What's the nearest train station to the Alea? Is it walkable?

Dont be silly, get the train. Cheap if you book now and you can drink all weekend. :)

I can drink all weekend anyway, car will just be parked up. If parking is free then it'll probably be cheaper to drive, and I dont have to worry about lugging my girl suitcase around on the tube and can pack more shoes :)up

just in case it's of interest to anyone else, looks like parking is £7 a day at Holiday Inn. I think I'm going to follow the wise words of the Divine Comedy and take the National Express :)up

The holiday inn express car park is also ales car park. Ales hand out validated tickets to customers. All you do is get one of those on the Sunday and you have free parking!

ah ok - so if I grab a validated ticket on Sunday will it let me out of the car park Monday morning?

I'm not 100% sure actually.

It'd deffo get you out on the sunday. And the casino doesn't close til like 6am, so presumably it'll get you out then too. But I've never been there that late with my car. Whether they'll work the next day I'm not sure...

prob not as the casino shuts at 6.

i have left my car overnight there once and had to pay the morning after, i think only if you go back after 6pm next day can you cheat with the validated ticket

ah ok. worst case scenario I'll grab a ticket on Sunday, leave the car park then come back and only pay for one night!

yeah maybe

I live local so park in the armouries carpark when i go to Alea, pretty sure it was like £7 for overnight but maybe wrong. They probably have a discount at the hotel as you say
