03.45 just read through the updates, top stuff guys thank you.

Question? as i can only ever dream of playing this kind of tourney. 20K starting chips, and the clock is showing blinds at 250/500 and over HALF the field have been knocked out!!! is this the norm for this level of tournament? Seems strange to me but as i say i never play at this level.

One hand from last night that warrants a mention of only for the calmness of Mo afterwards......

Karl to my left reraises Mo and Mo flat calls.

Flop comes  Kh 8c 6d  MO bets out, arl pushes all in Mo calls.

Karl has  Qs Qh  MO has   Aspades Kd

As Mo tunrs over his hand Karl calls it and once the cards are over start berating himself for being so stupid, he is now out of the touney.

Turn no help but the river is the Qd.

Mo doesn't flinch, takes it in his stride, its a pain but he keeps smiling. Both of them are very gentlmanly about it all. And after loosing half his stack he still has over 100 big blinds.....lovely structure.

No idea if its the norm as its the first 1k tourney I have played but I think it will slow down a lot today.
Might be wrong though!!

Go Big Bazza and MC (that would be an odd looking heads up match).

Would be a good little story if MC turned his dissapointment at the grading into a nice score in Nottingham.

Theres one thing i cant understand, why are so many people out, they cannot be playing with the correct mindset,it cant be won yet, still good reading for me. good luck all.

Player down on the second hand of the day

Leiv Kare Johannessen raises it up tp 1500 pre, called by Michael Chambers and Colin Young

flop comes  Jc Td 7s

Chambers checks
Young shoves his remaining 10.5k in
Johannessen folds

After a dwell Chambers makes the call saying I put you on QK ...

On their backs

 6h 6d for Chambers
 Qd 9d for Young

Turn comes  3d giving Young a flush draw as well as overcards and a straight draw !!

River comes  7h

And despite having a million outs .... Young is OUT !

Richard makes it 16,800 to play

bookiebasher gives it the "i've got a big hand you know" dwell and passes

Dingdell is in the building, straight from work by the looks of it

The Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) Neville (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42)/Grace/Tasos/Gourlay/Glyn Rees table is ultra-aggressive. A short-stack on it, Mark (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=3008) Wilson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=3008), remarked to me "each pot is 3-bet pre, and I keep getting caught in the cross-fire"

On this table five players saw a  8c 4s 4h flop, checked to Jamie Moult. He bet 6,500 into a 4,000 pot. Seat 7 Rahim Sadaat put 1600 in the middle thinking that was the size of Moult's bet. When his error was pointed out to him, he complained long and hard about how the chip colourings were too similar, then complained a bit more for fun, then folded, forfeiting the 1600 chips.

As everyone else then folded, Moult had a nice little bonus in the pot he won.

This over-betting lark seems to be catching on. Rupinder (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1654) Bedi (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1654) found himself in a pot, in position, against the lethal Albert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1251) Sapiano (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1251) and the bleach blonde Sam Walters

on a flop of 2-6-5 rainbow, raised pot, Rupinder bet 6,500 into the 5,000 pot and got that rare beast, a Sapiano pass, and a pot won

Right then, day 2's are always the worst for updaters. All feels groundhog day after a long first day. I myself spent the night listening to Kev talking in his sleep and snoring whilst I was perched on a sofa bed. Glamourous it is not

So to cheer us up and help us on our way, I want your best poker/gambling/sports jokes on this thread please....Make us smile!

Atkin has virtually doubled up

on a board of Q-3-10-10 he check raises Christopher Christophi's 2,500 bet to 5,500 which is called

He then shoves the 10 river and his opponent passes. Atkin flashes a Queen

Darren Martin has doubled through the extravagantly-attired Adebayo Odetoyinbo

Blind on blind Martin checked post a Q-Q-6 flop and Ade shoved 7-6 off

Martin called quicker than a very quick thing with Q-J suited

Ade was quiet for a whole 30 seconds following this outcome. Wonders never cease

Rupinder Bedi 17,000

Justin o'Shuaghnessy 52,000

Whenever I pass byronkincaid's table Penly is scooping. Will find out at the break but I think he is running over the table

Lucy Rokach doubles through John Eames to 65,000. Jacks on a 9-3-Q-3-7 board

A bit of banter after this hand

Eames is saying "I don't know why you'd want to gamble, I'm re-raising there with Queens, Ace-King or higher" presumably pre-flop "I'd flat your raise with tens, yet you want to get Jacks in pre"

I don't think Rokach has passed Jacks pre for decades!

