calls. Keys pushed for 25,000 and Evans called with the others getting out of the way.

Nicky Evans is on 64k as a result.

Players are now on the last break.

Chip leader looks to be either Mo Muse or Nicholas Holbrook, both are over 90k, but there's quite a few players with around 70k.

Steve Jelinek has doubled up with 7c 6c against Ad Qd. It looked like he might have 3or 4 bet for half his stack and was put in by Mark Wilson.

Steve, "I've got rubbish, I have to call though, I've put in half my stack."

The board helped though, 9c 9s 6s 8s Td.

Steve said sheepishly, "I thought I played it brilliantly."

Nicky Evans just took a big hit.

He raised preflop to about 2,700 was called by the button and the big blind.

Ac 7s 4c

Check to Evans who bets 5,100. The button folded and Craig Bignall in the big blind called.

6s

Check again. Evans bets 12,700 and Bignall thinks for a good three minutes, even checking how much Evans has behind, about 40k or so. Call, this pot is getting huge.

3c

Bignall leads for 14,750 on the scary river card.

Evans eventually makes a reluctant called with a grimace.

Bignall shows 6h 5h. Evans apparently had flopped a set of aces.

Andreas Hoivold 3bets Jerome O'Shea out of the blinds. O'Shea calls from the button.

Jh 9d 8d

Hoivold bets 10.7k, a fairly quick call.

6s

Check, check.

8s

Hoivold checks again. O'Shea bets 18k. Hoivold calls fairly quickly, but it's not really a snap.

O'Shea is forced to show Kd Qd for a huge swing and a miss. Hoivold scoops with Aspades 9c and is over the 100k mark.

Praz Bansi is out. Look like he got it in on a K-Q-T board with J-3 but ran into Iwan Jones' flopped nut straight with A-J. The 9 on the turn would have meant it was all going in on the turn and Praz failed to ping an Ace on the river.

Some big players with big stacks there but love to see Mo 'Billy' Muse go close.

Play has now finished for the day. Chip counts to follow and there will be around 55 players in total returning tomorrow trying to get to the final.

I'm off to the 24hr cafe for food. :)

Muse-ic to your ears?

Also, wouldn't your rather see him win than go close? That's rather mean...

Rick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=375) Trigg (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=375) is out.

I'd love to hear Rick's thought process on this hand and his views of his opponent. Very bizarre indeed if that's how it panned out. Not sure I'm keen on how they played it, but easy to say from up here.
