Yes so Gary Clucas is from Whitehaven, Cumbria

Whitehaven. A Rugby League team, a nuclear Power station and tragically the place where the gunman ran amok a couple of years ago

Off to google what else is in Whitehaven

Gary is supported by a number of fellow Cumbrians here today, and one, Matt Holliday took down the Super 50 side event yesterday

Not that I take this too seriously, but if he wins I have a tremendous pun for headlines etc. It came to me at 4am and I wrote it down on a napkin by the hotel room teasmade.

Yes, I still need a holiday.

There are two Golden Chips left, and they will make £5,000 extra if they hit the final table

I know who they are, but don't think I will post on here who until after the knockout, as players on their table read the updates on IPhones etc, and I don't want to influence the gameplay

If they individuals show golden chips, I will report it

Wright shoves the small blind unopened

Fox calls all in with A-5

Wright 8-4

Neither make a pair, and Fox doubles up

They are on the five handed table

On the four handed table North is short, and battling with Green, Popat and Mullis. Four handed and the short-stack=hairy times

Tomney now the short stack, on the five handed table, and about to go through the blinds.....

Hand for hand, so as one table finishes and the dwell develops on the other the others crowd round expectantly

Clearly a big deal for these players, a lot of money at stake for them, and good luck to them all.

It seems rather unfair to be playing a five-handed table and a four-handed one.

Why aren't they simply playing nine-handed until they lose one then move to the TV final table?

About 2m

No bashing required.

Its a bubble of a €50 comp near the end of 3 gruelling days play with big money at stake for these guys. Some decisions that seem sub optimal to an updater or a watcher of the updates should be expected in this rather than another situation, I would contend, especially when a golden chip dynamic is added in for another player too

Wright 200,000 utg

Tomney all in big blind under 600,000

Wright dwells, clock, folds

Tomney shows  Ad Ac

10 minute break

what was wrights stack?

i know that we "dont do player bashing" on updates - but folding for 4bbs?

WOW!

pretty sure id have asked TD to check his cards

I know it's after the event but I thought I would share what went through my mind with this hand as it may have looked odd... I had been opening most pots and getting most through. In this case i had  8h Th, good enough to open again. The BB had dwell folded nearly every time but he had a tell (which I won't give away here). When he pushed I was pretty sure he had found a monster...

The shove was for nearly 800k (600k more ie around 1/3rd of my stack). When he called a clock I put him on QQ or higher meaning the call was marginal in any case. I would rather fold here and then revert to raising rather than cripple myself on one hand..

Luckily he showed.

PS Another sterling effort Tighty - legend!!

Just out of curiosity, was he all-in blind or did you see him look at his cards for the tell?

Definitely would be folding, as I said to you he put the clock on so quick to pressure you into a bad decision, and with the blinds/structure/bbs left etc, it was the right fold as you were still well in the game yet if you call (pretty sure he has a monster because of his actions) you're then ruined because you were 'valued' into the call.It wasnt a deepstack, long structure tournament and your strategy had to change!!

Good fold and definitely unlucky as I thought you were the best player on the final table!
