Play begins at 2pm. To give you an idea of who might be playing today

We have

Mr James Dempsey, fresh I gather from a run in with the traffic police in Nottingham last night

Mr Chris Moorman, who recently broke his live poker duck in a £50 freezeout at the Brighton Rendezvous

Mr Thomas Middleton, newly with running shoes, for some unknown reason

Ms Maria Demetriou, who will smile at the camera today

Mr Julian Thew, who will have brushed his hair

Mr Chris Brammer, replete on Sugar Puffs for Breakfast

Mr Toby Lewis, last time at this his underwear was photographed

Mr Chin Kai Koh. Is it?

Mr Adam Daniel, all charm and sophistication

Mr Waheed Ashraf, inaugural winner of this event

Mr Nik Persaud, of BlackBelt Poker

Mr Fraser Bellamy, winner of this in December

Mr Jack Ellwood, runner up in this in December

So far the DTD site has 65 bought in for today

With those names, and more, it is shaping up to be a corker

Please join me early this afternoon for all of the fun of the fair

10 levels

breaks every 2 levels

split buffet break starting end Level 3, so half the field plays while the other half eats...no long break

Devilfish is here, next to the ever charming DTD Deepstack winner Adam Daniel

Maria Demetriou sat in seat 8, which was meant to be Devilfish's.....so he was forced to sit in her,er, intended seat

Apparently Maria owes Devilfish £1,000 if he gets knocked out while in that seat....

So come with me while I tell you a tale of a dirver, and the police

Last night Mr James Dempsey leaves DTD in his Aston to go to town. James Mitchell is his passenger

Arriving at the Lenton roundabout they spy a police car on the verge, and a mental note is made

Flushy is being followed by a taxi contained assorted millionaire poker players

Flushy looks to see if the police car is following him. Appears not

He decides to speed away from a few sets of lights on his journey along a dual carriageway and at the fourth notices the police car appearing on his inside lane

He is pulled over.

Suddenly panicking that James Mitchell is his passenger he instructs Mitchell to "say nothing". Why he would be panicking, not sure

Flushy is invited into the police car

At this point the police discover that their tracking equipment/camera has not been working.

Just as well, as they inform Flushy that on the basis of what they've seen he'd have received 6 points and a big fine, in court

Flushy receives a lecture, and is sent on his way....

So Guy "Outragous76" Johnson turns up late, and has a short wait whuile they put an extra dealer on

Buying in just behind him is Ali Mallu

"Hope I get position on him" Guy says

Mo Muse in 1, Guy in 2, Ali Mallu in 3. There will be carnage

Still, as Guy says "whenever I have had a big score, I've started on the same table as Ali Mallu"

So Guy Louis "Outragous76" Johnson turns up late, and has a short wait whuile they put an extra dealer on

Buying in just behind him is Ali Mallu

"Hope I get position on him" Guy Louis says

Mo Muse in 1, Guy in 2, Ali Mallu in 3. There will be carnage

Still, as Guy  Louis says "whenever I have had a big score, I've started on the same table as Ali Mallu"

First out is.....James Dempsey

A three stage process

Firstly Flushy lost 5,000 to Peter "The Bandit" Evans

Flushy raised pre, Evans called in the big blind

and called down three streets of a 10 high board

Flushy Jacks, Evans Queens

Two limpers, a raiser, flushy calls in the small blind with 6-4..four way to a

4-3-3 flop

raiser bets, Flushy calls, one of the limpers overcalls

turn A checked round

River 4

Flushy checks, the raiser Mattheww Leeman bets 7,000. Flushy makes it 26,000

Leeman calls all in and shows 3-3 for flopped quads

Finally Flushy with  Kc 2c against Peter Evans  Ac 9c on  4c Jc Tc....in the money goes

Flushy now has to wait around to play golf with Karabiner tomorrow and the Party big cash game he is scheduled to appear in

Shall I get him doing chip counts?

Flushy is off to the cinema with Jake Cody and James Mitchell. Mitchell has 60,000 and is taking some time off today. lol

Cody wants to go and see "Roommates"

I pointed out to Flushy that this gets 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and would kill his macho image for ever

I recommended Source Code over limitless

and all three over the cash games.....

