Title: Selling Amsterdam Main Event Shares at 1.16:1
Post by: The Camel on October 06, 2010, 02:38:07 AM
The Masterclassics of Poker is coming up and I am going to play the main event only.

It's my favourite tournament of the year and I've got a pretty good record in it. I've played 8 times, made the final table 3 times and cashed 1 other time.

Looking to sell about a third of my action in this €6250 event at 1.16.

10% will be €725
5% €362.50
etc

There usually is an English version of the website, but there oesn't seem to be one this year.

I definitely recommend buying in early for the sides, because they always sell out in advance,

Give them a bell +31 20 521 1111

And ask for Adele or Marie-Louise, who usually do player relations for the Masterclassics, they should be able to help.

Tried, doesn't work on the tourney page for whatever reason. Can only make the first weekend actually 5/6th, the 1500 is too big for my boots the 800 is a possiblity although the structure doesn't look great. Cash games were great last time I went and I had a great weekend on the piss actually in between all that...........

The tournament pretty much sells out every year without an affiliation and I think the fact its a stand alone tournament is one of the reasons its such good value.

Very few Stars or FT Pros make the journey (altho obv some of them are value too).

Traditionally lots of Germans, Austrians and Dutch who only play 2 tournaments a year (this one and the big 7 card tournament in Baden) show up for this and there are huge numbers of players you will not recognise playing a 6k event.

I know John Duthie tried really hard to get this onto the EPT but they said no, Holland Casino is governemnt owned so taking the Stars sponsorship money is not an issue.

All in all, with the added money they usually give (don't know if that's going to happen this year), very generous comps and all the terribad players it really is the best tournament in Europe of the year.

Stick up a staking thread Rick, it really is worth going,

How severe is the rape rake on the cash games during this festival!?

Few of us thinking of going over if its not too redic. If it is, might go and sample the other delights.

The big games are fair value in Amsterdam.

The small games are really soft but the rake is really high.

Bustoed end of Level 5.

Was on annoying table, no good players but a tighter bunch of rocks you'd struggle to find. Could never get anything going.

Was down to 10k from 15k starting.

150/300 EP opened for 750, CO called, I called in bb with JdTd.

Flop KdQh7d.

I checked, opener bet 1000, CO made it 2250, I shoved.

CO tanked forever before calling with AK.

Disappointing turnout here with only 250 runners, maybe Amsterdam os finally sufferng from not being on the EPT, still lots of value in the tournament though.
