I'll be reluctantly staying at my house. Unless anyone can come up with an excuse for SWMBO for getting a hotel room when DTD is ~7 miles away?

Best deal I can see on Laterooms is probably the Welbeck at 48/night. Decent hotel right in the center (well, next to Rock City anyway :)). Right side of the center for an easy taxi ride out to DTD.

3 spare rooms at my house.

Anybody needing somewhere cheap to stay might like to try the Holiday Inn.

Been holding off booking anywhere due to a) waiting for potential roomy to confirm and b) to see where the majority of people are planning on staying. Seems to be a serious lack of enthusiasm this time round though - come on people! Where are people planning on holing up? What time are we hitting the hotel bar Friday afternoon?

If everyone's dotted about the place I'll probs just book somewhere close to the train station and cab it around.

just out of interest.....

let's say I'm sat at Dawn's table and I'm unhappy with her blatant disregard for the rules of our beautiful game and make a complaint to the TD. what would be the likely outcome:

a) Dawn gets a time penalty
b) Dawn gets banned from the game
c) Dawn gets banned from DTD
d) everyone laughs at me, and we carry on

I will be staying for 3 nights

I will NOT be singing
I will find a lap dancing club (despite Matt's protestations)
I wll forget most of the weekend
I will be sober
I will be hanging out of taxi windows
I will find a vertically challenged person on a bike
I will be available for roshambo lessons
I will put stupid answers on the quiz
I will NOT be up at 10am so my room can be cleaned
I will NOT wear a dress for the football

Which of the above is untrue

I will be sober.
I will remember all of the weekend.
I will not be available for roshambo lessons.
I will not put stupid answers on the quiz. Easy trophies, innit? ;) (It must be, I have one already!)
I will not be up for the football.
I will not have gone to bed by 10am. Breakfast, then bed, ldo.
I will not be singing.

Seriously though, I might not be there. And this also applies to Joobs. Sorry guys, but our darling landlord decided she didn't want a lodger any more, and gave us notice today. So we are probably going to need our money to pay deposits/rent etc. Happy birthday to me (well, in a week).

Train fares: http://www.eastcoast.co.uk - £25 return so far from London...if people get confused, PM me and ill see what I can find.

Hotels: See Claw's post. Travelodge Riverside is £150 for 3 nights if you book 3 separate nights through their £19 promo. Will post others I find.

Driving: If you have a drivers licence but no car/insurance and fancy it, http://www.enterprise.co.uk have a weekend deal where you hire a car from Fri to Mon and get it pretty cheap - £35 for the smallest car for 3 days plus if you want it Thursday to Tuesday, they take a little bit more off the standard rate. All they do for cover is take £200 off you which gets refunded when you return the car provided there's no damage.

Flying: Obv airport is EMA.

As I understand it Friday is the pre blonde bash drinking session and there is sufficient time to drinky drinky that nobody is inhibited in the having of a good time by any lack of intoxication. You want to have some pre pre drinks? Are you sure this is a good idea?

Aee you really envisaging a scenario where you are gigging it up in some Nottingham nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning rueing your relative sobriety and cursing all the gods of the parthenon that you didn't have half a bottle of gin before you got on the train?

flights from aberdeen are on one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAe_Jetstream_41 - direct and cost £180.

trains are cheaper, but longer (7-8hrs including changes), how much time do you need for changes?

There's nothing flight wise from Inverness without a change or 2.

trying to work out the best way to fly into brum or luton

Iron Il come and pick u up in my van!

it would be cheaper and quicker by train than to pay for all that petrol fck sake 1000+ miles of petrol would kill the enviorment aswell

Train fares: http://www.eastcoast.co.uk - £25 return so far from London...if people get confused, PM me and ill see what I can find.

just booked my train tickets - £20.25 was cheapest I could get.  Anyone else training it up from London deffo use the eastcoast website - worked out quite a few quid cheaper than the trainline.

lol - when I tried to make the post last night it didn't appear, so I tried to make it again, and it didn't appear. Then blonde crashed.  Guess they got lost on the server or something.  Now I'm sure I just tried to post this a few minutes ago but it's not appeared again, so if this comes up twice it's not my fault :D

You're probs in one of the five that've been mentioned on here. I'll ring round for you if you like because I like speaking to receptionists and I like doing favours, just ship us your credit card details as they'll probs want to confirm identity before releasing booking info.

Have changed my booking from Castle Marina to Gateway as it was a lot cheaper and Dunk's not going anymore to room with the muppet.Anyone else staying there ? The saving will come in handy since I've just paid out for a new PC plus a holiday and then the spending money for this.

They've already took payment as it was on a deal for early payment does this mean I can't cancel in advance it doesn't say this is the case but seems strange they've already took payment,is it bad Claire ? Not that fussy as it's just a bed and I'll be mortal for the whole time I spend in the room but still if it's dirty then I don't want to stay there.

no it's not awful mond - fine for somewhere to kip - but it's not 'really nice' either.  just looked very tired from what i can remember from the one time i stayed there.

just looked it up on trip advisor - mixed reviews - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Search?q=gateway+nottingham&geo=&returnTo=__2F__&hid=244802&verbose=&hur=&o=10&ssrc=u&exc=n