Pete Linton raises

Frankie calls in the blinds

flop A-Q-5

Check, Linton 800, called

turn A

Check, Linton 3,000. Frankie c-raise to 6,300

Linton all in

Snap called

Frankie A-Q

Ouch and Hooray in equal measure

Sitting doing another round of tighty...Jamie O'Connor sidles up to describe his exit and a new chip leader

I had to hear it, so you will too

"I've lost a swearword swearword 120,000 pot to a swearword swearword muppet

I had the Nut flush on the turn and got it all in against middle two paid, he obviously filled up on the river.

I made it 1,100, he went 12,000, I went 27,000, he shoved for 60,000. I obviously called.

So sick"

Epic, in fact

Most of a round with tighty 3

35     1     Yiannis Liperis 12,000
35    2    Umar Khan 63,000
35    3    Mark Wagstaff 20,000
35    4    Andreas Georgiou 22,000
35    5    James Sykes 55,000
35    6    Paul Bracken 23,000
35    8    Waheed Ashraf 30,000
35    9    David Colclough 24,000

blinds are 150-300

Hand 1 button seat 3

Wadey 700

Sykes in the big blind calls

 2h 4h Ad

check, Wadey 800, called

turn  7s check check

river  Qh check check

Wadey  Js Aspades to win

Sykes A-10 he says

Hand 2 button seat 4

Wagstaff 600 in the cut off

Georgiou 1900 on the button

Wagstaff passes

Hand 3 button seat 5

Wadey gets a walk

Hand 4 button seat 6

Folded to Wadey in the small blind calls

Colclough 1,000 in the big blind

Wadey folds

Colclough shows  Ts Th

Hand 5 button seat 7 is the big one

Khan 600 utg

Sykes calls in mid position

Colclough/Liperis complete/check in the blinds

flop  Jh Td 2h

Khan  3,400

Sykes calls

turn  4c

Khan 6,000

Sykes 14,000

Khan a very long think

He asks Sykes how much he has left, and receives no answer

He asks again, more aggressively

The dealer tells him Sykes does not need to answer

After several minutes he 4 bets for 41,000 total

Before Sykes has a chance to act Khan puts his remaining stack over the line

The dealer tells him off

Khan does it again "It's my next bet anyway"

The dealer moves it back behind the line

Sykes 5 bet all in for 58,000 total

Khan calls with only shrapnel back

Sykes, fairly inevitably to a watcher..flopped set  2d 2c

Khan overpair right?

Yes?

No

 Ac Jd

river  6h

Sykes moves to dispute the chip lead with over 100,000

Khan, if he thought long enough to do so, would wonder about the merits of top pair top kicker in 5 bet pots at 150-300

From around the felts...

Paul Bowser has flopped Quads three times today, handily placed on 90,000

Matt Russell 70,000 also going well

Maria Demetriou struggling to make progress over 20,000

Lee Williamson playing well, it looks to me, over 50,000

Declan Mclellan clear chip leader. Perhaps 150,000. Doesn't like folding

Mickey Wernick 3,000 "Not won a pot today, haven't hit a single draw"

Dave Colclough 70,000 "Ten years ago I was the wildest player on most tables. Now you (pointing at Karl Fenton and and Jamie Sykes) all tell me I am too tight"

Karl Fenton opens  Kh Jh for 700 out of 16,000 at 150-300/25

Dave Colclough calls

Deepstack third David Boswell overcalls

the big blind calls

flop  Jc Tc 3h

Fenton leads for 1,550 into 3,500

Boswell makes it 17,000. As you do. Or he tends to with any part of the flop

Fenton calls all in

Boswell  Qc Js

Turn  Qd knocks Fenton out

Wagstaff the raiser with A-K versus flopped pair and flush draw for Wadey in the blinds

Matt Russell limps UTG

Stuart Kinghorn 3,600 in mid position

James Clarke shove on the button for 15,000

Russell re-raise for about 100,000

This well covers Kinghorn

He cogitates

Then begins talking

"I am drawing to the nut flush"

"I folded this last week and it was wrong"

"Two weeks ago I didn't fold and ran into Aces"

He thinks again, perhaps wondering if the cards in this game remember what happened a week ago.......

He eventually folds, with much drama,  Kd  Ad thrown across the table with speed

Russell  Aspades Ahrt

Clarke  7c 7s

board  Jc 8c 5c

turn  4h

river  4c

Clarke doubles through Russell

Not all doom and gloom for Russell as he had Kings again since I was there last and won more chips

While I am on break a reminder that the Party Poker big cash game is on tomorrow for 48 hours starting at 8pm

Snoopy will be here doing the Party Poker Blog and Barry Carter and team doing a blog on Poker News where you can vote players off the cash game etc etc

I'll link to them on here and hopefully they will do the same for me.

