Title: Purple Parking - Park & ride
Post by: Junior Senior on January 12, 2010, 10:04:08 PM
Going on hols soon and need to drive to Heathrow and leave my car for 12 days.  I see Purple Parking offer some good deals on-line where they park your car for you and then bring it back on arrival.  Has anyone used this service? Thoughts / opinions?

cheers

Every time I go from Heathrow, they are very good and reliable. I normally get them to drop my car at the terminal for me when I get back to make it easier. But its only 15 mins in the bus anyway.

read quite a few reviews on the net and there are a lot of bad ones.  It looks like a great service and was going to select the option for them to bring my car to me when we get back but having 2nd thoughts now.

interested in all views.

I've used them 10+ times including only 2 days ago, never had a problem. Remember people are way more likely to mention a bad experience than a good one, human nature............

never heard of or used this company before but i do remember a number of years ago a firm doing this only the paked your car where ever they wanted, on a couple of occaisions getting parking tickets for illegal parking and on another occasion the driver forgetting where he had parked it couldnt find it to return to owner

was years ago and again i doubt this company did that but i would never trust anyone with parking my car

People are often asking about airport parking.

Here's a 25% discount code for those who might need it, runs out pretty soon though.

Seems like these guys went pop recently and someone else has taken them over and the price of parking at Heathrow has gone up significantly as a result. Anyone any decent suggestions? Have actually booked a return train and premier inn the night before for my next holiday, a lot cheaper than any parking option. Suits me as I like the train, but just wondering what else might be out there that I might have missed?

Be very careful Woodsey, Airport Parking has become a very dodgy industry, the horror stories are everywhere.

Where possible, use the "official" Airport Parking, though even that is hard to tell the wheat from the chaff.

Used Just Valet for the last 2 years, and they're very good.

Booked it direct a couple years back, and through https://www.holidayextras.co.uk last year, as they had some kind of code.

You might well have done but they went into administration recently and whoever took over increased the prices significantly.
