 :hello: jeff. was not sure if i had upset you with my rant on the other thread when having a go at G casino and you sprung to their defense. i think that i read somewhere that you have said that you only have been to a dtd a couple of times. i dont know if this is because of your Grosvenor sponsorship or not but i did find this little tit bit a couple of hours ago in a thread about DTD having to go to court and people were asked for their view point:


I'm looking forward to playing at DTD because as a poker player I want to ply my trade in the best possible surroundings, run by poker players for poker players. I have no interest in slots or table games and don't understand why poker players are currently forced to put up with them any more than a golfer shoud have to walk past them on the way to the first tee as he heads off to work. I have no interest in coming to Nottingham to play in any of the casinos objecting to this license, I never have and never will, but I will be coming to play at DTD regulary if and when it opens. The people behind this venture are good honest hard working people bringing employment and world class facilities to a place many of us have never and will never go to if DTD are unsuccessful.

I'm not sure what your point is? I was asked by the guys running DTD to support them and wrote that yes, why have u reprinted it? Unlike u, I think it's great to have a choice of where to play and the more good places to play poker the better, rather than hoping they kill each other off. Thereofre if I chose to go to DTD once a year I'd like to be able to do that, and that's why I supported their application. Are u saying I need to have gone there more than twice to write that three or four years ago? Or is it like the last thread where you're not sure what you're saying, just as long as you're saying something?

As you learned the other day with your rant that ended with you arguing against yourself, Grosvenor didn't object to their licence, so all the crap you'd written about that was redundant. As was the stuff you'd written saying the only reason me and Stu had replied was coz Grosvenor sponsor us. That was redundant as it wasn't Stu at all, it was Karl Mahrenholz replying. But that doesn't seem to stop u or cause u to take anything back you've ranted on about, why let the facts get in the way. I notice u didn't go back and readress any of the points you'd glossed over as Grosvenor had a vested interest which you'd since learned was wrong. Why would u.

Arguing that black is white for the sake of it doesn't make u clever or a wind up merchant, it just makes u an argumentative chap with too much time on his hands,  just gets boring after a while. So if you could keep all that on one thread and stop spoiling the other excellent diaries it would be much appreciated. For the record tho, we all now no how many satellite seats you've won and where, who the good players are in your opinion, what your wife thinks about u being on blonde all the time, where you got your indonesian boyish good looks from etc etc so no need to tell his all again, let alone on every thread in triplicate

you are correct that G did not object but they did provide their highly experienced legal team to help out gala in their efforts to keep dtd from opening. this also back fired on the G as it resulted in a legal bill that must have been close to £1million.

as soon i get any requests to not post on their diary i will continue to do this. as of yet i have not had one.
as i have to answer fan mail daily i dont see this as happening in the near future.

this aint got owt to do with poker dave. there is no doubt that G casino see DTD as a thorn in their side. Every person that sets foot inside DTD to play poker will be seen as 1 more punter that could have been in a casino. when grosvenor were the big boys and the gala tour ended there was no big out cry of support saying we need both tours and competition. now that dtd are clicking up a gear and running more monte carlos and with massive gtd prize pools this is obv good for poker. i honestly dont want to see the GUKPT tour fail but when fuck ups are being made then i aint gonna kiss arse and say alls good.

My support for G is laughable? Because I the DTD guys asked me to support them before they opened, what three or four years back (long before I had any association with Grosvenor other than a player)? You're entitled to your opinion, although as ever it's ill-educated. I'm not sure where u get the new facts about millions here, and even how experienced these legal people are, but seeing as you've been wrong about everything else, safe to say it will be taken with a pinch of salt.

Is it as laughable as launching into a tirade against a whole tour when the reason was because many months ago a td made a jokey comment (the second time) rather than tell you again that as u bagged and tagged and opened your own chips you won't be getting any more? Possibley it wasn't 100% professional to make a throwaway comment, but then the way you behaved swearing at him and threatening physical violence and finding out his home address probably wasn't the right thing to do either. Perhaps you could forget it either way?

Even if you're right about Grosvenor, what's your point? Actually, pls don't answer, as you'll just be arguning the opposite later on (in triplicate). Not sure Blonde should be publishing them tho, unless they know it to be correct. I hear they have a million pound legal team who have so little to do they're working for their rivals.

If you're angry with yourself about something from two years ago that had nothing to do with you between two people who don't know you and a problem that didn't concern you, maybe you should deal with that anger personally and sort it out for yourself rather than continually drivelling on about it (although only in duplicate do far, one more to go I'm guessing) on a public forum, just a suggestion

I think it'll be a great success and i have only ever been wrong once. that was when i thought i may have been wrong but in fact i was right all along.

If I owned a casino I would object to another casino opening. Objecting to something that's going to be bad for your business is standard. Furthermore it would be natural for Grosvenor to see dtd as a thorn in their side because they are a successful rival business. You are free to choose your response to new competition in the marketplace and Grosvenor are free to choose theirs. What usually happens is the existing business tries even harder for it's custom, raising the bar with standards and getting creative with ideas. If sufficient demand exists both businesses succeed with competing high standards and it's only the customers who benefit. I don't see a problem with any of this.

sorry about the delay in posting. been away to scarborough for the weekend with the 3 boys and the wife. i hate sand and almost have a phobia to it but put up with the stuff for the sake of the kids. i have had limited internet access so have been some what awol from here and sadbook.

alls not well in the Herbert household at this time. i live in a  modest  4 bedroomed detached house but latley we have picked up some extra occupants. i am now sharing this house with TWO wives (one of with is not mine) a 3 year old, four twins 2 years old (two of which are not mine), 18 year old step son and a girl friend (which is not mine either and belongs to the step son). 10 people living in my house is starting to cause me stress and hassle i dont need and its beginning to make my shit itch. the teenagers are at college, wife just gone to work and i'm hoping someone elses wife has gone back to her husband to try and sort her stuff out.
just had half an hour in the garden with the 3 boys but its a bit windy so we now have mickey mouse in the 3 musketeers on the tv and they are bashing hell out of each other with foam swords.

a bit has been made of me and winning seats lately and i did try the £30 freezeout for another deepstack last night. most damage was caused holding QQ on flop of 652 when A6 set me all in only to river an Ace. i exited 21st and this guy had a stack which would have been average on the final table but ended up out in 19th. same old faces on the final AVILLAN, RICK117, CHIPPYMAN and BOOKIEBASH all making a good showing. Jim won a seat and Frankie won e320 for 3rd so as good as won a seat. i have never been a big fan of swopping %ages as i rate myself better than anyone who would want to swop with me, however it does cause a little irritation with my mates and horses that i swop with frankie. so far nothing has come my way from frankie but plenty has gone his way. but like he says if i did not swop with him i would probably win nothing so its good for both of us all round.

by the way this is not my diary but will post a reply to jeff for all those waiting for it later when i've put the boys to bed

thanks to Alex in the I.T. department for sorting this out as there have been some technical issues with this thread.  i am not  "Doing a Cos" honestly i'm not and have been meaning to post again even tho i still maintain THIS IS NOT MY DIARY.

