Title: Event 7 $1000 No Limit Holdem
Post by: James Browning on June 10, 2005, 04:35:25 AM
Congratulations to John Law from Teeside a great "Chip Getter" who is currently in the last nine of this event,  lying in second place with 516000 chips.
Pascal Perrault continues his recent red hot form and has  225000 chips.
If you can find the brakes as well as the gas pedal you can win this John!
I,m rooting for you.

Whahoo, go John! Thanks for the info James, keep it coming.

For those of you that don't know John, or "CT", he's a smashing guy, really lovely, & an awesome player when he has chips, I suspect At It Bradley must have been coached by him.

It was John who asked me one night in Sheffield where Julian was, I said he could not get a pass tonight. "Is he your only son?", he asked deadpan, while the rest of his table sniggered......

You are mixing me up with someone else Ian. I'ma ROCK.

Good Luck tonight, but especially to John.

If there is much traffic on blonde later, I may try & do a lttle Live Update on John's progress, if DC is available to assist. He's still not too well, so I don't want to bother him needlessly.

They are down to 7 now. John Law is stiil in great shape, & Pascal is not doing too bad either.

Could this be the first European victory at this year's WSOP? Even if Frenchman Pascal wins, we would count it as a European victory.

They are on break now. John Law is in 2nd spot with 500,000, the leader has 650,000. Pascal is in 4th with about 300,000.

John CT LAW from Teeside is doing us proud and is down to the last 3 and is chip leader with 1,521,000 chips. Mike Gracz from Poland has 311,555, and long time chip leaderChuck Thompson from California has 381,000.
They are fighting for prize moneyof   1st $594,460
                                                    2nd $311,555
                                                    3rd $176,145
I play regularly with John in the wild cash games in Teeside and Newcastle. Certainly not games for the fainthearted. John is one of the main reasons for this as he is absolutely fearless. He is a very volatile player with huge swings either way!
Through these undulating results John always behaves the same win or lose. I find him a pleasure to play with and yet again I give him my wholehearted support as I sincerely want him to win.

I believe that the tournament has been declared aTIE between our very own John CT Law and Polands Mike Gracz.
Congratulations to them both. They receive $453,007 and 50 cents each!!! Being in Vegas I,m sure the change will do them good!

A Michael Graz won a World poker tour event in March (Party poker Cruise), so John's win/tie is even more impressive in such a tough field....did they play on for the bracelet?

Pokerpages.com has Mike G stated as the winner, and they say nothing about any deal either.

It was definitely declared as a tie initially so I am guessing they split and either played for the bracelet or included that in the deal. However if and when I find out I will obviously keep everyone informed.
Whatever happened 24 year old Mike Gracz has been declared the winner and has walked away with the bracelet!
He was born in Poland and lives in North Carolina.
He he has a degree in finance but is planning to be a full time Poker Pro
Well done to him and well done to John CT Law

Wow, well done John - just awesome!

And on the Final hand, John had an awful beat. All the chips went in on a J-8-5 flop. Matey Boy has Q-8 for middle pair, John has QJ for top pair, top kicker. But the turn came an 8..... But $311,000 is a nice pick up for John Law.

I gather Mike Gracz is Polish, but lives in USA. Guess that counts as a European victory?

Ouch what a time for an outdraw!
Presuming no flush draws regular or backdoor, on the flop John was 83.3% v 16.7% to win the hand.

I watched the whole thing... after busting out early from the 2000 event (i just did'nt no how to approach the event and played badly should've spoke to james about tactics i think!)

John played brilliant, he lost his chip lead after having ak busted by a5 matey boy, he thought he was bluffin and check called big bets all the way to the river! then john put him allin when the straight came for yank!

John makes a great call for all his chips to level it up board comes 225 yank bets john call, turn comes 6 yank checks john puts a large bet in... the matey boy moves allin! john deliberates then says call they turn there cards john has 63 and matey boy has j5! stevie liu was prayiing john passed the hand! john then shouts i knew he had nothing, and then says thats bottle!

last one would have given john a big chip lead... great final and john has given a great account of himself!

It will be a brilliant tv final!

Off to the pool its too hot!

Ian
