Here we are again, DTD Deepstack time.

This time last month the Deepstack was an epic event as 459 runners descended on DTD. Of course as of now the weather has been playing havoc with the plans of DTD and players but the £100,000 guarantee remains and as I write a thaw has begun. Hopefully bodes well for later on.

"every single person has told me to drop the GTE all week, people have gone out of their way to ask me to to it, including many poker players that are playing the event, we have had emails to support and phone calls to reception tonight saying "im still coming even if you drop it", even my parents have told me to drop it and they dont really understand how GTE's work, so its gonna really nark me if anyone has any sort of pop at me or Dusk Till Dawn this weekend as its SOLEY my decision to keep it at £100k"


At the risk of sounding too obsequious I just smile at the optimism and principles of the man.

So the important information about today's event is

- 5pm start, club opens still at 1pm with cash games from 2pm

- Play 11 levels with breaks every three elvels

- Estimated finish of Day 1 2am

- Day 2 re-start at 2.30pm

- 45 minute clock, 10,000 starting chips

- £300+36 buy in. £100,000 guaranteed

I really hope people make the effort to support this, I feel DTD deserve it.

So, as I potter off to dig the car out and take a slow trip up the motorway, please post on here if there are any particular players you want us to report on.

Just arrived. The temperature has risen quite a bit, up to 4 c south of Leicester and you should have a normal journey if travelling from the South. Up around Nottingham its less thawed, but the roads are fine.

Basically though, get here. You won't see a possible overlay in the £100,000 guaranteed too often

You can buy in for 4 levels , so up until 8.15pm , maximum deduction in chips will be 750 should you join in level 4.

I got there to find a 7d 6s Ks 7s 3d board, and Duke leading for 800 into the 1400 pot. Robert Bright called and action was on Nadim Sarwar. Sarwar tanked and eventually threw in a green 1k chip only to find our man turning over Qs Ts for the flush. Easily good enough as both players mucked.

Jonathan Titcombe just doubled through James Clark. Titcombe bet flop and turn before over-bet shoving the river to get his 8k stack in on a 9d 7c Kh Ahrt Qd board. Clark went to snap-call, thought about it, checked his cards twice before muttering something along the lines of "f**k it" and calling, flipping Aspades 7s which was no match for Titcombe's 7d 7h.

Started off good chipped to 12k easily then moved tables dribbled away 4k
I'm such a twat

Spotted an old friend of mine, Paul Kemp, over on table 48. As I get there he calls a 500 raise from Mateyboy next to him. The button, Mateyboy2, also calls and the three players see a 6d 8h 2c flop. Mateyboy fires a c-bet of 1k. Paul calls and Mateyboy2 joins the party. The turn is 7d and Mateyboy goes again, 3k his second barrel. A concentraing Kempy calls and Mateyboy2 realises that discretion is the better part of valour and gets out of the way.

Heads up, the river is the Qs. Mateyboy checks and Kempy tanks before shoving for about 8k, covering Mateyboy. Instantly you know it is a good bet as Mateyboy rocks back, sigh-grunting and clearly not happy. He then folds Jh Jc face up, asking Kempy "what did you call me down with there?!" Kempy silently mucked and raked in the pot.

As I left the table, I glanced at Kempy and got a smart-arse grin. I muttered "you lucky bastard", which set him off laughing like a man who knows he just got away with a big one!

I passed by table Duke/Kemp as Duke was calling an 800 raise out of the BB. He, the SB and the original raiser then all checked a 9c 6c Jh flop. The SB bet 1100 on the 5c turn and Duke passed, with the original raiser calling. The 4h river was checked down, and the 8c 8h of the original raiser was enough to take the pot.

still alot of money but i hate when people talk about overlays  they dont add in the casinos take into the pot to make it sound bigger

i have seen some online comps claim overlays when after they take the rake the site actually made money on the comp

obviuosly thsi aint the case here as they still need to pay for dealers etc etc but in truth punters put £95140 into the pool

I headed over to Paul Ho's table to see how he was getting on and spotted Sunil Mistri in Duke's old seat. Mistri and Ho have history and as I arrived, Sunny raised to 725 on Paul's BB. Adrian Hurley called, along with Javid Akhter. Ho also called from the BB and the 4 of them saw a 9c 6d Qc flop. It got checked to Akhter and he bet 2300, with Hurley the only caller. The turn was the 8c and Hurley again check-called 2300. On the 8h river, Hurley checked again and this time Akhter checked behind, a good decision as his Qh Jh was definitely no match for the Jc Tc of Hurley!

Slowed down again now, but most raises preflop are getting 3-bet and the three bet is enough to take the pot down. Haven't seen a flop since the last time I posted.

What is helping the others here is that Golubevs the the most passive chip leader you could imagine. The others can thus hang around, although Foggin is the most aggressive player, most vpip at the table

Foggin raised to 45k from the button and BB Mick Jones shoved for 200k. Marc insta-called and turned over Ahrt Kc which was dominating Mick's Ac 4c. The flop was Jc 3c Ts, meaning Marc needed to fade a flush draw or a 4, and he did so on the 8s 9d turn and river, sending Mick home in 5th place for £5,757.

Came back because fed up of seeing walk after walk after walk...then Alex raised to 65k and Marc called. They saw a Qs 9d Qd flop and Marc check-called a 31.5k bet. The turn was the 6c and Marc again check-called a bet, this time 63k. The river brought the Qc and in true OCD style, Alex bet 126k (4x25k, 4x5k, 4x1k, 4x500). Marc sigh-called and was shown Qh 9s by Alex for the flopped house and rivered quads!

Yeah, Marc has taken his game extremely serious yet has played relatively few games live. He's a great reader, he's had numerous decent cashes on Stars in huge fields. More recently, he just missed the cash at his first EPT in Barcelona. He will do well and I hope he takes this down. Apart from all of the above he's a great pal and a top top guy. Come on Foggsy

At 8pm tonight the final was six handed and here we are after 2am and we've just finished. What a cracking testament to the structure of this event.

Bokked myself it seems. First hand after the break, pick up AA, which prove worthless next to AJ when he rivers a straight. GG 40% of my chips.