ACTION ON Nevilles table

Paul (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) Gourlay (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=325) shove a flop of  3s  Qs 2d ,  Called by Tasos and Keith (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1685) Johnson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1685), Turn comes  Ts and goulay sighs.... check check from Tasos and Keith as they still have chips back ... River  2c ... Now at this point, Gourlay shows players on other table his cards and anyone can see that this river has helped him big time .... Tassos announces all in, Johnson says he cant call because of Gourlays reactions ... and passes

Tassos has  Qc Qd for the house ...

But Gourlay was holding  2s 2h for rivered QUADS.

TD ruled that Gourlay was out of order for showing his cards and reminded him that its one player to the hand.

Tassos not happy because he feels Gourlays actions cost him a pay off with his hand ...

As if to prove Gatso's point, Lucy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=251) Rokach (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=251) is out in a bit of a head-scratcher

James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=185) Browning (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=185) limps

Lucy completes the small blind with Q8

Will Martin checks the big with QJ

flop Q-J-x is checked round

turn is an innocuous 2

Lucy bets 2,500, Martin makes it 6,000 and Browning passes

Lucy shoves for a lot, 50,000 or so

Martin instas, and rises to over 100,000 chips as Lucy is drawing totally dead

flop Jack high, Dell checks, Fenton bets 6000. Dingdell "all in"

Fenton folds A10

Barry Neville is steaming a bit

He just bet 10,900 onto a 15,000 pot after the river, from the small blind

board J-K-6-K-3

and was met by a resounding all in from Raahid Saadat for 35,000 more

He passed.

Last seen standing away from the table, shaking his head. Not yet blaming his neighbour though

So, the "In-Poker" TV Crew have a Call-Time of 6pm Sunday, to be at DTD to Film the Final Table of this baby. Is that a bit early? Should we arrive a little later? Or even earlier?

Seriously, if it were your Call, & you had to send a Crew from London to Film the Final, when do you think the Final will be? Sunday Evening? Sunday afternoon? Saturday Evening?

72 left, and there has been no blind pressure at all to lose 125 players

I think we'll hit a final on Saturday, certainly 6pm Sunday is way too late

Seriously, if it were your Call, & you had to send a Crew from London to Film the Final, when do you think the Final will be? Sunday Evening? Sunday afternoon? Saturday Evening?

My rough guesttimate - 3,880,800 in play divide that by nine for the average FT stack =431,111. At the 2008 WSOP main event the avg stack for the final was 63 big blinds so 431,111/63 = 6843. So the final should be reached at either level 17 or 18. Currently on level 7 so there should be another 20 hours play before the final is reached.

Looking at that perhaps DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) will take the decision to play down to nine on Friday and start the final at 2pm Saturday?

In a large pot blind on blind there is 50,000 in the middle between Chris (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) Bruce (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=65) and Kai (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1817) Paulsen (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1817) when I arrive at the scene, late as ever

Chris has pushed the 4s 8d 7d flop for 40,000 more and Kai thinks for a good five minutes in the big blind

He folds with a resigned sigh

Here's Chris scooping this importnat pot for him

Barry Neville is down to 20,000. In his own words "doing chunks here mate"

Steady on Barry now, control those tilt instincts, get back on track. Don't think of that neighbour. Or Mad Turk's percentage. Or the car failing the MOT. Or those suits you've got to flog.

