Checked to the Greek one in the BB who bets a chunky 1175 into the 1800ish pot, and gets one caller in Chris McNicholls. The turn brings the 6s, and Cos goes into the tank before betting out 2450. McNicholls tanks before deciding that's too rich and folding, and the pot is pushed in the direction of Cos, who is now chip leader on his table.

I joined the action on a Kd 6c Jd board, where Roberto Romanello and Das had checked to button Glen Storey, who bet 325. Roberto folded and Das called. The turn was the 3d where again Das check-called, this time Storey made it 600. The river was the 8s and Das checked. Storey nearly fired again but decided discretion was the better part of valour and also checked. Das flipped Qs Qc which was easily enough to take down the pot.

Over on table Greek/Celtic, Vinny called me over to brag about a hand where he "called 2 barrels from Cos with Ace high and was good". Cos was more forthcoming, telling me that both barrels were for "less than a bag".

As this happened, Cos raised to 300 and Vinny called. Controversy then erupted as Simon Baskerville announced raise, put his 300 in and started counting out his chips. As he did this, seats 3 and 4 folded, with seat 5 about to follow only for Cos to angrily speak up, asking what was going on as Baskerville hadn't actually raised yet! Chris McNicholls in seat 3 then started arguing with Cos, with McNicholls telling Cos that he's been folding like that all the time "and I'll carry on until I'm told it's wrong." Cos just turned round and said "Well, I'm telling you it's wrong!" McNicholls just laughed, and the rising voices saw TD Richard head over, calming it down.

Baskerville eventually made it 1400, and both Cos and Vinny passed. After the hand, Cos asked Richard whether it was right that people were folding before a player had put in his raise amount or announced the amount, rather than just the word "raise" and Richard agreed it was wrong. Cos then said "There, you're wrong" to McNicholls, who just laughed!

Firstly, James "MC" Atkin raised to 450 and saw Rob Garfield call. The two saw a Qd Js 7s flop, and it all kicked off. James bet 600, only for Rob to raise to 1500. James tanked, and then 3-bet to 4100, leaving 9300 back. Rob then tanked, with Celtic next to me saying he reckoned Rob had "something like Q-J". It was better than that, as Rob moved all in covering James with 7d 7c. James snap-called and showed Qc Qh, leaving Rob drawing to one out in a sick cooler, which never came. The board ran out Tc Ts to send the pot in Eminem's direction.

An even sicker hand then took place on table Newcastle (mond, obv). Jon "salfi" Salfi limped UTG+1, but Steve Chennells raised to 700. Ali Mallu called from the blinds and Salfi also called. The three saw a Qh Td 5s flop, which Salfi bet into for 500. Chennells called but Mallu decided enough was enough and massively overbet the pot all in for 11,500! Salfi couldn't believe it, checked his cards and called! Chennells folded and Alli's 9c 8s was massively behind the Tc Td middle set for a grinning Salfi.

Well, he was grinning until the turn and river came 7d 6s to give Mallu runner runner straight and decimate Salfi's stack!

Been home about twenty minutes.

Nirvana out after trying a hero call that didn't work. He called all in on a Qc 3d 5d flop holding 3c 4c but ran into Kenny Prazer's Ahrt Ad. The turn gave him more outs in the form of the Jc but the river was the Th, sending Nirvana to the rail.

Tricky situation for a floor ruling

Paul Mason open shoves. As passed cards around him are collected in by the dealer, Mason's cards are accidentally taken in too, though they were behind the line (but unprotected)

With a few people still to act a ruling is called for


The ruling is that "call" chips are left in the pot, the "shove" chips are returned to the player but of course the hand remains dead, the cards now being mixed in with other mucked cards


Mason looks miffed, but to be fair that's a common sense ruling, as it could have been worse....

It's double up central out there for the shorties at the moment.

Richard Pearson shoved 8-8 from UTG but ran into David Dyson's J-J in the BB. A flopped set for Pearson was enough to take the hand, the board running out A-T-8-2-9 to send the pot Richard's way, and leave David on fumes. And fuming.

Richard Haile then shoved Kh 9h but ran into Kenny Prazer's Ad Aspades. His board however ran out 7d Ks 5s 2c 9d to crack the bullets and double Haile up.

The best hand preflop still didn't hold when Jason Bright shoved Ac 9d. Andrew Papageorgiou next to him then shoved Jd Jh but lost the hand in cruel fashion when the board ran out Ks 2c 7c 4c Qc to give Jason the nut flush and the pot.

Finally, the best hand held when James Green shoved Th Ts and got a call from Anon with Ahrt Qd. The flop of Tc Aspades Td was enough.

Mickey Wernick is out. He got it all in with J-6hh on a 2-T-3-T-K board, 2 hearts (we think the turn) and was called by K-Q that spiked the river.

Good to meet you yesterday tighty and sharplea and great work.  First time i ve played the dtd300 and loved every minute of it.

I managed to get a massive double up late last night. I was UTG and looked down at  Ks Kd. I raise to 3500 with 40k back and got 3 bet by the chip leader to 9k. I 4b to 17k and he shoves. I call and he turns over  3c 3d. Merry xmas.  I think I'm going to have to work alot harder today though :). Lets see where this ride takes me today.

ps: I ve played against wenri before, good player and not afraid to mix it up.

Paul raised and I thought I would 3 bet with 2-3 off, thinking Paul would pass a lot of hands and then show you 2-3 when he passed, just for a laugh and for an update story. Then the very tight guy shoved. Paul passes and I'm stuck. I look bad if I pass but I've got 2-3 ffs.

Eventually I pass and tell the guy when he shows Queens that I passed tens to him. This came a bit unstuck when Paul Garnham tells me he passed tens and a guy round the back said he passed tens to a bet, 3 bet and 4 bet shove.

Over on table 14, Richard Blacklock found himself all in for 17k on a flop of 2c Ks Ahrt. As the previous table 15 hand was being played out at the same time, nearly everybody missed the clock being called, with Blacklock actually believing that his opponent, Wenrui Chen, had actually called.

Something Blacklock had said must have given Chen some information though, because he called 3 seconds into the 60 second clock, turning over Qh Qd which was miles behind Richard's Aspades Tc. No queens on the 4h turn and 9d river saw Blacklock go back over 50k.

Richard Haile just rivered James Green to stay alive. All in preflop, Green's J-J was miles ahead of Haile's A-J. However, the board ran out 6-K-3-8-A and the lucky Ace on the River was enough to decimate Green and double up Haile.