More promising than Snoops and Barry, Kara Scott is here to host, interview etc. Marty Wilson is the cash game TD, but you can't have it all.

Quite a challenge for the staff, as the club stays open the entire 48 hours, dealers and valets beginning shifts at 6am for example, other cash games running throughout as well.

Anonymous raises

Ben Vinson shoves the button

Anonymous snaps him off

Anon A-K

Vinson A-10

Anon holds and Vinson is out

While I ask the table to tell me how Ben went out, as I didn't see it myself, Devilfish pipes up

"Don't tell him lads, don't do his job for him, he shouldn't be over there (pointing at the bar) should he?"

Charming.

Tom McDonald 3 bets from the big

Nicholls 4 bet shoves for about 55,000 total

Snapped off

McDonald  Kc Kh

Nicholls, er,  Kd 7h

board comes 3-5-6 giving Nicholls hope, which does not materialise on the 3 turn, 9 river

Tom McDonald, shortstacked all day, now 120,000

Simon Deadman raises to 2,500 in mid position

Duncan who I have been calling David all day McLellan raises to 5,000 next to act

Deadman calls

flop  8h 4c 7c

Deadman checks

McLellan fires 15,000

Deadman c-raise all in for about 40,000

snapped off

Deadman  Qc 8c

McLellan  Kc 3c

That's a lot of clubs out, he's in better shape than he feared

turn  Kd

river  2c just for good measure

Deadman is out and Father Ted Moves over 200,000

Jamie Sykes open jammed a board of

 Ac 6c 5s  4h 4c after the river

Barakatul Mohammed gave it the several minute dwell with  Kc 5c before calling

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

David Harris opens the button

Guy Johnson 3 bets  2s 4s from the small, with 25 bigs behind

Harris peels

flop  2h Ts Js

Guy open jams

Harris calls with  Ahrt Jh

turn  4c takes Johnson over 70,000

That's enough boasting for now Guy, next time I will ask Devilfish.

Ronaldo has got a really good pizza takeaway in Carlton in Nottingham. Best independent one I've found in Notts so far........

Devilfish wins a nice pot off Guy Johnson with a full house and the two of them discuss back and forth how badly each played the hand. Unlike Outrageous76 to argue a point

Next hand, as Devilfish is now stacking his over 100,000

Ben Martin raises to 2,700

Devilfish calls

Seat 10 calls

Guy Johnson calls in the small blind

Anonymous big blind calls

flop  7c 2c Ts

Martin 8,000 with 30,000 behind

Ulliott asks Johnson

"How much have you got over there Einstein?", receiving the reply "60,000"

Ulliott makes it 50,000

All pass to Martin who calls all in

Martin  Th 7h for flopped top two

Ulliott  Ac Qc for the nut flush draw

turn  2c. Ulliott hits

river  7d Martin re-draws to hit the house

Martin doubles up to over 85,000

I played the Sat tonight and on 3 different occasions people who had got unlucky in a hand went on to argue/lecture the other player about how bad they played to get their money in bad.

To this day I will never understand why people do that, do they want them to play better or something?

Dave Colclough is out

Shortstacked he shoved  Qs 9d

Before Steve Jelinek has acted, big blind Peter Evans calls

Jelinek asks what his options are

I'm busy wondering how the ruling that he cannot raise is correct, and momentarily distract myself.

Anyway Jelinek just calls

Flop Jack high

Jelinek checks, Evans bets into the dry side pot

Jelinek folds  Ad Kd

Evans  Kh  Jh

Jack on the turn for good measure

----------------------------------------------------------

Elsewhere David Tighe has gone

--------------------------------------------------------

Lee Williamson 70,000

Matt Russell 30,000 and looking for a spot

Tom McDonald 130,000

Guy Johnson 65,000

Ben Martin 90,000

Devilfish 90,000

Wadey Ashraf 140,000

Paul King 70,000

Steve Holden 50,000

Fraser Bellamy 80,000

Paul Zimbler 60,000

no its not, because I went to clarify

turns out Jelinek hadn't realised Colclough had pushed and had completed the small blind by putting in an extra 600

So Evans raises the big blind

Jelinek has already made action and is held to call or fold.
