Title: Good Vibes for Cassie....... Post by: tikay on March 05, 2009, 02:57:06 AM For those of you not following the thread (now 40+ pages), Rooks greyhound "Cassie", a young bitch, makes her Graded Racing debut today.
The thread follows Cassie's story, (& Rodney's, but that's another tale), from the idea of buying a dog, through to her purchase, early days at home with Rooks & 'Ling, thence to kennnels, injuries, setbacks, first schooling runs, the difficult task getting Graded, heartaches & happiness, a truly lovely story. It matters not really whether she turns out to be an OP flyer, or a regular Grader, she has already given us all a load of fun, with plenty more to come, & she will be carrying blonde vibes to run as well as she can, & come home sound. Managed to keep toe to toe with the 1 dog to the bend but was a little too polite and ended up with the 5 dogs arse in her face, she turned last and I was just watching to see how she reacted. Was amazing tbh, off the second bend she found the rails and showed great middle pace, 4th going round the last and stayed on to lose by 1 3/4.
If she is drawn Trap 1 tonight I think she could have won. She stayed on very well, just needs to be a bit less of a lady at the bend :) All in all, v pleased. Knocked her into 5/2 joint, thought she was actually 9/4 tbh but went off 5/2JF. She opened 4s. Title: Re: Good Vibes for Cassie.......
