Title: DTD £300 Deepstack - June 2010
Post by: KarmaDope on June 05, 2010, 12:41:08 PM
Hi all and once again, welcome to the UK's premier poker club Dusk Till Dawn for their flagship £300 Deepstack tournament. For newcomers to the updates, this is a £300 tournament and each player gets 10,000 chips and blind levels are 45 minutes long. It is a 2-day event, with play roughly ending at around 1-2am generally and returning to DTD tomorrow at 2pm, where we play down to a finish. The winner normally takes home £20,000+ so for £300, it's got to be worth a shot, right?

Doors open at 2pm and cards will be in the air at 3pm sharp. Late registration is available until the end of Level 2 I think (I'm on a train headed to Nottingham so I'll double check when I arrive), so I would estimate that you would need to be there by 4:30pm at the very latest. Due to the World Series of Poker, this month's tournament is guaranteed at a not so insignificant £60,000, so 200 players are required to meet that guarantee. A quick glance at the DTD website tells me that there are 87 players currently registered, so there could be some value in this tournament!

In the hotseat today along with myself, for the very first time, is none other than Luton stalwart and well known blonde Vinny "celtic" Calenti, so please join us here from about 2:30pm and support Vinny in his debut, along with any players you know are going to take a shot at the meaty first prize. One of those players is none other than our own seven2unsuited, who won a seat in the blonde Champion of Champions final in March and takes his shot today. Very best of luck to him and we will be watching him very closely as he hopefully goes all the way to victory.

Good luck to all playing today and I'll be back at 2:30pm to start the day off.

Good afternoon all from dusk til dawn, 1 lift, 3 trains and two cabs later i have finally made it to Europe's premier poker venue. The place is spookily empty at the moment, mainly because it's closed, but i imagine once the doors are opened at 2pm it will get busier.

109 registered now, 200 is the break even mark on the guarentee. You can buy in during the 1st three levels so you have up until 5.15pm if you want to come along.

As Adam said, we will be keeping a close eye on blondeite (seven2unsuited) Joe 'Packy' Bonner, or JO-BO as he is affectionately known in Glasgow. A few blondes have a % of him in this so would be good if he could somehow find a cash in him....

Anyway, if there is anyone in particular you would like info/pics for then feel free to post and we will see what we can do. Am gonna try and do a few interviews later so any requests give us a shout.

That's all for now, my not so glamourous assistant Sharplea will be arriving soon and we will be back with more info on runners etc once we are open.

Oh and come and say hello to us if you get a chance, we are right at the back (near the serving hatch to the kitchen, the waitresses better be quick or it will be gg the order's!! Just so you are not confused, i'm the good looking one out of the two of us....

Guess I should make a move and try to get down there.

Any idea where I'm sitting? Would be nice to not have to check when I get there.

JoBo (seven2unsuited) has arrived and been involved in early action.

Lawrence Townsend makes it 200 utg which is called in 3 places. Gets to JoBo who makes it 1000, which is called by Townsend and Jalal Rassoul.

Flop is  2h Js 4h

Checked by Townsend and JoBo fires out 2k. Both players fold after long dwells.

Thewy. As I took this, and headed over to say hi, he limped UTG+1 after UTG limped. By the time the BB checked, 5-6 players had called. They saw a Aspades 8h Td flop, and it was checked to Julian, who bet out 150. 4 players called and they all saw a 8d turn. Again, Julian bet out, this time 400. He got 2 callers this time, and the dealer put out the 3h river. Julian fired for a third time, making it 1400 to go this time. Kevin McCann snap-called, and the other player folded. Thewy flipped 8c 8s for turned Quads and McCann mucked, claiming to have flopped a set and got away cheaply.

Mr Bedi just called a river bet with Ace high. He was behind.

Back at table JoBo, lots seem to be happening with most pots being 3 bet pre. Jalal Rasoul flat called a 4 bet pre for 4500, leaving 3k back. Then got the rest of his stack in on a 8 high flop with 7's v Stephen Lovatt's aces. blank turn and a 7 on the river proving that live poker is indeed rigged.

