Title: Child Board - Hand Analysis
Post by: snoopy1239 on December 24, 2005, 01:28:57 AM
Hi folks.

Just trying to get some feeback.

The child board would sit right underneath 'betting tips' and operate in the same way.

It would be a child board for anyone who wishes to discuss hands or debate specific plays.

Good idea or bad idea?

snoops snoopy

Mayybe we don't need a separate board, just a clear prefix for hand analysis posts - like starting them all with "HA - "

....and for 47o posts we could have the prefix TB. (The reader can decide for themselves what this acronym stands for)

Its a poker forum, why not have a dedicated forum for poker discussion??!

Poker 4 Charity have the "hardcore poker forum" for all things poker, it works well.

2+2?

Is that your way of suggesting that any blondites who want a forum to discuss stratergy/hand analysis should go elsewhere?

I agree with Flushy. There should be a seperate board for betting tips under the general catergory like all the other fourms, and a seperate board  Hand Anaysis under the Poker catergory.

if we make to many boards then the problem becomes the forum looks too daunting to the newbie not used to forums

the child boards are being used to make the front page look friendly and welcoming and uncluttered while allowing people to access the seperate boards

you can still access the child board from the front page so there shouldnt be a problem

I just think that a poker forum would be a priority

35 boards? Nice idea but a bit daunting for the newbie don't you think?

Just one more would be nice.....

You've got a fair point Ironside. The two plus two forum has too many boards and is intimidating to newbies.

Just an idea, you could slap the Blondite Profiles board as a child board to the Best of Blonde board.

The 2+2 forum is a completely different forum to this one.

Hi guys, I suggested a child board because of the success of the betting tips board.

Also, I thought it might free up some space on the general discussion board.

Finally, I think it would be nice to have a child board where people could discuss/debate specific hands.

Exactly my point, we have a whole board for profiles, that no-one ever goes in, and not one for POKER discussion on a POKER forum!!!?!?!?!?!

I support the idea of a child board only as a route to getting to a proper board.

I have said {too many times} that change is much needed, i just don't believe in the case of even more forum boards.
Actually i agree with others, there are boards that should be child boards that are full blown, get rid (well at least resize).

I voted yes but am a little disapointed in it's child board status.

I like the general discussion to a point but sometimes there is just too much stuff to wade through before you get to some hardcore strategy and hand analysis.

...which is why we suggested giving it it's own Board, &, presumably, why 75% of the blondes agreed.

Just remember guys, anything we do can be considered a trial run. If it doesn't work, we can remove it. If it garners interest, then we can consider moving it the forefront of the forum. Baby steps I'd say, a sort of middle ground.

Also, I reckon it's better than nothing. I'd love to have a board, however big, where we can go to discuss specific hands or plays.

Plus, remember that a child board can still be accessed directly from the main forum page.

Correct ifm. Clearly a subject that does not arouse too much interest!

I think it may be because (i) it's xmas and (ii) Many aren't fussed either way.
