UTG  makes it £3 , 3 calls , i call on the button with  3c 3h , both blinds also call thus creating a preflop pot of £21.

Flop  Ahrt 9s  5d , the only draw at the moment being a wheel draw.

First to act bets out £5  ,4 calls and a pass then on to me.Pot now $46 what do i do ?

I know that i'm definately beat but is this a situation where i should call for value in the hope of hitting my set As this mat be my only chance of winning the pot.

There worst possible hand to see would be a bigger set meaning i'm drawing dead.

Anyway i flat call with the turn a  5c.

First to act bets another £5  ,one passes  3 callers. Pot now £66.

I know can't win the pot at the moment but is it worth me trying to hit my full house for another £5?

Should i keep calling with small pairs in late position i the hope to hit my set if it is made cheap enough to call?

Or should i have passed on the flop  thus saving me 2x £5.

Had the bets on the flop and turn been more expensive i'd have folded but for £5 and £5 it it proofitable to call with my underpair in the longrun?

What was your stack size? Stack size  of other people in the pot?

Simple answer is that it's a fold on the flop. It's 22/1 to hit your set on the turn, and unless you are really deep, it's a losing play.

Impossible to answer without stack sizes.

Also, 87/86 can hit a straight on that flop ;)

Given stack sizes, it's not the worst call in the world on the flop.
You should factor in that sometimes you will run into a bigger set, therefore need to make a chunk more that 22/1 against the call, on the times that you hit.

On the plus side, if you hit it is pretty hidden, and you will get some money out of big aces, and 2 pairs.

I still fold the flop... don't like calling multiple streets hoping to hit.

I think you can win this pot on turn nearly 100%. forget about trying to hit you 3 imo, there is 65bbs out there and no-one is showing a morsal of strength, you can credibly rep a 5, make it £50 and win the pot.

I would be extremely suprised if first to act decides to lead for 1/12 pot with any of his value range at all, 99/100 its one of those stupid blockerish bets people do when they dont know what to do. Your in relative position to the action and you have zero hand....it's spots like these that are seriously exploitable in live games because people can have like QQ/KK and fold here.

I'm rasing the turn there as a pot has built up to a decent amount to make a play at. If called then I am taking it easy on the end.