Benjamin Turnstill seems to have acquired a 17k stack from somewhere. Have heard a rumour he got lucky.

Commercial interlude

These updates are only possible thanks to the support of DTD itself. They can be justified only if (more) members sign up to dtd poker via the banners eg over there .....>>>>>>> and (more) play online (more often) with DTD via us. Please do so, if you can. Thanks

After all, celtic needs feeding on weekends such as these. This doesn't come cheap.

sharplea here; my lappy has just overheated on the felt. Lovely.

I have details of the Turnstill hand to come, along with pics of Kim Chang, the Newcastle contingent and a Mr McDermott - all requests. All I have to do is fix my computer.

Easier said than done.

Anyway, Matt Russell is having fun with one particular opponent, Fan Cao. Firstly, Matt raised UTG to 450 at 75/150 and got 2 callers before Cao squeezed to 2100 from the button. The blinds folded only to see Matt move all in pretty quickly. It got folded round to Cao who counted out the call (6825 more) but eventually decided discretion was the better part of valour and folded.

Matt gave a wry smile and tapped the table as he mucked what he claimed to be 7d 8d - so anything from Kings upwards, right? ;)

The very next hand, Cao made it 700 from the cutoff after UTG limped. Matt called from the BB as everyone else folded and this time we saw a flop. Which was 2c 2h 2d! Matt checked and Cao fired 1100, only for Matt to grin and fold face up, showing 3h 3d. Cao raked in the pot as celtic jokingly remarked "3 undercards on the board and he still folds on the flop!"

Right, the Rookie hand from earlier...

I joined it on the flop. The flop read Th Ac 9c and Rooks had bet 575 after being checked to. His opponent, whom we believe to be Frank Taal, then check-raised to 1500. Rooks flatted and the dealer produced the turn, the 9h. Taal bet out 2,000 and Rooks tanked before flatting again. The river was the 3s and Taal confidently threw out a 2500 bet. Rooks again went into the tank but this time, he moved all in, covering Taal. Tall thought about it and decided to call.

Taal's hand:

But...Rookie's hand:

Which lead to this, and Taal heading out the door:

Rooks was on about 20k after this hand.

Matt Russell has just got knocked out. 4 bet all in pre with AK for 6.6k, Jonathon Butters calling the additional 4.5k following his 3 bet to 2100 with pocket 8's. No help for Matt i'm afraid.

Last months winner Michelle Bennett was involved in a nice 3 way pot. I arrived to see the small blind leading out for 2100 into a pot of about the same on a 2h 4c 6s Qs flop. The big blind flat called and michelle made it 7000 total. The small blind eventually flat called and the big blind eventually folded.

The river was the scary 5s which went check check and michelle claimed the pot with a set of 4's.

On a board of 7d 8s Jd Kd, a young man we believe to be Jamie Giles was all in for 25k over the top of Karl Snow's 2500 bet into a pot of 8.5k. Snow was in the tank and stayed there for a good 3 minutes before calling and putting Giles at risk.

Giles: Tc 9c
Snow: Td 9d

They had both flopped the nuts, but Snow had redrawn on Giles and turned the flush. The river was a blank Th and Giles stormed off, muttering under his breath about being slowrolled.

Mark Alridge has just knocked Simon Trumper & Daniel Weston. Simon flopped the king high flush, Mark had a set of 4's and Daniel had AK o/s when all the chips flew in on a 4d 5d 6d flop. Mark made a full house on the river and now has over 40,000.

Carl Hoefkens - he of the tattoos from a previous post - has just doubled through Kevin Noble in a rather weird hand. I joined it with Noble betting 2400 into a 5.5k pot on a 7h 6s Td flop after Paul "I win comps at DTD for fun" Pitchford had checked, and Hoefkens went al in for 6k exactly. Pitchford agonisingly folded only to see Noble tank for a good 4-5 minutes, enough time for me to watch Alan Stearn double up through Ossama Akkary with 9-8 against Ossama's 9-7 on a 8-6-4 flop, the turn and river both blanks.