As you can probably imagine i have had to seek legal advice recently over some of my more controversial posts. As i have now been given the go ahead from all third parties that i would not want to upset i have been given poetic license until said times that the aforementioned third parties remove my soap box.

first off Mr Bam please dont be offended by my posts. (This is what I hate about poker self obsessed morons, they tilt me more than 5% river chances hitting). dont let it get to you as a lot of, if not most of my posts are tongue in cheek and i intended to provoke  a reaction. but i do walk the walk as well as talk the talk.please come and say hello anytime i am in the same room as you or alternatively ask to join the queue to punch me but you may be a while waiting your turn. you could always not read the stuff but i know that curiosity will get the better of you and you will find yourself drAWN into my world. i have a good record of conquering hearts and minds. :)

the first statement is correct. i dont honestly want to see the gukpt fail and was a little bit of a backdown from me as more importantly i dont want a ban from G casinos. i realised i had an important thing to attend at the vic and do occasionally play some comps in sheffield / manchester etc.  the failings of the GUKPT have been highlighted by more important people than me and still the mistakes keep cropping up. even Pokerstars make mistakes but tend to rectify them pretty quickly (galway last december springs to mind.
the second statement was one of my "tongue in cheek"  moments  and it was pointed out by Mr Rab that grosvenor did not object to the opening of dtd through the courts. however as there is no G in Nottingham their objection would have be laughable. what grosevenor actually did was provide their legal team and all its might to Gala & London Casinos to aid their cause.  as we all know, thank god their efforts were thwarted by the considerably more experienced legal staff of a one MR Yong. My estimate of £1million being the cost to fight the opening of DTD for almost 2 years in the courts is based on hard evidence of which i unfortunatley am not at liberty to publish on this forum. you will have to just take my word for it on this i'm afraid.
it may turn out to be a prophetic statement as dtd seem to be taking on Grosvenors Goliath head on the monte carlo is becoming more regular and the results will be interesting to say the least. Goliath took on David once before and lost.
Infact why should i be that bothered about getting a life ban from Grosvenor, I'm probably bigger than the Rank organisation.

i did tell him to fuck off if he did not have anything constuctive to say (after him telling me the poker fairies must have nicked my chips) but never threatened violence or even found out his address in bolton. i always assumed he was just another loud mouthed geordie of which in my experience is about 25% of em. :)

On a personal note Jeff i dont want to fall out with you as a player. your record is amazing and it has to be said you are an icon of british poker but even you liked a good troll or to abuse players on ladbrokes back in the day.  you used to make guys lives hell in the chat box and following round to continue the abuse. i wont embarrass anyone by naming names but one of the guys is a good friend of mine. also you may appreciate that i'm just the gun being used to fire the bullets provided by others so dont take it personal.  When i asked one of the uk's current top players to join in he responded "lol not posting in that thread sorry, don't want to get on the wrong side of Jeff, he looks permanently on the verge of a suicidal killing spree, wouldn't want to get my name on the list". Just lighten up a bit and dont take life so serious.

Jason, I'm not offended (if that was your intention) of your opinion that I don't sit at a poker table laughing and joking and generally having a fun time, I sit there to work, concentrating and picking up on what others say and do to try and win tournaments. Most of the jovial 'it's only a game' type players having a fun time don't win. I want to win. You choose which one you want, I've chosen my way, and strangelly enough, don't feel the need to tell others they should be more like me. Can't work out why others can't do the same.

What I do take offence at is you reprinting quotes from years ago, and bringing/making up stories and quotes from 3 or 4 years ago which are deisgned to make life difficult for me, and presumably cause trouble for my continued sponsorship. Why are u asking pepole to get involved in this thread? Can't u find something better to do (as they obviously could?).

What is your motivation in dredging up the quote I gave to Paul Jackson and Rob Yong when they were asking for support in opening DTD? Make me look bad as a G sponsored player? That's the only conclusion I can come to, esp when u describe my relationship with them as 'laughable' subsequently. I did that as a favour to friends about 4 years ago before I was sposnored by Grosvenor. So what? Tbh it's neither here nor there to me whether DTD opened as it's too far from me, but friends asked for my support, it seems to have made many people happy, yourself included, so why are u causing trouble with those that tried to help it open? I'll certainly think twice about being forthcoming with help in the future, given that people will try and use it against me in the future.

first paragraph...i dont want to offend you and i love your manner at the table and agree 100% your way is professional and the correct way to play. i only started the table trash talk in september and like wearing the hoodies it serves a purpose and helps my style of play get paid when possibly the opponent would usually fold.

second paragraph was not intended to cause trouble with your sponsor but just to highlight  your change in attitude and the fact you now have to bow to the man. i dont want you to be put in a position with G so i hold my hands up and say sorry. you wont have any problem getting another sponsor should Grosvenor's poker budget be cut in the near future. it was not this thread i asked him to get involved in but another one and i believe he is now in or on the way to vegas.... i know his bum hole will be twitching but as he is in the group of nicest guys in poker, just behind julian thew, i have no intention of outting him.

third paragraph see above really. but now your posts are starting to look just like back tracking and more sucking upto G. i am fully aware of fallings out between dtd and actionjack and have spoke to paul. i signed off one of my threads paul jackson which i thought was funny at the time but forgot about the falling out. paul is also my hero and i was the daddy a couple of times and think he is one of the funniest guys in poker (along with channing & padraig & marty).

If you don't play table games, it doesn't make much diff if they're there or not and you don't care either way, altho I guess u could argue some of the mugs who throw their money away there would be more welcomed getting straight to a cash game without losing at them....but they again possibley they wouldn't be anywhere near a poker table if there wasn't table games to attract them into the establishment.

So, let's start rectifying the mistakes in your latest inaccurate ramble.

