Well I had hoped someone would have posted the result by now, but they ain't, so I shall trot down there tonight & find out the score, & put it on here later tonight.

I really can't recall who was still in when I exited. Kim Costa, George Geary, Mosam, 6-3 Man, Know-It-All-Norman, Nice Paul, Ed the Student, but that's the only guys I remember.

Bustees (is that a word?) included Julian Yoyo Thew, Ian Belly Oldershaw, Lawrence Gosney, Ali Do Lally Mallu, 4 Fingers Jimmy, Ali Bag of Bollocks, The Godfather, & Lucky Jim, Any Ace Will Do Jack, Orlando, Oscar,Pete Singleton, & Uncle Tom Cobbley.

Log on later, & I should have it by then.

Hi all,

I'm afraid I don't know all the names of the people in the final, but the top two spots went to-

1. Me! -Andrew Woods- 7.2k
2. Ed Baily- 5.5k

We didn't quite finish before 5am so it went to chip count, I had about 85% of the chips at the end.

Woodsey

Congratulations - bloody marvellous! Nice for Ed the Student, too.

Another decent payday goes to a blondeite.......

85% of the chips? Awesome! .

Post by: Ironside on June 06, 2005, 06:57:40 PM
85% of the chips is surely worth more than 7.2k espically if guy in 2nd had less than 15% and got 5.5k either that or they are working some strange chip count rule

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: redsimon on June 06, 2005, 07:07:51 PM
They decide chip counts by adding up the remaining money and giving each player the places left money ie two left both get 2nd. They then divvy up the remainder according to % chips, with the proviso that 1st cannot win more than the original first prize.

Hope thats clear  :o

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: Ironside on June 06, 2005, 07:16:54 PM
thats the way it should be done

how many was left at the chip count 2 or 3?

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: tikay on June 06, 2005, 07:27:58 PM
No idea, but will find out for you. I know the comp made 26,300, & Gala added 1,000, & 20th to 11th each got 250.

But that hardly helps solve the equation......

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: Nightfly on June 06, 2005, 08:00:47 PM
for once i don't actually know the full result but i can tell you that there were two left at chip count

Also a deal was done with four left which was roughly as follows

4th and third both get 3000 with the short fall on these prizes coming straight off the top which meant first prize reduced by about 1850
2nd Prize would stay as it was (5k approx) and the winner would get the remainder (8K approx)

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: Woodsey on June 06, 2005, 08:35:50 PM
I can confirm that is correct. Whilst 2 of us had a reasonable chip lead over the other 2, we agreed 3rd and 4th should get 3k each to come off the top prize. With blinds that big anything can happen!

Post by: ifm on June 06, 2005, 11:04:11 PM
Is that the official result....err no.......can't be cuz 3rd and 4th got the same. So it's the actual result....but then again Woodsey said he got 7,200 and that says 7,720.........so who's right?
Hmmm.
I thought you could only publish the official result, and then we've got the cardroom manager? Nightfly talking about deals which are not supposed to be acknowledged by casinos????
I give up, i have an idea.....why don't all casinos stick to the same system  ;D

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: Ironside on June 06, 2005, 11:22:39 PM
it the actual result

the amount woodsey might have been 7200 ( i might have typed it in wrong) can say for certain as i had to delete my in box as it was full

Post by: Woodsey on June 06, 2005, 11:23:38 PM
I got 7280 to be exact, I'm sure the last message is probably a typo about 4 handed down the line

Just to clear up the result.

The typo was mine, Woodsey got 7,280.

The amounts stated are what the guys were paid.

The "official results only" policy is that of Grosveno Casinos, Gala report what was actually paid.

And many thanks to Ironside for relaying all this.

I have been assured by Gala tonight that in future they will either send me the results, or post them on the blonde Forum. Excellento!

Yet grosvenor say it's a gaming board directive to pay the players EXACTLY what they are supposed to and deals cannot be discussed at the table or recognised by the casino at all.
It is annoying that one casino says it is forced to do one thing while others don't seem to interpret things the same way

Back to my old hobby horse, a governing body for poker would standardise all these anamolies & ensure all results were reported on a like for like basis. It may well be correct that Grosvenor interpret the gaming Board's wishes as to mean that only the "Official Result" - as opposed to the "Real Result" can be reported. How bizarre is that?

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: Bongo on June 07, 2005, 01:12:10 AM
It could be Grosvenor have implemented the new objective before any other groups (and before they are required to by law)?

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: ifm on June 07, 2005, 01:22:05 AM
Grosvenor brought it in on April 5th

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: tikay on June 07, 2005, 01:24:39 AM
I am quite sure that IS the case, Grosvenor are very up to speed & compliant in these matters. But that's not my point.

I just think it is ridiculous, if indeed that is what the Gaming Board are saying, that reporting the "actual" result is not allowed! Only in England, eh?

Title: Re: live update from notts 100 rebuy
Post by: ifm on June 07, 2005, 01:40:45 AM
The rediculous part i find is that you MUST leave the table to make a deal, and even then they will only pay the 'official' prize leaving you to pool the money and resplit it. I've seen someone who got a saver stand around for over an hour waiting for the end of a tourny to get his money!!!!!
As you've said before, WHO'S MONEY IS IT??

Just want to clear this one up.

the casino only pay me for 40 hours per week and for the rest of the time i consider myself a normal person in my own right ;)

as such the information which i posted on the forum should not be regarded as an official company line.

i am genuinely interested in the growth of poker in the uk and contribute to this forum as such. i had hoped to remain semi-anonymous on here but i guess the cat is out of the bag :o (maybe i should go into hiding)

i find these different interpretation of rules and directives just as confusing as the rest of you. But i think that on the whole forum readers want to know what actually happened rather than what should have happened.

Well said Nightfly, & all the Notts regulars really appreciate the continual efforts you are making to improve the product at Gala Notts. If you follow the example of Yogi & Wolfy at Blackpool & contribute to the Forums - giving us YOUR side of things - it can only be for the good of poker, you, us, & Gala.

Buy you consider yourself "a normal person".....now that's pushing it a bit....

The gaming board inspector for the Blackpool Area, or wherever his area is has repeatedly said to me. If you advertise a prize structure then that is what you have to pay. I disagree like I nearly always seem to do when he is allowed to speak to me. Been over a year since he was last allowed down by the Casino Management.

But that is a different story. It didn't matter what was said to him he wanted the official prize structure paying out. So we do. Grosvenor introduced it across all casino's with the advent of television coverage etc. We don't mind you dealing but want the games playing to a conclusion. it is better for our advertising etc. We all know deals are done. And yes before you all say we wouldnt do deals if the payout structure was flatter I KNOW. I KNOW I KNOW. Try telling some in the Know that tho.

Yogi

Nice post Yogi.

Flatter Prize Structures is one of my crusades - we gotta win ONE of 'em.... I mean, who does the Prize Money belong to? Don't start me off again.......

If comps have to be played to conclusion perhaps more of a case needs to be made for earlier starts. I'm talking about 7pm rather than 8pm and 9.30 is way too late to get started with 100+ runners in a rebuy.

I would rather not deal at all. If I'm at a table where I feel Im SIGNIFICANTLY out classed and I've gotten very lucky to have more than my share of chips based on ability then I'll take a chop but generally I'd be more inclined to play it out because I'm always trying to play in games where I'm not a massive under dog to start with.