Noble eventually called and showed Aspades Qh to Carl's 8c 8s. The turn and river were 2h and 2d respectively, and Carl is back up to average chips. Paul Pitchford wasn't too happy, however, claiming he folded Jh Jd.

Ann Tran-dinh was put all in by Robin Transin on a flop of Kc 7h 8s Ann duly called for her last 4k with 8c 10c, Robin had 7d 4d. The turn was the 4c giving Robin two pairs but opening up the club re-draw for Ann, which she obviously hit on the river. Much to Robin's disgust.

So to recap, Tran-dinh, was put all in by transin, but he didnt win, and he didn't grin.

Me=Genius imo.

More action at table JoBo that now has Joe Grech on there. Jalal Rasoul limps utg for 300, Mitch makes it 1000 which is called by Joe Grech and Kirit Patel, Jalal also calls and they see a 10h 8d 2s flop. Jalal checks and mitch bets 2650. Joe and Kirit get out the way and Jalal calls. The turn is the 4h. Once again Jalal checks and mitch moves all in for 14.5k. which covers jalal who eventually folds after much consideration.

Oh and JoBo has 12k and has been waiting 20 minutes for a pint of lager. Other than that he is in good spirits.

Last hand before the break, Rookie raised to 800 with 7c 6c and was called by the small & big blinds.

The flop  4c 3c Kc. Both blinds check and rookie bets 1625. sb folds and the bb calls. Turn 9d. BB checks and rooks fires out 3800 and finds the bb min raising him. Rookie shoves his last few k and is called by  Ac x River is a blank and rookie is up to 28k.

Just about to go to 200-400-50.

if you report steve gibsons table you will get lots of good info to update. he just raised pre w/105, got c/r on a 662 flop, floated and took it away on q turn and proudly showed table. Think he is drinking and if it anything similar to the NPF Team Game last month then will be something not to be missed!

I'm gonna go and watch his table for 5 minutes see if i can see something interesting to report.

Rookie has about 40k and now needs to book a hotel room! He also has Alan Stearn two to his right...

Paul Garnham has about the same after getting an early birthday present when he checked his BB with A-4 and the flop came 4-4-7. He bet 800 and saw his opponent shove for 11k with a flush draw. The flush draw missed and Garnham went for a smoke raked in the pot.

Debbie Fox is up to 92,000 and must be the chip leader or very close to it.

Spent 5 minutes at the Rookie / Steve Gibson table. Steve folded 4 hands in a row, told him he had to impress me or i was gonna put on the forum he was a folding machine with no game.

He didn't disappoint on the 5th he 3 bet a button raise from the small blind with J7hh. wp sir.

And we're back.

Blinds are 400/800-100ra and the average chips is 28,617.

Most importantly, Rookie has found somewhere to sleep tonight, so he can focus on winning it all.

Mark Wilson just ran 5-5 against Mickey Wernick's A-K, all in pre, and lost to a rivered straight.

Thewy just doubled through when he raced 8-8 against A-Q, survived the flop, hated the Q turn, and sucked out on the J river for a straight.

Chuckles Bedi has stated that Mickey Wernick and himself will be heads up tomorrow night, despite Mickey having 3k in Level 1 and Bedi's chip stack being at a 15k high all day until 3 hands before I spoke to him. He's on average chips.

Thomas Challener has doubled through, and crippled, Alli Mallu. It looked like they had got it all in pre, with Tom's A-4 prevailing over Alli's K-10 on the A-10-A-10-6 board. Mallu had about 8k left and was shoving every hand afterwards to get a playable stack, so expect him to have 100k or bust in the next half hour.

Seamus Birt departed in circumstances that left his former tablemates a bit, well, puzzled...

I got there to see Seamus head off, with his stack heading in the direction of Remo Rossi. Weirdly enough, the cards in the middle were Jh Jd vs 8c 4h! I asked Jonathan Butters what had happened and he explained:

"Basically, the guy next to me (Peter Rootham) had limped and he (Birt) shoved over the top. The BB found JJ and that was that. Let's give him (Birt) the benefit of the doubt though and say he didn't look."