- I'm not sure why u say my head is up my arse? I said I don't know u. I know who u are. I remember u sitting at tables while I've played before. I have mental 'player notes' on u if I played u again. I said I don't know u, not who u are.
- I don't have an employer.
- I didn't make any threat.
- I have passed my legal journalism exams so I do actually know the best defences in slander cases. Presume same for u.
- my problem is u dragging up things from years ago about me, someone u don't know, for no reason other than to cause trouble. This is a poker forum which used to be a good place to talk about poker.
- I love the fact that everyone looks to u, Clark Kent, to save the day when someone has an argument with a very close friend and uses a swear word at them. God forbid swearing at a girl. U let your people down Clark.
- I love even more that that's your life's big regret. Why haven't u done something about it the past rather than post random bits of half a shit story on a public forum since? U know neither of us, and anything about the situation, so why do u think it's your job to get involved two years down the line? I'd love to know what option 1 was, want to tell me (not your diary, me, pm me if u want rather than writing drivel in public)? I'm starting to regret u didn't take it too.

You must have had a very satisfying life to have that as your biggest regret, u should tell us all about it in your diary (your life, not your idle two year old gossip). To fill in the gaps for u tho, and add in some facts,  me and Dena managed to make up and take an hour's taxi to some random airport to fly home together. If we managed to forget it within an hour, maybe u could put your massive regrets behind u two years down the line? And if u can't and u want to speak to me, maybe man up and speak to me personally not try and cause outrage by posting half a story u don't know publicly?

R.e The Firm. there are several people associated with the firm, some of whom I like very much, some of whom I dont particulally like and some of whom I dont really know - Jeff fits into the latter category and iirc his total involvement was (most likely as a favor to Mark M more than anything else) was to go on the "stake and rail" section of the site for the GUKPT london. Pretty sure Jeff doesn't need the help of the firm to shift 20% of his action in a GUKPT, and he sold at a higher premium but people snaped it off so fairs fair imo. Everyone who bought a share got a small return and the stake and rail had something to rail so Aaron was delighted. /topic on that

Yes, complete truth, in the Kate story. She was doing stuff for the firm, got a better offer to do the same thing for someone else so has gone to do it. She still runs the IT side of things for the firm and even me who does very little work for the firm is still on good terms and regular contact, pretty simple business stuff no drama here /topic on this too

that was a long 24 hours

on reflection tighty did right removing the post As it was a bit personal, although 100% true.

hoping no one pm'd flushy coz thats a bollocking i aint looking forward to. his only other post to anything i ever said was "hu4rollz" and he claimed to have never said that to anyone  before. hope he likes playing for peanuts but i fancy my chances. have only got a small sample size of one hand i think but bust his arse in that one hand so although i never got a vest as it was a live high roller event and i must start out favourite.

for anyone interested, on thursdays Toby Jake and durrr are at play school all day so me and the wife get a bit of quality time. i shaved my balls and had some okish sex followed up by lunch in the local Thai place. we then spent the afternoon in toys r  us getting some prezzies for Alisters 4th birthday next friday.

by the way it has also been pointed out to me that DTD monte carlo is going head to head with gukpt luton and the grand prix is the week before some Goliath comp run by G coventry (my fav  G casino in the country). i have yet to confirm if it is true but it may be that some of my ramblings may yet turn out to be prophetic.

some of my funniest/best nights have been spent over in manchester. a few years ago we were making the two hour trip probably 3 nights a week to play in the 235, circus and 36 stockport etc. all £20-£50 rebuys with £10k + pots and decent DC games if you dont out last your mate/driver. Oh and the £250 re buy in 36 one sunday a month. that was an arse nip contest if you had ali mallu, loz gosney or abid on your table. them guys play it like a £5 re buy.

Great utube. My first taste of live poker was at Stockport 36 best free food and drink. I used 2 drive my mate who had cancer and sadly died last year was more of a roulette player then poker. He gave me some of the best advice about poker and when I win tourneys always have a look 2 sky above and hope he's watching . Shame you not in team event tmw . am a technophobe but got showed how to do that recently. yes those buffets were exceptional and the free drinks. i remember shaff drinking double brandy till it came out of his ears. when the new owners insisted on £1 a drink i never saw him have another one. yes we lost george geary recently and that was the first time i have cried in ages. problem with team events is you need to find people who wanna be in your team. hope caroline cougar and her team qualified. it may have been a little awkward if we were on the same table but not as much as if that censored post had got through tighty. Jeff is in a team with karl moansandlolz , Cos and his bird. it is a bit superstar weighted but my love for Cos wants me to see that team do well but would assume they are all off to vegas anyway so they may give the prize to charity if they win. :0

there would appear to be a clash of dates but i think anyone wanting to play all 4 events could probably manage it  although you could not play day 2 gukpt and day 2 grand prix.

my prediction is we  may see jaffacake playing at dtd sooner rather than later

yes this is pretty unbelievable. everyone knows ALI's range and for him to not get a hand he could not bring himself to play must have been some seriously bad hands. have to point out that this was not a national ban but a particular cardroom manager who took a dis like to Ali and it has only been recently that Ali could get into the G in manchester

Ali has had such a colourfull life. i would rather sit on a table with the likes of ALI, Mickey the worm, tikay, mr gosney, etc just listening to the banter and not giving a toss if i won a single hand or not. much better than owning a table of guys who have no personality playing like robots. All Ali told me was that it was a problem that the guy in manchester had and it was the only one he was not allowed into until recently.

please can i get some help. i was discussing a hand with someone that occured in a game on full tilt. the game was for a seat to the wsop and there were about 16 players left. 6 seats 360k in play and we have 41k and sat with AA and the guy before us open shoves 30k. my mate said fold, i pissed myself and he said put it in pokerstove and we will find out. now i aint sure if my mates arse is going a bit but he has now sent me a different hand from later on  in the same game were i said that folding would be correct as we were now 7 players left and now was a different matter entirely. can i use this information i have to go back and find the correct hand?

In all my time on this planet I have never agreed with anything more than this.

its not my diary cos.....my opinion exactly. what i'm more troubled by is that i like the guys doing the seminar and they were on about sngwizard so i asked em to put the hand into the programme then and there and it was like "err oh my free months trial has expired". now they send me the wrong hand and this cat aint the hippest of guys but can smell when he is getting mugged off by these dogs. as you know i only play sats for seats on line these days but left the seminar thinking how many seats have these guys ever luck boxed. i will try to get the correct hand and post it.

yes sorry gouty and guys. but believe it or not when you are as good at the game as i am you dont stop one step ahead of the field by sitting on your laurels. poker is all about adapting to each opponent in every hand and every given situation. more and more of my opponents  are coming from an on line enviroment where they play millions of hands and use all the software that is available to em. i want to learn as much about these guys and their way of thinking so i can use this in my game to out play them. a prime example is shoving ranges of these guys. they know when it is profitable to shove XX dogshit off suit and i only really catch em when sat in the bb with AA n KK. by understanding their thinking i am now able to make a marginal call with QQ and AK. see one step ahead.
now i know you all love the me "taking the piss and looking a twat" parts of this thread but i want there to be something for everyone here. the last thing i wanna do is alienate anyone from taking part (the diary with me just talking to mrs h would be a bit boring. then again you probably would all get off on that). you never know i'm even thinking about chucking the odd quiz in here.