Think of gambolling sheep, poppies in fields, Hillsborough on an August afternoon beating the blades, singing "Mustang Sally" on the karaoke, bouncing out a load of kids from the nightclub you are on the door of, writing your autobiography.

Go on, Recover, and ship it.

Any chance of a picture and chip count for Waheed (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1690) Ashraf (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1690) please guys?

Here he is. I explained it was for Cos. What I could not explain was the raised eyebrow, slight chuckle and snort that followed

where?

if you haven't figured it out yet you are putting images up in 2 different ways. the ones with image dimensions in the tags (e.g. [img width=600 height=359]) are the ones that aren't showing up. the ones with just [img] are fine

valet hunt please kev

Barry has not had a good day, he has 40k ... average is 60k

Knowing Baz, he wont let himself get too short, so expect news after the break of a double up or busto.

turn  Ac check check

Neil Cartwright wins a nice pot with two black Aces on a king high board against Zbigniew Pakleza. After the river it goes check-check and Cartwright declares "one pair". Zbigniew flips top pair but laughs when the Aces are exposed

Sometimes life is unfair. Kev has gone off on "norkage and valet hunt" with the camera. His parting instruction to me was "you do the poker, I may be a while!"

Don't worry, I'll get my own back. I might tell the update audience what he was saying in his sleep last night

A clue is found in this picture

Lively hand between James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=184) Atkin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=184) and Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1676) Andersson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1676)

Atkin had raised pre on the button, Andersson in the big blind calling

flop and turn saw significant action

the board read

as the river brought a third heart and Atkin bet 15,000 into a 25,000 pot, when I took the above snap

Andersson dwelled, half his stack to call, worried about the flush I assume

Eventually he did so with the flopped straight...only for Atkin to reveal the flopped straight. Chop Chop!

Atkin "I was praying you had 8-10"

Andersson "I was hoping you hadn't rivered a flush on me"

Daniel (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2951) Nutt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2951) has taken his first setback for sometime

James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=184) Atkin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=184) raised UTG, got the standard four callers

Post a  7c 5h 8d flop it was checked to Nutt on the button who bet 7,000, all pass except...

Andreas (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1676) Andersson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1676) check raised all in for 35,000

Nutt deliberated and called with the Non-Nutt draw-tastic  6c 5c

Andersson turned over  9c 9s for over-pair with th added benefit of being some of Nutt's outs

turn  Jc had Andersson shaking his head

river a brick,  Kd

and Anderrson doubles up

The rise and fall of Reginald Matt Perrins

He just got a tad unlucky

on a flop of    Ks  Ad   8c he bet and was called by Anthony Horn

Turn was  Qs .... Horn bet and was re raised by Perrins

he dwelled for ages and made the call ....

River  2d  and Horn Checks ..... Perrins shoves

Insta call from Horn who was holding  Ts Js Turned the straight and made a straight flush draw as well !!

Perrins had a rather unfortunate  Ac Qh

Back home- great tourney. Same as usual at the moment and these tourneys. Can't get anything going- beg borrow and steal may way to staying even but never saw any hands at all apart from Ace rag, king rag etc.

Albert knocked me out- limping every pot, folding everytime someone raises obv he limps and I shove A8 when short and he finds A10

FML!

Barry & Peter Charalararararalambous are verbally sparring ... Barry has renamed peter "anadin" ... he reckons he has shares in the company, cos he is giving everyone a "fookin 'eadache"

Jim bookiebasher Moutl calls me over proudly, he now has 110,000

Doing very well now is James Atkin, over 100,000 and sitting to the left of big stack William Martin

Mo Muse is causing everyone on table Dingdell problems, also 100,000. Aggressive "at it"player on form and hitting cards too

Barry Neville keeps tangling with Saadat

This time he raises in the cut off and Saadat calls in the big blind

flop J-10-7 Check check

turn 9 bet 3500 by Saadat, called by Bazza

river 2

check check

Saadat AQ

Bazza A9

He shoved over a bet on the turn from Jim Moult ... its 48k into a pot of around 20k

the board is reading  Tc  7c Qd Qc ... Jim is agonising over his decision, he really doesnt want to pass ....