Birt was short, so I agree with Butters that he probably didn't look. At the end of it all, Rossi has a few more chips, we're a player down and Table 11 is shaking its head collectively.

Steve Gibson news.

He decided at 600-1200 to make it 2600 blind and picked up one caller on the button.

The flop is 3h 4d 6s and fires out 4k, still blind, and gets call. The turn is the Ad. At this point he decides to look, he likes what he sees and shoves for 20k. He gets instal called by the guy otb with A6 for top 2. Steve turns over J5o. 2 on the river sends him up to 90k. Has just been moved next to Paul Garnham who also has big stack.

Has just been moved next to Paul Garnham who also has big stack.

ugh - sick for the guy with A6

As long as he finds the gents, that's his problem.

He's been moved to table Butters/Gardener. This could be slightly interesting, especially if he manages to annoy Butters...

Just been over joking with Joe Grech that he always finds a hand in the blinds when he is short stack. Sure enough he has 10 10 and manages to lose the minimum v A 10. Then in the small blind next hand Rab Bain makes it 5200 utg, folds round to Joe who shoves for 6.5k more, Rab calls.

Joe  7h 7s

Rab  Jc Jd

flop 5h 8d 2s 9d 6c

Joe back up to 25k.

He's quietened down since his table move...chatting away to his mates on the rail but unlike earlier, I can't hear him from my corner.

I was chatting with being spoken at by Steve Gibson when Peter Rootham limped UTG+1. Steve remarked on how "he always limps, I have to limp behind!" before doing exactly that. Mark Aldridge followed suit and Fan Cao made up from the SB, only for BB Dave Smith to move all in for 10k more. Rootham folded sharpish, and Gibson flashed Qc Jc at me before following suit. Aldridge called and Cao got out of the way.

Smith: 9h 9s

Aldridge: 2c 2h

The flop pretty much sealed the deal, 6h 5d 9d giving Smith top set. The turn left Aldridge drawing dead - Kh and the river just rubbed salt into the wounds - 2s

Im actually finding Steve Gibson quite entertaining. Quite harmless imo.

Meanwhile HUGE pot on Grumpy Garnhams table.

Paul raises to 4200 pre and is called in the BB by Kevin Noble.

Flop is  9c 5h 2h

Kevin checks and Paul fires out 5500, Kevin calls.

Turn is  Qs

Kevin checks again and this time Paul fires 13000 into the pot, Kev dwells for about 2 minutes the pushes 32000 total over the line leaving 25k back.

Paul calls the extra 19k after 5 mins.

River is  Kc

Kevin checks and Paul moves all in. He has Kevin covered just. Kevin folds fairly quickly.

Paul on around 130k.

Steve Gibson in BIG pot shocker

He opens to 5100 from early position, folds round to the button Fan Cao who shoves for 42500 total. Steve thinks for two minutes then calls with   Ac Qc

Fan shows,  9h Th.

Flop  Qs  8c  Kh

Turn  3d

River  Jc

Fan doubles up.

Steve down to 50k approx.

In the fun that is the last level, we are often surrounded by all ins left, right, and centre.

Mark Aldridge doubled up Peter Rootham after raising pre with 10-10 and running into a short Peter's A-8. The 3-A-J-A-9 board was comprehensive enough for Peter to go to about 45k.

Kieran Appleby hit a 2-outer to stay in the tournament, getting it all in pre with 7-7 against an Anon-slaying Adam Wilkinson who had 9-9. The 7 on the flop was enough to keep Kieran alive, for now.

Cenkar Inan needed to hit the river to stay alive, only his was a little bit crueller in the circumstances. He got it all in with K-10 against Ossama Akkary's J-J, but the board read Q-9-2-4-J to give Inan the pot despite Ossama hitting his set on the river...the one time he didn't want to.

Finally, Miles McKenzie is headed for the door in an absolute cooler. He flopped the second nuts holding Ks Ts on a 9s 6s Qs board, and got Jason Herbert to stick in 50k holding Qh Qd. The turn was the 3c but the river was the 9d, pairing the board and giving Herbert a full house to send McKenzie home to Steve Gibson's rail.

