Title: Vegas WSOP staking.
Post by: AlexMartin on January 29, 2009, 01:49:05 AM
Hi guys,

Im going to vegas for the 1st time this year. I could have gone a lot earlier but wanted to ensure i had enough spare cash to do it properly. Having said that, im not even close to being bankrolled for the kind of events i want to play and am looking to offset some of the burden in an effort to reduce variance and play more comps.

Iv matured a lot in recent times, you think you know everything early on but it takes a lot of time to get a real understanding of this game. I am mainly a small/medium stakes cash game player but in days gone by used to play a lot of mtt's. Cash wise i have made instructional videos for partyacademy, coached two players to a state of real competence and i also write for insidepoker magazine. My best online mtt results were coming 2nd in the tribeca 100k twice and two 50r wins, both on stars. I recently helped coach a german that grimmed me to 4th place in the 2Mil GTD on ipoker late last year.

Im going to vegas as i feel im ready for it. Iv played for a long time now, in a variety of situations, against a myriad of opponents. I intend to manage myself carefully out there and there will be no drinking or partying while im playing in tournaments. Hopefully going with a bunch of older guys to chaperone me and make sure im a good boy :)

Im seeking staking in two events, selling 40% in both at a markup of 20%. Im intending to play the $5k shorthanded and the Main event.

I have played a fair bit on the uk circuit, but have a poor record. Iv played 9 gukpts and made day two seven times without cashing (twice with big stacks (fml)). I recently made my second ranking final coming 6th in the Irish Winter Festival in Macua (tiny field (130-yeah sit and go jokes welcome)) which was a baby monkey off my back.

The shedule has been published but there is a big chance of amendments so i wont print dates here yet. Also, i wont be taking any money until close to departure date due to the fluctuating £/$ exchange rate.

Selling in:-  10% blocks for the $5k event at $600 a block
5% blocks for the $10k Main event at $600 a block

p.m me if interested. Thanks for the read. And flame away about what a spewtard i am aswell, its coooool baby :)

I'm just in the process of building an extension at the moment which is a huge money pit so I don't know how things will be in the next few months.

I'll definitely have a slice of each if money permits at the time. If you sell out before then tough luck me.

Good luck selling!!

Alex,

You should charge a little less juice in the 5k short handed (one of the toughest events at the wsop imo) and a little more in the main event.

That being said, I will take 10% of you in the main event.

Hi guys, due to not realistically being able to afford what i want to do Vegas is off this year. Thanks for your support however and good luck those lucky ones who get a shot at the key to the magic kingdom.