Not been able to post tonight coz mrs h has wanted a bit of quality time. Was a little disappointed at the numbers but not the standard at the poker for heros. I am the idiot tonight coz if you know you can't bluff an idiot and you try then this makes me an idiot too. Oh was shown something, seen something with my own eyes and told something that may have big reprocussions for poker in this country tonight. just to emphasise the first lesson in the book "ABC poker, how to beat idiots" i will just run through 2 hands i played yesterday that underline that my theory about not being able to bluff idiots is correct. the first hand invloves me doing my bollocks with my fav hand which is number one son Alister James ( Ad Jh in this case ).
i open from early position and trumper calls having seen me playing my normal game and i pick up a call from the small blind who recently arrived at the table.     flop comes  7d 8d 9x . small blind checks i c bet with a few draws (str8/ backdoor nut flush) simon calls and so does the sb. the killer card now drops for me  Qd on the turn. sb checks i bet half pot and we lose simon but sb calls. blank river comes and i am sat with ace high and this is poker for heros and i am sat with no.1 son and i sure as hell am gonna leave my little soldier out there to die... sb checks so i bet out again. "do you have the flush says the guy. thats what i put you on. you've got the flush". now i know that this guy has a hand he likes so give him a speech with "i think you got A9 or AQ buddy (saw him call and all in with A9 on a 9 hi flop against a flush draw and the flush draw got there earlier). i showed every hand so far so if you show me i'll show you i got you beat". any way this guy eventually makes the crying call with  Qh Js. i show the  Ad and he says yeah i thought so which pisses me off then i may have just mucked the jack saying you are good (or showed the jack i dont remember). there are so many hands he loses to here and i would have the guys babies if instead of saying you must have a flush, he says something like i cant beat much except a bluff i call. then that makes me feel better.

now the second hand involves greek jack, another of the old school who i admire and most certainly aint an idiot and everyone knows that jack has all the moves too. (just a side about old school, young rodney from sheffield is crushing our table and he turns to me when simon goes off to do the raffle and says "that trumper is meant to be some uber rock aint he". i look and smile and say you aint really watching whats going on are you. how has simon got 90% of the 25 ante chips on this table. you may have all the purple 5k chips but simon is going about his business very nicely and you never see rocks with all the ante chips). anyway its quite a similar hand to the one above. i open once again in early position with  no.3 son jake kiyonari ( Jd Kd ) pick up 2 callers including jack in the bb.
fop comes   Ad Ks 4h. jack check calls when i cbet we lose the other guy. same situation occurs again when  8d turns. jack checks so i bet 3/4 of the pot with 2nd pair nflush draw knowing jack aint called with nothing but cant have too strong a hand pre as he 3 bets. jack shows me an ace and asks me to show him AQ. i hate showing jack my hand here coz  i feel i have disrespected him but try to make him feel better by telling him i get there on the river.
you can only bluff good players, you cant bluff idiots.

No was having a bad day then. I thought I had said sorry but if I did not then I offer one now. I usually love my life being able to do what I want when I want. I have a beautifull family that I spend loads of quality time with.  Playing poker has allowed me not to have the constraints and stress from a real job for a long time now but still have to constantly remind myself how lucky i am.

They only things that have gone tits up inthe last 6 months are that I have blown a load of my money in a business that's gone down and my mum is pretty terminal with cancer.

But today's gonna be a good day because Toby and Jakey are 3 today and they share a birthday with lildave who just looks 3. Happy birthday guys.

It's abit hit and miss tho some courses some were average then some where amazing but overal very good

yes but suppose in 8 courses you gonna find one or two not to your taste

A bunch of us went to é at Jaleo in the Cosmopolitan last week and it's a private restaurant within the restaurant. It's a table for 8 that's like a semi circle and the chefs prepare all 24 courses as you watch. It was a pretty special experience although for $400 a head it should be!!

I think some of the stuff was a little too refined for the palates of Alex and myself but on the whole it was an incredible experience. I probably wouldn't return but it was worth doing just to try it out and see what it was all about. Some of the dishes were just a bit too fancy and others were really good.

Cos and Sunny could probably put together a better TR than me for the meal anyway as I'm a bit of a caveman food wise and just muller whatever is put on my plate!!

yes i read about this. sounds great and i much prefer doing this than a night club and drinking to excess. one of the better ways to spend $400 in vegas i think

sigh not good news. could have 5 mins could have 5 years. defo secondary cancer of some sort but have to wait more results. she is in lots of pain so all about the quality of life from here on in i think.

Ty all. I am 41 and if I am being totally honest have not been close to my mum until the boys were born in the last 4 years. I have a bit of sibling rivalry with my sister and my mum tends to spend most of her time looking after her kids who are 8 and 6. I fell out with my sister 7 years ago and ain't spoke since but love my niece and nephew and infact I looked after my nephew every Friday for the first year of his life. I don't have a problem with my mum helping my sister at all because she got divorced a couple of years back and this year was made redundant from her position of financial director when new owners took over the company she had 15 years with, so now she commutes an hour a day now to a new job.

Cancer is a horrible disease and I am a little biased because I have lost so many friends and relatives who have under gone the horrible treatment only to die anyway. Once you get diagnosed and they start the chemotherapy and radio then that seems to be game over to any quality of life in my opinion. I believe this so much that should I ever get cancer ( the chances are quite high) then I will really on my will power to fight the cause.

I have had 9 months to come to terms with my mums illness and never really show my emotions but yesterday everytime I look at the 3 boys I well up thinking they ain't gonna have a nanna for years to come.

I understand almost exactly what you're going through Jase and my thoughts are with you.

Jase, I understand that you're biased about cancer and treatment etc, but if it could be treated with will power alone, then I doubt anyone would ever die from it.

Plenty of people receive treatment and recover, to lead a normal life.