Rex's brother went some time ago.

164 according to DTD website. Good effort for his highest buyin tournament by a factor of about 10 :).

Should have blown it off and come to our monthly home game though. I've got back having won our spectacular £5 rebuy for the grand profit of £45. Again. Shiiiip it.

Title: DTD £300 Deepstack - June 2010 - DAY 2
Post by: KarmaDope on June 06, 2010, 01:27:32 PM
Hello once again and welcome to the final day of the DTD Monthly Deepstack.

41 players return today to "do a Dempsey" (minus the bling bling of course) and fight for the right to declare themselves the current DTD Champion. Last month's winner Michelle Bennett relinquished her title yesterday evening, and from memory I believe we don't have any previous winners left in the field, so our winner will be a new name to add to that list.

Although there aren't any previous winners, there is a large amount of experience left in the field, with popular circuit stalwarts Mickey Wernick and Joe Grech in our 41, along with well-known players like Jonathan Butters, Paul Gardener and DTD Vegas 10 member Jason Herbert chipped up and dangerous to all remaining. Most dangerous though is our chip leader, Paul Garnham, who has 177k and has to start favourite to take down the title and the £24k first prize.

For those who played yesterday but didn't make it to day 2, DTD are also running a £150 1-day freezeout which starts at 3pm, and late registration will run for the first 3 levels, which are 30 minutes long. If that's a bit too rich for you, tonight's regular comps are a £40 deepstack freezeout (6k/24min) and a £15 freezeout (3k/20min) which start at 8pm for the £40 and 7.45pm for the £15. There will also be cash action tonight, with various games at various limits being spread. http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com has more information should you need it.

These updates wouldn't be possible without the support of DTD either, so please help them out if possible. The banner over here --------------------->
is a link to the DTD cardroom. Please download, sign up and play as much or as little as you can. Your play benefits blonde and DTD along with securing these updates for many tournaments to come.

Celtic and I will be back in the club from 2pm, ready to follow the final 41 from the first card being dealt to the final river being burned and turned. Please join us, post in support of friends/family/colleagues etc, as interaction definitely makes the updates better. Feel free to ask about certain players and how they are doing, and we will do our best to accommodate.

Guests, please make sure you sign up so you can see all the rubbish pictures and hopefully videos that we are aiming to bring today.

Right, I'm off to pack and get ready to head out to DTD (and somehow wake celtic up, I'm REALLY not looking forward to that!!) so we'll see you all at 2pm.

Joe  7h 7s

Lee 5c 5d

Board comes:  8c  7d 4s  5h 7c

Joe on around 40k, and receives a high 5 from willie tann!! Damn kids.... GIQ

Keep an eye out for Fan Cao on table 11 seat 3. Played with him for a few hours yesterday and he knows his stuff.

My tip to TID today.

Good luck to Paul Garnham. Don't know how he's going to cope with having more than 5 big blinds but I'm sure he'll manage.

We've lost one in the first 15 minutes. Adam Wilkinson and Stephen Lovatt got it all in pre, and this was the result:

Adam had 8-8, Stephen had A-K.

The flop wasn't good news for someone...

The turn gave Stephen a few more outs...

But the river was ultimately no good.

Stephen was the unlucky man heading home...

And this just sums up the result!

That table should be a bit more interesting...Steve Gibson's just been moved into seat 4.

Mickney Wernick raises from mid position 5500, Jamie Dale on the button moves all in for 42900. Micky calls.

Jamie 6h 6c

Mickey Qs Qd

A Jh 5c 4s 9d board is looking good for Mickey. Until the 6d on the river and Jamie doubles up.

Graham Giles has just gone.

George Achillea is out. He pushed over the top of Umar Khan's 5k raise holding 7-7. Unfortunately, Khan had a hand, 10-10, and called. No 7's on the 3-A-4-3-K board and Achillea was headed for the rail/the £150/cash/home/bar (delete as appropriate).