Karl Fenton doubles up David Wall

Karl was stealing with  Jh 8h in the cut off

David had  Qc Qs in the big blind

I arrived to see a  3h Jd 5d 2s board

David bet a weak looking 6,000

Karl raised to 20,000

David pushed

Karl had to call for the small amount extra

river  2c

alun  Ad 3d

board  8c 8s Ac 4c 5c

and Skalie takes out both players.

Wood knows he is behind with A10, but doesn't think he can pass for what is in the pot and what he would have left

He makes a crying call and Penly has two black jacks which hold to take him over 100,000 again

Dingdell has 96,000

She has just made John Sadler fold 4-4 on a A-J-4 flop

raise Dingdell,re-raise Sadler, push Dingdell, fold

Dingdell can't tell me what she had, but had a grin the size of a very large Cheshire cat. I suspect she was losing, and picked her opponent the tightest player on the table very well!

update on James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2681) Mitchell (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2681)? thx

here's his stack, guesstimate over 200,000

James is a formidable player. His stack has gone steadily upwards all day with hardly a blip. Quiet table presence, great image I expect..and probably at it like a good'un!!

Approaching a break with one two hour level to go

chip counts will follow at the end of the break as usual

Please stick with us if you can, 42 left and the last level could be hairy as people manoeuvre to come back with a stack, or not, as the case may be

David Wall has 110,000

Mo is not amused as Dingdell treats him to a dose of his own medicine

Mo raises with KQ

Dingdell calls with 9-3

flop 9-Q-x is checked

Turn 9

Dingdell gets paid off in a 30,000 pot

Ding learned well from the 3-9 master. It NEVER fails.

Dingdell has 96,000

She has just made John (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2646) Sadler (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2646) fold 4-4 on a A-J-4 flop

raise Dingdell,re-raise Sadler, push Dingdell, fold

Dingdell can't tell me what she had, but had a grin the size of a very large Cheshire cat. I suspect she was losing, and picked her opponent the tightest player on the table very well!

LOL. You so hate to see an ace when holding bottom set in these situations. Honestly...!

Can i have a pic and chip count of Mr Anon please??

Here is Mr Anon, known to his friends as matey-boy

He's just been embroiled in a bit of controversy actually

on a J-Q-5 board Chris Bruce bets 12,000 and Mr Anon makes it 36,000

After a couple of minutes Mr Anon, who I can exclusively reveal has an English Accent, calls the clock on Bruce

Bruce is given a minute and passes

he says "thats classy, you set me in for  effectively my tournament life and after two minutes call the clock on me, you %$$."

Mr Anon looks equally aggrieved, Chris is fuming, the TD is hovering, I am poised pen in hand and most important of all I still don't have a clue who he is

I know his name, but would have to delete this update if I revealed it

I wonder what impact me posting his pic will have on his deliberations with the CSA? ;dingdell;

I have just been watching John Conroy closely for about an orbit of blinds ... he has headphones on yet his eyes are darting everywhere looking and making mental notes on each players reactions to flops, turns etc ... you can see his mind constantly working overtime... its amazing to watch.

He'd never sell more than 100% of himself, he's not like that.

I think £1k is a bit out of his BR atm, and he really wanted to play this tourney because of the overlay. Nothing wrong with selling 3/4 of himself, he's probably freerolling  the tourney which is fine if he can get people to stake him!

You know what I love about DTD more than the fact that is is an awesome, superbly run poker venue ....  its the friendliness of the staff ... you never see enough smiling people at other venues, smiles are commonplace here.

David Wall has 110,000

Mo is not amused as Dingdell treats him to a dose of his own medicine

Mo raises with KQ

Dingdell calls with 9-3

flop 9-Q-x is checked

Turn 9

Dingdell gets paid off in a 30,000 pot

Oh how I wish this were true - it was the other way round - he had the 9 and I played it  like a donkey.  But thanks for making me look a bit more exciting!