Each case is obviously different, but surely if you were to ever get cancer, and the doc said treatment could cure it, then that would surely be better than relying on will power?

We lost Dad's mum and his only brother to cancer in the space of 6 months a few years ago. Such a  devastating disease, thoughts with you all and hope that they can ease her pain as much as possible.

Catherines working week goes from Sunday to Sunday and she worked all day yesterday and today and is now finished all her hours for the week. God knows why bookies are open till 10pm especially on a Sunday but there you go. The weather has been tez to do anything decent with the boys so after going to a stay and play session especially for families with twins I took them upto the hospital to see my mum.

She was flat out when we got there and my auntie was sat with her. She perked up when she saw the kids and managed a smile but I noticed they have now given her another intra Venus to administer some drugs this time to try and stop her being sick ( she has not eaten / kept anything down for over 10 weeks now). That does not seem to be working any better than the morphine that she is on as well.

Anyway I have a bit of an awkward moment because as we get ready to go it's kisses all round from the kids and just as I am going my auntie wants the bloody customary 2 air kisses from me on either cheeks (well she us a retired French teacher and always thought she is posher than she is).
Now I feel bad and find myself feeling guilty that now I have to give my mum a good bye kiss too. This is the first time I have kissed my mum in 25 years and manage to hold it together until I get in the lift. When the boys ask me why I'm crying I tell them a little White lie but I'm sure they are a bit young to understand. X

Just read this Jason, know we haven't met properly (did see you in Galway, who can miss the hoody) - just wanted to say my thoughts are with you and know exactly what you're going through. Dad was diagnosed 18 months ago, and at the moment it's very tough as just had a secondary tumour identified since I got back from Vegas last week. I find it hard enough although I'm fortunate enough to have time at the moment as in between jobs, and no family - can imagine how tough it is to balance everything. Stay strong - best way to support your mum.

I actually knew the guys who won seats the same time as me and the night before and we knew something was up with the draw. Pro's together, last years leader board together , and anyone who bought in at the same time together.

Not good news today as my mum was told she may not even have 3 months. Strange thing is she looked better this afternoon than she has for ages. My wife just had a go at me for not showing any emotion (great poker ability)  but am sat with the kids watching tv in their step brothers room and can hardly see the key board for tears.

So sorry to hear all this - I hope that talking about it here is helping you to deal with it. The impact on you and your family will be big but from what little I know of you through here it seems you have a strong family around you.
We lost my Mum a few years back, she was 80 when she was diagnosed and accepted her fate with a lot of class. She was a very classy, caring woman my Mum.
Anyway, having been diagnosed in hospital she went home for the last few weeks of her life and we had the most amazing support from the MacMillan Nurses.
We also had the benefit of family rallying round. I spent weeks sleeping in spare rooms at various 2nd cousins' houses and hadn't felt that close to my extended family since I left home 30+ years ago. The rebuilding of those bonds produced something good out of the situation. It came back to the forefront last year when Dad had a triple bypass at age 84 and I had to spend a lot of time heping his recovery.

There's a huge amount of support out there from all sorts of sources, seek it out and embrace it.

It would be nice if I could rigg it for you given the circumstances...let me know if you manage to win a seat mate and maybe see you down there

Talking about it on here is helping a lot as I feel like I know most people and it gives me somewhere to look back and see how I was feeling leading at the time. One good thing is that I forgot that my wife comes on blonde every now and again and checks out what mischief I have been upto. I have been an arse with her for the last couple of months but I hope she knows deep down how much I love her.

Me and my sister don't get a long and I have years of not talking to her then may have a month of trying to be civil then years of not talking again. It works out well for us both but I think I will  offer to look after my niece and nephew. I live probably 5 mins walk from my sister and Alister starts infants in September and it's where Lucy and Eddie attend ATM. It's no real hassle for us to look after them early morning / late evening when she Is working.

Alister had an eye appointment at the hospital so we called into see my mum. she looks better than she has done for months and actually managed to keep a full yoghurt down. She was positively bouncing and feels upto leaving the hospital for a few hours to attend my nieces birthday party on Saturday. Did get a look off my mum, wife and Aunty when she was on about up grading her phone and getting a disabled badge for her car and i said it aint worth it for 3 months. i have never been too tactfull.

she requested a kids strawberry mcdonalds milkshake so i will take that upto her tonight then may fly down to DTD after visiting hours if i feel the force.

Failed to win a seat for the monte Carlo last night but both my mates who I travel to Dtd won one so gl to them and all blondes.

There's a fun day planned for the kids as we are going to their play school fete and then will be taken em swimming. With the twins just turned 3 and Alister 4 we have to have 3 adults ( council law or something) so some weeks we struggle to find someone but we generally try to go at least once a week. They love the water and have been going from their first injections.

You need one parent per kid when you take them swimming? What; 2 to keep an eye on the kids (in 2 hour shifts or with some sort of schedule) and one to keep an eye out of peados or something?

on holiday or in hotels they are more relaxed and i easily handle all 3 swimming on my own whilst the wife catches the rays.
my ex of 15 years worked worked as a social worker on child protection teams and the number of them perverts  is far higher than anyone could imagine. think len fairclough from coronation street got done for something in a swimming pool.

I got done for something in a swimming pool once...not the best day of my life...the shame was unbearable.

The 'how many adults' issue seems to be decided by local management. I used to take my two, plus an occasional friend when they were learning, and still take two grandkids at a time both locally and in Norfolk where three of them live. Our local pools in Stockton on Tees say one person over sixteen to two children for under eights.

Yes I am a little pissed off at myself because I love tighty, tikay and red dog but did not like the threat to ban me for trolling when I was just being me, no more harder on him than anyone else. Why threaten to ban me in a pm why not put it on the thread. Only accused him of googling questions that others had suspected and this turns out to be the real reason the numbers for the rsq have dropped from 40. I only entered the last couple for a laugh. If they want it to be a site just for them then they can have it that way. I have been invited to 6 forums that say they would appreciate my talents and sense of humour. I am only trying to make the place fun, interesting and generate more traffic. I give it out to everyone and if it happens to be your turn to get some and you start crying like a bitch I sure as hell ain't gonna stop. Pm me the two that I should know about cos but do it on Facebook coz I am being monitored and I reckon they've bugged my house.

From what Jason has said his mum hasn't got long now. Dealing with the death of a parent is hard enough when it comes out of the blue, but I'd imagine in many ways this must be so much worse. Even once she is out of pain J will still have to deal with the funeral and the greiving process. Tough times. Luckily he's got a lot of real mates, people who know him not people who judge him based on the shite he posts on here :) I think if I only knew him through Blonde I would probably hate him! As it is, I got to know him before he discovered the joys of trolling which has to be a good thing. looking forward to having him back.