On table Grech it folds round to Matthew Chard who raises to 7000. Ossamma Akkary calls in the big blind.

Flop comes 9c 8d 5s.

Matthew bets 9400 and Ossamma moves all in. It's for most of Matthew's stack. He calls after agonising for 3 minutes with 8h 6h. Unfortunately for him Ossamma has flopped the nuts. No chopping cards on the turn or river and Matthew is now very short.

Matthew, on the left, has since busted in 38th.

Thomas Challiner & Kirit Patel just got it all in pre with QQ v KK. Q on the turn for Thomas earns him a nice 170,000 pot. Kirit down to 30000.

37 left. Average 72,700

We are down to 4 tables. Cloudio DeVito was seen heading out the door after he mucked on a J-K-Q-x-x river with his opponent showing A-Q. I missed the hand and caught it at the end so I'm assuming he had a middle pair and it all went in pre.

Kirit Patel went out in 36th, we missed it because I was focusing on Paul Gardener's exit in 35th. Fan Cao raised, and Paul re-raised to leave 1k back. Fan made the min 4-bet and Paul called.

Paul held the 6-6, and no redraws meant he left us in 35th. 7 more players to go until we make the money.

Mickey Wernick is OUT!! Shoved his 18k stack from the button. Scott McGrory in the small blind re-shoved and the BB folded.

Mickey 88
Scott AK

King on the flop and Micky goes out in 34th place.

It all happened so fast, neither myself or Vinny got there til the end!!

For a 200k pot, it looks like Ray (holding the 10-8) and Jason Herbert (holding the Q-10) got it all in on the flop with up and down straight draws. Neither hit, and as Jason had the higher draw, he took the massive pot and Ray headed for the rail.

A short-stacked Colburn Tomlin pushed all in from UTG with Ac Th and Jamie Dale in the BB was priced in to call with Qh 4h.

The board ran out 7d 5h Jc Qc Qd to give Jamie trips and send Colburn to the rail, still smiling, in 23rd.

Jonathan Butters is out in 22nd. He hadn't had the best of times today and was rather short when he pushed all in with 9s 9h and was called by Umar Khan who had Jd Td. Umar had raised to 20k from early position and Jonathan had shipped over the top.

The board ran out a comprehensive 7d Jh 2h Js Tc to give Khan a full house and send Butters home in 22nd.

Andy Ferguson and Ossama Akkary are having a right old ding-dong. Firstly, Andy doubled up when he got it all in with Kh Qc against the 3s 3d of Ossama, but the board was a cruel Ac Jc 6c Jh Aspades to counterfeit Ossama and send the 70k pot Andy's way.

A couple of hands later, a tilting Akkary pushed all in and it was Ferguson who made the call, for a 90k pot. Ferguson held 5c 5d but was utterly dominated by the Jh Js of Akkary. The 9h 3d Jd flop left Ferguson needing runner-runner, but the turn was one pip short, the 4c leaving Ferguson drawing dead and giving Akkary some chips back.

gl to Garnham and Jason Herbert.

Cos, you are the biggest bok in the world as they have just gone in 19th and 20th respectively.

Paul got it all in with Ah 9d against Andy Ferguson's 8h 8d and the board ran out 6c 3c Qd Ks Th to send Paul home in 19th place.

As this was taking place, Rob Angood despatched Jason Herbert in a MASSIVE pot. On the previous rotation, the 2 had tangled with Rob 3-betting Jason and making him pass "a big hand". This time, Rob 3-bet Jason with Ahrt Qs and Jason snap-shoved. Rob called and was rewarded when Jason could only flop Kc Qh. The board ran out 5h 5d 7c 9s Qd to send Jason Herbert to the cash desk and give Rob Angood a massive chip lead.

He called and early position raise from Ossamma. The flop came 8 5 3. Andrew checked and Ossamma shoved, Andrew called with 55, Osamma had A9. 7 on the turn gave Andrew a mini sweat but the 8 sealed it for him. Andrew now has 500k+

Gary Orme is gone in 15th place. Lost a big pot with AJ v the A 10 of Pratik. Got the rest in with 76 v K9 of Jamie Dale.

