Title: % comprehension
Post by: outragous76 on October 26, 2010, 04:26:17 PM
1. If an average (rate of pay) is 17.07 and then some is allowed to "add an additional 168% to the hourly rate", what do you believe to be the total they can charge

2. If a report suggests that annual output has increased by 256%  from 656 in 2009, what is the output in 2010 ?

Thanks

I'm waiting for the twist...

maybe the initial rate of pay given in q1 wasn't hourly but included a callout charge

The way this is worded is very clear so there isn't really any comprehension to it.

Statements 1 and 2 are the same but with different numbers.

There's a couple of possible twists if Guy is trying to be [ ]funny but I think this is a genuine question.

My guess is he's trying to figure out how many people answer as have and how many answer 28.68 and 1602.56

I'm waiting for the twist...

perhaps the intended answers are 68% more and 156% more?

haha

no twist im afraid, i was reading a report for someone who was trying to jazz up his numbers and he talked so much he almost convinced me he was right! (that was eg 2)

eg1 was another query today on something - which due to mr talker i felt i should double check!