I just wanted to share this with all the blondes on here who are like my family and did not want to post it in the ukipt thread as it was more personnel and only want to share it with the regs who might Open up this thread.


Yesterday I was driving down for the 2nd day of the ukipt. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining and the stero was beating out tunes. All of a sudden I hear my mums voice in my head and I think she says " you are gonna win this". I obviously shout over the music that I know I am. Then she says "turn that bloody music down. You're not listening to me". So like the soppy old fool I am I turned the music down ( I never listened to my mum properly when she was here so I thought it was worth the effort).  " I did not say you were gonna win this. I said it does not matter if you don't win this. I will always be proud of you".

Well as you can imagine that set the tears off and even 24 hours later I am still welling up thinking about it. Poker is a very cruel game and does not always reward the best players. I hope today I represent Blonde in a good way, win or lose i hope i make you as proud of me as my mum is. X

Aren't mum's great? Wish mine was still around too.

Ty folks.  I have a knack of winding people up at the tables too which obv is part of the plan to make it easier for them to call me when I want then to. This weekend was not meant to be and like the Irish open exit in 37th when i lost QQ vAQ to Rob Sherwood I will always think what if. :(    I am in a comfortable place with poker and always look for positives and In the cold light of day (or 2am because I just had one of the kids wake up) coming 28th ain't too shabby an effort. I mentioned before that poker is a cruel game and if it was all down to skill tomorrow you would have seen quite a decent heads up battle between myself and chris Brammer. He will be devestated  by not winning this but in time he will also learn to appreciate how awesome he played and without doubt more success is on his way.

I played with Iqbal quite a bit over day 2 and 3 and would love to see him get heads up. His opponent has to be Ian Senior. As I drive into Dtd just off the motorway in a layby is a flower seller and I set off early this morning to be first through the doors with a bunch of flowers for Maria on reception ( all part of my run good and good karma thing ). Obv I don't want anyone seeing me with a bunch of flowers so I turn up at 11 am and fml Ian is on the doorstep like an excited puppy waiting to go. We got chatting as Sinclair had not got the doors open and Ian was explaining that he had seen my coverage on the Pokerstars blog. He told me he had 160k and was strictly a recreational player and I think he was possibly an accountant and was hoping to get lucky and make the money. I then went into detail about how every final has players of differing abilities who get there through both good play and good fortune and this final will be no exception. Had he told me his back situation with his wife I am pretty sure we would have both been stood outside in floods of tears.  Good luck to Ian.

My word, Jason has caused Tighty & I, & the Mods, a headache or two, no denying that, but it was all worth it, & he's in a good place here now, & does more than you can imagine for the Community, & writes to me regularly telling me how he has converted another lurker into a proper blonde. He has an uncanny knack for digging holes for himslf, & he has his own way of getting out of them - keep digging.

The Ian Senior story is a whole book in itslelf, more on which later.

Hey Taximan, my time on there was the mid 2000's and was SMASHED on there. I became smashedagain probably about 2006/7 after a problem with my account. Obv recognise red dog, Jaffacake, marky n junior from those days but do often wonder what happened to wildrick,  plymlegend hitmanbull etc etc. does decision still crush like he did in them days ??? Once they had fell out with action jack the site seemed to decline rapidly but the icing on the cake for me was being asked not to use the wife's shop to withdraw my money ( like it was ever really gonna be a problem and just showed what an anal company it had become ). Making the leaderboards was a formality but my biggest regret was not winning the "whose the daddy". I had been approached about applying to join bad beat but politely declined and often used to get asked if I was related to Richard Herbert ( we are only became mates a few years ago). Wow poker girl , the salmon , sonnertt true pioneers of the game but obv a playing in a different universe.


I used to fall out almost every night  but never during the day with a player on there called raggster2 ( not raggster, a different guy altogether and seemed like a good egg)  and I was pretty sure if we ever met we would kill one another. Well 2 years ago I was in Coventry at poss gukpt or ukipt and got talking with the lad next to me who was no more than 20. Anyway the conversation got round to laddies and key board warriors and this guy raggster 2. Well this lads face just dropped like he had seen a ghost and he told me he was Raggster 2 and I just laughed because he obviously was too young to be him. He told me that at the time he was 14 or 15 and his dad had actually deposited money on there for him to play.

There was a guy called taximan on there, it wasn't you was it?  :D

Plymlegend posts regularly on our forum and has just got back from a mini Cos like break to Thailand with all his mate. The blogging of their trip was a  bit NSFW compared to our own policeman's though and included some fun with the girls lookers in those pics Woodsey posted :D

Not sure about hitmanbull as I never really spoke to him unless he was playing at my table unlike the other two guys.

Used to talk to Jon Hansmeyer (Decision) a fair bit on msn but not seen him signed in for ages and he's gone from Facebook too but I'm sure he's still doing alright for himself wherever he is.

I remember I lost HU in the Daddy comp and was absolutely gutted for weeks, when I told my mates I'd won $16k in a poker tournament they couldn't work out how I was gutted :D

Everyone is a lot younger than me usually and i like that ken barlow of poker and will use it. Tell him I'm sorry if he felt uncomfortable with it and  be little'd as that was my intention. In all honesty  if I hendonmobed him I would have done it prior to sitting down because I could never get any wifi connection. I used that hendonmob joke 3 times over the last 2 days and and picked on seat 5 each time but as you know the hendonmob is no measure of success. One of the guys was Iqbal who finished 2nd and i proper gave him both barrels to encourage him to double me up so think it may have been a geordie lad. If you wanna pm me his name I will make sure i will appologise to him in person. The other lad o did it too was a friend of Jamie O'conners but doubt it was him because although at the time he wanted to kill me he was later grateful i went 40 miles out of my way to give him a lift home and turned out to be great company on the way home . Good for you that uou wanna stick up for your mates, and thats a quality that i admire. Some of my closest friends in poker have had me take the piss out of them the first time I met them and it all turned out cool :)

As for online poker Marky I have fond memories of those days but would never wish to return to playing 8 hour days and now only play online when I need to win cheap seats into comps. The game has moved on beyond all recognition and I have had the opportunity to watch at first hand some of the best uk online players during their usual Sunday grind and tbh I think I would prefer a job on the checkout at tesco scanning beans all day :)

Yeah memory is terrible and cloudy. Rugster1 is a young Asian lad and it was very weird meeting him. It still makes me smile now

I started playing 2003/4 and the highlight was obviously qualifying for the 2004 cruise (1st one), I recognise all the names you mention and of course there were a lot more, although got to be honest and say I don't recognise yours.