Rob Angood just doubled up Fan Cao. Fan shoved from the cut-off, Rob called from the BB with Kings. Fan got there on the river with A6.

Debbie Fox just doubled through Karl Snow in the classic race, her K-J vs Karl's 7-7. The 4-K-2-6-J board sent Debbie back to average chips.

One time massive chip leader Rob Angood is OUT!!

earlier lost with Kings v A6, he moved all in twice without getting called. On the 3rd time tho he got called by Mark Aldridge.

Mark AA

Rob AJ

No miracle for Rob and he got the rest of his chips in v Jamie Dale. Jamie's K9 too good for 67.

We just went from 13 to 10 in the space of ten seconds!

On Table 12, Karl Snow found a hand (or so he thought) and shoved his shortstack in. Pratik Ghatge next to him then shoved behind, only to see Jamie Dale push all in from the SB, covering both!

Karl: J-10
Pratik: A-10
Jamie: Q-Q

The Queens held up, the board running out K-4-6-3-J to give Jamie the pot and send both Karl and Pratik home. At the same time, over on table 13, Lee Nayler stuck his shortstack all in with K-2 and Ossamy Akkary was priced into call from the BB with 8-6.

Their board ran out Q-4-4-6-8 to give Ossamy the pot and we are now on the final table bubble!

Still 9 handed at the final. Only two notable hands so far.

First, Cam Law makes it 40000, Ray Ryder puts the rest of his chips in with JJ and finds he is racing v Cam's AQ. J on the flop and Ray doubles up.

Then, Ossamma Akkary raised to 28000, Adam Wilkinson 3 bets to 75000 and Ossamma calls.

On the flop of A-10-6 all spades, Ossamma bets 75000, Adam seems very pained a folds KK. Ossamma shows AJ.

Post by: celtic on June 06, 2010, 09:53:09 PM
Joe Grech makes it 46000 pre flop, Ossamma 3 bets to 105k. Joe folds AQhh.

Next hand Ray Ryder shoves for 60k, Cam law in the BB who has 16000 of his 55000 stack invested makes the call with Jh 7h

Flop comes  3c 8h Kh

Turn  2s

By now Ray's rail are chanting for a black deuce on the river, And as if by magic the  2c appears.

Cam Law finishes in 9th place.

Meanwhile, in between the excitement of the England v Rest of the World penalty shootout, we remember there was a pokerz game going on, so we decided to watch just as Joe Grech shoved over the top of a Mark Aldridge raise. Mark called for another 50k with

No help for Joe and he is gone in 8th place.

The FT has been rather quiet, most hands are being taken down uncontested although there is the occasional 3-bet. The most active player so far has been Ossama Akkary, who has risen to be one of the chip leaders without having to show a hand.

Huge pot has just played out that i thought was gonna end in violence.

Mark Aldridge raises to 50k from the cut off, Ossamma makes it 110k from the Big Blind. Mark asks him how much he has in total. After a while it is worked out that Ossama has 470k total.

Mark announces all in and Ossamma insta calls.

Mark: Ad 10c

Ossamma Khrts Jd

Mark stands up and can't believe that Ossamma has called. Then declares that Ossama is obv a fkin moron.

Meanwhile, the dealer deals the flop of 2d 5c Kd

At this point Mark thinks it's best to repeat his claim and Ossamma takes offence and is clearly getting angry. Oh then the dealer continues with a 6d on the turn and 9c on the river.

Mark is shellshocked and says (Again) what a fkin moron!

Now Ossammy complains to the TD and everyone is warned that name calling is not permitted lol.

Ossamma has close to 1 million chips now. Mark around 200k.

Break. Mark Aldridge doubled up with K-Q against the 10-10 of none other than Ossama Akkary. TD Richard is getting close to issuing penalties, both players have had warnings. Hopefully the break will cool them down.

Ray Ryder has doubled up again. This time he had AA on the BB and found Jamie Dale in the SB with KK.

whether its a bad call or not, its hardly right to be using that foul language towards another player.

