Details of our latest deepstack event. Lets hope this time the weather doesn't cause an overlay ! We only expect to attract players within a 30 mile radius so hopefully we should be busy. Super 50 Sat, 9th January 2010 + Sun, 10th January 2010 Premiering on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of January, DTD is launching a new monthly festival to add to our Deepstack and 20Twenty events. That's 3 monthly festivals each and every month at Dusk Till dawn. We pride ourselves on offering a range of tournaments from £10 up to £300 every month at DTD, to suit the different range and bank rolls of our players. This encouraged us to create a monthly festival aimed at a slightly different player to that of the Deepstack and the 20Twenty. Based on our successful weekly £50 tournament, the Super 50 will consist of the same buy-in, with double the chips, giving our £50 players an opportunity to play a more prestigious deepstack event, for the same price - and more importantly, guaranteed at £10,000 ! Super50 Event Details Saturday 2pm £50 + £6 No Limit Holdem £10,000 GTD - Reg closes 2:48pm 24 Minute Clock 10,000 Chips Capped at 270 Sunday 2pm £50 + £6 No Limit Holdem £10,000 GTD - Reg closes 2:48pm 24 Minute Clock 10,000 Chips Capped at 270 Online registration closes at 10am on the day of the event. We hope this will be a popular addition to our 20/20 and Deepstack weekends and provides a 10,000 chip event for all bankrolls each month. Think I will be playing Sunday. Can I ask why the 24 minute clock and not the 30 used in the 20/20 and £150 deepstacks? Get a few knocked out a bit earlier and they play the other comps or maybe cash. This is not DTD being sneaky it's just pure economic sense. The reg fees on the £100 and £150 are £12 and £18 respectively whereas on the Super 50 is only £6 which means we will be running it at a loss. 2. I didnt expect the 6 min difference to make a noticeable difference to the dealer cost or rake taken on the cash games. Even with the weather over 350 players turned up to play our first Super 50 , we hit the 270 cap at 12.30pm and started with 40 alternates and turned away another 40 the majority of which bought in to tomorrows . Only 4 of the alternates got in but they had 4 cash games to play in while waiting. We already have over 100 registered for tomorrow so buy in online up till 10am tomorrow or get here early to secure your seat. First prize is £4233 , not bad for £50 lol. Due to the overwhelming success and the gap that this event fills in the market we have decided to repeat it next weekend . There will be two differences , we will open at 1pm and start at 3pm , this helps with staffing issues at such short notice but we will also have to reduce the 270 cap , the guarantee will remain at £10,000 but the cap will be just 207 , if we can rustle up a few extra dealers we will try to accommodate a few more. There will be two differences , we will open at 1pm and start at 3pm , this helps with staffing issues at such short notice but we will also have to reduce the 270 cap , the guarantee will remain at £10,000 but the cap will be just 207 , if we can rustle up a few extra dealers we will try to accommodate a few more. This is pure madness. Reducing the cap means more risk of not getting to play so less people turning up. If more turn up they just get pissed off and don't come again. I can't understand why you have a cap in place for these new comps when it is the first one. If it's to make sure the comp finishes on time fair enough but I don't think that is an issue here. Surely if you have extra dealers to cope with a bigger field for the first one you then have a guage for the second one? Yes you might end up having to send a few dealers home and waste a few quid but surely that's better than turning 80 people away? I understand that sorting staff for these is a major issue but turning people away should be a much bigger concern. There were only 7 available this weekend so we could only facilitate 270 , we are planning to train another 15 dealers but this takes time. Our rotas are done at least 2 weeks in advance so some of those that had next weekend off have made other plans , we know we can cover 207 and if we can get more we will announce that the cap has been increased. We don't want to turn players away but you can't just assume 360 are going to turn up and even if we had planned for that the knock on effect to our evening tournaments for our regulars would be disastrous with both events having to be capped which is also unfair. With 270 we know that as the tournament breaks down the dealers spare combined with those due in for the evening will allow us to run our events to their normal capacity. We are the only venue in the country that still runs all their weekly schedule along side festival events. In general considering we run up to 4 tournaments simultaneously as well as cash games i think we do a good job. Also bare in mind if all our dealers are dealing the tournament which we operate at a loss we can't have cash games running that keep the club viable.