A couple of othere were RACH (a guy) and starmac2004 both whom I got to meet at Torquay Casino

I had some great times on Laddies and made many good friends (most i have never met).

One of the top people was without doubt Micky147 (Marky's dad) I met Micky and Lizzie on the cruise and following on from that he ran some tournaments at his snooker club of which he was kind enough to invite me to, a real Genleman in all senses.

Such good memories....................

I think I was on that Cruise, too - was it the one where there was a godawful storm on the first night @ sea, & everyone was spewing @ the tables? Literally.

I played the 1st day one finishing 12/55 if i remember rightly top 9 went through to day 2

My starting table included Hellraiser to my left, and Devilfish (i hit quads against his house  :) )

Laddies was very good to me. I could never put in the volume to get high up the leader boards as I work full time, but I shipped all the main weekly tourneys at least one on there, some more than once.  :)

I was Titteryenot on Laddies and must have played every night for about five years on there.

I remember Mickey147 well and used to ask who was playing the account that night Mickey or Marky.

ActionJack is one of the only guys I know who types as fast as he talks and he talks fast. He was absolutely hilarious in the chat-box, the perv.

My best week on there was when I came 4th in both The Daddy on Tuesday and the Sunday $100k.

I use to love watching actionjack chat, so many people just never got him!!!

I was very rarely a big winner in MTTs but I did ok on the SnGs, the thing I really remember is the regular 'big winners' like AJ, Sealey, yes even Red Dog ALWAYS had time to chat and answer sensible questions in a positive way something I was always grateful for.


Tikay: the cruise sailed out of Venice, not sure about the storm but I was pretty pissed after the welcome party thrown by Laddies  ;)

Ahh, different Cruise, the one I referred to sailed out of Miami. Probably 2005, or thereabouts. Even then, I was being given freebies. ;)

I was, ostensibly, there to blog, & write puff articles for Laddies on a Daily basis.  But once we set sail, & with limited wifi capacity, they refused to allow me use of the wifi. So I ended up writing articles every single day - quite decent ( by my standard, too) - but not one ever saw the light of day.

5 or 6 days into the Cruise, Jesse May (associated with Laddies then) told me that the Laddies Cruise Manager had complained that I had not published any stuff, so he felt I was freeloading. I explained why, he said he would get back to me. That was the last I heard.

Low point of the cruise was Devilfish doing a "turn" on the last night, with his guitar. Norman Pace was the resident entertainer, as I recall.

I had not planned to play the Main Event, it was $5,000 or whatever, but several friends suggested that they would like buy some of my action, & soon, 75% was sold. I busted the Tourney on Day one, & my biggest investor, for 25%, failed to pay up. Win some, lose some.

Its fun to dream what it was like back then  :D

I also played on Laddies, I played as BigSpike before they merged and i was forced to change my name. Did well on the money front and made it high up on the leaderboards a few times.

Other names i remember that i haven't seen people mention: shedboymuff, VISA2005 and new1home.

Wildrick is responsible for the worst beat i have ever taken deep in a biggie i flopped a boat with kk on kjj flop, he got it in with aq, I actually laughed at my screen.. turn j, river j. geeeeeg. Obv i still haven't forgot it 8yrs later..

So true Woodsey. On that cruise tikay a friend of ours Tiger Lilly from hull had a rather nasty accident and ended up trying to take laddies to court over it. Seabass was the golden girl at the time and it was no suprise that Norman was the entertainment. Never went on a cruise due to the fact I have been ill every single time I have been on a ferry. Must have made 50 ferry crossing and am 50 for 50 from being I child when my dad was in the army in Germany and we would drive back to the uk a couple of times a year through to my adult life were I would go to match fishing festivals to Ireland a couple of times a year. The sea can be like a mill pond and it still does not stop me being sick

Because my name was titteryenot every time I was on the same table as a scandie player named marton I used to call him matron a la carry on movies. He of course didn't get it but all the brits found it hilarious.

Marton thought I was his best buddy on there.

I remember VISA2005 well I used to play with him a lot, also punkfloyd, bigTR, and strummer.

Yeah I have recommended a few people to badbeat the last one was a German/Croatian lad last year called Marko. Don't hear to much about em tho. Right off shopping with twins and wife

IIRC, it was "c-bass", not seabass, but I may be wrong. (Norman Pace's wife, Bev). She does a tremendous amount of charity work these days, for children with epilepsy.

I bumped into Big TR only last week, can't recall where. He's not changed one bit.

TBF, I was at the table when he made 1 of his Hendon Mob jokes (dunno if it was your mate or not) and as well as finding it hilarious I thought it was obv to the whole table he was joking.  It was #3 in the Jason Herbert hilarious quotes of the weekend list

Lol Ty. I never set out to upset anyone and just try to use a bit of comedy to ease the tension etc. I would be mortified if I got put in the same group as Andy Bradshaw, Ade Akywotsit and Chinese Frankie :)

I am very aware of the fact that I am representing the blonde community so try not to cross the line if I can help it. Tbh I had a good weekend and had a great laugh with lots of people

C Bass was correct, the cruise you went on was it the same one Des Wilson (swimming with the devilfish) went on? he was frerolled by Laddies also for the WSOP to do a diary, got to know Des very well playing in Cornwall on the local circuit there, really nice gentleman.

I had Ade on my table on day 2 at the weekend. He came to the table and obv I knew who he was. I welcomed him to the table and asked him his name and we had a bit of banter, he was actually quite pleasant for once.

At one time one of the photographers took his picture

Poker was great before I new enough to realise I was crap.

Lol. I think that guy is some sort of mma cage fighter type.