What does he want? Players only calling him with a better hand?

Well said Dave

Julian Thew came up and introduced himself to me today, we had never really me, we chatted for a few minutes, i gave him a few pointers on where i felt he was going wrong etc. Glad to see he paid attention, he is amongst the chip daddy's in the £150 comp. Gl sir.

Ray Rider started the final with 4 big blinds. He now has 600k. The latest double up came from Jamie Dale's A8 v AK. Ray made a full house just to sure. Jamie now very short.

Both celtic and myself have been using his comp as Joobie has hijacked mine!!

We have 6 left. Andrew Ferguson raised to 61.5k preflop and a short Jamie Dale shoved for about 150k. Andrew called and flipped A-K to Jamie's 6-8. The flop was 8 high, and the turn was a blank, but the river was a cruel Ace to send Jamie home in 7th place.

Pictures with more detail to follow when the DTD internet starts working again.

The final table has been the slowest I've seen in quite some time at various comps. They're passing blinds to each other pretty much.

Great updates guys, gutted that i''m home and not sat at the final table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me to run into KK with the first decent hand (AQo) i'd seen for more hours than i care to remember...................... could have passed it i guess as had around 120K still at that point, but what's a girl to do 5 handed with it..... fold?  don't think so when i've only got 10x BB....

I've been feeling pretty pis*ed all the way home as hadn't really put a foot wrong all comp and was in the top 5 for most of the latter part .... hey ho, always a next time but right now i need to try and sleep and forget about it..... work tomorrow and dreams of resigning over for another month :)

Ok, things are finally moving. First of all Ossamma doubles up Fan whose Kings held versus A4. Then the very next hand Ray Ryder raised, Ossamma shoved and Ray called. Rays Kings holding v Ossamma's 10's.

Just before this there was talk of a deal using ICM, this was suggested by Andrew Ferguson, when he explained to Adam that it involves calculations and laptops Adam sais F%%% that, lets just play. So they played and soon after Adam shoved the button with K7cc and got got by Fan with A3 in the Big blind. The A3 held which means Adam Wilkinson finished in 5th place.

End game.

The remaining 4 have done a deal based on ICM. Fan took about 15.3k, Mark took 11.2k, Andrew took approx. 13k and Ray took the rest.

Bit of an anticlimax, but 4 handed at 20k/40k/4k ante, it was turning into a bit of a shoot.

However in my mind calling an intellectually astute and physically fit female university rowing team fanny, bitches and/or shagging opportunities is worse. How are some of you guys going to pop your cherries at this rate? You can't just bowl around in Ed Harley hoodies thinking in those terms if you want success with women.

Greekstein, no girlfriend, a homo rowing fantasy post, the picture of you as a big gay angel.....hmmm?

Yes I've dressed up as an angel with my housemates at uni. Pretty good night it was too. And I'd do it again.

You seem to mention sex a lot, does it fill the void of you not getting any from your probably whale of a mrs?

Then again, your mrs is probably incredible, just like your poker resume that you've always claimed is so good yet never posted ANYTHING to back it up.

Enjoy the week ahead, should be a good one in Walsall.

Yeah I suppose calling another poker player a moron is pretty poor form. However in my mind calling an intellectually astute and physically fit female university rowing team fanny, bitches and/or shagging opportunities is worse. How are some of you guys going to pop your cherries at this rate? You can't just bowl around in Ed Harley hoodies thinking in those terms if you want success with women.

i went to private school, its fine, they dont mind it

i went to amsterdam last summer

youve had a mare here

Is there a correlation between going to a private school and being intellectually astute?

i understand how their minds work

i left when i was 16 incase you cundt tell. went on to do p.e course at college, i am now fat, i think i failed

Tighty just go MIA in this thread. I'm sure mantis and Greeky are old enough and ugly enough to take what each others got. Personally I think they secretly meet up and bum one another.

Is it the new rule that every £300 update thread must end in an argument with people name-calling and belittling other players?

That's about the standard I expect in your articles.  Oh, and your mother smells of elderberries.