I left the navy in 2003 and was working as a roofer in 2004, I had been doing ok then won 8k during the xmas period and was due to go back 1st week in January. Slating a roof in during those months was anything but fun so when he said ok take the first week in January off and start back the week after I took a sabbatical and never went back. Shows how easy it must have been then if I was able to make plenty of dough  ;D

I had to treat it as a job so would go to the office with my old man, reg for all tourneys from 10am-3pm and play those out going home once finished. I'd have teat at home and then reg for everything up until the $44 Graveyard tourney at 2am. I couldn't get enough and played that schedule most days for an age, I thought I was a lot better than I was which is standard but back then it was like printing money. I turned into a tool though and the way things went in the following years I'm glad things turned the way they did. I wasn't too bothered when the Dr told me to find something more stable to do as I needed some structure and life>>>>>> poker. I went completely the other way though and only splash about in bowl comps now and it's much less stressful and I can still win (just about) :D

Have to say though I've made more good friends through poker than I did in 4 years in the Navy and probably have as many close friends through poker as I do from home strange as that may be. I must be getting on now recounting the old days like I should be plotted up in front of the fire with my pipe and slippers  :P

I didn't go on the 2004 cruise, I did go on the one Tony is referring to after chopping the Ladbrokes Tallinn comp in the November. I had agreed with a swedish popstar who came with another swedish friend of mine and Kunku,  Leecz000r that we'd take the other as our guest if either of us won. We ended up getting heads up so it was just playing to see who got the main event ticket which was $5.5k as Tikay said which he won fml. I still got to play thanks to Badbeat who put me in along with a few other traders too.

Bev Pace's alias is cbass and Norman was the compere for the night and I think the female comedienne was Lucy Porter I think. Great trip and I'd imagine that was the last time a ferry company ever hired out a whole ship to poker players :D

Shedboymuff I speak to regularly he still grinds away until his son Evan starts school and then he's going back to work. Visa I speak to occasionally too and he's still grinding away also :)

yeah it was all good natured fun. The chip leader was Iqbal who went on to finish 2nd. He took it well and we chatted in the breaks and before day 3. Loads of people have asked me his user name on stars wanting to OPR ? Him and stuff because he told me he was a supernova. I also tell people abouts being supernova a few years back but that was when they were giving it away. When I asked him if he could make elite he tolde yes but maintaining it takes up too much time and commitment that he would not want to give to poker. I never asked his user name but a little piece of me wants to believe that he only told me that he was supernova and use me to tell the whole field/world so he would have been shown more respect. :)

Bit upset to see a good friend of mine fall out with one of my favourite people in poker. I recommended both to each other and really played up both guys virtues. Only a few months ago they were getting the world together and looked an unstoppable team and this week they parted company. Both guys are gonna continue to be a massive success in the game but it breaks my heart when good friends go their separate ways.

Here is the thing on day 2a (obv two starting days) I go to my table and the tv cameras are there. I had checked out the table and there was one decent player who had come 2 nd in an ept in Barcelona for about 600k and assumed that they are there for him. I had talked to Norman Chad on 1a when he noticed the wedding ring and he liked the story and wanted a follow up ( the editor must have hated it because as far as I know it never aired and probably ended up on the cutting room floor.) I do an interview with him and they hang around for the first hand.

 I'm in the bb with JJ.  Get this. A guy who is in an electric wheel chair opens and I just flat. Now this guy can't hold his cards and has these  steel bars (calipers?) sticking out everywhere. He is allowed an assistant to help him out but actually looks at his card by sliding them into a little box he has made with mirrors in that reflect up his cards. The flop comes jack high and I check call a pot size bet. Same think check call his pot size bet on the blank turn. On the river I bet 3/4 the pot and as the guy is contemplating the call I come over all guilty. I tell him he has donated enough chips to me as a wedding present and if he folds I am gonna show him. He still wants to call but after a bit more coaxing he asks the dealer to turn his hand over for him as he is folding. Obv he has dem AA  and that's one of the few times I have not regretted soft playing someone.

Another old boy with a cowboy hat (claimed to be a neighbour and life long friend of Doyle was also on the table ,and I wish I could find my table draw) said something about having a lot of class. Infact I remember everytime I wanted to raise I would say "I would like to raise pleasE" and this female dealer actually thanked me for being so polite . How that hand never made tv I do not know.

Now for my exit hand. I was in a bit of a dilemma as had I made it through to the following day 3 it meant I would not be playing for another 3 days because they had to play day 2b and there was a days break ( media day they called it). Having not played the wsop before I had no idea that day 3 would actually be a week aftEr my day1 on july3rd. I had booked flights home for everybody so that morning I told the wife I would only be looking to go back to day 3 with a massive stack as I could not bear the thought of everyone going home without me.

Making day 3 gtd you to get into money and I was double average late on day 2 when I get dealt QQ. I 3 bet (re raised back then) an utg raiser who when it got back round to him insta 4 bet which back then screamed only 3 possible hands and I flat call set mining. The flop come King high and ordinarily that's my bottle gone and I'm done with the hand. But alas not on this occasion and call his lead. Then on the blank turn I call his shove knowing for sure I am going home with the family and luckily I fade my two queen outs  because he had dem aces.

This is turning into a very good diary what with all the tourney reports and old photos. BTW that dude in the wheelchair, I would have stuck those 3 jacks straight in his eye. I mean we learnt this from Fast Eddie Felson in The Color of Money when Vincent choked the pool game against old guy with hole in throat. This guy prob wanted to bust ur ass so bad the focker, so show some respect and bust his ass instead. Million he wants pity when playing cards.

Lol. Just after this photo was took Alister knocked a candle holder holder over and one of the candles broke. I offered to pay for the candle but the minister who was the only other person in room said it was not a problem. I gave him a generous tip in the envelope he provided. When the time came to get our video photos and certificate they would not let me have them unless I coughed up $500 (5 hundred ) for this antique candle. Ffs they must have burnt a candle a day with all the constant weddings.

Another funny thing that pissed em off was whilst we were hanging around 2 other groups asked to have their pictures taken with me because I looked more like Elvis than the guy provided by the chapel. Lol I loved getting married in vegas as fat Chinese elvis and probably would never have got married if it was not for poker :)

There girl in the picture is my step daughter Helen who has just finished her dissertation this week and bought her first house this year. She is getting married next year and her dad is a bit of a dick and won't contribute anything to the wedding so responsibility has fallen on the wife's toes which ultimately becomes my responsibility as well.

Catherine's son (daniel mcphilips a scottish kinboshi)was 16 in this picture and was meant to come along to help with the cases but the week before he came off his motorbike and was actually using a wheel chair and crutches all the time we were there and more of a hindrance than help.

Alister had a dummy upto 2 1/2 as did Jakey but Toby never had one at all.

My worst fear about taking kids so young was the flight but the babies never moaned or cried on either flights. Going direct with virgin was obv a big plus. The weather was far too hot outside for babies after mid day at that time of the year. We swam every morning as the kids love water. I probably won't take them again ( if truth be told getting to the wsop again is slim due to it being on my wedding anniversary) but there is loads of stuff for them to do in Vegas.
